My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant as we were wandering the streets of Brooklyn on a sunny Saturday. Lured by its vibrant signs and outdoor patio, we came in for what was supposed to be a quick look but stayed instead for lunch. And I'm so glad we did. Habana Outpost had the best Cuban sandwich I've ever had. Now, It's important to note that I don't often order Cuban sandwiches, after having tried it a few times and finding it to be dry. Habana's wasn't dry at all. The pulled pork was dripping with jus. The cheeses were melty and held all the elements together. The bread was perfectly panini-pressed and crisp. This excellent sandwich was paired with an equally excellent side of battered crispy fries. Writing this review has my mouth watering and has changed my once-lowly opinion of Cuban sandwiches. I've here twice in the last two weeks and I like it. Pretty much your run of the mill Mexican spot. Looks more like a fun hangout summer spot than an authentic mexican spot if that matters to you. It has a nice outdoors area. Table service down to bringing food to you, but you go to the counter every time you need to other something. I like it and would go back. I've been here a couple of times and enjoyed myself. One of my close friends hosted a dinner here to celebrate her moving to another city recently. I arrived at 6 pm; during happy hour. The line was relatively short at the time so I was able to order a pina colada (mango) with shrimp tacos, chips and guacamole, and fried corn on a cob. My order came out in a timely manner. Ideally, if you're with a group of people, a pitcher makes sense to get. However, sometimes that option is not available because the machine is down apparently during peak hours. Definitely a great place to come to for food and drinks but be mindful of when you visit. Next time I'll be sure to come on a Wednesday around 4 PM. read more

I believe they are seasonal though, so they close in the colder months? Their menu consists of tacos, bowls, drinks and of course the cuban sandwich. You order at the entrance and they'll bring your food to you. After, don't forget to clean up yourself! It's a great spot to hang out with friends in the summer, but we weren't super impressed with the food. We got the cuban sandwich with fries, fish taco and al pastor taco. I've never had a cuban sandwich before but this pork was quite dry and the sandwich as a whole got soggy from the sauce they put. The fries were delicious though! What a stellar happy hour deal and taco Tuesday deal! It is a fast casual taco spot so you have to order at the counter and then they bring you your food outside but the service is very quick. I ordered a frozen margarita, shrimp, taco, steak, taco, Tostones, and guacamole, and it was less than $30. Just finished their World Famous Cuban. It was awesome! Very inviting flavor that made me keep wanting another bite! Highly recommend! There were four of us. The other three enjoyed a Grilled Shrimp Bowl (described as "very good!"), a Guacamole and Plantain Bowl (described as "it was good") and a Grilled Chicken Bowl with two Tacos (described as "the bowl was very good, the tacos were a three out of five". I've been coming here for a very long time for almost 15 years. Over the course of a year there's been several mishaps with food/beverages. It looks to be a tuff of hair/fuzz floating in my margarita. Can staff check the cups prior to pour the beverages inside? My friend and I came last Friday and she found hair? This spot has a nice relaxed vibe, there is a some indoor seating but most of the seating is outside. You order at the register, they give you a number and when ready your meal is brought to you. Chill, affordable spot close to Atlantic Terminal for low key drinks and nosh. The main space is outside, where there are a variety of covered or uncovered tables and benches set up to accommodate groups of up to 10-12 a group. A couple kid friendly areas including a large scale "connect 5" type game and vintage Batman coin slot ride--make the space kid-friendly. The pickup window out back is also where you pick up food orders once the number on your receipt pops up on one of a couple number screens in the outside area. Inside the main area centers around a bar where you order and they serve their drinks. There is seating in the back for around 20 too. Food on the menu include tacos, a Cuban sandwich, bowls, a couple salads and burritos, quesadillas, grilled corn and some apps and sides like nachos and chips and guac, rice nd beans. Drinks feature beer, sangria, and crowd favorites of frozen margaritas and pina coladas. Saw many tables ordering pitchers of frozen drinks on the warm summer afternoon we were there. It's one of the most inviting but still communal feeling places I've stepped into, especially in the summer. It has a beautiful outdoor seating area (though try to get a shady spot), large ceilings, bright color, beautiful knick knacks, and one of the calmest bathrooms. Service is quick and they bring it to you via your number. There's free tap water. Came in for taco Tuesday for a quick lunch. Grabbed two tacos; the steak and al pastor. Both were good, but I preferred the al pastor over the steak. The reason for the four rather than five star review is really the price. A taco that is two bites should not cost $8. That's outrageous. And a $5 bottle of coke? Went on a hot day hoping to get inside seating but there's only a few tables and countertop, not that it mattered though, the inside was hot as well. Ordered a cuban and fries, guacamole and plantain bowl, 2 ears of corn, and a sangria tower. We ended up sitting outside, but oly about half of the spots were shaded and almost all were taken. We did get a spot in the shade and there was a DJ outside playing everything but latin music. The main courses were excellent, but the corn did not have much flavor, despite looking beautiful covered in cheese and spices. The sangria was a disgrace though. $60 for a tower of sangria and what came out was a tower of red wine. No ice, no fruit, just plain red chilled wine.
