Since then the roof has held up great! Last week I started seeing a leak on the outside of my house. I called them up and the owner sent someone out the same day just to rule anything out. When they came out we both agreed that it didn't look like there was anything wrong with the roof, but that didn't stop them for doing their best to stop it from leaking they added some caulking around some holes in the stucco and masonry and fixed up some of the flashing near the leak. After that, it was still leaking, but Brad, the owner, was kind enough to come out again, even though it had NOTHING to do with the roof just to double-check on me and make sure that I was doing well. At the end of the day, they took off a side gutter and found a hole in the wall that the builders had left from when the house was built. Again, STILL not roof related, but they treated me like family and helped me as if it were and fixed it up for me. Literally cannot say enough good things about WDR! I've never found a company that is this helpful or this responsive.

Steve Powers told me it was unfortunate I was experiencing leaks, but it was misguided to blame the company's work. Now our insurance company is having to get involved.

He guided us step by step while dealing with insurance and in getting approval from the HOA. The Top Dog team replaced my whole roof in one day. After they finished painting my house, a few weeks later after heavy rains I noticed a stain on the ceiling of a guest bedroom. I knew immediately it was the long nagging problem of the "dead valley" along my roof. The house was designed and built according to the architect's drawings to have the roof of the first floor bedroom run into the siding of the house. It was a short "run" and rainfall should go quickly into the gutters. But, this was built under a big, old oak tree and for many years, I've had leaves and twigs built up, damming up the water. If I can remember it, I have to get up on a ladder with a rake and rake the leaves away from where the shingles meet the siding. After one major hailstorm, I had the roof replaced and when they replacing it, I asked them to build something to reduce the leave/branch damming. They did build it, but apparently not big enough. It lasted probably 14-15 years until this recent Spring. Since I had a good experience with 21st Century, I called them out to give me a bid on repairing what was probably rotted trim and exposed flashing and other rot elsewhere. And while they were at it, I asked them to build me a better diverter away from the siding. They came out and took care of it in a day. The guy was there from 8:30 to 5:00, taking a break for lunch, but got it done. Since they were also the painters, they asked me for the leftover paint they left for me (for touch-up) that came in handy as they had to replace the rotten trim and as it turned out a section of the roof decking. Attached are the pictures they took for the bid and then afterwards when they were complete. They were detailed enough to ask me first, "hey, this diversion we're putting in is a lighter grey then your shingles. Are you okay with that? We can go back and get darker materials". I said that was fine. No one can see that part of the roof and so it was trivial to me. The only negative thing from the painting and the roofing experience is so minor it's not worth taking away a star is that there will be a gap between when you sign and return the contract and they contact you about scheduling the actual work. In both cases, I had to drop them a line to remind them I was in the queue. Being a service that can't work when it's raining, I can understand that they have days where scheduled work is delayed and that causes a snowball effect of delays.

I have been absolutely thrilled with all of the projects Fina and her team have completed for me. Quotes are very reasonable and she strives to leave her clients very happy. My problems with Fina generally boil down to a few things; her subcontractor management was very…read morepoor. Her attention to detail and quality assurance was very poor. She promised 4-6 weeks buildout, it took TEN (10) MONTHS! Most of which she was not assisting in any way towards the end. She has $1,424.25 of our dollars which we will seek to reclaim in small claims court. There were so many things that went haywire about this project, that it would take too long to discuss them all individually but I'll hit a few of the major ones. I'm sure she will have 1,000 excuses (she is fond of the sob stories) in the response to this review, but just be aware that she will say anything to get out of doing the right thing. One of the subs she brought didn't meet a deadline because he was in jail. That's the level of insanity I'm talking about here. When I brought up the fact that she owed us money, she said she could not pay because she retired. This was prior to the May 2019 review by another person! She is clearly still working. There were/are substantial drywall problems (sagging in the kitchen which led to large gaps I had to fix around the cabinetry). We had to compromise down in quality from budgeted price in a big way on multiple design items but the prices for those were never revised down! Her subs didn't properly seal the house during demolition and there was drywall dust over everything, which my wife and I had to clean up. Her subs damaged our washing machine after her contractor stood on it (she just shrugged and said "i can't fix it"!). A sink was installed out of level. I had to rip out a large piece of framing around a windowed wall and have had another contractor repair the poor work done TWICE. Fina took excess funds from a reduction in scope (not installing granite counters) and used them to pay outstanding debts to subcontractors on the project. She then claimed she thought we knew that the project was more expensive than budgeted and that she assumed that we were removing counters to pay for HER budget increase. This simply never happened. She refused to pay me back. Even if it costs me money and she has no ability to pay me back like she claims, I will be going to court because what she did was not right. Needless to say, I would not recommend Fina for any remodeling jobs.

Blackhill is currently in the process of replacing the roofs in my apt complex and they literally had a sloppiest job site I've ever seen, shingles all over the place, tar paper blowing around the complex and untold roof tacks / nail left for residence and pets to step on. Workers just drop trash where they stand, lunch trash just left laying around would it too much to ask to go to Home Depot and buy some garbage cans? I would also check your liability insurance before hiring them, the units in my complex are 3 stories with vaulted ceilings but only 1/2 of the workers are in safety harnesses, the rest are running around the roofs in sneakers and straw hats...All the roofing debris is just dropped off the roof yet not a single person on the ground is wearing a hard hat or safety glasses... They are plugging extension cords into residents porch outlets which increases the residents electric bill.....Now here is the real kicker, I'm not sure if he's the site foreman, team lead, owners son but they have a worker who's about 100lbs over weight so there is no physical way he's climbing a ladder so he just waddles around the complex, one days he's sleeping in the crane they use to move some of the trash off the roofs, next day he's sitting in the shade of the dog park howling at the workers up on the roof while there is a tone of trash blowing around.....I'm not a doctor but I'm pretty sure it would do him some good to take a garbage can and walk around the complex picking up trash.....Again, this may be a Texas thing but it's just shocking how they conduct business.
