TRUST THE REVIEWS - I wish I would have listened to them. Originally this place was Buff and Tweeze, and the reviews weren't great so I never went. Then they changed the name, and I assumed it was new ownership, so I decided to try it out. I had THE WORST experience I've ever had at a nail salon. I'm a new mom and I don't get a lot of time to myself, so I was excited to finally get a pedicure and relax. I left this place more stressed than I was when I came in. 1. This place looked so unsanitary!! I should have walked out, but I didn't have a lot of time and decided to take the risk. Should have listened to my inner dialogue screaming for me to leave. She didn't wear gloves until she did the sugar scrub on my legs and then when she did that she took her wet gloved hand, that had already touched my feet, and put it in the communal scrub jar that looked watered down already. So every person she touches gets their germs mixed into that jar of other people's germs. None of the tools were in a sterilization pack. They were all out in the open, so who knows if they were actually clean. 2. The gal was so rough with my feet and when taking care of my cuticles. She was literally digging into the sides of my toenails and caused me to bleed multiple times. And then she kept pouring cuticle remover back over my toes that were bleeding?! 3. She filed down my nails sooo short that it hurt and she would use her own sharp nails to dig into my toes while filing, which also f***** hurt. 4. The paint job was horrible! I picked a gel color and instead of wiping off the wet paint that was on my skin with a brush and alcohol, she just let it cure under the UV lamp and then after she was done with the paint she took a nail file and tried FILING OFF THE PAINT THAT WAS ON MY SKIN!! Wtf??? 5. She started the timer for my massage on my legs, but then took her time wiping off her hands and rearranging things on her cart before she started and also she didn't use lotion. She used a tiny amount of cuticle oil which then turned my massage into a dry rub basically, and that didn't feel great either. 6. When I went to pay with my card, she was impatient for the card to register when tapping it on the machine and jerked my card out of my hand and was trying to do it herself. Overall- I will NEVER come back here. Such a waist of my time and money, and possibly got an infection. My toes hurt so bad!!! I went home and cleaned my feet immediately. read more

I really wanted to love this place... but we're just not vibing. I've given it multiple chances, and the service has consistently landed in the meh category. I came back recently only because I had an old gift certificate (waste not, want not), and unfortunately the experience didn't change. I paid extra for a chrome finish, and the result was uneven enough to make me question why I bothered with the upgrade. However -- plot twist -- the pedicure was fantastic. The women who do my nails are all very nice. I would give them a 5. But the owner Tracey is rude and not customer-service oriented. You ask her a question and she barks an answer to you. On top of that she is mean to her employees. Many of my friends have stopped going because of her. I continue because I want to support the women who work there. I stumbled upon this place while I was waiting for my appointment at European Wax Center and I'm so glad they were able to fit me in as a walk in! I came in on a Saturday and it was very busy but they were still able to accommodate me. I ended up getting the deluxe spa pedicure and added paraffin wax to my service. The price is absolutely amazing for how much you get! The woman who did my nails was named Kaylee and she really took her time on each and every step and made sure I enjoyed my service. I didn't feel rushed at all and was able to completely relax. The spa chairs look brand new and have a really great massaging feature. All of the employees used new bags in the foot spa and thoroughly cleaned everything between each use. They've also got a great selection of polish/gel to choose from at the front! TRUST the reviews. I didn't look here first and I regret it. I just walked in as I was going to TJ Maxx and they had availability. The owner was reprimanding a male worker off about something. Then as my service was ending she started yelling at a young woman--something about the "service costing 65 not 60, to read and that if she would have read it she would have known". It was the most awkward and embarrassing feeling to see a full grown woman being humiliated in front of me. I got up and told the nasty owner to not speak to the worker in that manner, especially in front of other people. I told her to reprimand her in private because what she was doing was humiliating. No one else in the shop said anything and probably the reason why the salon is able to stay open is people's complicity in the owners rudeness and bullying of the employees. If you do happen to come here, see something, say something. It felt like I was in a third world country where a rich master with no education or class harasses and shames their workers. Never again. She was yelling at another employee who may have been new and telling her to "think, and use her brain if she wants money!" I've gone to H2O Nails in La Canada many times over the years, but today I had a very upsetting experience and I will not be going back. I've looked online to send an email or communication directly to the owner or manager, but there's no contact info other than a phone number that I could find online. So, I'll post it here. During my manicure, I asked for a pillow to place my arm on and the woman doing my nails laughingly poked my stomach and said "You don't need a pillow, this is your pillow." I was shocked. It was so unexpected and I felt so uncomfortable with her comment. Body shaming is rude and completely inexcusable. I kindly told her that it was not a very nice thing to say, and she laughed again and said she was just joking. She never did end up giving me a pillow, instead, she just placed a washcloth on my stomach under where my hand was resting. Then she began wiping off her tool on that very washcloth. Again, I was shocked. She should be wiping that off on the towel on the side table! Before I could even say anything, she took her tool and poked my stomach a couple of times and said, that she just loved touching my belly! I had no words! This was so inappropriate and disrespectful of my body, personal space, and my feelings. As I left, there was no one at the front desk to even talk to about this. I'm still in shock processing the experience. I hope that no one else has been subjected to this insensitive and rude behavior. And I hope upon reading this, the H2O establishment will take time to reflect on how to better train their employees to be considerate of their customers. read more

Truly the saddest and unexpectedly poor services. My pedicure was a quickie and not thorough- no massage at all. My gel nails are a joke. There is hardened gel stuck to my skin and nails. There was no massage or clean up. The experience was not relaxing, enjoyable, nor was it worth the $70 either! My nail tech was immature. There was an argument between a regular customer and the queen bee - who was loud, abrasive and not mitigating the situation. The technicians all conversed with one another VERY loudly in their own languages. I speak multiple languages, but the tone and volume was audible over my AirPods, unfortunate. I'm very disappointed. Now do I go here yes, why? Because I need my nails done for my job , and they charge me 35$ for a gel manicure, 40 if they take my gel off which they often do . They almost try to convince you that any mistake they make is the correct way . I don't get anything fancy , just plain gel. To sum it up Owner is terrible. Work is fair but it's weird because when I'm there she has regulars !! And I see her treat them that way and they have set appointments with her!! I tried explaining that she didn't have to. But she just kept shouting at her coworkers in a different language and huffed and puffed around that my nails were terrible. I get it. They are short. But people have short nails. I didn't ask her to file them. She was incredibly rude and you angry. And seemed that way from the very beginning. I've been coming there for years and love the service. The prices are totally reasonable and the quality is there. I've been to MANY places and there is none better, especially given the price point. We walked in...the place wasn't so bad till I realized how uncomfortable was the atmosphere, no music, no one talking other then the few workers saying a word or two in their own language. The lady who took one of my girls was so rude never made eye contact, while I was asking her a question she just walked away! Her tools and tray were so dirty, she didn't even change the dirty towel from the previous client/clients! I asked her not to cut her nails short, she cut them all short. Also, the job she did was so rushed and my nails are an embarrassment. She ignored my requests To clean up Bright red dip powder all over my hands, hardened dip powder all over my cuticles and around/ underneath my nails. She told me the powder would wash off with water, and no it did not in fact, all of the dip powder is extremely hard now on my actual skin and I can't even fix it myself.
