Came in for a blowout and got a Cosmo tai. All their blowouts have names for drinks like Cosmo, Mai…read moreTai, southern comfort, you get the picture. Cosmo is more like a curl while the mai tai is more like a beach wave. I got the mix a Cosmo tai. The only thing I can never get a curl to last longer than like 15 minutes. It was a nice experience. I got a clarifying treatment with scalp scrub and massage. I did see they added hair extensions. I did inquire about them. They are super cute with all the shades you can imagine. I am thinking about possibly getting clip in extensions in the future.

I had a really bad experience at this particular Drybar location. I had better in Bethesda and…read moreNorthern Virginia. But wouldn't recommend the one in CoVA. Parking is a hassle to find. It's a bit of a walk from the garage and sucks if it's raining or humid and hot outside. Your updo or blowout will be frizzy fast. The appointments are easy to make by phone or online. Check in and waiting process was pleasant and enjoyable. I received some coffee to sip on while waiting. Unfortunately, my stylist I got assigned to wasn't the best. She didn't do a thorough job with shampooing or rinsing out the conditioner. The back of my shirt got soaked during the process and I am still dealing with a scalp dermatitis months later from it. She also had really long nails that felt unpleasant when getting my hair shampooed or styled. I wanted a simple blow out without use of hot tools like straightener. My hair has the Japanese permanent straightening done. You just dry my hair and it will be straight with subtle volume. Normally it's a 5 minutes process. Super fast and easy. Nope. Well, she didn't listen and spent nearly an hour blow drying my hair with big barrel brushes and applying the scorching hot hair straightener after soaking my hair with hair products. What was the whole point of drying my hair like that only to soak it with hair products? You know the hair is literally burnt and everything when you watch your hair steaming away between the hot straightener. I was furious with her for completely disregarding my multiple requests not to do that. Anyhow, I ended up returning to LA and having to chop off a good 4-5 inches of my now damaged and burnt hair. If I could go back in time, I would have never had anyone here touch my hair. I wish I had read the reviews beforehand and said no thanks.

Our hair held up so nicely throughout the entire beach wedding and the reception. Julie was so kind, professional, and welcoming. She listened and took time to create the look that we each wanted. She put us at ease and alleviated much of our stress. I highly recommend Julie at Wavelengths!

Great experience! My stylist was actually the owner, Julie. She was personable, considerate,…read morethorough, and had great attention to detail! When I got there, her mom (she works in the business end of things) offered me water and/or wine! Never had that before at a salon and was a nice touch. Julie was very thorough in completing my perm. Even when she missed two hairs (exactly two; I'm not exaggerating) by my face, she redid the roller! She was super considerate of me when I told her that my neck tends to be pretty strained when I'm in the sink. She changed little things that went a long way, like applying the neutralizer with me sitting up instead of in the sink like she normally would, so I didn't have to be there longer than necessary. She was also quite patient! When the perm was setting, she started to grab a quick bite of lunch in the back and was not upset in the slightest when I came over to say that one of the rollers had popped apart; she just came on out and fixed it happily! I would have been disappointed like "man I just sat down!" I got a bit of a cut after the perm also, and she did great with that. She sent me away with a written note for my next stylist about what she did today, because I'd struggled in the beginning to communicate which rollers I'd had in the past/how curly I'd gone before, things like that. So she not only did a great job on this today but also made it easier for me for future visits to stylists. In many ways she just went the extra mile. Additionally, it felt like a community experience because the hairdresser beside her chatted with me as well as her client. It was a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere for sure! Overall I'm quite satisfied. If I'm ever dying to change my hair again while I'm visiting the OBX, I know where I will go! She told me they do weddings too, by the way!

Extremely disappointed in the level of customer service and services provide by Neri! This salon is…read moreextremely over priced and the level of service provided is mediocre. Came in after Covid quarantine, for a platinum blonde growth and extension consult. I was charged $600 and walked out with a yellow band around my head. The stylist I saw didn't allow the bleach to process the first time, when she washed out my hair.I was left with a orange band. She then proceeded to add a second round of bleach. When I left the salon she parted my hair, where the yellow band was not noticeable. The following day I noticed the yellow band called the salon. I'm normally in the salon for 3 hours, as I a have been a platinum blonde for a couple years now, I was there for 4 for her mistake. I was scheduled for my extensions placement the following week and ask if I could come in and get them both done. Came in for the extension installation with the same stylist. Showed her the yellow band and she immediately got all defense, like I screwed up her hair. Her customer service just thrown out the window that I had to speak to the owner. I was then explain why I was charged 600, 150 by the hour. Because of the product and time it took. So not only was I charged for her mistake, they charged me for the extra time as well, ridiculous. Decided to give Neri another try despite our fall out to place my hair extensions. Horrible mistake! She has no experience, the foundation of my extensions fell a part in about 3 weeks expand. I had to come back for her to redo 2 out of 3 rows. I noticed that the top weft was cut short, didn't even make it to the last bead! When I was 7 weeks out I experienced, breakage off the 3 row. Talked to the owner and she had the audacity to tell me maybe my hair was to fine for this type of extensions after the fact I spent 1000 for the hair and placement. Like isn't this what the Consultation is for?? I also couldn't wear my hair straight, without you knowing I had extensions on. This place lacks experience in extensions, as they just got certified a year ago, then the pandemic happen = zero hands on experience!
