The new larger sensory deprivation pods are large enough to stand in. You can turn the music and lights on and off at anytime.

I have been a regular "floater" for years and it has been a great method for me to relax, decompress and meditate, calm the mind down, and escape the stresses and toxicity of work and city life. The private rooms which has been renovated with larger and more modern float tanks about a year ago are well equipped, modern and clean. The lounge is a peaceful calming place to be before and after your float session. They have complementary herbal tea and a nice selection of books to leaf through. I especially like the community journals where anyone can write or draw their messages, experiences, gratitude or self expression to share with others. They also have a nice selection of health, spiritual and wellness products for sale. The staff there are always very friendly and attentive. The only thing I could criticize on, though minor, is that I found the towels a bit on the rough side and not as think and soft from what I remember when they first opened. I took advantage of their monthly membership program where you get discounted monthly floats. You could bank your float session if you do not use it in that month. Your membership could get you discounts for additional sessions or to gift to others and also on the products they sell. Their online booking could not be any easier or more convenient. They do get fully booked days or up to a week in advance, but you can add yourself to their wait list for specific time slots in the event of a cancellation. For those who are new to floating, the first session or two could feel weird or too intense or the session too long for some, but after getting used to sensory depravation you will find it very calming and an excellent environment to meditate or for self reflection. Thanks Float Toronto for helping me find calmness and relaxation which we all need!

"Quest" model cabins that are tall enough to stand in are standard for all floats. $39 Price for first timers' 3-pack is very attractive. Water is extremely buoyant. Compares to the better float spas out there. HOWEVER- the fan noise in the room is audible even in the chamber. HOWEVER the first and last floats of the day are double-sessions. That's right two hours for 39 dollars. Wha??!! At least the music can be switched on to mask the fan noise by you can used to it. Eventually you habituate to the fan. But I wish the intermittent noise and low speed noise can be dampened and resolved in future. To me the room fan noise detracts overall. Some reviewers have mentioned feeling streetcars or traffic. I didn't during my 1st float but then again I was in room 5 which is furthest from the street. The staff are helpful and the ambience is very nice. Artwork is very cool. Yes there is a "hippy dippy" vibe in the main lobby but I like it and really, it's not that out there as some reviews state. And it suits the neighborhood. And I'd rather that than some clinical looking space. My gold standard is still the float spa with my only 5-star rating here on yelp. However the value is hard to beat here and it is open late.

I went for my first ever float yesterday evening and I really liked it. Staff at Float were super friendly and helpful, and offered me a nice peach tea while I waited for my turn to go in. It was very relaxing. I've been getting a few questions about the process so I figured it would be helpful to have some idea of what happens when you walk in. So this is what happens when you walk in. I had already paid and made my appointment online, so I just walked in around 15 minutes before my appointment. I signed a release form, drank some tea, and waited until my turn came. A friendly member of the staff showed me to the room I would be using, explained a bit about the tank, and some advice on ear plugs, then he left me alone to do my thing. The doors lock, so you have some privacy. I had the last float of the night, so it was 2 hours long, but standard floats during the day are around 1 hour. They have 5 rooms, each with flotation tanks in them, and it's easy to make an appointment online, which was a major plus. Each room has a shower, a bench, and a flotation tank, and a robe. Towels & ear plugs are also provided. They have scent pre-float shampoo & body wash you can use to get ready before going into the tank, and a more scented post-float shampoo and conditioner. The flotation tank has about 10 inches of water, and a whole bunch of dissolved salts (for max float potential), so it's easy to get into the tank, sit on the bottom, close the door, lay in the water, and then open it again, or whatever you feel comfortable with. At first I was a little anxious about getting lost into the abyss of the tank, and it just seemed to get darker, but as I found out, it's easy to find the door handle in the dark, and easy to open it whenever you need to. So after realizing it wasn't a big deal, and that I could open the door anytime, I closed the door, and floated away 2 hours without realizing it. When your time is up, there is music that comes on, and gets progressively louder to gently wake you or get you out of your relaxed state. There is no right way to do it, but I had a great time just floating around with my eyes open, enjoying the feeling of gravity mostly disappear, and also got some really good stretching in as well. Just be careful with the salt water, as you might expect, if you get it in your eyes - it stings! (but there is a towel with a water bottle near the tank door if you need to rinse) There was only a brief moment in the beginning of my float when I heard a siren from the street, otherwise, I didn't notice any street noise at all, and considering what I saw when I left Float last night, that's really impressive (lots of police activity, another ambulance that I hadn't heard). I'm usually pretty sensitive to sound, so mostly for me it was nice to have some near-total quiet and no vibrations other than the sound of my heartbeat for a couple of hours. I think they've got a great set up, and I didn't find their prices high (especially when compared with some other float places I've seen in the past) and they've got a variety of options to choose from on their website. The one thing that is worth mentioning, is that after floating and being relaxed and blissed out, walking out onto Queen Street at 1 am on a Friday night can be kind of shocking (not like this is a surprise of course, it's loud, and busy). I know I'd like to try and do a late night 2 hour float during the week next time. Otherwise, I had a really great time.

Saw deal on Groupon and thought I would give this place a try. My husband and I decided on a last booking at 10:30 or 11pm so we can extend our 1st experience for 2hrs rather than 1hr. As soon as you walk in... you feel the zen environment. You get a walk through of how to maximize your experience. Everything is really provided for you. If you brush/ comb your hair... that would be the only thing you may want to bring your own. In the tank room, you would start off by using the supplied ear plugs; foam or wax option. it is better to apply this when you are dry. Than proceed to take a quick shower and use thier prewash which is non scented. If you want to dim the lights... do this prior to getting in the tank. Helps your eyes to adjust when coming out. Enter the warm... body temp regulated tank. You can go nude or in swim wear. If you think you would benefit the use of the provided floating noodle... bring that in too. If you dont use it.... it just floats in the tank and does not obstruct you while in the tank. Once you close the door... it is completely dark. My biggest concern was if my head will stay afloat... if I was to nod off. The answer is yes. At first... this was when I used the "noodle" under my neck for support. My second concern was.... 2hrs, did I pick too long if a time? No... you instantly become so relaxed that time does not exist... or matter. Third thought was will my skin become wrinkled since I will be in for a long time. The salt water actually firms your skin. The only thing you will get is the salt firming a slim like thin layer on your skin and where water fades to dry spot, the salt ring. Once your time us up... soothing music notifies you and you have 10mins to shower. Thier post float shampoo and conditioner is an AMAZING product and smells great. Nice towel to dry off. In the back, you will find q-tips, hair ties, brushes, mouth wash, contact lens solution, all hair products imaginable and hair drier. They really did think of everything! Enjoy mineral water or a nice peppermint tea before you leave. Great 1st experience. I will be back. My husband is not the most adventurous.... he throughly enjiyed his experience as well.

I can't say enough about the AMAZING experience I had BOTH times I've floated at Float Toronto. The guys are friendly, accommodating, and the facility is top notch. Before your float, they offer kombucha, specialty teas, water, etc. They also welcome you, and explain things very thoroughly to ensure proper procedure is maintained, and you have the BEST float experience possible. Each float room has a brand new shower with unscented shampoos and body wash for pre-float, and post-float, along with your own comfy bath robe and plenty of towels. The floatation tanks themselves are awesome. 8ft long by 5ft wide. Access (entrance) and egress (exiting) of the tank is relatively simple, and a face towel and spray bottle is provided on the handle of the door in case you happen to get the saltwater into your eyes. They also provide 2 styles of ear plugs to wear in the tank which stop water from going into your ears as well as help to block out any extra sounds. Again - I cannot say enough about Float Toronto. I drive all the way from Windsor just to float here, and I CANNOT wait until my next visit. I also plan on buying floats for my friends for Christmas/Birthdays because I think this experience is very important and enjoyable. BONUS: THEY ARE LICENSED TO SELL SELECT FORMULAS FROM ONNIT.com - one of the BEST places to find anything you need for TOTAL HUMAN OPTIMIZATION. Bring your mind and body to the next level and get to KNOW YOURSELF at Float Toronto!

Such a tough review to write. This was an experience that I felt so differently about at various points; but I decided I would in fact recommend it and maybe even do it again. I won't repeat what everyone else says in their reviews, but I would like to add points that no one has raised: 1) Definitely do not shave (as they instruct) or have any cuts -- you will die. 2) There are HUNDREDS of towels in the hallway outside the rooms. Take towels. They only leave you ONE towel inside the room! This was so unhelpful, especially since every step along the way involves a towel - pre wash, if you get salt in your eyes, post wash, etc. Take them before you get undressed. 3) There's no reason for the bathrobe. You can't really sit in a "tea room" and unwind afterwards; it is adjacent to the front lobby and everyone (including the staff worker) talks in there and you can be seen from the street. They should have this post-float room in the back, it is basically non-existent. When I got out of my float, every seat in the "post float tea room" was taken by others on their phones. Couldn't determine if they were pre-or-post float. 4) do your research ahead of time, because everything is sooo intimidating when you are there, and if you don't feel comfortableish going in, you won't get comfortable in your hour. 5) I don't know why but I freaked out at the beginning because I was convinced I wouldn't be able to find my way out when I was in there -- but the rational part of me realized it's a rectangle, and not a circle, so you CANNOT float all the way in a circle and not know where the door is. Place your head away from the door (feet at the door) and just know that the door is always at your feet. That calmed me down a lot. 6) It gets HELLA hot in the tank. 7) I didn't have any super out of body experiences, but I have felt extra relaxed the rest of the day. I went when I had extreme stomach pain, and it felt nice to float. 8) Take the noodle in with you, even if you don't end up using it, the option was nice. Recommend as an experience, even if you just try it once! I'd prefer to go when it is colder outside or later in the day, going mid-day was kind of odd.

Best to bring your own water bottle to refill your bottle with a water station they have. They also do not have any towels but if you'd like to bring one just in case you can as well. I've never tried Good Space before but decided to sign up for their intro package (3 classes for $50 + tax) with no expiry date on the classes. I stopped by on Wed around lunch. Upon entering the studio I was greeted by staff, who was also the instructor of the class I would be taking. Signing up for classes is fairly easy which can be done online. They use the Mindbody booking system so you'll need to create an account if you don't have one with them. The class I signed up for was a "Move" Vinayasa flow class. I told the instructor it was my first time at the studio and she showed me a brief tour of the place pointing out the entrance area where I should put my shoes + belongings as well as the washrooms, changerooms, and yoga practice room. The aesthetic of studio is light and airy with plants throughout. The instructor already had laid out the mats in the studio and I picked a spot to my liking. Props are at the back of the room. The instructor, Sam, took us through a Vinyasa flow, which was nice as some poses provided some strengthening aspects. I don't particularly do yoga often but I was able to follow her instructions. Moreover, I took a spot in the 2nd row so I could also look at others if I was lost. Once class is over, you're expected to use a spray bottle and sponge to wipe down your mat and hang it back up on the wall. Overall, Good Space offers a welcoming space for all (beginners, intermediate, or advanced) to practice yoga. The instructor was friendly and attentive. I felt welcome and included in the class even though it was my first time there. Definitely will use up the rest of my intro pack classes and would be interested in exploring their other credit packs in the future!

I have always been interested to try Othership but was afraid to take the first step. I was able to try one of their guided classes recently as I received a free credit. I booked a deep stretch guided class around noon mid-week. Not knowing what to expect I went in with an open mind, allowing myself to explore and be curious about the experience, as well as try new things. Prior to the class, I probably was most anxious about the cold plunge part of the class. Upon entering Othership, you are greeted by staff where you are checked in. I did tell staff it was my first time there and they gave me a tour of the space. I was also given a wristband to wear, indicating that I was a first timer there - this is done so that it is easier for the instructor to identify the newcomers in the group, just in case we needed extra guidance or direction. Facility wise, Othership is a nice sanctuary in the city. The changerooms aren't terribly big but they do have private change rooms you can utilize. There are lockers you can store your belongings and shoes are not allowed in the sauna/cold plunge area. They provide you with 2 towels and there is tea as well as water (and cups) available. The bathrooms are at the very back past the cold plunge area. In regards to my class, we were able to settle in and the instructor explained the guided class and what we would be doing as we settled on the couches. She was aware that many of us were first timers in the class, knowing that we would be anxious about the cold plunge. She told us to embrace our own journey, with the understanding that everyone is starting at different places with different levels of experience. This pre-class talk was quite reassuring and I felt a sense of comfort sharing this experience with others, knowing that we were in this together. In the guided deep stretch class, we were first in the sauna for about 25-30 min where we did a series of breathwork and stretching, focusing on different parts of our body. The sauna was quite hot after a while and I was dripping sweat but the focus on the breath was a key factor in managing how I was feeling and the heat. After the sauna we were split into 2 groups where we did the cold plunge for 2 min (prior to the plunge you have to rinse off your body using the communal showers). I was so nervous about this part of the class but I was able to stay submerged for the whole 2 min. Having a focus on your breathwork was crucial. After the cold plunge we all gathered in the sauna again where we did several more breathworks and had a sharing portion to the class where we could talk about our experience if we wanted to. Last 15 min of class we were invited to do another cold plunge, stay in the sauna, or relax and drink tea/water. Overall, I had an amazing first experience at Othership. Will definitely return to try more guided classes in the future!

The cold plunge is a well that states a one person limit, though many people went in with 2-3 people at a time. The entire atmosphere reminds you of a cottage getaway. Afterward, we went to the dining area where they offer complimentary tea at the cutest tea station. They also make homemade kombucha and offer pickle vodka shots. We ordered the borsht, cabbage rolls, dumplings, herring, and the sourdough pancakes. Right off the bat, everything was delicious. The borsht was probably one of the best I've ever tasted, especially with the sour cream and the tanginess of the broth. The cabbage rolls were juicy and seasoned well, the sourdough pancakes tasted like fried dough and had a rich buttery flavour as opposed to the sweet, cakiness you would expect from a pancake. But the most surprising was the herring, which came with pickled cabbage on top and was incredibly tasty. Definitely give this a try if you visit. The drinks were also made strong, despite the low price ($11-15 for a cocktail). We all agreed that we should return just for the food alone!

Scrubs are five dollars for purchase which actually is kinda crazy considering the size but I came for the full experience so you bet I bought one for the steam room. The sauna and steam rooms were INSANELY hot and the cold plunge was INSANELY cold. It was FANTASTIC lol! It was so foggy in the steam room I literally could barely see anyone else and my nostrils were burning from the heat. The water in the pool was nice and cold though and really helped keep cool in there. The larger sauna was super relaxing temperature wise and more for chilling out. If the cold plunge was too extreme there was also a chain and bucket that release cold water that was not nearly as freezing. There was a lovely cozy rest area with dim lights and a tv and in the nook of the dining area a plethora of stunning herbal, aromatic and fruity teas. As for the food itself, AWESOME. I was in absolute BLISS. The mushroom julienne was a pool of cheese, cream and mushrooms, what was there not to like there??? The bread was the only meh part of it all. The sour cream cake was lovely and fluffy. Very homemade vibes. I loved the experience and would absolutely come back again!
