I had my first haircut with Minty about six weeks ago. My hair is short and the cut was decent. Last week, I went in for a specific haircut and showed Minty a photo of what I wanted. I paid for a "Signature Cut" from stylist Anna but received an "institutional cut" such as you might get at an orphanage. In a rush Anna dampen and combed out my hair and assaulted it with electric shears. With straight hair her haste might turned out okay, but I have curly hair. Cutting my hair as if were grass means that when my hair dries and my curls return there are bald spaces. Cutting curly hairs requires mainly using hand scissors with the exception of the neck and sideburns. Anna never asked me how I wanted my haircut. She disagreed when I stated: "You are cutting too much." "Fortunately" it's winter I can wear caps and hats to camouflage the damage. read more

I came for a root touch up. I notice the stylist got the dye on my face and arms. She didn't put any vaseline around my face. I wish I remember he name so I can tell you guys not to see her. Upon check out the hair stylist charged me for long hair blow out when I didn't ask for it. All I ask was for root touch up only. They are sneaky trying to bill you out for more then you did and try to sell you their products which is annoying. I have been going to this salon for years. I have always asked for Lahn, one of their more senior hair stylists. During my last visit, while getting my hair colored and cut, I had to endure her political rants about the democratic party. She said that Biden was a communist because he spent so much time in China. She commented that democrats can't be trusted. With tip, I paid over $150 to be propagandized by Lahn. Huong was very friendly and professional. She was also very quick with my haircut and blowout. What I didn't appreciate was the fact that I booked the Tea Tree VIP which included a Blowout. Huong did the blowout, but then added an extra charge for a Long Hair Blowout at checkout. I would have been fine paying for the blowout had I known it wasn't included in the Tea Tree VIP I booked, but I specifically booked the Tea Tree VIP because it included a blow out. Communication is a big issue in this location. I asked to have 8 inches cut off, a ruler came out, the stylist and I agreed on the length ... and she cut 3 inches more off. The same thing happened with my daughter - who is now in tears. The computer system is new - which is the only explanation I received after 25 minutes of 3 stylists staring at the computer and not explaining what was going on. I was also charged full price for two haircuts - one person got a shampoo, one got a spray bottle ‍ I recommend you go elsewhere. I went to this location today. They claimed their credit card machine was not working. She took my credit card and asked how much I would like to tip. The hair cut was $23 for a mens hair cut. When asked what I would l like to tip, i said $7. That is well over 20 percent. She indicated that she could not offer a receipt after taking my credit card from me and manually entering the information. Im a 40 year old male that has a significantly thinning hair, so the cut and wash took all of 10 - 12 minutes AFTER all of the stylists sat in front of me arguing who was actually going to help me. The bad haircut is one thing... but when I got home and looked at the charge, she charged me $9 for the tip. Not only are these people horrible at their craft, they are also dishonest. Avoid at all cost. We don't need anymore dishonest people in this world and we should not support these businesses. Until this business changes their way, it should be avoided. The people that work here disgust me and I am sorely disappointed to call them citizens of our community. read more

She has been cutting hair for 20 years so she knows what she is doing. Sometimes with these places it seems like it is the person's first job, but that is not the case with her. I was in Franklin Farm location in Reston VA. Stylists at this are very rude and loud. Most of them speak foreign language across the salon to one another. That I can ignore however a stylist who is oblivious of common courtesy is unforgivable. Her name is Naomi. She was cutting another person next to me. When spraying water on his head most of it hit me, she bumped Into to me multiple times, and even when cleaning her tools brushing the cut hair on her tools toward me. And NOT ONCE did she apologize or smile to show she was apologetic. These young girls need to learn manners. read more

unless you want orange yellow blotchy highlights, dont go here. i went in for a partial highlight. Tim destroyed my hair. he did not cover my roots and then did not only a really messy and blotchy foil but bleached the hell out of hair, did not tone it at all and sent me on my way with orange yellow hair. Basically instead of a foil highlight I have a yellow streak running down the middle of my hairline. im so upset and spent the whole day embarrassed to leave my house. sad, because ive had nothing but positive experiences here in the past. they've been dying my hair for years and I've always left very happy! I rarely write reviews but today is one of those days that deserves this post. Took both my daughter and son to this Haircuttery to get their hair trim before vacation and I ended up got my hair colored also. Why? Because the stylist that worked on my children's hair was awesome! My kids really like her attitude and I love what she did to my hair. Oh I forgot to mention that my neighbor recommended I take the kids here instead of Cartoon Cuts, and I'm glad I did. The shop was busy but I didn't mind waiting for my turn after my children had their cuts. Our stylist name is Lisa and she seemed to be in high demand from other customers. I came here for a simple trim/haircut and asked to make my haircut not look so blunt. However, the man who cut my hair (his name was Tim) seemed very inexperienced and did not seem like he knew how to cut a woman's hair. Because I didn't get a blow dry, my hair was wet afterwards so I couldn't tell how UNEVEN my hair looked until it was dry. It was the WORST haircut I've EVER received. All around, my hair was just so uneven and it looked like a kindergartner had cut it. I came back the next day and asked if they could fix it and they did say they could but when I came back the next day, they asked if I could come back again because they were busy atm. And then I came back and they asked me to come back ANOTHER time and kept doing this to me so eventually I gave up on getting my hair fixed. I used to go to high end salons but been going to different Hair Cuttery's lately to save money. I went to this location for the first time a few days ago hoping and praying that I would find someone better than my last place. MY STYLIST WAS VINCE. He did exactly what I wanted, and the end result was way better than I expected. He really surprised me with his skill and attention to details. The technique he used to cut my hair really made my dry lifeless bleached hair come to life. He cut and blended the layers in a way that really softened up the look of my hair. I personally had never had anyone at a Hair Cuttery cut hair with so much attention and technique. There are no choppy ends, everything blends so nicely, and looks modern. I already had some layers in my hair but nothing liked the fabulous job Vince did. Feels like a $100 haircut. :) My hair is a lot more easier to style now that it's cut right. Or I can just wash and go with a little styling cream and it still look so much better and stylish than before. What a difference a good haircut makes! Thank you Vince for an awesome job!
