Many years ago I had a membership which I no longer used d/t relocation of my job. In the meantime, my debit card number changed and completely forgot about my membership. Recently I went back to LaYa. in Joliet and was told I had a balance of well over $200. I was not paying that amount and went on my way to my regular tanning place Unlimited Tan. Shortly after my visit to La Tan I received an email stating I was "missed," and the balance would be waived. I continued to receive emails from La Tan one which was customer appreciation on April 24 and ,25, 2026. Perfect opportunity to try out La Tan once again. I arrived and was once again told I had a balance. It appears in order for my balance to be waived, I needed to use a COUPON which had expired 3/31/2026. I guess I was not really missed. read more

So. I'm not tanning salon aficionado or anything, but bad service is bad service. My sister has skin much like mine, pale, sensitive, NEVER tans, only burns. I've gotten used to it, but she like to spray tan to keep a healthy glow but not look like an oompa loompa. She begged me to come with her the other day and offered to buy. I'm easily bribed, what can I say? This is the salon she usually goes to because it's conveniently located by her house and it's relatively cheap compared to other tanning salons in the area. She said she prefers Coco Tan, but that they're a little pricey so she settles for this place. I think I'd rather go check that place out and skip the nonsense because seriously. The high school girl behind the counter was really unhelpful. Not rude, but just, like she didn't give a shit about being there or helping. Just swiped Chrissy's credit card and somberly said, "down the hall". I get it, she's a teenager and they hate everything. To boot, she works in a crappy tanning salon. But give me a break, you're still representing a company. While I was waiting for Chrissy to finish, I watched a couple of customers come out of tanning beds and the girl didn't budge. I thought, well, maybe she just waits until most of the beds are dirty and then cleans them all at once? No. I saw a new customer walk into a bed that had just been used. GROSS! Then I started looking around because I was thoroughly grossed out. The ceiling tiles have a TON of water damage and most of them are taken down. Then my sister came out, and the girl was like, "oh! I have to clean it before you get in! Duh!" She placed a towel and hair net thing in the room, pressed a button that makes it shoot water all over the inside, and left. Now, imagine if I had never done this before. Thankfully I've been one other time. But she didn't even ask, just ran back up to the front and hopped back on her computer. Now, their spray machine? You just get one color to choose from. I guess it's a real light shade and the more you go the more it builds up. That kind of stinks for people that are darker skinned than I am. What can I say! Uhm! Needs some serious repairs. The toilet does not flush and my butt got stuck to the toilet seat. One of the booths was filled with cleaning supplies, I assume it was" the broken level 3 lie down bed". The girl at the front was cute and tan. But very limited in conversation. At least she said bye hun as I was leaving. I guess the shift changed when I was leaving, because another anorexic girl walked in in shorts half way down so you could see her g string on a very bony ass, when its 35 degrees. Worked at this place for 2 and a half years and no matter how busy or what was going on I always made sure the beds were clean. I tanned today no towel and checked the bed. You could see the lotion all over the acrylic from the person before. Had to ask for the spray bottle to clean my own bed. So disgusted. read more

Remarkable results today with red light therapy and spray tan. The products are irresistible and I wish I can have them all lol! Really recommend a lotion called "fan fare"- its probably the best smell you have ever smelled in your life. Decent beds, but the staff leaves a lot to be desired. I used to go here once every 2 weeks on Tuesdays in the evening. There is a petite brunette that has the personality of a cinder block. Obviously I'm going there to tan, not to socialize. However she has a very unwelcoming way that kinda makes you feel like you're interrupting her to ring you up. Yes, questionable thorough cleaning of beds. I do not trust their sanitary practices. Found some hair on the beds a couple times. Bathroom toilet has clearly given everyone a hard time. Some bulbs in beds are out as well. Their 5.00 Tuesday tan is a decent deal, but if you actually want to look good and you tan a few times a month, spring for a Planet Fitness membership for $20 a month and tan to your hearts' content and get some exercise at the same time. It's right down the road and the beds are something out of a science fiction movie. Well, what can I say about LA TAN in Joliet? It's awesome, I've been going there for 4+ years now. A lot of my friends and family tan there also. The beds are always current on the bulbs. It's clean and as far as the employees go, well they're kids and for the most they have all been nice to me .But, I'm not a b_ _ _ ch. Prices are the best in town, And lotions sales are awesome as well as the lines they carry. Things happen at any business, and you can't make everyone happy. I will recommend this salon to everyone. 1. When you Google search they will list the hours for Sunday as 8 AM to 8 PM. - Not so, the sign on the door informs you they are open 10 AM - 5 PM. - change something here. 2. On Sunday Aug. 24, no one showed up until 11:15AM - I counted apx 9 cars who pulled up, got out and left. Ka-ching! Revenue lost? Unsatisfied customers? The employees that work at this location have always been great and super nice. However there is a manager, I think her name is Katie-has blue eyes, who is there every now and then and will also be at the Shorewood one. She always ruins my experience when I come into tan. I literally will see her and turn around to come back another time. She pushes sales CONSTANTLY to the point where you feel uncomfortable. One time they were offering a 10 dollar spray tan and when I went in and told her that she got everything ready and then told me I owe 17 dollars. I asked her how so and she said, "Oh that level spray tan for 10 dollars is broken so I gave you a higher level"...oh hey manager, wanna tell me that BEFORE you go in and charge me?! Or I don't know, take down your damn sign, or honor the discount on the higher level or for crying out loud, apologize to me!? She tries to undermine everyone even when you say no can I just get into a tanning bed please! Don't like her at all and she brings down the value of LA Tan.
