Disappointed and Heartbroken by My Experience. I'm leaving this review with genuine disappointment. I booked an appointment with MJ (Michael) and want to start by saying that the two stars are solely for their effort and kindness. They truly tried their best under very difficult circumstances, and I could tell they cared about doing a good job. Unfortunately, the salon's situation made that almost impossible. I came prepared with multiple reference photos and written notes explaining the specific style I wanted -- an alternative, textured, and partially buzzed haircut inspired by anime looks. I thought I'd made my preferences clear and detailed to avoid any misunderstanding. MJ assured me they would check in with me throughout the process, but that became difficult once the appointment started. The biggest issue was that MJ was left completely alone to handle everything -- phone calls, walk-ins, and customer service -- all while trying to cut my hair. During my appointment, he had to stop several times (at least 4-5) to assist other customers or answer calls. It was very distracting for both of us and led to mistakes and miscommunication about the length and design I wanted. I don't fault MJ personally; he was doing the work of multiple people at once. My main concern is with how the salon is managed. It's not fair to expect one stylist to juggle so many tasks while providing quality service. It also doesn't make for a good customer experience -- for me or anyone else in the salon that day. I've been growing out my hair since 2021 and was genuinely excited for this appointment, but I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. I now have to wear a hat to cover the mistakes and wait until my scheduled and MJ's align to fix it. This is in over a week. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures stylists are properly supported so they can focus on their clients without constant interruptions. MJ has potential, but no one can do their best work under those conditions -------------- UPDATE : I will actually not be back. I just don't trust the skills that MJ has to do my hairstyle and it might have been nice to know prior to going over my haircut ideas. I just put up my hair so my partner could see my undercut that was just supposed to be shaped in an A shape under buzzcut(mind you I asked for a size 0 which is a 1/16 inch without clippers) and realized I was shaved wrong and have a bald spot. This place is disgusting. They really need to wipe down the walls because this is just flat out repulsive. Take some pride in where you work. The whole place is filthy. The walls have grime all over them. The chairs are torn. I got my hair colored by Soktha. It took a lot longer than it usually does (I go somewhere else but decided to try this place for the first time). She used a different level than what I normally get. My hair turned out satisfactory. Kind of looks like the picture, kind of doesn't. It was a lot cheaper than what I normally pay, but I wonder how long this color will hold up. I get a sense they use cheap quality. Natalia cut my hair after the opening of the first shutdown. She did a great job in doing a a-line cut. Also, I felt safe while being in there. Hand sanitizer, masks, cleaning... There is a cleaning/disinfecting fee now which I do not mind ... it was less than $4 which was reasonable. read more

Last year I got my hair cut my Melinda.. she understood what I wanted and it was perfect. This year I don't know who cut my hair because she wasn't wearing a name tag.. I felt rushed, I asked for 3-4 inches, she dry cut my hair and didn't understand what I meant when I wanted a long layer so that the cut wasn't blunt and the front slightly longer than the back like a long a line. Well come home and my hair is 6 inches shorter, longer on the right side and uneven cut in the back and my front is shorter than the back. I went in yesterday with a vague idea and a 10 year old picture to describe the kind of haircut I wanted. Fiona did an excellent job! I'm very happy with my new look. Since I hadn't had a haircut in almost 3 years it was quite long. Fiona put it in a braid before cutting of 6+ inches, carefully bagging it up and encouraged me to send it to Locks of Love. This place is a rip off, I was charged $25 for a haircut plus a $4.95 Covid cleaning fee. I'm sorry but cleanliness is part of the business, the ac vent is piled thick with dirt and dust. Every seat if covered with hair clippings. You charge folks sanitation fees yet you don't do anything to sustain the charge. I hope you are sued soon and turned into the Health department or cosmetology licensing. Shame on you, you don't see grocery stores charging you extra. read more

I've gone to this place several times and had Danny cut my hair exactly as I asked. Today I got my hair cut by someone else because Danny quit. I'm old and know exactly what I want, the type of haircut; no bangs and keep the part in the middle; I also wanted it layered to stay off of my face, nice and short. I relaxed, and she washed, cut, and blow-dried my hair. I couldn't believe it, she gave me bangs and guess where she parted it...the freaking side! Ok. So after a bad perm experience and a huge misunderstanding, Shanna from corporate turned out to be very nice and helpful. Shanna issued me a refund and gave me the opportunity to have my hair redone for free. Lettie at the Hair masters on Carpenter Rd. was extremely nice and helpful and we decided not to do my hair again so it won't be damaged further. It still wasn't done how I wanted because I specifically wanted the curls bigger and not on top as it looks weird on top especially when I put it in a ponytail. But it looks better now and Letti gave me about $27 worth of hair products for free. Lettie is a very sweet and helpful woman and I will see her to do my hair in the future. As for Erika at the hair masters on Oakdale, she was very rude and I will not go back to that one. I do recommend Letti. read more

Very disappointed. I scheduled online. I got there and they could not find me in their system, so I scheduled for an hour out. I went back and I cannot remember the person cutting my hair. She was very off putting and in an obvious rush. I always tip really well, and after leaving a tip for sub par service, I get home and realize my hair was cut uneven. Long strands stuck out and I had to cut them myself. I can deal with the non communicative hair dresser, but doing a sloppy job isn't professional. I had been taking my daughter's here for years, but I think we will search elsewhere now. read more

Soktha is awesome with layering my curly hair!!! Honestly, I walked into this salon with a kind of exasperated resignation that stylists want to deny the existence of my curls by flatironing it; especially because their technique makes my hair "poof out." Soktha was able to cut my hair that no flatironing was necessary, and this is a great indication of a good hair cut because who has the time to constantly iron their hair?--- err except those who have too much time on their hands. read more

I went in today for a haircut and was seated by Ericka. I asked for an A Line, which I've wanted many times before at different salons but the stylist would always talk me out of an A Line and talk be into a bob with long layers because my hair is fine and thin. I followed my hairstylist to this HairMasters location a while back. I am always a walk-in for haircut and I never wait more than 10 minutes. All the stylists are experiences and know how to ask the questions to give you the best cut/style. I am always greeted with a smile from one of the stylists and the atmosphere is always positive. I went to this salon 2 days ago. My mom has gone for sometime. On rare occasion, I have had them cut my children's hair. I had good luck with Amy, Veronica and Tish. Only the first two of these remain. I had an appointment for a wavy short bob with some layers, though in fairness I did not know how the cut needed to be done. I only had the photo. I incorrectly assumed I would need to tell the salon how to cut the hair to create a hair style. I do not have any experience cutting hair 2 minutes on u tube gave all the steps. I wish I would have known earlier The hair turned out very badly with an eventual bob, 2 stylist later. The share of the overall hairdo looked like a triangle. I was so embarrassed and searched for the words to discuss it. I was after the discussion turned over to the manager. She asked me what I didn't like. I was hard pressed not to say all of it. It was not a matter of preference, it was I asked if you could do this cut wth my hair and face. The answer was yes but the response or delivery was something different I spent 4.5 hours 145.00 on a product I did not receive to be told by the manager, "I think we're there now". It's like you buy a blue car, they give you a red on and say it is correct! I was told I need to pay for the work that had caused this mess. Further, when I return for another to fix it, PI would need to pay for this also. Maybe another 145.00 for hair now no longer than the chin. I was sick by the time I left. It is not a matter of taste, the structure was incorrect More importantly, the manager tried to convince me of the cut, embarrassed me in front of the staff and the price did not match the mess on my head I put on a brave face. Separately each family member asked me, "What happened to you?" My little girl said, that is "igusting" She missed the letter d. Worst service I've ever had with them our another salon. I am not sure why I went here, but I did. Took my son and explained we wanted him to have some highlights added to his hair along with a hair cut. So she said it poss will be 70 bucks, I said " hmmm ok better be amazing due to his hair is very short".
