The first time we ordered the following and all the dishes were to die for: Sambrosa - fried dumpling with seasoned beef, lamb, herbs and spices Bolani Sabzi - fried turnover with spinach, herbs, and spices Chicken Qourma - tender chicken with mixed vegetables, onions, tomatoes, green peppers, herbs, and spices with rice, bread and salad Firni - pudding topped with crushed pistachios The second time we ordered the following: Bolani Kachalou - fried turnover with potatoes, herbs, and spices Lamb Shank Kabuli - tender lamb shank with Afghan rice, carrots and raisins Spinach Sabzi - spinach cooked with chickpeas, garlic, onions, tomatoes, green peppers, herbs and spices The lamb shank was to die for and the bone marrow tasted so good. Today my other half was in the mood for lamb so I ordered the lamb shank kabuli again along with the chef combo which consisted of lamb chop, lamb tikka, chicken and fish over rice. The chef combo is probably my least favorite because it's more rice than meats. The meats provided were pretty much a tasting instead of a full kebab (e.g. chicken and fish). One of these days we will visit the restaurant in person.

The food was okay, and it was safe to say it came with a lot of food this combo. The salmon was overcooked and bland, pretty much everything in it was bland, except for the rice and lamb chop, it was thin and fatty. The chicken seemed overcooked as well, it was hard to cut into. The kofta was pretty good, a lot of flavor, small size. The salad it came with, looked so sad. A few pieces of lettuce, carrots and cucumber, that thing couldn't feed half a person. The white sauce tasted like sour buttermilk ranch. After we all ate, we felt awful, heavy, like our chest had some major acid reflux wont be getting this again.

I ordered through the phone for pick up and the hostess was so friendly, I got my food within 20 minutes. They care about their patrons and do everything in their power to make you feel welcome. The decor is simple and uncluttered. Just the right amount of art and adornments, without feeling suffocated. My waiter, Khalil, is a fine gentleman and very personable. He would be welcome at my table anytime. Now for the food: We had the appetizer combo, which consisted of a spinach dish, hummus and pitas, and samosas. Best hummus I've ever had. Spinach was spicy and delicious. Samosa was excellent. For the main course we ordered a kebab platter for 4 people. Three kabobs of your choice, served with white or green (dill) rice. The kabobs here are the best I've ever had (I've been here many times, but this is my first review). This is one of my favorite restaurants in the five boroughs. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Kabul Kabab offers the most delectable, flavorful, and cost-effective family meal in the area. The combo #1 or #2 is more than enough to feed a family of 4-6 and it has great value. A combo comes with salad, onions/grilled tomatoes, 2-4 skewers if your choice (depending on which one you get) and a whole STEAMER TRAY of delicious rice. Pro tip: the lamb kebab is always worth the extra $3 or so and the brown rice is the winner in our home (brown rice = more flavorful + more fiber = winwin!) Please do give this place a try if you're in the area and need to feed at least 3-4 mouths--the people there are so nice and the food is amazing--would give 30/10 stars if I could!

Omar greeted me warmly, remembered my order, and the food was excellent: flavorful kababs, tender meat, perfectly cooked rice, pita bread, salad, roasted tomatoes and onions, and white sauce (plus a free extra tub on request). After receiving the order, I asked why the green sauce--commonly included as a side with this type of meal--was missing. The employee at the counter told me they had run out. However, I noticed that there was a bottle of the same green sauce on every table in the restaurant, which made the explanation confusing and frustrating. Another concern was that the restaurant refused to accept credit or debit card payments. In 2026, declining standard electronic payment methods creates unnecessary inconvenience for customers. Unfortunately, the food quality also did not meet expectations. The lamb chops were very small and appeared dry and overcooked. Overall, the portion sizes and quality did not justify the price. Based on this experience, I would recommend that customers consider other nearby options. In my experience, Shirazi Kebab offers larger portions in their family meals and the food quality has been noticeably better.

Maybe we've been spoiled by our favorite restaurant back in St. Louis (Afghan Kabob House) but Ariana's was underwhelming. The server was friendly but the food was just ok. Pricey due to the location as expected but also underwhelming taste wise. We got the aushak, mantu, and kadoo bolanee (pumpkin curry with bread). All three surprisingly looked very similar (photos look almost identical as they had the same sauce drizzled with yogurt). The aushak has leeks inside while the mantu has beef. The beef was drier than we were used to and the aushak less flavorful with overpowering onion. The pumpkin was cooked in what looked like the same sauce as well but the baked bread it came with was good. They did offer complimentary chickpeas which were tastier however. Maybe other items on the menu would've been better picks!

Everything we ordered was seasoned deliciously, if you're to come here you will not go wrong by ordering anything off the Specials section in the menu. The meats (pause) is what Ariana shines at, make sure to get yourself a kebab or two!
