We had planned a nice date afterward, and this was supposed to make me feel good. Instead, I left crying. Melissa had apparently double-booked appointments. After washing my hair, she left me sitting there with a towel on my head while she worked on another client. Throughout the haircut, she repeatedly put her hands against my face, smudging and ruining the makeup I'd spent time putting on for our evening out. It was uncomfortable and unnecessary, and by the end of the appointment my makeup was a mess. Then I saw my haircut. I specifically asked for face-framing layers and bangs. What I walked out with looked absolutely nothing like what I requested. The cut is choppy, awkward, and honestly makes me look like Joe Dirt. I was so devastated that I couldn't get out of the salon fast enough. I cried the entire ride home. My fiancé and I ended up canceling our night out because I was so embarrassed. I can't even bring myself to post photos of the haircut because that's how humiliating it is. To make matters worse, I was encouraged to purchase a hair product to "keep my hair shiny." Before buying it, I noticed the bottle appeared to be cracked. When I pointed it out and said I didn't want it, both Melissa and the owner insisted it was just the label and that the bottle wasn't actually cracked. When my fiancé picked me up, he examined it, ran his fingernail over it, and confirmed it was in fact cracked all the way around. What was supposed to be a relaxing, confidence-boosting experience after a difficult week left me feeling worse than when I walked in. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this salon.

Wendy at Kenz is an amazing stylist and the only one I will allow to cut my hair. I have never had…read morea bad cut. Every time I go somewhere else because of convenience I regret it. Now I just schedule time in my day to make it out to Kenz. She remembers me even though I come in very seldom (due to time and money) and she always remembers what cut I prefer. And Mary in the Nail's department always does a fantastic job. My nails are always perfect (hands and feet) and she is always meticulous. The nails last for weeks. She always remembers me even though I only come in about once or twice a year. She has massage chairs and uses high end colors and has a wide variety to choose from. When I splurge and get acrylic nails I am never disappointed. I always get a french manicure first and you can't tell they aren't my own nails. Plus she asked me how I wanted them, thin or thicker. I told her that I am really hard on my nails so she makes them a little thicker. I have never had one break. I also like that she is a one woman show (at least she is the only one I have ever seen there) so she isn't conversing with other women in a language I don't understand.
