My favorite order is the combination (gyro and chicken) over rice. It comes with a side salad and is topped with both white sauce & hot sauce. The meat has always been well-seasoned and tender. While the food here is still great I had a really disappointing experience on my most recent visit. We placed an online order, picked it up, and came home to realize the order was incorrect. My partner called the store to see if we could come exchange the food for the correct order, or get a refund, and they did not believe us when we said the order was wrong. They asked us to come back to the store with the full order and receipt. Ok fine I guess. Then they said they refused to start making the correct order until we arrived at the store so we'd have to wait another 15 minutes once we got there. It's really demeaning to think we'd be lying for free food. We entered the order correctly and it was fulfilled incorrectly. Why would you treat your customers like criminals? Just correct the order on principle and have the customer come pick it up like a normal establishment. read more

This place is in my normal rotation of delicious, quick eats! The chicken shawarma wrap with falafel is my favorite. They're very generous with the fillings and sauces, it always leaves me stuffed. I love the unique flavor and spices at Halal Bros. The baklava is a nice treat as well. Order ahead because they are usually slammed with to go orders here (for good reasoning). The only thing I wish is that there was a smaller fry portion, it's enough for 3-4 people. And I wish they had more chip variety. But it doesn't keep me away from this delicious food! read more

These were the worst lamb kebab gyros my fiancé and I have ever had. In the store they clearly have a doner kebab vertical spit, but the lamb came in these hard to chew, dry cubes that ruined the consistency of the gyro. It was so chewy that I ended up taking it all out and eating the pita, and lamb is my favorite meat. Especially doner kebab, it's the best, but this place is not it. The 2 stars instead of 1 is for the fries and hummus, neither were spectacular but at least they were filling enough as neither of us ate our lamb. The fact that this place charged $13 for a lamb gyro and somehow made it so badly that I didn't eat my favorite meat is really something. What can I say except WOW! Not only are the prices AMAZING but the food is PHENOMENAL!!! And the portions are HUGE! The balance of exploding flavors was absolutely perfect. The salad was fresh and crisp while the meats and rice were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I am so sad that I am just learning how awesome halal food is! I personally can't get enough of the beef shawarma, it is so delicious! I always get it over rice, it comes with a delicious salad too ask for extra pickles! The portions are huge, you'll definitely have some to take home! The people here are super friendly. The lines do get pretty long especially during lunch and dinner times. They make all the food fresh right in front of you and it comes out piping hot! Pretty much austins only source for rice, gyro, middle eastern street type food. Decent flavor, pretty large portion. Nothing overwhelming. Not a bad value, but not a good one either. Ive had lamb and beef gyro, both are good. Its basically chipotle with more nutmeg and coriander and cardamom. I can eat a lot, but some people will find the portions big. Pro tip avoid salad and get extra rice if you are hungry. Also, would reccomend pita on the side. The pita is not particularly good, but it helps to burrito-fy the meal. They are basically a hallal guys rip off. They were in austin first. They are all over the place. As a result, people here think they were the original. I have only eaten the food from this location delivered to my home, I have never set foot inside. So, if you want something about the decor or bathrooms, this ain't one of those reviews. But the food?!? Lemme tell you! It's like taste bud narcotics! The chicken-lamb combo over rice with the sauce (white & hot), and just the right amount of fresh lettuce, tomato and cucumber, is perfect. The meat melts in your mouth, and is oh so flavorful. I'll order takeout/delivery about twice a month :) Here's my go to order: Combo Plate Over Rice- grilled lamb and beef with grilled chicken thigh (the juiciest meat on the chicken, IMO) over very well seasoned basmati rice. Also comes with a side salad, which I love cause my perfect bite is both meats, rice, crunchy salad and sauces. I also ask for a side of both white and red sauce so I can pour more on when I eat. This plate is $11 and always lasts me at least TWO meals. *chef's kiss* Side of Pita- $1 and crucial to the above listed mix of yumminess Lemonade- $2 and so tasty! Food is good and I used to eat here often but the prices have increased drastically by 50% over the past couple years. Their plates used to be $8 and now it's around $12 which is kinda expensive for the amount of food you are getting. You get a lot more rice compared to meat, so I usually have leftover rice but wish I had more meat. I really enjoy eating here, the food is packed with flavor and the portions are very generous. I typically always get the Lamb Shawarma over rice and their pita bread. I came into this establishment with a low expectation thinking I could not possibly get anything remotely close to Halal Guys. Boy could I not be anymore wrong. I got the combo over rice. The chicken was juicy and packed with flavors and the gyro meat had a great crispy char on the outside while remaining moist tender. The basmati rice was light, fluffy and well seasoned. It also came with lettuce, cucumber, tomato salad which complemented the rest of the plate very well. I also included the cucumber yogurt white sauce and the Asian rooster hot sauce to my plate making every bite a taste of heaven. Gyro meat is that slowly cooked on a spick so it's super tender and juicy. The falafel is moist, full of flavor, and not chalky. White sauce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and romaine. All wrapped in a pita. If you're overwhelmed by the choices, trust me when I say this is never the wrong choice. Lamb Kebab over Rice: side of pickled veg including red onion, cucumber, pickles, tomatoes on a bed of julienned romaine. Kebabs are juicy and tender, with beautiful grill marks on the outside and don't have that gamey taste often found with lamb. The white sauce on the plate is tzatziki, and everything is on a bed of turmeric rice. Combo over Rice: grilled chicken and gyro meat with the same side of pickled veg including red onion, cucumber, pickles, tomatoes on a bed of julienned romaine. There is so much meat that I couldn't finish my order in one sitting and I currently have half the order sitting in my fridge. I was so happy and excited to discover that they opened right near my work! I was recently introduced to them via their UT food truck location, but this new brick and mortar is great! Service was quick and friendly and their combo over rice is phenomenal! I can see me having lunch here at least once a week as healthy alternative to the fast food offerings in the same vicinity. This place is a hidden gem for halal food. The portions are generous with excellent flavors. The prices are great for the size of the portions and the quality of the dishes. They let you refill your soft drinks and offer free water. You order at the counter and they will bring your order to your table. The counter service is friendly and helpful. The table seating is clean and extensive. As a testament to the quality and authenticity of their food, we saw quite a few families of middle eastern descent enjoying the delicious foods here. We ordered the lamb shawarma over rice, the chicken shawarma over rice and the hummus which comes with enough pita bread for two people. Everything was delicious. We could not finish our food even though I'm a big eater but my friend is not. My favorites were the chicken shawarma, the rice, and the hummus .. so good I'm still thinking about it.
