Treated my boyfriend and I to a couples massage and a float (cloud package for $309) for Vday! This was our first time floating and the experience was memorable. From the moment we walked in until we left, the service was impeccable. Everyone greeted you and offered tea/water/anything to make you feel comfortable. The amenities and rooms were also very clean. So first off, we had the massage (1hr) and then the float(1hr)-which were recommended by other yelpers and I totally agree! Massages were excellent and 100% recommended for the ultimate relaxation. I had Françoise and my bf has Cho. They did trigger point massage and relieved so much tension! Felt so refreshed and literally became jellies. (Thank you so much!) Afterwards, we hopped into the tub for our float and it was so soothing. The water was warm and we had the option of adjusting the lights or the music. One thing that bothered me was that the rooms were slightly suffocating (I have asthma) and maybe 1hr was a bit too much for me as I craved fresh air. When we were done, we had ample time to shower, relax in the hallways with ginger tea or espresso and to get dressed. Overall, I felt so welcomed here and it was a nice little getaway from the busy streets of Toronto. This was an amazing experience and I would come back again!

What to do after a exhausting week on a Friday night with your SO? Come here for a COUPLE floating session! As far as I know, this is the only float spa that offers this! Different to egg shape close tank, they have a queen size open tank for couples! My boyfriend and I really love our experience there. It is relaxing. The entire SPA feel zenful and calm. Owner of the place spent a lot of time in creating a peaceful place for its customers. P.s. I sleep like a baby after floating session.

Great experience - but don't think I'd do it again. I went on a Saturday night with my fiancé in the joint tub - we are both pretty tall people, so I was worried the tub wouldn't be big enough, but we fit JUST right. First of all - the spa itself seemed pretty clean & spa-like - soothing music, warm air, and nice smells. I was a little confused as to the change rooms - I thought they would be connected to the room with more privacy, and not just a change room for all the women and all the men at the facility. Maybe they should time the floats so people don't run into each other? It's literally just one open room so if another person happens to be in there and you are shy about changing then there is no where to hide. Their robes were comfy - mine definitely had a small hole in it, but looked clean otherwise. I don't know if it's just me, but the whole float experience wasn't as relaxing as I had imagined - first of all, there were clearly still used cups in our room from the people before. They don't clean? Secondly, the shower we had to use before going into the tub was lukewarm at best. Not even remotely warm I should say - the air was warm in the room which probably made it seem extra cold, but honestly we stood there for like 5 minutes turning it both ways trying to make the shower warmer but just ended up braving it. Personally, it took me a bit of time to relax, I keep getting salt in my eyes and up my nose - I probably spent the first 20-25 minutes just getting comfortable. It may have been a different story if I was in the pod though. The tub had lights you could change colours, I found them a bit distracting after a while and just turned them off. It would have been nice if we could have changed the soundtrack - it was the same "nature" sounds on a loop for the whole time. Near the end, the bath started feeling a lot more lukewarm and I kinda just wanted to get out. Our shower was a tiny bit warmer than before, but still uncomfortable after a nice warm bath. They gave us a clementine? And some ginger tea afterwards - the ginger tea was amazing!! Clementine, I was just confused and it was not clear exactly why a clementine was chosen as the after bath salt snack? But anyways - it was an interesting experience to try once, but I definitely don't think I'd do it again. read more

I have been to 4 different float locations in Toronto. Love floating but this place feels you are in a real " country spa " By the time you take your shoes and coat off and walk to the hallway it really feels you are in a relaxing spa. I see the point one person made about the noise but being on the subway line has other advantages :-) The effort and attention to details in this place is wonderful. From the comfy robes to the fruit bowl, Nespresso machine and relaxing lighting while you wait. It is all good taste and great customer service. read more

I had exceptional customer service experience with one of the owners, he was incredibly responsive to my inquiries and quickly resolve a booking issue. H20 Float Spa has a friendly and clean environment. The atmosphere was great. There is the option of no music, nature sounds, or soothing music. Would visit again with my boyfriend to float together as I was not disappointed. There is the occasional rumble of the subway but it is not as terrible as what some people make it out to be. read more

Clean place & friendly staff. I had seen a lot of videos on youtube with people saying it was "life changing". I had it built up so much that it was a bit of a let down. Yes, it was super relaxing, but I don't think even the price point of $49.99 (reg $69.99) is worth the money. lf the service was priced around $25-$30 I think it'd be more reasonable. Also at this location, you will definitely hear the subway trains, or at least feel them vibrating, every few minutes. You could select what sounds/music you wanted to listen to but it was very hard to hear. Glad to have at least tried it but won't be doing it again. read more

I've floated twice - in a pod by myself and open concept w/ my bf. I wasn't as relaxed the first time because the whole concept was so new, so different that it took a while to shut off my brain and focus on.... nothing. If I were to go back by myself, I would choose the open concept as it felt like there's more room to stretch out your arms. You can choose to have the multicoloured lights on or off. I found the nature sounds in the pods at a better volume than the open concept, especially when you have the ear plugs in. I'm not sure if this is something the front desk can adjust. My only suggestion is to have a more private designated lounge area after the float. They currently have a little seating area w/ a divider beside the entrance where you can have ginger tea/coffee while watching beach-y scenery on the TV. read more

I second Daniel J.'s review - the subway kills the floating experience. I'm an experienced floater and while they have every other detail down, the owner clearly did not float before opening shop. They could've at least put the floor on springs to dampen the rumble that you feel in your chest / head / water that snaps you out of whatever meditative state you were in. it's too bad; it seems like it could be a nice shop otherwise. The other detail was that the environment was *not* completely pitch black - there was a tiny little green LED on. These are little big details, but they matter. I won't be back. I'll keep going to my usual off the TTC shop. read more

Customer Service: 0/5 Staff Mindfulness: 0/5 Decor: 4/5 I was disappointed, it felt like a waste of time and money. I wasn't using a groupon - paid full price, and there was no attempt to improve my experience as a customer. The space is beautiful, but the pod room I was in was horrible and the staff could use A LOT of training. I expressed that I preferred to take my purse with me and change in my room, instead of the change room. I don't want to change into a robe and walk through your establishment to my room in just a towel. The woman who I was speaking with insisted that I change in the change room because "that's procedure". We had a little back and forth before she allowed me to do as I asked. The response I would have liked to receive should have been more along the lines of "Of course, whatever you're comfortable with. Have a seat and I'll bring you to your room shortly", not attitude. This was not a good start to my float. I was unable to really relax and get into my float because every few minutes there was a blast of music, rumbling of engines, and vibrations from the subway. I had earplugs in and that didn't make a difference. I only ended up staying in the pod for 40 minutes. For meditative purposes, mindfulness, deep breathing...it's hard to maintain focus and relax with all that noise and vibration. When I was paying, I expressed to the gentleman at the counter that my experience wasn't great. It was very distracting with all the loud noises from traffic and I wasn't feeling relaxed at all. He shrugged and said he'd pass it onto the manager. I have not received any response to my feedback email. read more

I have just completed a year of monthly floats at H2O Float Spa. I have always found the staff friendly and informative and the premises very clean. I initially started with the floats to assist movement in my neck and shoulders due to osteoarthritis. The body needs magnesium and you will get your full dose here. I agree with everyone's comments about the subway train sometimes being disturbing, but as my sessions went on, through creative processes I barely notice it now. I enjoyed the ginger tea and small orange afterwards, as I found being a diabetic my blood sugar levels would always drop after a session. Last month there was no orange .. just the tea, and with my treatment today there was no tea either. I am not sure what happened but perhaps these perks are no longer available. I preferred the pod versus the open tub. I have to open the pod every now and then to let some air in, as being in such a small space your body can really get on the warm side. This seemed to work just fine for me but a few months ago I noticed that opening the pod suddenly would turn the room lights on. Another distraction! It was so much of a distraction that I thought my session was over, got out showered and went to the front desk where I found out I had only been floating for 20 minutes! Jason was so kind to put an extra float on my file. To customers that worry about the noise of the subway train, there are ear plugs provided and I suggest using them. Also to keep the salt water out of your eyes and nose, I suggest blowing up the neck pillow that is provided. I only started using the pillow a few months back and boy does it make a difference for the apprehensive floater! You will be more relaxed not having to brush the salt off your face every few minutes. All in all, even with the days where I felt slightly edging during the session, I always felt super refreshed when leaving and had great sleeps afterwards. read more

I did the couples float recently and it was a great experience! My fiance and I felt amazing afterwards and we will definitely do it again. I recommend doing it in complete darkness and silence. I had a lovely visit. Even though I rushed in and signed the papers and frantically changing in a rush as my partner and I were running late. I did however relax quickly once I was submerged. I have floated before so it wasn't a new experience for me. I loved the lights in the tub, although I turned them off after I was comfortable. Something that was unavoidable but it did bother me a little was hearing the subway line. Overall I really loved it and I would definitely go back soon. read more

The place was very clean and chic. Staff was helpful. It was an experience I never had. Once closed the tank it was absolute darkness and silence and the only sound is your own inhale and exhale that you can listen to your inner body; the last 20 mins you can reaches to theta state. The very first feeling was in my arms seems like got numb and when i decided to move them they were hovering around me. i was detached from everything so even a slight touching of my toes to the side of the tank was an strange feeling. Not being able to figure out a feeling that I was slowly turning in circles -- an impossibility in the tank due to its size, but a convincing sensation nonetheless..You should do it yourself its hard to explain. I had a very possitive experience; my shoulder pain is much better now. I will go back again. read more

This was my first visit here for the float pod, and it was a great experience. The ambiance and the people there were very nice, polite and respectful. They clearly explained the float process to you and it was well organized. The float itself was pretty great as well. Personally the hour float was a little too long for me, but afterwards, I felt really relaxed, muscles (runner/cycle around) were much more relaxed, and I had a great sleep that night. The only thing that you could hear besides your heartbeat, was the very small sound of the subway passing by (not a big deal). read more

This is my second time at the H20 Float Spa. It's fairly close to where I live which makes the venture quite painless. Let's think about this, when you are in a sensory deprivation tank 2 very important things should be top priority for the business. 1. The water should be at exactly your body temperature such that after 10-15 minutes you climatize and can't separate your body from the water. 2. The room should be completely silent such that you can relax and space out. This is the second time the water has been far too warm which of course is comfortable but not scientifically how a tank is supposed to be. Secondly, and unfortunately not fixable for the business they are located directly above the subway line. Expect every 3-5 minutes to hear rumbling below you at an incredibly audible and distracting level. You go to a tank to space out and if the business cannot deliver on that it's absolutely not worth your time. Try Float Toronto instead. read more

Very high standard services. Minus one star because of the subway noise every 3 minutes, but otherwise very good enjoyable and relaxing.

I first heard about this new spa through my managers at work and decided to take my boyfriend here for our anniversary and give it a whirl. What better way to spend the day than to be in relaxing waters! I wasn't very keen on the idea that they don't clean out the water after every session. Although, it has said that the water is filtered and sanitized, and being in such large amounts of epsom salt, it would've killed all the bacteria. They have two choices, the single pod suite (that allows you to close the pod completely) and offers and the couples' suite (that is like a miniature pool), which are completely sound-proof to allow you to find your state of "zen". We obviously went for the couples' suite, which had about 10-12 inches of water and 10,000 pounds of epsom salts. Once you get into the spa, we were asked to change into robes and slippers and walked into our treatment room as our hostess thoroughly explained everything we needed to know about the floating session. We started off showering off using their very nicely scented Soapstone products (shampoo, conditioner and body wash) and then slowly slid into the pool for our floating session. There was the option to leave the lights on or turn them off completely so you are in a pitch black room. At first, I found it was hard to relax and any movement in the water causes you to move around the pool but once you do relax it was euphoric! One thing to be cautious about is getting water in your ears and salt water in your eyes. Remember to use the earplugs they supply you and the water bottle to rinse your hands before touching your eyes. They also give you the option to use blow up pillows that help give your neck some more support when floating. After floating for an hour, we showered off afterwards and walked back into the change room to find water, a cup of ginger tea (which was delicious) and a piece of chocolate for the both of us, which was a nice gesture. All in all, it was a good one time experience, that left both our skin feel baby soft and relaxed. read more

Overall a cool experience. Wanted to try something new to relax from the daily grind. Staff were running around and rushing, it felt more like a visit to a fast food restaurant rather than a spa, until we got to the room with the couples pool. You can adjust music volume and the lighting. Water temperature was just right. Floating experience - superb! You don't realize how much salt is in the pool until it's crystallizes on your face after just one touch. Star was taken off for rushed feeling when checking in and being shown around. read more

I was gifted the Cloud 9 package - 60 min float and massage and I must say I feel like I'm on Cloud 9. I'd been interested in floating for some time and it was a really great experience. There are different options (pool vs pod, lights on or off, music on or off). The 60 minutes flew by. The facilities were very clean and everything I need was provided (locker, robe, slippers, ear plugs, etc). If you don't want to get your hair wet bring a swim cap but they might have something there - just ask, the staff are great. There is a shower in the float room with shampoo/conditioner/body wash - all unscented. Outside the treatment rooms is a nice sitting area with water, tea and coffee and magazines. The massage was professional and relaxing. I will definitely go back again. Easy parking not the street or Green P behind. Plan at least 3 hours for this package. read more

WATCH OUT FOR THE CANCELLATION POLICY. I had been to the float spa over 10 times and enjoyed the experience but I will never go back. The cancellation policy is 24hour notice and they will charge you full price even if you cancel 20 hours before your appointment ($180 in my case that would have otherwise been covered by insurance). Attending the float spa is not worth the risk of having to cancel because of a family emergency etc and having to pay full price for no service. read more

There were many pros - in particular the massages. My group couldn't say enough about both massage therapists we had - and we're a picky bunch. The float experience was good but could have been better - downside: lighting, shower was awkward, slippery, didn't really explain at the outset what was happening to us newbies, super small change room; plus - very nice facilities, lovely staff, ginger tea, waiting room, fluffy robes. read more

Loved the experience, it's what I always hoped to get out of Body Blitz when I went there. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and were quick to answer any questions I had. I will never do this again. I had the displeasure of spending $60 (the discounted price) to hear the subway trains' amplified roaring under water and vibrating my tub every 15-75 seconds. I had an hour to count. If you think the spa music can be heard over this jarring metallic grind, you will be sorely disappointed. Also, the change rooms are open concept, with enough room for 3 people to change at once, and being the fourth person to walk in I can tell you you'll be on top of each other trying to maneuver around, or you can huddle in the corner in front of the floor to ceiling mirror and have people watch you change in the mirror, as was my experience. I decided to wait two days before I wrote a review so I could give myself time to relax and remember any positive experience. None came, and I'm still angry. Stay home and draw a bath next time you consider the Danforth Float Spa. read more

This was a terrible customer service experience. I was told that I would be able to put my float credits (from a gift certificate I received) toward a massage when I inquired via phone and face to face on two occasions, so I booked a massage with them. When I went to pay after the massage, they told me that I in fact could not use the credits and was asked to pay for the full amount with cash and to give the float credits to a friend if I didn't want to use them. I paid and left because I didn't want to cause a scene in front of other customers and emailed my complaint to them a few days later. I never heard back from them! The annoying thing is that I never would have booked that massage with them if they had given me the correct info in the first place, since I have a regular massage therapist that I go to. What's more, because their massage was so expensive, it was over the amount allowed by my company benefits so I wasn't even reimbursed for the full amount. Don't call yourself a "spa" if you can't even bother to train and educate your staff on return/exchange policies and if you can't offer spa-quality customer service. And if you can't bother to return an email from a customer with a valid complaint. Very disappointing. read more

This was our second time doing the couples massage and float package. Floating is a very unique experience that I recommend everyone try at least once. I will say that floating with a partner in a single pool is very, very, very different that floating alone. [If you know what I mean. ;) ] Although both are extremely good! For the truly "sensory deprevation" experience, I think H20 Float Spa needs to improve on a couple of things. First, the sound acoustics of the couples rooms need to be improved. I cannot speak for the single person tanks but in two of the couple's rooms (We have been in the one with the green lights, and the one with the purple lights), you can hear the outside environment, including cars on the street.) This is even with the ear plugs they provide. Also, our first time going, there was a problem with the lights. We could not turn them off (The room with the purple lights). This time, when we asked how to turn off the lights, the attendant said to call her on the intercom and she could turn them off. So perhaps that is no longer an issue with the purple lit room. I do not know. While $330 for 2 hours seems like a lot, and many people may not be able to afford it, I think the price is reasonable. $110 each for a one hour massage is pretty standard I think and if you have insurance, a portion will be covered. The $100 for the the hour float tank, is reasonable, but could be even more valuable if the noise issue was corrected. read more

I chose H2O for my first ever float session because it had the open-concept float pools available, and as a first time floater I was worried about feeling claustrophobic in the pods. I also saw from images on the web that it had a more professional looking environment on the interior than the other float spas did. I am so glad I chose H2O for my first experience. The staff was welcoming, the whole place smelled wonderful, and everything looked pristine in cleanliness. As another reviewer has said, it is a tad uncomfortable changing in front of other strangers, however I took my clothes into the bathroom with me to change back into after my float. So that is an option. Initially I doubted just how relaxing this experience could be, but by the end I found myself not wanting to get out and shower! I knew then that I would be back. There is a shower provided in the same room as your pod/float tub, with shampoo, conditioner, body wash etc. with towels and everything else you might need. There is also a neck pillow provided if you feel that your neck needs extra support while floating. There was a minor drawback to the experience. Halfway through my session, some light coming from outside of the room started coming in through a crack in the door frame that lasted for about 3-4 minutes. I tried to ignore it but when the entire room is pitch black it was unfortunately very noticeable. I will still probably go to H2O for my next session, but for this reason I'll probably choose a pod-style session next time. As for the rumbling of the subway trains - it is there, it is noticeable, however I personally do not feel that it's worth switching spas for. This place is so nice. For anyone who feels scared that they will be uncomfortable in the darkness, I am afraid of the dark and found it extremely relaxing. It's been almost 24 hours since my float experience and I still feel that "post-float glow" that others talk about. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I can't wait for my next float! read more

Came here with my husband last week. We're not new to floating so we knew what to expect etc. We've floated in the old-style rectangular tanks before as well as in the Pods, at Flo Spa In Laval Quebec. H2O FLoat Spa has 4 float rooms. My husband floated in one of their pods and I floated in their open float tub. Let me tell you, that tub is simply massive. I was floating in the center and extended both arms and legs out to my sides and could not reach the sides of the tub - I'm 5'6". The tub has two led lights which I choose to turn off once I got settled and boy... talk about feeling like being in the womb. Other things I liked were the robes you're given (love the hoodies on them) and the complimentary ginger tea and mandarin oranges once you come out. Dave (my husband) and I sat in one of their chill-out areas after our floats and we just sipped on our tea and watched the ocean waves on their wall monitor. One thing that I did notice was periodically I could hear/feel the subway passing underneath. After about 10 minutes though my mind just tuned that out and it just kind of disappeared on its own. My one complaint is that they do not offer longer floats at this point - I once floated for 3 hours at a spa in California. I think they (H2O) would do well to incorporate a longer float option for those who are more seasoned to floating. read more

I goto H2O often and I love it every time I'm there. I took my mother for Mother's Day to H2O for float session and deep tissue massage treatment and she left extremely grateful for such incredible experience. This was my mother's first time floating, so she enjoyed every second of it, she said she has never felt so calm and relaxed. The massage therapists that massaged us were very attentive and very pleasant. The staff is great and very kind. Their customer service is definitely is one of the best I've ever experienced and as I said before I go there often and their service has never gone down since the very first day. I personally love floating and feel as though it is the closest thing to meditation. It allows you to relax and be still In the moment without any interruption for an hour, for just $60 and that my friends is priceless. I've also gotten some of the best and deepest sleeps ever while floating. So if you've never tried it, I suggest you do and I suggest you start with H2O you will love it read more

For a first timer, here's my review: Customer service - great. The manager was very accommodating, polite, and the staff were courteous and offered ginger tea, and coffee. Atmosphere - quiet, respectful, very spa-like Cleanliness - Extremely clean. Can't complain. Massage - I love massages and get them regularily, and Joe the RMT was phenomenal. Will make this my go-to masseuse. Pods - Very relaxing. I would absolutely recommend it to a friend, however, it is a bit over-priced. Go only when there's a discount. read more

I had a Groupon, so thought I would try H2O Float Spa just the one time. I've been there 5 times since then and will be back again. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the spa is clean and relaxing. Initially, I thought it would be a good way to de-stress, I didn't realize the physical benefits until I twisted my knee. I was in a lot of pain for about a week. Walked into the spa almost in tears from the pain and walked out an hour later, pain free. I couldn't get over how much it helped! read more

Went for my first float last night, and it was so lovely! I brought my own music and didn't hear any outside sounds. The experience surpassed my expectations. It was amazing to feel weightless for an hour. My neck was comfortable, and I felt comfortable and cozy in the pod. The Epsom salts did wonders for my skin. I feel fantastic today. Just what I needed! The staff was friendly and made me feel at home. The feeling was not pretentious at all and very welcoming. I will definitely be back! read more

My boyfriend and I visited H2o Float Spa yesterday (March 16/16), and experienced the couples float. Let me just say that it exceeded any expectations I had! It was a heavenly experience. I walked out of there feeling mentally and physically rejuvenated. I would highly recommend this spa to anyone and everyone. The spa has such a calming and soothing energy, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the float experience was a 10/10! I will definitely be frequenting this float spa often :) read more

First the staff were very friendly, professional and informative. Second I looved the experience. If you're hesitant and nervous about the sensory deprivation take experience, honestly try it. It was amazing and I wish i was in one right now. And third, all of the little finishing touches were so sweet. I love the products actually and I wish i knew the name of them. They serve tea and snacks afterwards and they even have a roll of plastic bags for your bathing suit. I loved it. read more

Clean friendly wish the location was different because of the noise from the subway that's the only negative I highly recommend working out prior to you're float so your body can easily relax its important to note of your looking into this as a way to relax de stress (what I was looking for) that if your first session wasn't what you thought it would be give it 2 more try's after 3 floats I really did notice it helped me sleep and I left feeling relaxed read more

I had already had a massage at H2O Float Spa, which I can say it was the best massage I have ever had in my life. With regard to the Float, I honestly could not imagine how wonderful this floating is. My husband and I experienced a very relaxing time during 1 hour session. The open concept bathtub is absolutely perfect for a couple. The place is super clean, and the staff is very welcoming. We definitely go back( soon) ! read more

Beautiful and immaculate place. Its also a great location being on the Danforth and with the weather now getting nice. Didn't want to leave lol :) First time in my life doing this - boyfriend convinced me - and I was not ready for how good it felt. The staff there are very kind and helpful, and the float rooms are just stunning. The free ginger tea and mandarin oranges after the float were the icing on the cake :) read more

I went to H2O as a treat for my birthday earlier this year and it was literally the best gift I could have given to myself. The staff was extremely helpful and polite; the facilities were beautiful, clean and comfortable. I have floated before at other places but H2O knocks them all out of the park. I highly recommend going for a massage post-float here; maybe was one of the best I've ever had. read more

It was everything they claimed it would be...relaxing, rejuvenating, friendly, inviting and very clean. It was my first time going; I chose the individual pod, without music, in total darkness. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to make it through the whole hour, but the time flew by. I could have easily stayed longer. It was a much needed escape - beautiful and serene. read more

I treated my husband for Valentine's and it was his first experience. We had a 60 minute couple float spa and it was amazing. The rooms are private and clean with a shower. We felt relaxed, cleansed and peaceful from the experience. When we were finished we enjoyed ginger tea and cool water. We're looking forward to more experiences .... read more

This was my first time floating as was for my husband. We both enjoyed the floats and massage package we got. My masseuse was amazing and ending with the float made the experience that more relaxing. The best part is the way my skin felt after the 15 minute shower. The staff are all really professional and friendly. Silvia & Tony read more

Had an amazing time here last weekend. The spa really takes care of their guests well and supplies you with most things you will need for your visit. Staff was helpful and friendly. The room was large and warm and the experience was very relaxing. I didn't find the gentle rumbling of the subway as distracting as others and was still able to really enjoy my float. The RMT I saw before the float was AMAZING, and my float combined with his massage left my back feeling great. read more

I always end up at H20 Float Spa when I am in need of some serious recharging. Whether I am overworked, sick or stressed, one float gives me back the energy I need. It is such a beautiful and relaxing experience every time. Now all I need to do is go more often to prevent the above mentioned from happening in the first place. read more
