Manchurian with gravy (veggie)

Have been going to Hakka Wok for at least 15 years now. Their lunch specials are definitely worth it! I love all their veggie dishes. So many options for vegetarians. Service can be slow or fast depending on the day and time. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is very family style and family oriented. Fish tank inside is a great addition!

Well so much has changed They never answer the phone and service has gone from bad to worst !!! Hope they get new management or get a new renovation soon. Love the food but will no longer deal with the disorganization

We started off with the calamari appetizer. I love spice but my husband does not. The calamari itself was not spicy but the veggies that were served with it packed some heat, so we were both pleased with this appetizer and would eat it again for sure! I ordered the dry paneer with chili sauce (spicy), I added mixed veggies for $1 more and loved it! The dry paneer was in small dice sized cube and were nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I would eat this again for sure! My husband had the combo fried rice (mild) the texture was great, and very flavorful m, he highly recommends it! He would have it again for sure. The water they gave us had no ice so it was not as cold as I prefer but it was ok.

Veg SZ Stix worse ever don't appear to be fresh extremely over cooked. Called to mention, told nothing can be done. lost a loyal customer.

Tako Wasabi: A small bowl about the size of a pointer finger, but packed with lots of small, strong pieces of octopus; chewy, savory, with a sharp and fragrant wasabi kick. Leaned on the salty side, but very unique! Beef Tataki: The yuzu sauce, very sour, pairs well with the raw steak, with a side of fresh seaweed Japanese Spaghetti (full): Al dente, chewy pasta with a tangy flavor and a creamy aftertaste, with a side of parmesan and tabasco to add if you want; shareable between 2-3 people Buta Nira Moyashi: Slightly crisped pork with a good balance of lean and fat, served on a generous bed of chives and crunchy soybeans, comes with chili pepper to add if you want; leans a bit on the salty side Curry: A huge bowl! We ordered the same soup the small eye round steak Pho soup. They give you a little plate of garnish on the side there were bean sprouts, jalapeno slices, Basil on the stems, and limes. The soup itself had the meat and green onions diced in the broth. The soup was hot but not too hot to eat temperature-wise. Our waitress was really nice but it took her at least 10 minutes to wait on us. There was a lot of people dining in tonight. The restaurant's very clean and there's plenty of seating. The restaurant is always comfortable not too hot not too cold. I highly recommend you come here and give it a try. They have several different soup options, noodle dinners, appetizees, and sandwiches. They even have lunch specials Monday through Friday (non-holidays). My husband really likes the bubble teas. Will be coming again soon.

I ordered the special pho (#19), which comes with thinly sliced rare steak, brisket, tendon, tripe, cilantro, and onions. I also got the BBQ pork banh mi. The pho was pretty solid. However, I was disappointed with the banh mi. It looked quite different from the menu photo, which, of course, I understand that menu items are created to look their best and don't always come out the same, but this sandwich ended up looking more like a carrot sandwich, and I'm not a fan of carrots. There was only a thin slice of BBQ pork, and the bread was too doughy. The proportions felt off overall, and it was honestly my least favorite banh mi I've tried. I took a bite and ended up giving the rest to a friend who took it home. If I'm in the area, I'd come back for the pho.

Their food has no flavor except for this little joint in Arlington Heights. I started with the papaya salad, which was good. Can't go wrong with that. Then I ordered my masaman curry with lamb. It was something I never had but for sure I will be having AGAIN. Also, had the pad Kee Mow (drunken noodles) these are typical Thai dishes that you should not f-up but several places here DO! This place was on point! Drunken noodle was delicious too. Although, the service was just ok but I guessed it worked out bc it kept us in the restaurant longer. We tried a mix across the menu, and what stood out right away was how many dishes can be made vegan, which makes it a great option for vegetarians or mixed groups. A few must-tries for me: * The Thai wrap -- DIY style and easily one of the more fun dishes on the menu * Red curry * Curry fried rice * Basil dish The papaya salad was also really well done and worth ordering. Portions here are generous -- most mains are easily enough for two people, so it works really well if you're sharing across the table. For the amount of food you're getting, pricing felt very reasonable (around $20-30 per person when sharing), which makes it a strong value spot in the suburbs. It's also on Resy, so if you have an Amex Platinum or Gold card, you can use your dining credit here. Overall, a solid pick if you're looking for flavorful Thai food with good portions and plenty of vegetarian-friendly options in the Arlington Heights area.

The sushi isnt impressive but no one cares... theres a tub of sesame oil and just so many fun things you cant explore in one visit... the earlier you get there for lunch (11am) the more pretty the buffet looks. The hotpot dishes come out in small batches so double up on the proteins you like because service is slower when its busy. Might be 10m before you get that second plate of brisket or 2oz salmon sliver or filet and 2x galbis... save room for dessert... everyone was stuffed by the 2 hour table limit. The meat selection was good. The grill and personal heating hot plates for individual soups was a love hate relationship. I loved that everyone had their personal hotspot, but because there was both the grill and all the individual pots, the table space was very cramped. Also, the space between tables was so tight that every time a person from the next table over would get up, we would get shoved in our seat. I loved that there were so many soup bases to choose from. I was not happy with some of the staff. Particularly staff that were refilling the buffet of vegetables and ingredients. There was one in particular that would literally push her way to the trays without saying excuse me or anything. She threw metal tongs across the trays. Multiple times, she would physically push people out of the way and barreling her way in between people in line. The layout of the buffet of veggies and ingredients doesn't allow for good flow, so it felt very cramped which made her behavior was very off putting.
