Yesterday, I had an appointment with May to get my hair colored before I was going to take some family photos this weekend. She said she could trim my hair too and I didn't fight her on it. The hair color came out great, but I wasn't sure about the hair cut. She had styled it before I left and I liked the airiness of the cut at first, but when I showered today, I thought it looked like I had a mullet :( I called this morning to see if I could get it fixed and I got an appointment at 2pm. I saw Anna and as I explained what I didn't like, she seemed to understand the issue. She sent me off for a shampoo and then showed me some photos to make sure she knew what I wanted (which I appreciated ). She worked quickly to cut the offensive mullet and transition the layers more naturally. While my hair is a lot shorter than I wanted it to be, I am so glad I went back to get it fixed. Next time I book, I'll plan to see Anna. In general, this place is reasonably priced for good, quick service and I will be back - I just recommend that you make absolutely sure that your stylist knows what you want

I think Sue did a great job, I just got the perm today, so we'll see how it looks in 2 days when I wash it. I felt that Sue was very meticulous and precise. Since I don't speak Korean the only thing she asked me was how much I wanted to cut, and where I do my part. For better or worse, she took it from there ((I don't do very much for my hair, I usually get two haircuts a year, and the last time I got a perm was over five years ago.))

I had to pull up my call history on my cell phone to prove that I made an appointment. But Instead of helping me on the spot, she already booked other customers. I not only took time off work on Friday but I also had to drive 30 minutes out of my way to come to this salon, ONLY to be told that I didn't make an appointment. AND she did not ask if I wanted to reschedule. It was not only embarrassing to me around other customers but it was very unprofessional and shows that they are unorganized with their archaic booking system which is just hand writing their appointments on paper rather than putting it in a computer system. This salon not only has a history of double booking customers in the same slot, but I will 100% guarantee that you will wait at least 30 minutes when you arrive on time for your appointment. So unless you are free that entire day, you will be running late always. I only come in once a year for a hair appointment as a treat to myself and today was honestly VERY disappointing and a waste of my time off my busy work schedule.

The problem lies with the other employees and the issues that arise when there seems to be a backlog with waiting customers. If given the choice between May and the other women, definitely go with May. I've found the other women to be rather incompetent at following simple directions (e.g. numbers on the buzzers, tapered sideburns) and stubborn at accepting criticism/follow-up directions. So, just go with May. She is much more adept at speaking English, following directions, and cutting hair in general. The other issue arises when the store is busy and there are additional customers waiting for cuts. In those instances, it seems they are jumping at the bit to finish your hair as fast as possible and with little regard to how you actually want your hair cut. So, I'd try to avoid this place during the busy hours (weekend afternoons/nights), and go during the week if possible. In all, May is really quite fantastic the times she has been able to cut my hair, but my overall experience with her shop is quite, as Yelp puts it, "meh."
