Its all through your phone. We checked in and only waited a few minutes. I of course had made reservations weeks ago. We got seated in a table with a fantastic view. However the walkway to the grass area was by our table so lots of people going by. No biggy. Our server introduced herself as Natalia who was very friendly and nice. I didn't see Remy Martin on the menu but I did see my favorite Rum. Ron Zacapa XO so I got that. The view was so wonderful and we came pretty early so not too crowded yet. We ordered the poke tostada as a starter. It was a special. It was just ok. I didn't think the poke was as fresh as what I had earlier at lunch. Especially for Hawaii. They brought us Focaccia bread and it was free hehe. The wife got the Macadamia Nut fish which was Swordfish today. It was wonderful and cooked perfectly. It tasted great I ordered the other special which was a red snapper. It came out and was over cooked and dry. I sent it back and they were going to re-do it. Natalia came out and said that maybe I could get the same as my wife but I told her that I liked that fish and hoped it turn out ok. Well it came out and was worse. I ordered the Filet Mignon. It came out amazing. I loved it. No fish for me. oh well they tried and Natalia was so nice about it. They even took off my entree. The service here is top notch. We took lots of pictures outside and the sunset was amazing. we ended our meal with the Basque Cheesecake . So yummy and a wonderful end to the meal. Such amazing staff and location.

For drinks we opted for their nonalcoholic drinks bc they sounded so good- lilikoi (which was delicious) and wave rider (which ended up tasting more like a cherry cola than ube). We each ordered a salad- I got the Mac nut and goat cheese and my husband got the smashed cucumber. I was hoping for more goat cheese with mine, and the dressing was light and refreshing. The cucumber one was a bit salty/umami flavoring. We opted to share the lobster and fish pasta which they plated the dish for 2 so we didn't have to ourselves. We really enjoyed the pasta flavor- the lobster was a good size, but I only had like a small piece of fish. They gave the mochi dessert for my birthday which was so good and not too sweet (also thankful they didn't sing or make a big scene lol). Our waiter was super nice and friendly.

I'm sure on weekends would be harder. Food was delicious! Hubs and I both got fish dishes for the evening and it was on point. Fresh and flavorful. They also have their own freshly baked focaccia bread (free!) with olive oil and vinegar. And wow !! We needed another helping of it because it was so good. We ordered off the keiki (kids) menu for our 3yo and I tried some of her pasta Alfredo sauce... I was impressed. Al dente and very flavorful. Came with fresh (and very sweet) pineapples and scoop of ice cream! She loved it. Service was great! Fast and attentive. Ambiance is nice, no need for formal clothes but you can dress up if you'd want!

We decided to celebrate our 5 year anniversary yesterday here at Hukilau Lanai. We are both extremely big foodies and had high expectations based on the reviews (and price). We specifically came here for the fish dishes that use local fish. I never had the chance to eat here before so this review is solely based on my experience yesterday. Poke nachos ($23): 7/10, solid nothing special Soup of the day, Fisherman's Jalapeño corn chowder ($5): 6.5/10, also decently solid but nothing special. The little kick of spice was nice. Hukilau mixed grill ($49): 7/10, the sauce was delicious and trying the various fish was fun. Fish were cooked well and not too dry. The one on the far right was my favorite. Nairabi ($48): 6/10, the crust was excellent but I did not like the pumpkin curry sauce. The marlin actually tasted better when I mixed it with the sauce of the mixed grill. Mashed potatoes were decent. Marlin was a tad bit dry but not sure if that's how it's supposed to be. Coconut cheesecake ($14.5): 9/10, I LOVE COCONUT! Delicious dessert, portion was a lil small tho Lava cake ($18): 3/10, very okayy I personally did not like it especially the outside chocolate cake part tasted off We were seated in a spot on the lanai to the side which was beautiful and peaceful. The service was great, we were constantly being checked up on which was nice. Our server was welcoming and kind. I liked that they give a vase of water so you can pour yourself since we drink a lot of water. Would we come again? No. Although service was great and the fish was decent it was still quite lackluster taste wise especially when compared to the price point. There was a lot of flavors going on with the dishes that felt distracting to me that didn't truly bring out the taste of the fish. Sauce is the most important part of fish dishes. I also don't know if it might've been the food but my partner had a stomach ache afterwards. We also gave our fish leftovers to my brother and it hurt his stomach too lol I was fine though so not sure from what.

We had a view of the ocean. It was pretty high waves after a nearby tropical storm so that was fun to watch. The photo ops are incredible here. They have wonderful seating overlooking the water. Would be great to come here just for drinks. We started with an ahi sashimi appetizer. We pretty much get ahi sashimi at every restaurant in Hawaii. It was good. The hawaiian painkiller drink was nice. Not too strong. For entrees, I picked Kampachi which came with bok choy. Although the portion looked small, it was a good size. Very flavorful. I had a hard time picking between 3 fish entrees. This one worked out well. My wife had a shrimp farfalle pasta. She enjoyed it. When we went to order dessert, they brought us out a lava cake like dessert with happy anniversary written in chocolate on the plate. Complimentary and such a nice touch! It seems like they do pay attention on the reservation. The place was semi-busy but not packed. Bar looked huge. Great service as well.

From the moment you arrive, you know you're in for something special. Complimentary valet parking, breathtaking views of the ocean, beautifully manicured golf course, infinity pools, and even a distant lighthouse create an unforgettable setting before you even sit down. We started with the Lobster Tempura and the Grilled Octopus, and both were excellent. The cocktails were beautifully crafted and the perfect way to begin the evening. For our entrées, we ordered the Kampachi (the first fish on the menu) and the Filet Mignon. After sharing both dishes, my husband and I completely agreed--the fish was the clear winner. It was absolutely outstanding. Every element on the plate complemented the others perfectly, creating one of those dishes you remember long after dinner is over. The filet mignon was very good--perfectly cooked and flavorful--but if we returned, we would order fish again without hesitation. In fact, we'd probably try the other fresh fish option as well (I believe it was Opah). Dessert was the perfect ending to the meal. We enjoyed the warm chocolate cake and the Hawaiian-inspired banana split, both beautifully prepared and delicious. This is the kind of restaurant you choose when you want to celebrate a special occasion or simply treat yourself to an exceptional meal. The combination of stunning scenery, attentive service, creative cocktails, and outstanding cuisine makes it well worth the visit. It's easy to understand why Hualani's has earned such an outstanding reputation. This was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Kauai, and we can't wait to return. Highly recommended!
