Can't recommend anything about my experience. Im a deep brunette and needed roots and highlights done. Just asked Melinda not to go too light or blonde. She didn't listen, maybe because she was busy talking about her troubled daughter for the two hours I was in the chair..? The toner wasn't on very long when her next client came in so she rushed me off to get my cut by another stylist. No conditioning, no double checking. Just moved on. As my hair was dried it was YELLOW and freakishly uneven. It was also fried. I decided to go home and deep condition and assess from there. On the way out (after charging me $195) she whispered that I could come back to adjust the color. I got home and freaked. She missed most of my roots, and gave me WAY too many streaks. Oh, and they were yellow and orange. Thank goodness my usual guy opened his shop early and was able to fix it. And the salon owner Shirley refunded my money after Melinda would not. I saw Melinda for the first time a year ago and I must say i have found my new hairstylist. She has been so accomodating with my busy work schedule. She has also bent like a willow multiple times when i have scheduled an appt with her. I have felt bad everytime I have made an appt and had to back out at the last minute. I had a brazillian blowout done by Melinda a few days ago and I absolutely love it! I researched places in the area that do a blowout, and went with Melinda, which I am so glad I did! She was very professional and reasonable. She uses the real Brazillian Blowout products, not an imitation, which makes a huge difference (my mom and aunt had a similar treatment done not using the Brazillian Blowout products, and their resutls don't even compare to my hair...) Melinda explained the whole process, and was very nice about answering any questions. The process took approx 90 min. Today I washed my hair and after a few minutes of blow drying, it came out super straight... no round brush, no flat iron! I was amazed, and am so happy I chose to have it done by Melinda. I do not even have words for this review that will suffice. I found this place on Groupon, called to ask a question. Didn't get a very friendly tone from the shop owner to begin with but I rolled with it. I called and left a voicemail the day before my appointment to scratch my scheduled color and just go with a cut and style. Without calling me back, my appointment was changed from 8:30am to 11am which is a huge jump. When I finally spoke to the stylist regarding the huge time change, she reluctantly agreed on 10am. At 9:45am day of appointment when I was parking my car in front of the salon, after driving 30 minutes to her, I got a phone call saying she needed to push my appointment "a little". 15 minutes before the start time!! Where did she have to go? Long Beach. Doesn't sound like pushing my appointment back "a little", sounds like 2 hours of a push back. Now I'm irritated and not prepared for the even I need to attend in 2 hours. read more

I even had so many of my friends discourage me from getting the BB, but I had to see for myself, so I researched around my area (Monrovia), and noticed that Melinda had many good ratings as well as a great Brazilian Blowout offer, so I called her and booked an appointment for the next day. Of course, I never met her before so I was still really scared. She then came and introduced herself to me and sat me in her chair. She asked me if I had any questions or concerns and I told her "I was scared because I heard so many negative things about the BB." The process didn't take as long as I thought, but then again I have pretty thin hair. A few hours later, bam!.. I had silky hair!.. It reminded me of how Jennifer Aniston's hair looked silky and soft. My hair before was just really frizzy, and needed to be blow dried and curled or straightened to accomplish that silky look, but now.. I wake up, shower, maybe throw the blow-dryer through really quick and wa lah!.. silky hair.. The downside is it lasts maybe 10-12 weeks, but I will definitely go back!.. I received my first of I'm sure many to come Brazilian Blowouts, being a fellow hairdresser I was skeptical about the procedure, but fret no more it is the most amazing service ever created. This service literally has given me my life back frizzy hair no more, my life always revolved around my hair now my hair revolves around my life. I would literally schedule my day around my hair because I needed to have enough time to style it, having curly frizzy hair (if anyone out there knows about this knows exactly what i'm talking about) my hair took over my life, its started to become a drag to do everyday... And to top it off as if you need more convincing, my hair was not in the best of shape due to bleaching and coloring all the time, so i was affraid to have this done because i didn't want to run into further damage, well believe it or not my hair is in the best condition it has ever been in in a long time.
