I went with the non-alcoholic Peach Refresher, made with Seedlip Grove, fresh lemon, peach purée, honey, and ginger. For dinner, I had the Balsamic Chicken with buttermilk-chive mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach, roasted red peppers, caramelized mushrooms and onions, and lemon chicken jus. The tavern is housed in a historic building that is over 100 years old. The building itself was worth the trip. The food, however, was the real highlight. I had an exceptionally good Shepherds Pie while my wife enjoyed the Irish Kettle dinner that came with corned beef, bangers, rashers. Cabbage, and potatoes cooked in a Guinness based broth. It was outstanding. Service was very good. It was a delightful evening.
