As usual, Angelina is five stars out of five, simply the best. I had a hair cut and bang trim along with some hair coloring done. The whole experience was relaxing and very pleasant. And ... she knows what she is doing. I trust her with my hair style. Hair Prince remains very nicely decorated. See my new photos. In the bathroom they even give some flourish to ... the toilet paper roll! Some hair dressers are dog lovers, and so the light switch for example has a doggy sticker above it. Nice salon with friendly staff and decently reasonable prices! Hairdresser Kate was very attentive to my requests and cut my hair exactly how I asked. In my experience, it's hard to find hairdressers who will actually comply with requests for how much hair to cut off and often cut too much, so I was very happy and relieved to keep my long hair while getting rid of the dead ends. The service was great, timely, clean and professional. Appointment was no problem and the staff and stylist were very nice. The issue is the haircut I received. I asked for a permed wolfcut/mullet (im a guy, see images below) and got a cut WAY shorter than what I communicated to my stylist (Jennie). Updating my review for Hair Prince after my most recent experience with Angelina. I am very impressed with Angelina and her dedication to her craft and attention to detail. I got highlights and a haircut this time and it turned out exactly what I requested. She really takes her time and is extremely thorough throughout the process. The staff and receptionist were so friendly and warm. I was offered snacks, and I was checked on constantly throughout the evening. Angelina is awesome! She really knows her stuff. I came to her 10 months ago to get my hair straightened on top to get rid of the fizziness and add some curls to the bottom. Unfortunately, the person who last did my hair damaged it too much so Angelina's attempt to perm the bottom of it did not take. She was very professional and explained that if we let it grow out and try again, it would be a better outcome. She even re-did the whole cut, a different perm to straighten it out (since the whole curling thing didn't work), and stayed late to make sure it looked like I meant to do that. Didn't charge me extra and we agreed to meet again later. 10 months later, I came back and it turned out great! Amy was amazing! She took care of me so well. I have thick, curly (almost kinky hair) and it's hard to manage. But she did the straightening perm with the c curls on the bottom. I've never had hair this manageable and beautiful. It took 5 hours and it's not cheap but the hair was better than the perm I did in Korea last year so it's well worth it. I have been going to hair prince since the last 3 years and never had any issue before but today that changes! I booked an appointment for a haircut and had to cancel it 1 hr before as I have a new born and my timings revolved around her. I was charged 25$ for cancellation fee!!! First thing- I was never communicated about the cancellation fee in all these 3 years and this came in as a shock to me. You should have mentioned about the fees when I called to book the appointment so I would have decided if I want to book the appointment or not. Kudos You lost a long time customer! read more

Angelina is the best. She's very nice, polite, and she has a good eye for hair style. I gave her the most basic information: a texture perm and a cut of 5-6" shorter. I left the rest to her. She decided what would look best on me, confirmed with me and went to town. Once done, everything turned out perfectly. The salon is nice, clean, and most importantly for me not noisy! They have some tea/drinks and snacks for the customers. Went in yesterday for a simple haircut ( I get my haircut maybe twice a year so I like to do some research to get a good one) I called in the AM to see if they had any open slots during the day. I guess Tuesdays arnt that busy and I was able to go walk in 15 min later. Luna was very welcoming, spoke on the softer side. But asked what I wanted, if I had any pictures to show and told me the health condition of my hair. She suggested numerous ways that I can improve the health and quality of my hair and things Ive been doing that hurt it. All of the products she used have a great aroma, smelling them even through the mask make me want to seek them out myself. All in all I didn't do anything fancy, just a trim of about 2 inches off the length, a conditioning treatment and some layers. $55 for the cut and blow dry before tip. Luna is very meticulous in her hair cutting. Im not sure I've had someone check, recheck and check again to see if the cut Is even. They gave me a different service than what I booked and requested, without asking or telling me. I called and booked a "relaxer;" I showed up and said "I'm here for my relaxer appointment;" I sat down and my stylist said "so you're here for a relaxer?" She consults with another stylist in a language I didn't understand, and I figured they were just discussing work stuff. Now I think they were discussing the relaxer and how they should do something different. But they never told me in my language. Then my stylist starts applying the solution to my hair. She's about halfway done when she says, "I'm so glad we're not doing a relaxer, it's much too harsh." I didn't want to say anything mid-service for fear that she'd mess up whatever non-relaxer she was doing. Internally I thought, "excuse me, WHAT??" I asked, "if this isn't a relaxer then what is it?" She replied, "well it's like a relaxer but it's more gentle, it's not a relaxer." So I let her finish, while I'm quietly SEETHING mad while she's doing the service. It turns out she did what I've heard called Japanese hair straightening. After the service, my hair looked good. I said, "I'm glad it looks good because this is NOT the service that I booked and you changed it without asking." Then they tried to tell me that it was the service I booked, that they had written down 'straight perm' and that's what this is. I know what a relaxer is. I know what Japanese straightening is. I've had both. They are different services, with a different process and different chemicals. And a different price-- a relaxer is less than half the price of Japanese straightening. And THEY KNEW what a relaxer was too, because my stylist SAID, "I'm glad we're not doing a relaxer." She changed the service without asking me or telling me, until it was too late, and I paid more than twice what a relaxer should've cost. Everybody has a bad day and makes mistakes, but this was too big of a mistake for me to gloss over, especially when they responded by telling me I was wrong and charged me full price. I don't cry about hair, but I cried about this. read more

Got the best haircut in a very long time ! My hair is naturally thick and super curly. But I wear it straight most days. So, whenever I get a regular haircut, the stylists usually wet my hair and proceed with the cut and then when I get back home and straighten it, almost every time it is lopsided or uneven. Hair Prince started with a dry cut , following with a hair wash (enjoy the thorough scrub and massage !) and then another cut and finally styling. I first had that experience in NYC and never was able to find anyone else doing that technique. It works for my hair .. that's all I can say. I cut my hair cut by Luna at Hair Prince back in October of 2022. Perhaps 'cut' is not the word I should use. Hacked? Sheared? Thinned beyond recovery? It is now March 1st, and my hair looks worse and feels worse than ever before in my 66 years of life. Yes, it is that bad. I have (had) short, fine hair. But every time I have gone to get my hair cut the stylist would remark, " Yes, you have fine hair, BUT you have a lot of it. You have good strong hair' NO more and what Luna did appear to be irreversible. She wanted to take some weight off my hair, which I agreed with, but have never seen this or underwent this method before. She cuts hundreds of tiny, very short pieces from hair. I didn't know better, I trusted Luna to know what she was doing and how the results would be. My hair is now thin, very very very thin, to my scalp thin, sick thin, and looks and feels like a shapeless mess. There is no layering. No style. It was done oddly, with sharp jabbing end points on hair that actually hurt. It was cut far too close to scalp. Why would anyone do this?? I have been afraid to even go to another stylist, I kept hoping it would grow out. In addition, I am partially disabled and have chronic illness and recently diagnosed with Long COVID. It is very challenging to make and keep appointments. The ironic thing is I went to Hair Prince for the first time in hopes of correcting a prior bad cut, and trusted Luna completely. I still do not understand why she would damage my hair to the point of irreversible. My 'good strong full head of hair' is forever gone. read more

I had perm + touch up grey hair. The reason i went there because my friend recomemd me. The perm - i have long hair, wanted loose wave with clean look. Showes her thw picture of style, she recomend stratening top and setting bottom. It took more time than i expect, because my hair was so dry, she did somethinf prevant the deeper damage. It turned out so beautiful and my hair look healthier. Because i really liked her work, i went back to salon 2 weeks later to dye/touch up the top. I had bad experience with other haor salon so i kind of know its not easy to touch to my type of hair, long, orignaly blak but changed to reallly light brown. Angelina spend almost 2 hours for just touch up the hair, its peefectly coverd. If anyone who is picky about hair as much as me, i would recomend to go Hair Prince.
