I actually chose this salon because of the reviews I read here, and I'm SO glad I did!! I was changing my hair big time (it was down to the middle of my back, dead at least to my shoulders and I wanted to get it to blonde from the red it was *unnatural manic panic blood red*, and I knew how hard it was going to be to try and lift that color out without my hair turning completely orange) and I needed someone that would listen to what I wanted and do it RIGHT. Melissa is that person! I called on Thursday and spoke to Melissa, telling her all of this, and she made me an appointment for that Saturday afternoon and cleared her schedule for the rest of that day. I could not be more happy with the way my hair turned out!! She did her best to lift out the red, and she ended up bleaching out as much as she could, and in the end we decided to leave what was bleached and have light pink streaks throughout the rest of my hair, it turned out kinda like a reverse ombre, and I LOVE it!! I showed her a picture of how I wanted it cut, and she did it BETTER! I wanted it very short in the back, longer strands on the sides and cute side bangs in the front. Most salons boast that they are up to date on the latest cuts and styles when they definitely are not, all they know are layers and straight edges. Melissa understood exactly what I wanted, and the fact that certain cuts are SUPPOSED to be uneven, whether it be the back, sides, bangs etc. Now that I have found Jagged Edge, I will not go anywhere else, and will recommend this salon to everyone that I know! All the stylists are incredibly nice, talented, and up-to-date on the latest styles. They all attend hair shows and still take classes, which I LOVE! I recently got the shilac non-chip manicure done also and love it! My favorite stylist is Jen Arias. Honestly, I have been going to her for years and have trusted her with my locks under the most extreme occasions, even when I was undergoing chemotherapy. She has been there for me through thick hair and thin hair, very short hair, and very long hair. She was there for me on my sister's wedding day and my wedding day with nine bridesmaids when the salon was supposed to be closed. She's been there when I went through a divorce and needed to feel good again. She recommends the best and right products and gives me the best cuts for my hair type. After chemo, my hair grew back thick and curly thanks to Jen. Also, Jen is a miracle worker when it comes to color. She is the color queen! In my experience, my hair does not hold color well due to the medication I am on. However, Jen uses a combo of tones to give my hair this awesome, red velvet RED. There is not a day that goes by that I don't receive compliments about my gorgeous, luscious RED hair. Recently, Jen cut about 10 inches of my long thick hair off and completely changed my old look to an updated chic inverted bob that I can wear straight or luckily, curly! We also like to play with my color a bit. Yes, it is still an awesome shade of RED, but with chunky deeper red low-lights. It is GORGEOUS and SUPER CHIC! I have been getting even MORE compliments everywhere I go, and everyone wants to know who does my hair. I have had to write the salon, their phone number and Jen's name down on the back of my business card for people I don't even know! Jen is kind, beautiful, talented, and takes her career seriously. We picked a rich brown, she applied the color, said she would be back in 15 minutes but returned 25 minutes later. By then, my hair was black. After rinsing and drying, it was so dark, I was upset. She took forever it seemed to do a trim of 1/2 inch, and I just wanted to get out of there. No, I did not complain to the owner or stylist, but I should have; I was just upset, and the stylist knew it. I just need to find someone I can trust and who is experienced. I ended up going home and finding a product online that would strip out color gently, and after 3 applications of this product, my hair looked medium brown again instead of black. So disappointed in this local salon; maybe they should monitor or mentor their new hires better. I had gone here before for a trim with a different stylist, and she did do a good job, but she is part-time and is hard to schedule with.

On my first visit, 7/21/18, we talked about the disaster that was my hair and what could be done and how long it would take to fix it. By my 3rd visit, on 11/10/18, I became a believer in her skill and know that she'll be my stylist for the rest of my days in IL. Linda is meticulous and actually listens to what you're looking for. I sent her a video of a cut/style I wanted and she nailed it. She asks styling questions, what products you use, how often you wash your hair, and so on. I really love Michelle as a stylist, I had her do my hair 4-5 years ago and remembered her since…read morethen... but I couldn't remember her name. I was finally able to find her again through Diva's Facebook page and I'm so glad. I booked a haircut and full highlight, wanting to go back to my natural color so my hair could continue to grow and be healthy. I didn't realize I should have booked for a color correction, but Michelle moved her clients around to give more time to do my hair. I would have been more than understanding to reschedule, but thankful she was able to fit me in! One of the other ladies was amazing as well running to the store to get more product for my hair. It doesn't look like a huge change, but this was removing box color from my hair so it could better match my roots and a treatment to prevent damage. I am also not a huge talker and shy during appointments like this, but it didn't feel awkward at all and I had a chance to just enjoy being pampered and relax. Overall, I'm so grateful Michelle and the ladies were so accommodating and understanding with me. There wasn't frustration even for a split second. I will continue coming back to Michelle and recommending Diva's to everyone!

There are clear color blocked areas. Parts of my hair look like a cheetahs print because the color is splotchy. Just terrible. Then when I followed up even though there's clear picture proof, they just kept making excuses. It shouldn't take an entire day of talking to not get a resolution of a botch job. They said "I left happy". I left because I was already half late to an important dinner because the stylist was running so late. Also, you can see more of the details and underneath when you get home. It also took forever to get someone on the phone for an appointment. Poor stylists, poor management.

Madeline was the one who took over after the second try and tried to fix it but that's also how I ended up with the choppy color at the back. This took approximately 4 to 5 hours of my time over 2 days and I am not very happy right now. Yeah my hair is colored but it's not the way I wanted it and now I'm told it's extremely damaged from all of their attempts of trying to fix it.THEN.... Madeline had to cut my hair to remove the damage. I didn't want s haircut!! And then Madeline who is the owner's daughter kept saying things to make me feel bad like it's my choice of color that blood. Well the stylist should have shared with me. Then it's my fault because on the 3rd attempt Madeline was late taking her daughter to Girl Scouts trying to fix my hair. I'm sorry. Then she tells me when I have to come back the next day that she's coming in early to take care of me. Again. So sorry. Then after she finishes up the hair she said that they lost money on me. Again so sorry. But it's not my fault. This place just left a horrible taste in my mouth.
