I've been seeing Brenda for about a year now and will definitely keep seeing her. I am very particular with my hair stylists as some just didn't take care of my hair well. Some would just dye color on top of color or bleach/color my hair when it was too damaged. Brenda is very knowledgeable about hair and the science behind it. I appreciate her thorough explanations on why I can or can't do certain things to my hair. She doesn't just blindly do it for money. I was afraid of bleaching my hair again because it was so damaged, but it is still soft and healthy after my services with Brenda. She effortlessly turned my basic hair into something that really helped boost my confidence! Definitely would recommend

Went with a little more color and shorter.

Brenda did not disappoint again. I ended up cutting my hair and went a little more color in my hair. Like always she is good with communication and she always makes sure that you don't leave disappointed. I'm always happy whenever she does my hair.

I've been seeing Monica for over 2 years now, love her work! I have dark brown / black hair. I went from dark brown to blonde and now back to black. My hair is coarse and thick, typical Asian / Pacific Islander hair. I highly recommend her!

DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR DONE HERE. I got my hair done by Brenda and was originally quoted $185-$245. I ended up paying $383 which included a $13 haircut that I did ask for. Overall I was charged $125 over and the entire time there was no communication of any sort about how much extra bleach would be needed for my hair or how much extra "toner" would be needed. She didn't communicate pricing AT ALL. Not only that but my hair is so brassy and orange. She left orange brass all underneath my hair. When I messaged the owner Monica on Instagram to help fix my brass, she said she'd charge me $100 more to bleach out the brass or I can tone it darker for free. I said I didn't want to have to pay more when I already spent so much and I also didn't want to tone my hair darker when I paid so much to be blonde so I asked for a refund. Monica kept telling me that I need to be understanding as going blonde is a process. Here's the thing though, I understand blonding is a process but I was already BLONDE. My hair was extremely light already so all I asked was for Brenda to bring up my balayage but instead of doing so, she left me with streaks of brass all throughout my hair. Once again I asked for my refund and Monica ended up going off on me saying that since I'm a nail tech I should understand this industry etc. Long story short, I finally got my partial refund of $100 after going back and forth with her. Don't come to this salon if you want to get overcharged for brassy hair and have to pay more for it to get fixed. Here's the screenshot of our conversations and my hair.

Major chunk of hair missing from the front of my once long bob. Clear attempt to add in layers and texture but definitely missed the ball.

Tony was nice and did a good job with my hair albeit on only one side. One side is layered nicely and evenly. The other side is missing a giant chunk of my hair. No way to fix it now without letting my hair grow out. The first picture is what I got. The second is what I asked for.

I would not trust anyone else with my hair except Brenda at Hairdo. My hair is naturally dark brown. She was able to achieve the color that I want without damaging my hair. She will always take her time with your hair. From consultation to actually doing your hair and styling it. I recommend Brenda for your hair needs 100%.

Recently came in for a haircut and balayage, and I am beyond impressed with the results. Brenda was able to transform my dead, damaged and boring medium length naturally brown hair into a fun and healthy blonde shoulder length bob. Brenda was very sweet, gave me lots of tips for upkeep and was a great conversationalist for the 3 1/2 hours she worked with me. I could not sing Brenda and this salon's praises higher if I tried. I will definitely be coming back for any future haircuts and hair color transformations.

Left: after bleaching and blowdrying
Right: final product (lighting tweaked because it was around 6 pm and the salon was a little dark)

Singing Rachel's praises!! I think my husband (83) and I (78) might be some of her older clients,…read morebut she makes us feel young! About a year ago, I decided to color my greying hair for the first time. Having never done color before, I researched online and found Deseo Salon. I made an appointment for a consult and met the fabulous Rachel. From the moment I chatted with her, I trusted her implicitly. She understood my concerns, my hopes, and -- most importantly -- my hair. She was one of the warmest people I had ever met and our rapport was immediate. Since that time, I have come to know more about this young, brilliant stylist. She is gracious, effervescent, gentle, and interesting. I persuaded my husband -- who hadn't been to a stylist in about six decades -- to come with me and have Rachel cut his hair. He said that he now knew what I'd been raving about for months. Beyond Rachel, the salon is wonderful. They recently moved into new and upscaled quarters. It is contemporary and sleek, yet exudes a warm welcome; it is open and bright, and yet gives a feeling of privacy in each stylist's space; it is softly-scented, evoking a mood of calm and serenity, and yet there is enough bustle and enthusiastic conversation to highlight the camaraderie between stylist and client. Deseo is eco-conscious -- a place where sustainabillity feels indulgent, not austere! Being there is a restorative experience. The front desk staff is outstanding, too. On a very personal note, I want to share two quick stories. One day I arrived at my appointment and was suddenly called to a family member's medical emergency. Despite their policy about cancelled appointments, they understood, didn't charge me, and told me to take my time and that I could rebook whenever I wished. The first time my husband accompanied me, he was offered -- as is everyone upon entering -- a beverage. He requested decaf coffee which they did not have. Yesterday, on his second visit, the lovely receptionist told him that she had ordered decaf specifically because he had asked for it on his first visit. For someone to go above and beyond based on the "need" of one customer is a sign of the caring that this salon exhibits. I cannot say enough good things about Deseo. Go here! Relax here! Enjoy here! And definitely book Rachel. When you find yourself in Rachel's chair, you know that you're in the hands of a stunning and talented professional.

My request was simple: CHUNKY balayage. CHUNKYYYY. I had pictures to show what I wanted. Mostly warm highlights with some cool sprinkled in. I also asked to add texture to my hair but keep the length (it was below my bra line). Nope... goodbye 6 inches I didn't ask to lose (now it's just below my shoulders). I had THICK voluminous hair, and now it's like I have the Rachel haircut. They foiled my hair to death and I ended up almost platinum blonde when the foils came out, and then to add insult to injury, you could clearly see the lines where the highlights began where it looks almost burnt at the edges?? We went back in for another TWO hours to make it warmer, but by that time my hair was fried, and now I have a bald spot I didn't have before. He offered to fix it in another few weeks after my hair has had time to settle, but I'm never letting anyone there touch my head again. I'm too nice of a person and still managed to crack a semi smile when it was finally done, but now I'm left with tears and silent screaming to hold back my utter horror at what they left me with. If you didn't get the memo: I don't recommend them. Even after everything, he still had the audacity to charge me $250 (discounted) and said I didn't need to leave a tip. Umm, thanks? God only knows how long this is going to take to fix... Should've gone to Fluff Bar. Thanh, you should've comp'd it and ask I not leave a bad review, which I totally would've said yes to not doing. Lesson learned? Was the juice really worth the squeeze? Looks like I'm not the only one who's had this happen to them? Ladies or gents: If you want balayage or any kind of coloring service, do NOT go here. This is NOT their specialty. Run. UPDATE: Went to a highly reviewed salon a few days after my visit with Vo where I had two pros look at my hair to assess the situation (and probability of me somehow getting what I originally wanted), and both agreed that what Vo did to my hair was "pretty bad" and unprofessional. All I heard, as they were slowly combing and lifting through my hair, were soft whispers and gasps of horror with the occasional, "Girl look at this... omg..." After hearing what they could do to fix the mess Vo left me with (weeks of painstaking piece meal work and god-knows-how-much-money) I ultimately decided to have them take me back to my original brown so I could start over from square one. THAT'S how bad it was. All that time and money just to go back to brown and have my hair be short and thin instead of long and thick. God I could scream. I appreciate you offering to fix the mess you left me with, Thanh, but no thanks. I would much rather you spend the time you would've taken on fixing my hair to spending it on some coloring courses instead. Just because you own a salon doesn't mean you've mastered the art of hair. The other guy whom you trained on the fly with me has a lot of learning to do also. I could tell he didn't know what he was doing and yet you still let him touch my hair while you juggled two other clients. Unacceptable service. On top of that, neither you or the other guy ever made small talk with me, which I've never experienced at a salon in all my life. Like, not a single word or question about my day or even my name. Even if you guys had done a great job, I still wouldn't have come back due to that alone. K I'm done. Lesson learned I hope. Best of luck to you.

This appointment had been scheduled months in advance. When I received the 48-hour reminder text, I was in the middle of moving and in one of the busiest stretches of my work year. I immediately tried to call to cancel, but they were closed that day and there was no clear way to cancel through any other method. Because of everything going on, calling back the next day unfortunately slipped my mind. On the day of the appointment, they called me, and I apologized for missing it and explained the situation. During that conversation, it sounded like they might be able to work with me to avoid being charged for a service I didn't receive. However, a few days later I checked my bank account and saw that I had been charged the full amount. While I understand this may be their official policy, I reached out again to explain that I had attempted to cancel and had no available option to do so within the 48-hour window. What followed was a drawn-out process where I was consistently never called back in the time frame I was told and ultimately I was informed I would still be responsible for the full charge. After three years of loyalty--and even considering recommending them for my brother's upcoming wedding--this experience was extremely disappointing.

She no longer would do my hair, indicating that I was too particular and she feared she could not please me so she referred me to another stylist. This was insulting but I did schedule the correction with the 2nd stylist who explained the error made by the first stylist and how she could fix it. Even though Stylist 1 made the mistake which was clearly conveyed by Stylist 2, I decided to let the 1st stylist off the hook and paid for a consult rather than a correction because there was nothing the 2nd stylist could do to fix it at that moment anyway and I didn't want any awkward encounters going forward. After 3 visits with Stylist 2, my hair was 'fixed' and we were humming along. However, when I attempted to schedule my 7th visit, the salon said they were increasing my fees to a full custom color rather than the partial foil (the same partial foil I'd received in the prior 6 visits). I argued that neither the process nor the time involved had changed and I saw no reason to increase my already top tier fee but they would rather lose a client than continue to do my hair. I'm really disappointed because my hair was getting really good and I was excited for the next visit but they rescheduled two appointments and then sprang the price increase on me with the third call...and that was the last straw. Their response was "we understand your decision". You understand my decision? I'm sure you do...I don't imagine you have too many clients happy about a price increase when they're already paying more then they ever did for the service you're providing. Good luck with that.
