I've been a customer for several years now, Lea is skilled at mens cuts, she's meticulous with the scissor and instantly gets it when you describe the look you're going for, I noticed that whenever she cuts my hair, it grows out nicely- requiring haircuts less frequently then with a traditional barber. read more

I love this salon. When we moved down here, I had a hard time finding a good place for both cut and color. I tried and failed with 3 other places before finding Lea. My hair color was a mess. She knew EXACTLY what to do to fix it. She's also cut my thick crazy frizzy hair dry and when it was washed and blown out it was perfect! I don't know how she does that but she's the best. I had a salon I went to for years in NYC. They're the best and so is she. I won't be trying anywhere else. I found my girl. read more

Lea has been doing my hair for at least five years and my wife loves the results. I've had it long, short, medium and Lea's cuts always look sharp and are as easy to manage as possible. I have fine, wavy hair that likes to do random stuff but Lea's work solves a lot of problems for me. The products she recommends are top-shelf and nothing else works as well. It is obvious to anyone who sees her that Lea is dedicated to her craft. Whenever my hair gets out of shape, my wife says "It's time to see Lea!" read more

you did highlight for me in the begining of march . To this day, i still hate it every time when i am look in the mirror. I am in Europe right now, and it was important for me to look good, but now i have to hide my long hair in a ponytail . I asked you to make me blonde and brighter, but you made my hair darker. Now i am my hair is shiny, but color is dim/flat. As a result, I feel down , and very upset for almast 4 weeks. I paid 260$ And when i told you the result was not what i wanted, your answer was, that i am limited in money. I don't know why you insulted me, because i never ever said I was limited. I hate what you did to me..... and should have refused to pay you. Your welcome. read more

I just had to write a review for Lea. I have been going to her salons for years. After the Covid, I had to find a stylist that can color, blow dry, and provide straightening treatments. I have found Lea and she is the greatest in all three. I find that more often than not, hair stylist will not entertain chemical/straightening treatments. Personally, that does not work for me. Prices are also very affordable at this hair studio. As for me, I feel blessed to have found Lea and her hair salon. I highly recommend Lea for all hair types combined with unparalleled results. read more

Lea is an absolute pro. I've been to so many hair stylists in the area, PR, Alexander de Paris, bubbles, etc. Each time at other salons the cuts usually start out decent and get worse and worse. Not with Lea. I can literally bring her in a photo of something I would like to try and she does it. She really has a gift and a passion for this and it shows in her work. I drive 35 minutes out of my way to come see her and I don't see that changing anytime soon. She's well worth the drive because she stands by her work and does an amazing job. read more

I found Leas salon studio on a whim! She is so personable and has her own little studio room so you are comfortably socially distanced. She really listens to you and takes what you want into consideration. My hair lasted 3 months longer than normal and still looked lovely! I will be going back forever. read more

Lea came at a recommendation of a friend and I am glad that I took my friend's advice. I really enjoyed my haircut, we talked about what I wanted and also brought some pictures for inspiration and left the rest up to her. Probably the best haircut I've had in years! It is a very different cut then I would have gone for but she did it so well to suit my hair and face shape. Also, it was very pleasant to chat with her. read more

I just moved from DC and was unsure what to expect today. I've only ever felt mediocre about my DC haircut experiences, and my NoVa experiences are limited to childhood haircuts that almost always ended in tears. But I was so happy with my experience with Lea today that when I got home, I immediately logged onto yelp to share my great first impression. I was surprised that her studio was exactly that - smaller and meant for seeing one customer at a time, but not at all cramped. I'm a very social person, but the big salons can feel like an overcrowded dance club, which can be very over-stimulating for me. Lea is very professional, hardworking, and knowledgeable. This was evident by her in-depth questions, like how I care for my hair, how often do I get it cut, and details on how I would like it cut today. She simultaneously assessed my hair by feeling it's texture and testing it's movement, and gave me recommendations based my answers, her observations, and the pictures I brought. The cutting processes itself was very pleasant. We had a nice chat, but I never felt obligated to have a long conversation. She first cut my hair dry, which I've never experienced, but makes so much sense - I'm not wearing my hair wet all day, so why cut it when it's wet? She then shampooed and conditioned my hair and explained the products she was using as well as what products she'd use to style my hair. At no point did it feel like she was trying to sell me hair products, which earned massive brownie points since I'm a student and can barely afford bi-annual haircuts to begin with. On a similar note, the final price for the cut, shampoo and condition, blow dry, and hot tool styling was very affordable. And the haircut looked better than the more expensive, "high-end" DC salons I've experienced. TL; DR: Go to Lea for your haircare needs and you won't be disappointed. read more

I was extremely nervous to get my hair cut because usually, I feel like too much was taken off and the stylist didn't listen to my wants. Unlike the others, Lea was an overall amazing experience. She talked me through my hair type and what she thought would be best and even found pictures that she thought best fit what my hair would look like after. You could obviously tell she knew what she was doing and she was the best at it. While she was doing my hair, we held conversation and her people skills and personality made the trip so much better. At the end of my haircut, I was truly astounded at the amazing job she had done. My hair framed my face perfectly, the body was unlike anything I've had before, and it was the first haircut I didn't regret but instead enjoyed. The next time I get a haircut, I'm most definitely coming back to Lea and I recommend her to everyone. read more

Lea is super amazing! I was about to go to a conference and needed my hair cut and highlighted! She had an opening at 730 pm and didn't mind staying late doing my hair. She is very knowledgeable, creative and takes the time to talk to you about your hair. My hair has been bleached all over and she took the time to go through and create tiny individual highlights to create a more natural dimension! IM OBSESSED WITH THE RESULTS! My hair has never felt or looked so good and somehow magically my hair has so much volume! I can't say enough how amazing and talented Lea is! I can't recommend her enough read more

UDATE - I went back to Lea for coloring services! Since my hair was virgin and I never had it colored/dyed before, I wanted to go to someone I who I trust and knew what they were doing so I chose Lea again. After I booked an appointment with her, I sent her some Pinterest photos of my vision of the color I wanted. We then agreed to go for a full balayage. When I got to my appointment, I let her cut my hair first to take off the unhealthy ends and then she did a test on a small piece of my hair to test out the color (which is what every good hair stylist should do!). She then proceeded to balayage my hair and then I sat under a dryer and then she toned and styled my hair after. The result was beautiful! I was so pleased with the result and everyone I knew loved it! Lea also gave me some tips to care for my hair and answered all my questions and concerns. Trust me, she knows what she's doing and she's very good at it! This was my 3rd time seeing Lea and I am happy to recommend her for any hair care services! I will continue to go back to her again in the future! read more

Lea is the best for haircut . I've been going to her for regular haircuts and she does an amazing job

What can i say about Lea? I've been trusting her with my hair for years and I have yet to be disappointed. She has great insight and amazing talent, and the result is always on point and remarkable. I always receive so many compliments. She knows when it's time to get highlights or whether I should hold off. She never pushes me to do anything I don't want to do, and never pushes products on me. I chose her because I was looking for a very talented stylist, who is very personable and respectful of anyone, no matter who they are or how they identify. She actively listens and provides advice on what would look good on you. She is my one and only stylist, and I'm recommending her to anyone who wants their hair in good hands and want something beautiful. read more

I've been going to Great Clips/Supercuts my whole life and have only ever had 2 salon cuts before. Got my first ever really bad cut at Great Clips over the weekend and needed to get it fixed. Lea did so much better than either of the other 2 salons I've been to and it was clear she really knows her stuff. Her recommendations were great and my hair looks amazing! Don't think I'll be going back to my $15 walk-in cuts after this! Really convenient too--text for appointments after your first visit! read more

As a guy who's gone to generic barber shops most of his life, Lea's was a whole new experience for me. I've always been skeptical at the idea of paying twice as much for a professional to cut my hair. The couple times I've tried "real" salon chains, I've always felt "meh" about it. It's been a few weeks now since the cut and I've never been this satisfied with my hair before. She took the time to sit down with me and discuss what I was looking for. And the cut itself is an order of magnitude better than any barber shop cut I've ever gotten. read more

Leah is simply the best. My hair is so much healthier since coming here, and I love my cut and color. I have been going to Leah for about 9 months, and I wouldn't consider going anywhere else. To make it even better, Leah is so nice and her prices are very reasonable. When I was 9+ months pregnant she even offered to see me on her days off to make sure I could get one last cut and color in before the baby arrived -- where else are you going to find someone as awesome as that?! read more

I have been going to Lea for almost 3 years now and she never fails me. She took me from platinum blonde to almost black and my color has always looked amazing! I'm sadden to give her less than 5 star but my experience wasn't as excellent as some reviewers have mentioned. Yes, she is relatively affordable and gives decent cuts, but her customer service needs tons of improvement. Here's the run down of what happened: I had an appointment with her at 7 but she saw me at 7:15 because she was still with a client. After that the whole process seemed to be very rushed and she kept on staring at the clock as if she's going to miss her 8 o'clock appointment. While in session she answered her call and left for several minutes. More time deducted from my hair. Her blow dry was super rushed and botched. It was fairly basic and relatively unprofessional blowdrying session that I can do at home (not using roller and not root to tip, but generally ran the dryer through my hair while agitatedly staring at the clock. However she did use the roller on the first section of hair like a proper salon blow dry). In the middle of sessions she stopped answer her call as well as left for few minutes. When I pointed out how I like my hair blowdried (other professional salons don't need this instructions to begin with). She simply said she's getting late for the next client (I'm thinking does she even want me there?). Her cut isn't bad (it's on par with another salon I'm frequent in), but I left with a very bitter aftertaste and felt extremely un-welcomed here. I went to many hair salons and I wanted to give her a try due to yelp review, but I am very disappointed. I will stick to the places where I feel welcomed and treated professionally like a customer. Go to her if you're one of her regular or belong to certain demographic background only. read more

I have entrusted Lea with the coiffing of my beloved mane for about two years. Before her, I went all over--chains, boutiques, you name it. And I had plenty of haircuts that I was happy with, and plenty that made me want to Britney off all my hair and start again. But throughout all of that, almost every haircut was a stressful experience because I felt like I had to pay such close attention to what was going on to ensure I'd be happy with the end product. Until I met Lea. When I'm in her chair, I tell her what I'm feeling--shorter or longer, messier or classier--and she makes it happen. She does what she does, and does it quite well and quite consistently, so I can sit back and relax and my hair looks great every time she's done. And then she moved salons. So far away from my house. Honestly, I wanted to cut her. But she's worth the 30-45 minute drive to her new salon in Sterling, so still I go every three weeks. And I've recommended her to at least two others (a guy and a girl) who she's won over as regular clients now, too. Overall, she does good work, and if you're not happy initially she makes sure to fix it. She's easy to schedule with. Always a good experience! read more

Lea is amazing! I started going to her a few years ago. I use to see stylists in NYC and DC who would charge close to a $100 a haircut and they were good but not as good as Lea. Not only are her prices extremely reasonable but she pays so much attention to what I want and then always delivers! At first I would only get haircuts because I never really thought it was worth it to get highlights and a color (other places would encourage me to go back for touch ups so often) so because of all the maintenance I just colored my own hair. But with Lea, I get all that done! After Lea does my hair- and I usually request some sort of ombré- everyone and I mean everyone compliments it! I also have super curly hair, which some stylists can't work with or do the same thing over and over again so they can stay safe- but Lea makes my hair look the way I want it to- but pays attention to my hair type and my skin complexion when she's coloring it. She is also super focused on making sure my hair stays healthy. Most other stylists want you back every so often for a color or a cut so they can ensure a steady income- but Lea seems to really care that I take care of my hair so she doesn't encourage that I dye it too much and doesn't encourage cutting it more often than need be. She also styled my hair on my wedding day- and I've never felt so perfect. She's the greatest and I'm so thankful I found her! read more

Lea was friendly. I called her after messing up my daughter's hair, and she graciously fit in a same day appointment. She called back later in the day to let me know she was running 30 minutes behind so we didn't spend time waiting. Her studio is in a salon plaza, so her room is small with one washing chair, one drying chair, and one cutting chair. No real place to wait other than one of those chairs or out in the hall. Lea explained what she was going to do before she began cutting and offered advice on how to protect my daughter's hair from the sun and pool water. It's a little pricey at $30/child but she did a good job on a difficult cut! read more

Really great job! I've had very little success for years with stylists who say they understand how to cut and style short, curly hair, but who truly don't. But Lea seems to truly get it! We talked at length about my habits (anti-blowdry) and lifestyle, and she made helpful suggestions about products, when to scrunch (and when not to--very informative). All in all a great experience, with Netflix to watch to boot! I'll definitely be back. read more

I finally found a awesome stylist, Lea, is super! Love my haircut & the conversation. I found a stylist and feel relieved to have met her.

Lea is amazing!!! I have thick, wavy-curly hair and Lea gave me the best cut I've had in years.
