I tried to get a picture of my cute haircut, but I failed miserably. Anyway, the haircut is totally awesome! Just as short as I like it. With enough weight taken off. I never know how to explain what I want, but I showed up with pictures and she made the magic happen. The shampoo and conditioner was lovely. I really like the smell. The salon itself is nice and clean. It's huge! Some people do kids cuts so don't forget about your littles. The price was actually very reasonable! It's tucked in the corner over by Judy's Chinese restaurant and a sports bar. It's behind the target. They take credit card and you can tip on the card! Everybody in here was really pleasant. Been coming here a little over a year now. The first time I came was on a bit of a whim after purchasing a Groupon. Really loved my cut and style then, so next time I needed a trim I called them up. Sadly, my stylist I saw then had left for another job and I was extremely nervous to see someone else. She was the first person I had liked in a long time! Luckily they set me up with Tasha and I've been seeing her ever since. I don't even remember my original gals name! Tasha is awesome and always takes good care of me. I have pretty fine hair I've been trying to grow out for years and she always styles it well without taking too much off. I've been teasing her about wanting to cut it since my initial appointment, but never have the guts. She still keeps it cute for me while she waits for me to grow a pair. The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. the reason I gave it four instead of five stars: is because i bought three Groupon's. My mother and I got absolutely fantastic cuts and styles. Finally found a place where I would like to go get my hair done regularly. The staff at hair graphics are great! They all seemed very professional and personable. They also constantly checks up on you and ask if there's anything they can get you such as beverages or snacks. I came in for a cut and highlights. My stylist name was Jenna and she did such an awesome job. I wasn't really sure what I wanted but she did a great job of explaining exactly what she had in mind. Also if you go on Tuesdays you get $20 off of hair coloring. They seem to be busy almost every day of the week so make sure you call ahead to make an appointment! read more

EDIT: Immediately after posting this review Jennifer, the salon owner, contacted me via text. She asked me to come in so she could take a closer look at the cut and perhaps fix it. I went back to the salon yesterday and met with Jennifer. She was professional and kind and agreed that this was a really bad haircut. Jennifer listened to what I wanted and asked several pertinent questions. When we agreed on how I wanted it cut and the expectations I had we began. She conditioned my hair then proceeded to straighten out the jagged edges and worked on framing my face correctly. I am pleased with the service and the final result. Jennifer went about and beyond to correct the problem in the most professional and friendly manner possible. I have updated my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. I will return to Hair Graphics if I can have Jennifer take care of my locks, she was excellent. I am growing out my dyed blonde shoulder length locks. I am not a lover of hair salons or haircuts so my ends were dry and brittle. I just needed a trim. I found a Groupon for this salon and choose them because it was close to me and had great reviews both here and at Groupon. I made my appointment and the receptionist scheduled me with Maggie. She's a cute little red headed girl with gorgeous makeup. I explained that I wear my hair parted to one side and use a large curling iron to just turn the ends under a bit and give a bit of body. My hair is thin and fine so no body to it at all. I always get long layers cut into it with it gently layered around my face to accentuate the look of a smooth cut that allows for some body and flow. Maggie seemed to understand this and was confident and sweet. She washed, conditioned and massaged my scalp. Then she sections my hair off and started cutting. All the while she's cutting she's talking to me and I'm chatting back. I learned that Maggie is 19 and says she's been doing hair for a year. I noticed that she never asked me to keep my chin on my chest as is always asked by other stylists for my cut. She never asked me to sit straight and still like other stylists. I noticed Maggie never pulled the ends together in front of my face to check the length and symmetry. I could see she was taking off the inch we discussed so I thought maybe she was just really good. She took a lot of time drying my hair in sections and that was nice. She showed me my hair and it looked ok but I didn't have my glasses on and was in a hurry to meet my husband. When I got to my car I noticed it was a bit crooked but planned to call the salon and let Maggie fix it or perhaps I'd just snip that long tendril off. I came home and went to dinner with my husband. I went to the ladies room and noticed my hair. After being outdoors the little bit of body from the hair dryer was gone and I could see the cut itself. I cried. It's horrible! It is very crooked, part of my hair at my face on one side wasn't even cut at all so it's way longer on one side than the other and the cut itself, all the way around, looks like a first grader did it with safety scissors while blindfolded. WORST HAIRCUT I'VE EVER HAD!!! I'm certain that others have ended up with this horror and I'm sure there's some sort of manager at the salon. Why in the world are they not doing any training or quality checks on this girl? I've gotten better haircuts at cosmetology schools. Never, ever again. The sad part is my Groupon was for $17 and I tipped her $20. It's gonna cost me another $50 to get this horror fixed. Never again. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! I called in after reading all the rave reviews and am so glad i did. I was connected with Tasha who is fabulous!! She is sweet, friendly, professional, knowledgeable and got my hair to exactly what I was hoping for. The salon itself has great style! There are over 10 stations it seems and they have this beautiful open floor plan. They keep it clean, tidy, and the front staff (Kristen) are great. They sell Bumble and Bumble as their main product line it seems. I loved that I wasn't pushed to buy anything but when i did ask they gave me great recommendations. I have so much to say about this salon but I will try to keep it short. In a nutshell, this place is amazing. It's quite the hidden gem. Had I not been referred by an old friend, I'd never have know about it (it's kind of tucked away) and that would be a tragedy. This place deserves to be recognized. After I checked in for my appointment, the receptionist offered me water or coffee. Yes, coffee. There's a Keurig here. That alone had me screaming SOLD! In case you can't tell, I'm quite the coffee addict. Anyway, I've only seen Joy and while I have no doubt that everyone here is amazing, I don't want anyone else to touch my hair. I used to go to this salon but only for the hair stylists and not for the ambiance. I had been here multiple times to get my hair cut and dyed, both of the stylists that I became a regular of were AMAZING. Too bad those girls didn't stick around because I haven't gone here since and it's a bummer. Clients really can sense when there is drama and bad stuff going on in a salon. Hair Graphics is a spacious salon next to Pembroke Mall. It's a little be hidden in the shopping center behind the shopping center with the Michael's. Ashley was my stylist and she was so friendly and helpful. I'm always a bit iffy about cutting my hair short since I have a bit of a round face and certain styles just don't work. Ashley talked me through exactly what she would be doing with my hair. She also didn't use a lot of products in my hair, but the stuff she did use left it soft and light feeling (that could have come from the 10 in. that came off...). It's very easy to schedule an appointment here also. A couple of days a week they work later hours so I'm able to go after work. And they also open early so I've gotten an 8AM appointment on a Saturday before. read more

Jen is attentive, positive and honest with her clients. I always feel like I am in the best hands when I come to her salon. I came here first at the end of March and then a few days later in early April, and I've been debating on writing this review ever since. I don't necessarily like reviewing hair salons, simply because each stylist is different and shouldn't always reflect the salon as a whole. However, I'm hoping that this review will help someone else in the future, so I decided to go ahead and write it. It's going to be a long one, so bear with me. I was deep into a job search after graduating college and I was looking forward to having some interviews in the near future. I decided that going into an interview with my hair in the state that it was would just not be appropriate (it WAS platinum blonde, but I had about an inch and a half of my dirty blonde roots coming out and it was not an attractive look). After searching high and low for a decent salon in my area, yelp reviews told me that Hair Graphics would probably be my best bet, and that I should request a stylist named Joy. So that is exactly what I did. The only problem being that I was immediately told I could not be placed with Joy because she wasn't taking new clients. So I was placed with Meghan. I said that was fine and made my appointment for a consultation. The consultation went great. Meghan was very sweet, and I was only there for 10 minutes. I told her what I was thinking, which was to do a sort of natural looking ombre/balayage combination using the platinum and my natural color, so that my roots could continue to grow out and I wouldn't have to worry about rushing off to the salon as soon as I got a job interview. She told me that this wouldn't be a problem, we made my appointment for 2 weeks after the consultation, and off I went. Fast forward to the appointment. Meghan was very friendly and got to work quickly. Somehow, the appointment still managed to take forever. I'm not sure if I've ever had a hair appointment last that long. After everything was said and done, the dye was finished, cut done, and hair blow dried, I put on my glasses (I'm blind as a bat without them) to find my hair a strange dingy platinum streaked with brown. It in no way looked remotely natural, which we had discussed, and the brown was about 10 times darker than my natural root color, which was completely missing the point. I don't know if I was just in a state of shock or what, but I just paid the ridiculous amount that I was charged for my hair (more than I've ever paid for my hair before) and walked out of there without saying a thing. In hindsight, I really wish I had, but I'm not sure that I even realized how incredibly dark it was until I was out in the sunlight. In addition, when I got home, I realized that the color was incredibly splotchy. I'm not sure if she had never done bayalage before or what, but it did not come out right at all. So after looking at it and stressing about it all night long, I immediately called the salon when they opened the next day and asked for Meghan. I expressed all my concerns to her. She argued that it wasn't splotchy (I was looking right at it, even my usually unobservant husband could see it was) and that the brown would fade (brown does not fade to my natural dirty blonde color). She told me to give it until Monday and call her back. To say that I felt blown off was an understatement, and I hung up the phone after our conversation feeling very unhappy. I'm assuming she realized this, because she later had her receptionist call me back and pencil me in for 3 days later. Those few days with that horrible streaky, blotchy hair was terrible. I refused to go anywhere that I didn't absolutely have to. Finally, Saturday came and I went back in. Meghan was still very friendly about the whole situation, and said she would do what she could to fix it. Here's what really bothered me though: she told me several times that day that she had never used that particular dye before and didn't know how it would turn out. This really irked me. I had expressed how important this hair color was and that I had interviews coming up. I should not have been the guinea pig for this new dye. Not for as much as I was paying her. All in all, she managed to tone the brown down to a strange kind of strawberry blonde...which is still not what I wanted, but I could work with it at least. It's still splotchy, though less noticeable with the lighter color. I left the salon feeling not exactly thrilled, but at least a little better about how I looked, and knew that I would not be back. Thankfully, I got the job and I'll be finding somewhere else to get my hair done next time. Overall, while Meghan is a very sweet person, I'm not sure that she listens to her clients very well, and I'm not sure that she's the person you want to go to for anything more than the simplest of dye jobs. read more

She would do as Joy said but the next visit go back to what she wanted to do. This las time she left the chemical in my hair too long and I burned very bad. Scalp oozed for weeks. I am so grateful that I met Jen at Hair Graphics. After going thru chemotherapy and radiation for breast cancer I developed baldness on the top of my scalp. Other salons recommended extensions but this emphasized the thinness. Jen suggested a fall which is a partial hair piece. Everyone loves it and it has made me feel so much more confident. I'm new here and was sooo desperately trying to find a hair salon. I first went to the Image at Haygood and left completely unsatisfied. I was adamant about not wanting to leave with black hair but wanted to try the new ombre highlights. Mind you, I went in with light brown hair and left with the darkest shade of black hair and random strands of dark brown hair. THANK GOD I found this salon and more than anything I found Joy, one of the owners of the salon. She listened to exactly everything I wanted and gave me exactly that. I came in on a busy Saturday for an eye brow wax after seeing the good reviews from others. The receptionist was no where in sight but Meghan, a stylist, was nearby and happy to help. When the receptionist finally came in, she saw me sitting there waiting and said nothing to me. She did inform Meghan that her next client had cancelled so Meghan took it upon herself to help me out and did the wax herself. Meghan was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I'm new to the area and still searching for a hair stylist and cannot wait to try Meghan out. When checking out, the receptionist was finally back at the desk and checked me out. I went in here after reading all the good reviews. Needed a new look but was very unhappy. I got the groupon which assigns a hair stylist for you. The lady seem pretty nice and after showing her some pics of what I wanted she seem pretty confident and I became confident in her as well thinking my hair would be something close to the pic. At the end my hair was pretty much all one size, which is not what I wanted and the style was not close to what I wanted. Also blowing up my hair, my hair was pretty frizzy, not sure why as it was supposed to be straight. I liked the attention but was a little upset because my new hairdo was not what I wanted. Yikes. I went to this salon because they were offering a Groupon, but my attempt to save money ended up costing me more than double after I had to go to another salon to have my color corrected. I saw Ashley, who was very sweet, but really did a number on my hair. I asked for "natural looking highlights that get lighter towards the bottom" (you know, like EVERYONE has right now?) I told her I definitely wanted to keep some natural at the bottom, but she insisted that the only way to do it right was to put bleach on the ENTIRE bottom 2/3 of my hair. The result was a stark line above my ears and then a super dimensionless blonde all around the bottom. When I panicked a bit, she put lowlights in (great, fine idea), but they were a blackish brown, rather than my natural color of red. She offered to fix it on another day, but I just felt I couldn't trust her after the original fiasco. Live and learn, I guess. read more

After multiple bad haircut experiences in the area, a friend referred me to this salon. My stylist's name was Meghan. Super friendly person and all in all she did an awesome job with my haircut! The only reason this is not a 5 star review is because she did go quite a bit shorter than I had asked....but other than that it was totally worth the money! The relaxing head and neck massage during the shampoo was absolute heaven! Plus she's the only stylist that has ever actually complimented my at-home color job rather than scolding me for doing it myself and trying to get me to schedule an appt so she can "fix it". It seemed as though Meghan, along with the other stylists at Hair Graphics, were genuinely concerned about actually helping their clients rather than just making some extra dough. I am a little torn writing this review because I was really excited to come here due to the reviews I had read prior. I purchased a Groupon for their Partial highlight package and made an appointment for a couple days before I was traveling. They had to call and reschedule it twice for various reasons and it ended up being the day of my flight, which wouldn't have been an issue in itself, but it ended up becoming one. When I called to schedule the appointment, I asked for a veteran stylist who had experience with coloring around tape in extensions. When I arrived, I was greeted by a 19 year old who had to be walked through the entire highlight process by the owner. My stylist took an hour to apply about 20 foils and I had to ask her to color the pieces around my ears 3 separate times because there were huge chunks that had been left out. She also wasn't comfortable toning my hair with the extensions so my roots ending up turning from brown to this awful orange color. The whole process took about 3 hours. She was very nice but I really wish they hadn't given me the least experienced technician in the salon just because it was a Groupon. I'm sure this place is fine if you pay full price, but I'd buy a Groupon for somewhere else. I will not be returning. read more

I had a five star quality experience at Hair Graphics! I booked an appointment via their website which was very easy and convenient to do. FYI, the salon may be a tad difficult to find as they are located in the back part of a shopping center and their sign isn't that large. Just go past Michael's and you will find the location. Anyway, the salon is clean and has a fun atmosphere. Ashley was my hairstylist. She was very friendly when she greeted me. She did a great consult; she knew what look I was going for and easy to talk to. Also, my hair is very sensitive so I requested a sulfate-free shampoo which she was more than willing to accommodate.Then, as she finished she gave me excellent hair tips and products suited to my needs. I love this salon. I popped in one time, while shopping in the pembroke area. I had been with a very pricey hair shop for several years, but was in need of a touch up and my stylist was out of town. I was so impressed with the staff and the wonderful stylist, Tasha, that I haven't been back to my previous salon since. Growing out my pixie cut has been a challenge. I went to this place about 8 weeks ago and wasn't sure what to expect. However I was very pleased with the environment of the whole place, the employees are very sweet and they even offer you coffee (which is always a plus for me). I wanted to get my hair lightened but was told that because I had used a dark box dye that it would be very difficult to do. I went ahead with whatever they could do and was very pleased, it wasnt as light as I had hoped but that was my fault honestly. its definetly not a cheap place to go but I have very long hair and they did a lot to it. The woman who did my hair DID NOT CUT ALLOT OFF I was so scared she would because I have had bad experiences with that in the past but I was very greatful that she respected my wishes to literally only take a little off. So imagine after reading some reviews, making an appointment and on the day of, walking into a salon you have never been in before and being greeted right away with a smile from the stranger who is ultimately coloring and chopping up your hair. It's nerve wracking to say the least. I have been on the hunt for a hairstylist for a while and after the results of my last attempt to have the perfect hair was not met, decided to try again. Tasha listened to my hair requests carefully and then made some suggestions based on my current color. She did an amazing color and cut on my hair over the next 3 hours and my only complaint about anything was how sore my bottom end was after a long hair appointment (I knew it was going to be a while, but forgot to tell my bottom). It was truly the best haircut I've ever had. The color was exactly like I wanted it and I couldn't be happier. I had "Hollywood" hair and strutted and flaunted it all day. I left the salon feeling amazing and isn't that all we ever really want out of our haircuts?! Oh yeah....The building is nice, plenty of room, clean and all that jazz....But who cares?
