My hair was a mess from a dying it at home from a box. I was in good hands with Raeghan. She let me know ahead of time that using a box dye could interfere with how the balayage might turn out. She did a test on a piece on the back to make sure. I like that she did not overpromise anything and she let me know what to expect along the way. The test went okay so we proceeded. I was there for 4 hours but it felt shorter because she made me feel comfortable. She left me know what was happening each step of the process and made sure I was comfortable. I will definitely be back and I loved the way my hair turned out. I highly recommend her! read more

PR at Partners - partial balayage - Hair Salons Near Me - Herndon, Virginia

Your mileage may vary based upon who cuts and colors your hair. Some techs are better than others. My 5 star choices here are: Jon and Pete for great men's hair. Jessica was fab for women's, but apparently PR chased her off and she's no longer there (she opened her own business with GlammbyJess in Herndon for former Jessica fans/customers). Kelly is REALLY good for fixing bad cuts and great with color. Stay away from Raeghan for cuts, but she is great for color/highlights. I don't know how she's the educator for cuts, but she's terrible at it. Uneven (like 1 inch shorter than the other side) and jagged. Fab for color and highlights, but oh man, pick someone else for the cut. PR Partners - I like Raeghan, but get her some better training in the styling department. read more

I had my hair done by Judi a few weeks back and am still super happy with it. I've had pretty much every color of the rainbow on my head, and was blonde not that long ago (natural color is a really dark brown with lots of grays on my temple). She took amazing care of me. She made sure that my hair was exactly the color I wanted and even though it's slightly damaged (not her doing), she made sure I left the salon looking like a million bucks! My hair feels healthier, she recommended some products that I LOVE and I have been getting compliments left and right on my new color. I can't wait to go back and see her in a few weeks! Highly recommend! read more

This is the worst hair salon ever ! No respect for the time. They sent a reminder and when I went the organizer lady said "I don't know what should I say. She is not coming. I have nothing to offer you' Why they sent a reminder if she is not coming. They didn't even apologize for my time and the drive I had to come. I will never come again My friend told me that happened with her last week.. I am so disappointed read more

Very professional! Julie did my haircut and result was what I expected. A bit expensive bit worth it. Would definitely recommend it!!!

I took my daughter to get a few highlights around her face with a photo of the cook blonde color to the stylist. The highlights were an orange-yellow despite being toned. We returned for a fix and still the same results. My hair is naturally doctor and my stylist at a different salon doesn't leave me with yellow-orange brassy hair. The stylist, Jessica, said that's the best she could do. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. read more

Experience was awful.I talked with regan to do my hair balayage. My hair is short.I asked her how much will cost for full balayage, root touch up and spiral. She told me everything will cost $300.As per their website I saw full balayage is $150-$170 but she asked me $200 and root touch $65 which was ok and she asked me &35 for hair tone.whereas every saloon do in this in their balayage package. Before my appointment I asked her to consider her price then I can do otherwise I'm doing this in another saloon ,First she disagree I accept that but later she call me back and said she will consider her cost. When I was in the saloon to take the service I several times asked her to make sure she can make the color I what asked for,she said she can do that. But when everything is done she said the same didn't came out I need to come for another session which will $300.after that her behavoir changed she was very much rude.and eventually she did nothing. She did highlight in my hair...root touch up she fuu oh don't asked me what color I use.she just played with customer emotion and theft my money. Never recommend this saloon. They are nothing but thief. No service. read more

Mandy was amazing and I got my best haircut in YEARS my first time here!! Will definitely be going back again.

Raeghan has been my stylist for a year now. She is very professional and extremely sweet. Her prices are very reasonable and her times are flexible as she will try to work with whatever schedule works for you. I had started out with box black dyed hair and she has been able to turn my hair to a beautiful Carmel balayage without compromising my curly hair. She also educates you on what products are best for your hair to help maintain your color and keep it staying healthy. I've had recommend my own family to go to her and everyone has loved their hair and the price you can't beat! If your looking for a new stylist I highly recommend Raeghan!! read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! This is the second time they have canceled my appointment and claim to have told me about it, only to have nobody contact me at all. This salon will never see another dime from me. Ridiculous. I spent half an hour scraping the snow off my car today for absolutely no reason. I am beyond pissed. read more

I have waited way too long to write this review, but I didn't want it to get too hard to get an appointment (and I've been busy, geeze!). I have been seeing Nicole D. for almost three years now and I will never go to anyone else as long as I can keep from it. My roommate works at a nice salon and has offered to get me free services many times, but I always go back to Nicole. It all started when, unemployed, I went to Hair Cuttery out of desperation before an interview. I still can't explain why, but they dyed my dirty blonde hair dark brown (instead of a "touch up" like I asked for) and gave it a horrible, uneven cut. There were still blonde streaks through the back and some very unique green spots. I cried. A lot. An emergency appointment with Nicole, a head full of foils, and three hours later, my hair looked fantastic and I had a new stylist. She helped me find a great style that fits my face and works both with a hair iron and with my natural curls. My hair is very thick and unruly, but I get compliments all the time now and I don't spend more than 15 minutes on it in the morning. Nicole feels like a friend and I always look forward to seeing her because A) my hair won't look like I went three months without getting it cut (because I did) anymore and B) I get to dish about me and hear what's going on in her life. I recently left my job and returned to school, so my income is what is called "nonexistent." I was worried I wouldn't be able to see Nicole anymore, but she worked with me to cut some corners (a full dye vs. highlights, etc) so that I can have fabulous hair and still afford to eat. I should also mention that I my mother lives in Louisville; she loves my hair so much she comes to see Nicole when she is in town. I am always impressed because Nicole gives her a fun, modern haircut that is still age appropriate. It makes her look at least five years younger, but she doesn't look silly or like she's trying too hard. read more

We all know the struggle of finding (and sticking) with someone you trust and listens to you about what you want and the process it'll take to get there. This is my go-to salon and my go-to stylist is Judi. I've gotten my hair done by Judi a handful of times now and she is by far my favorite stylist I've been to. I am naturally blonde but like platinum balayage and Judi has gotten me where I want to be and HAPPY every time. It's hard to get the perfect blonde but she gets it done without a hitch; if you're a fellow blonde looking for someone you can trust and will listen to you, I highly recommend Judi. I often don't get my hair cut (mostly out of fear) but she has cut my hair twice now and I've again been HAPPY (if you know me and my hair, you know what I'm talking about). Can't wait for my next appointment. THANKS JUDI! read more

Go see Patricia Guerrero. I have gone to many places and she is excellent. You will be happy with what you pay for. I also love that she got me on the Kerastase line. Pat will teach you how to use the products and do your hair in different ways. I am always very satisfied when I leave there. Thank you, Pat! read more

I've been meaning to update this review for awhile. Adam is great! He's been my hairstylist for about 2 years now. Go see him!

I was very pleased with the service I received at PR at Partners today. I am a busy mom of 2 small babies and a crazy work schedule so when I called last minute to see if they had an opening thankfully they were able to squeeze me in! They also quoted me the price over the phone which I liked because there wasn't a surprise at the end to find out how much the cut would be. I was scheduled with Mandy and she was fantastic! I arrived with more hair than k knew what to do with. It has been over 3yrs since my last hair cut and my length was crazy long it was almost long enough for me to sit on it. Mandy took the time to work with me on what I wanted (short but not a "mom" haircut). Shampoo and condition was nice but having to brush out the massive amount of hair took time but she was thorough and gentle about it. Mandy took off a good 8 plus inches off of my hair which is no small task but she took her time and the results were so worth it! My cut looks amazing! I have movement slight curl again! Best part is my husband is happy and I'm sure I will no longer be getting my hair stuck in doors or getting food in it! I will be returning (hopefully sooner than 3yrs) and will be scheduling again with Mandy. read more

There is only one reason why this review is getting more than one star and that is Yoana! If I could review her alone I would give her 5 stars!!! Went in the spring, hair was need of cut and color, decided to give this place a try since it was on my way home from work. So much regret! The cut was meh but the color was bad -- looked great on my head but jeez she got it all over my ears, back of my neck, forehead and midnight black is not something that blends in. I was especially irritated because I asked the stylist (I don't remember her name) to wipe up a small fingerprint she left on my forehead when it happened and she just told me that she would get it off later when all she did was style my hair over it but I didn't notice this until I got home. I called back the next day on my day off and asked to speak with the manager, who I think is Sharon, and instead of treating me like a valued customer she made me feel like a jerk for calling and complaining. My neck and the tops of my ears were all black and it wasn't coming off with regular soap and water and I was embarrassed to go to work. She asked me to come in later that day and they would take care of it for me, but I could tell from her attitude that she wasn't happy, in fact, part of me really didn't even want to bother from the way I was being treated. When I got there and gave the receptionist my name she went from friendly to ice queen, "Oh, hold on" and disappeared. That's when Yoana came out and I am so glad she did. From the moment she appeared she was very friendly, polite and seemed concerned about my dye problem, even apologetic. Yoana gently washed my hair again, used a solution on the areas that had been accidentally dyed, and blow dried and restyled my hair making my meh cut from the night before look so much better. She agreed that the stylist should've done a better job to clean up the color stains on my skin -- the point is that even if she didn't agree and thought I was some psycho customer she treated me with the age old adage "the customer is always right" and made me feel like she did care about my hair. During this whole time did the manager stop by? Nope, and she was definitely there, working at a station just two away. I caught her eyeballing me a few times and tried to prepare myself for some sort of exchange (I'm very non-confrontational so the idea that I even called to complain is huge), but nothing. No greeting, no apology, no check-in to see if I was a happier customer, no acknowledgment. So what I have to say about PR at Partners Chantilly is that if you do go there, don't waste your time with anyone except Yoana. She didn't cut or color my hair, so I can't rate her on that, but her customer service is at least excellent. I see several other positive reviews on here for her and it's obvious that she's the real gem of this rather lackluster salon. read more

I recently moved and today was my first time getting my hair done anywhere but this salon in 4+ years. The whole time I kept thinking "where the hell is Adam?" because he actually listens to exactly what I want. He's the best with color and always had great ideas and suggestions for new styles for me. I'll be driving an hour to go back here to have him (or anyone else at this salon) fix my hair after an upsetting appointment elsewhere. read more

I highly recommend Adam! I went today for the first time and he did an amazing job for an amazing price. It was only $35 and well worth it. You take a short questionnaire before hand and it's very helpful, they really get to know exactly what you're looking for. Couldn't be more pleased! read more

I've been going here for almost 10 years, so it'd be hard for me to give it anything short of a perfect rating. I go to Yoana for my hair, but I have also gone to Mandy and Jennifer in the past -- all top notch. I have curly hair, but it's never been a problem for them, I always get the haircut I wanted. They've also talked me off the ledge when it comes to color, or helped me pick a new style when I was out of ideas. I cannot fathom going anywhere else unless the current staff (long time employees) all left! Elena has done waxes and sugaring for me in the past - she's wonderful as well! read more

When Bebe cuts my hair, it looks fantastic and continues to look great as it grows out! I feel so much better with a Bebe cut. She has been cutting my hair for almost a decade. She is also great with color. When she does my highlights, I receive lots of compliments. As an added bonus, Bebe is fun to talk to and gives really good styling tips. I highly recommend getting your cut and/or color done by Bebe! read more

I began going to PR in DC back in the early '90s. I made a location change after I moved out to the 'burbs in 2003. I started going to see Mandy years ago when they were located in Chantilly. When Mandy left for maternity leave, I found Nicole and I've stayed with her ever since. I've been very happy with my cuts and highlights. I've referred four friends to Nicole! Since she has been become so popular, my appointments are often double-booked - which is okay because while I'm sitting under the heater someone else can be getting their hair 'did'. ;) The only thing that would make my experience better is if it didn't cost me so much. But since I've been going for years, I obviously think it's worth it. read more

I moved here about a year ago, and one of the scariest things about a new town is trying to find someone that "gets" you hair. I found it... first try! I have been seeing Christine here for the past year and my color and cut is always great. No mater how much I abuse and mistreat my hair with heat, she always makes it shiny and soft again! Great selection of styling products and never have to wait to long for an appointment... I can usually call and get in the next day because of their great hours! read more

I got my hair done here a couple of weeks ago. Being still relatively new to the NOVA area, I'm sure you can imagine how hard it is to pick a new salon based solely off some yelp reviews. But I am so glad I chose this place! My stylist was Anna, and she was completely in-tune with my wants & needs. I hadn't had my hair cut in an embarrassingly long time, so I was pretty much looking like a beast when I sat down in her chair. On top of that, I had some small idea of what I wanted the final result of my cut to look like, but honestly... I suck at giving a stylist any sort of meaningful guidance. I pretty much just poked at pretty pictures in some magazines and grunted. Anna took the time to go over the little survey they have you fill out as a new customer. She really took the time to understand what my personality is like, what I do for a living, spare time activities, etc. before setting to work on my hair. The end result was FABULOUS. I'm talking, top 5 haircuts I've ever had fabulous. I had a $10-off promo that I got from their website, so my cut only cost me $30. A complete steal, as I would have paid far more for the quality and attention I received. I will say this: Anna took her time with my hair, and I appreciated every second of it. But if you are looking for an in-and-out appointment, I don't know that will go over for you :) Needless to say, I will be going back. There aren't even any thoughts to maybe checking out another place. I didn't have color done while I was there, but I totally felt comfortable in this salon and plan to have any future colors done here. 5 stahs! read more

Elena for sugaring! She is gentle, patient, and very knowledgeable. She makes the waxing an experience and not just "something to do".

I've been coming here since I moved back to the DC area from NYC a little over two years ago. I've never had a cut, color, or customer service that I wasn't 100% happy with. I used to see Candace, who was fantastic, but she left so now I have my hair done by Kayla. She is also awesome! Not only does she make my hair look great but she's also really nice and funny. She recently cut my longish hair into a shorter, shoulder length bob based on a picture and a few things I said I didn't want my hair to look like... I've never been happier with a new hairstyle! It's cute and stylish and exactly what I wanted. Every experience I've had here has been wonderful, the prices are affordable, and I never have to wait a long time for an appointment. read more

I have been going to Christine for 2 years and I LOVE her. My first time with her was right before my 30th birthday and Christine went way above and beyond to make me feel pretty and style my hair way beyond just a haircut. She is always kind and friendly and very very accomodating. I always feel great when I leave the salon and Christine has managed to make me look good with different cuts/styles. I go to her right before any big occasion and as a result always have a "good hair day" at that event. Christine has also started cutting my 8 year old hair and treats her with a lot of respect too. I was 20 minutes late to my last appointment and was close to tears (I was afraid she would not be able to fit me in) as I was headed to a wedding and this was 2 days before Christmas. Christine still managed to fit me in, do a quick "dry" cut, CURL my hair and make me pretty AND do the same for my 8 year old. To top it all, when I went to pay they said there was no charge (at Christine's behest). If I did not have make up on to go to the wedding the waterworks would have begun. I am not a big crier but Christine's kindness felt like a Christmas miracle when the rest of the day/month felt overwhelming. ( I have 2 jobs and 3 kids). Thank you Christine. You have a client for life...so DO NOT MOVE!!! : ) read more

I used to get my haircut here all the time but the last few times I went were so terrible. I went in last week to get my haircut and since my previous stylist wasn't there anymore I tried someone new. I asked to cut about six inches off and for long layers. For some reason my stylist, Jessica, couldn't comprehend what that meant even though I showed her multiple times. It took her THREE TIMES to cut my hair to my desired length. Not to mention that it was completely uneven and didn't have long layers. She did such a terrible job I had to go back again to have someone fix it. It still isn't that great and I will never go back to this place. EDIT: just went through the older reviews of this place. Jessica created a fake account (Jennifer G) and POSTED A FAKE REVIEW OF HERSELF. I'm so done with this salon. That is pretty pathetic that your own employee doesn't have any positive reviews so they make their own fake review read more

I've searched long and hard for someone who can deliver on exactly what I envision, in a salon that is reasonably priced and one close to home. I wasn't quite sure this trifecta existed. I was almost certain that I was looking for a unicorn in Hair world. Well ladies and gents, Im happy to announce that I finally found my hair unicorn! I explained to Jessica exactly what it was I had wanted and what I would be aiming for long term. I've never left a salon so happy. My cut and color was PERFECT! Literally everything I've been wanting. Bonus, Jessica is super friendly and takes time getting to know you. I can't wait to go back! read more

Wow wow wow i have never been so disappointed in a hair cut in my life. The worst haircut ever, this young girl , very young cut my hair. I showed her a picture of what i wanted and i got a cut that a 5 year old could do. My hair is thick and she cut it straight across. Her manager was nice enough to offer to fix it the next day! Red flags were, she's young as heck, dropped the brush as soon as she started, was asking her manager how to cut it in a V shape like i wanted and TOLD ME THAT PR HAD HIRED ALL THE PEOPLE FROM PR BARBERS!!! Really? Nice management, you're hiring barber shop people with mostly lady clients?! Shame on the company to do so. Although her manager took really good care of his make client i just couldn't trust getting my hair done to a barber. Especially when i was doing it for such an important event. I won't say her name out of respect but let's just say she's named after a president....don't go here unless you know who you are going to. It took me weeks to decide to write this review because i didn't want to say anything bad but I'm still upset. Can't wait to get my hair fixed at another salon. Oh and after i told her i was not satisfied, she told me her consultation appointment was here so if i could come back later!!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS, I'm here now! So disappointed in this salon. Stay away. read more

I am from out of town but my daughter and granddaughter made me an appointment. I got Adam and I was so impressed as he listened to me and what I wanted and then cut it that way. My hair is short so before we left I got a second hair cut from Adam and it was as great as the first one. When we are in the area I will go to him again. Thank you Adam for listening and doing you best. I also appreciated he was friendly and visited with me but very professional. read more

If you want to play with color I strongly suggest seeing Sydney!!! She is super sweet and well educated and experienced on all things hair. Since I left the salon yesterday I've had three strangers tell me how great my hair looks. The last person... also in the beauty industry... said it looks like a commercial. That is all Sydney because God knows I don't typically spend much time on my hair. She has been very patient with my adventurous color requests. And so far every shade of red she does (I'm naturally light brown) everyone thinks it is my natural color and they envy it. Pretty funny. read more

Adam is awesome! I get beautiful wispy layers every time, and my hair is very easy to manage after his cuts. With past stylists, I'd have a hard time with my newly cut layers - my hair would never look right until it grew out a bit. Not anymore! Adam is great with determining what length would look best, and he has never over-cut my hair or bangs. He's fun to talk to too. Big thanks to Irene C. for the recommendation! read more

My skin is crazy sensitive. Shaving my legs gets me rashes of red spots that won't go away, and waxing has gotten me burns, allergic reactions to the "soothing gels," and the redness that lasts more than a week. On a friends recommendation I tried sugaring, and lo! a miracle: I had smooth, beautiful legs for the first time in forever. However, I am not patient or coordinated enough to do a thorough job at home, so I was thrilled when I found out that PR at Partners offered sugaring. When I showed up for my appointment, everything seemed to be going well. I doubled checked with the receptionist that I was booked for sugar, not wax, she verified, everyone seemed very professional and nice. It wasn't until I was half-naked and on the table when the waxer (sugar-er) casually mentioned, "Just let me get some spreaders for the wax...." that things got kind of weird. "I'm getting my legs sugared, not waxed." "Oh. I don't sugar legs." She told me that the wax was going to be fine, and even though I had already told her about the burns, reactions, etc., it took me getting up off of the table to convince her that I was NOT going to let her "just try" a full leg wax. She offered to do a patch test, which I said okay to. Thirty seconds after ripping off the strip, she said, "Okay, we'll wax?" Um, no. I said I wanted to wait at least 24 hours to see if my skin would react. As I was getting dressed, I told her that the website lists prices for leg sugaring, and that I had pestered the receptionist repeatedly to make sure that I was not getting a wax. If she didn't sugar legs, maybe she could clear things up with front of house? "Oh," she said, "I do sugar legs. I just don't have the right sugar on hand, because I don't usually sugar legs." I'm sorry, but bzuh? Did I enter bizarro-land? The whole thing felt really dishonest, especially since the price I was quoted was for sugaring, which is more expensive than a wax. No one ever mentioned to me that I was going to get wax instead of sugar. The only reason I caught it was from the waxer off-hand comment. Otherwise, I think she would have just come at me with the wax, counting on me not really caring enough about the difference. Even if the test-strip hadn't left me with a nasty red rash (which it did and which I TOLD her it would do) I wouldn't go back to this location. read more

I got my hair done by Kelly, who specializes in blonde hair. She completely transformed me during my appointment, I felt like something out of an early 2000s movie makeover scene. This was hands down the best salon experience I have ever had. She is a wonderful person and an amazing stylist. Quarantine hit me like a ton of bricks and has left me feeling so down about myself and my appearance, I know hair isn't the most important thing in the world but this really truly has had such an impact on my mental and emotional wellbeing. Kelly made me feel so relaxed and taken care of and gave me the hair of my dreams. I will absolutely being going back to her. read more

This review is specifically for Denise V. She is incredible. I have been a loyal client for over six years and wouldn't think of going to anyone else. Denise's eye for color and cut and her technique is unmatched. Not to mention she's just a great person to be around. She has taken me from a short bob, to long locks and everywhere in between. We've even done extensions. I live out of state and have tried to find people closer to me, they always comment on Denise's fantastic cut and color. However, they inevitably fail to even approach her caliber. For my wedding, Denise met me at 6am on the day to do the most intricate styling. I would follow Denise almost anywhere. read more

I went in to see Elena for a brazillian sugaring. I had gone to a woman before in Houston, Texas who is amazing and I was so worried that moving here, I would not find anyone good. I'm really sensitive, and sugaring is the best option for me. I have tried to get waxed once many years ago, but it was so painful that I had her stop half way. Anyway I went to Elena and she is wonderful. The technique was different than my last lady, but she got every little hair and my skin was not sore or red - she is amazing! She also made sure that I got my first-timer discount and charged me less than was originally quoted. If you keep going back to her, she will charge you around $40 dollars (not including tip), which is about $30 less than they quote you over the phone. If you go to any PR at Partners - just know that you need to pay cash for the tip. read more

I have been to PR at Partners twice. Those two times I got an adequate haircut. I can tell you that Thi is very thorough and is a good stylist (I don't remember the name of the lady I saw prior to Thi). What I am always looking for in a hair stylist is one that takes my pictures and descriptions and gives me something better than I can imagine because of his/her expertise with cutting. Thi gave me exactly what I asked for. The reason I'm writing now is because of our experience this past weekend. I received a referral discount card that my daughter wanted to use to get her haircut. We called the Chantilly location and asked if anyone was available today. The very inexperienced lady on the phone said they had two openings, one at 1:45 and one at 4:30. We chose the one at 1:45. Then we were put on hold and another woman got on the phone saying, "for a new customer, there is not enough time in this slot, so perhaps you can come next week." No we couldn't. So I said, "all she needs is a trim, we don't need the whole new customer experience, can't we just come in at 1:45?" And the woman, said, "fine." As I am relating this, please know that (1) the receptionist was so inexperienced she couldn't answer the question, "Can I use the coupon for a stylist other than Thi." And (2) the second woman had such an attitude, I would be embarrassed if she worked for me. All that being said, someone called 30 minutes before her appointment to cancel it. What? Apparently, they wanted to abide by the new customers need an hour rule, I guess. The lady that canceled the appointment was so matter-of-fact, that she might well have said, "we don't care about your business." The demeanor of the staff was either inexperienced or rude. I WILL NEVER GO TO PR at PARTNERS EVER AGAIN! I overlooked their idiotic rules about giving the customer recommendations about hair products, when the first stylist told me to "keep doing what you're doing." Really? I should use shampoo for color-treated hair and keep doing that? Well, gee thanks. I overlooked the fact that the stylist was late to my appointment, with nary a "sorry I'm late." Their salon is disorganized. It's messy and cluttered and not welcoming. The staff is not well trained (if at all) in customer service. PR at Partners Chantilly could use a visit from Tabitha's Salon Takeover! read more

My hair stylist Donna is amazing! I've been following her around to each location she's at. She was originally at McLean PR but now is at this location and I was so excited because this location is MUCH closer to where I live. She always listens to what I want done and always confirms before she makes a move. The atmosphere is a more home-y feeling and they are pretty much busy when I am there. The pricing is reasonable. Donna will make you feel great and brand new :) Will keep going to her until she retires haha. read more
