First of all, my scrub and the 30 minute massage was perfect. Every thing went well. My complaint was the little cleaning woman who watched your every move. Despite the sign saying it was an unsupervised area, it was very supervised. She was on us the whole time. From the shoes, to the towels, to the hair ties, to the smoothies etc. It was so uncomfortable. I've been a couple of times before so I know you have to tie your hair up, I know you need to wear the shoes between pools, I know you're supposed to use the cubbies blah blah blah. Had an excellent time with a friend at Body Blitz. Super professional and helpful staff who walked us through all the available amenities and rooms. Everything was spotless and because we went on a Wednesday night we got to take advantage of a small discount on the body glow treatments and the limited guests in the facility. The aromatherapy steam room and the Dead Sea salt and Espom baths were so soothing and relaxing. I felt my sinuses opening right up in the former. Definitely would've liked if it was a little steamier or hotter in there because it was very much a walk in the park but enjoyable nonetheless! As for the treatments, I got a sweet milk and ginger body glow treatment which included a full body scrub, wash, and oil massage. It actually took me back to a Moroccan hammam experience I had in Marrakech. I absolutely loved it. This was an amazing experience but I gotta say it was NOT CHEAP. Definitely worth doing ONCE for a special occasions but I do wish it was more affordable to enjoy more often. I'd definitely come back whenever I return to Canada! read more

First time going to a place like this and it was cool! They had the whole cycle posted on the walls of which activity to do and for roughly how long. We went back and forth between a warm soak, then steam, cold plunges, and saunas. The steam room was really hot when I first tried it, but got better as I started to breath out my mouth and cover my face a bit so it wasn't too hot. Its nice that they pair the activities with time to relax and hydrate, with some smoothies they had that were awesome! Total time was maybe about an hour and a half which was just what we needed as a stop for a bachelorette party unwind. Overall, cool experience and would recommend it for a gift or event. read more

I had a great experience here. First off, the whole place is very clean. They provide you with slippers and a robe. The bathroom has lotion, hair spray and a blow dryer so that was nice for getting ready after. You go between the pools (varying temperatures), sauna and steam room. I think my favorite was the dead sea pool. We also ordered smoothies that are brought down to the spa area at the time of your choosing. The vitamin d smoothie was delicious. I used to love this place and often went with groups of friends to enjoy the day together. Unfortunately the customer service I received on my last visit will keep me from returning. We were unable to fully enjoy our last visit because the chemicals or salts or whatever they use, were so strong that it burnt our eyes and affected our breathing. We heard other people coughing and complaining as well. We did one shortened circuit and then could not take it anymore. We were in the pools for under an hour. The rest of the time was spent filling out the disclaimer and showering to get the heck out of there. Well! I spoke to front desk when we were leaving to express our disappointment. I was told that it is always like this because people don't shower before getting in the pools. Two things: 1. I don't think blaming the guests is an acceptable response and 2. I have attended this spa at least 10 times and it has never been like this. Understanding that the girl working the counter doesn't have much control over things I decided to leave and send an email to management. Well unfortunately, that didn't go over well either. Although she did give me a detailed description of how the pools work and apologized for her staffs response, she told me we spent 3 hrs there so she didn't feel our visit was a problem. I called her immediately upon receiving this email to say that she had her information wrong as we were in the pools from 3:30 to 4:20 pm. I was told that she would follow up and get back to me. Well, a month has passed and I haven't heard from anyone. Sad to have to find a new spa but hey! I have been visiting Body Blitz since I moved to Toronto in 2010. I was at the West so I used to go to the Adelaide location, now that I moved to the East, picked the East location for my first 2019 visit. First thing that shocked me is that it's now *mandatory* to wear swimwear bottoms. "For comfort" - they told me - whose comfort, I don't know. I had been a patron of the spa for 9 years and felt very comfortable with the idea that no one was looking at my bottom, and a visit to Body Blitz, pretty much the only place in Toronto where you could be a woman, strip your clothes off without any fear of being judged or watched, is now gone. The safe space for women is no more: Body Blitz became another regular spa that tells women their bodies are being monitored according to some random standard of "comfort". Since I didn't even know about the Bikini Bottom Policy, I didn't bring a bathing suit with me. They told me I could buy one - no thanks, I'm not giving you money to support my own discomfort - but kindly offered me a disposable one, which was, as one can imagine, truly uncomfortable. I would have been 100% more comfortable naked. You only see what you look at. If you don't want to see someone's private parts - DON'T LOOK AT IT. You shouldn't be doing it anyway, it's a spa, not a sex club. I can imagine some reasons why this happened - Body Blitz is a women-only spa and there are women-identifying people who have penises, so possibly some transphobic backwards person complained they saw a penis and made a scene. Here, I have a solution: ban the transphobia, don't force the trans woman (and all other women) to cover their genitals. The transphobic shouldn't even have looked at other women's genitals, for starters. Someone might have argued it's "unhygienic" - it's fantastic to make claims! Everyone can claim things! I can claim naked people are happier, make more money and will dominate the world - see, it's easy to make baseless claims. Claims are only valid when you have reliable, verifiable sources to back them up. So, to keep it simple, a policy that makes me sure I am having my bottom constantly watched has been implemented for someone else's comfort, the prices are now higher, I wasn't even consulted on how I felt about a policy to make someone feel better when ogling women's bodies, and it ended up being the most unremarkable spa experience in a long, long time. I have visited many spas in many different countries, and all I have to say, I can understand why Body Blitz ratings are sinking. I used to really love this place especially during winter and even bought a pass with a bunch of tickets to go all winter but now it smells so badly of chlorine because I think they're going on the cheap and putting less of the dead sea salt. It makes my head feel really awful so I'm not sure if I will be going back again and I might just give somebody the rest of my passes! Also I didn't know I couldn't check in important email and when they saw me looking at my phone they got very rude to me even though I was looking at it inside of a locker and they couldn't tell me politely but got very rude. The people at the Adelaide location at the front desk need some social skills training ! Also the prices have gone way up and for somebody who just likes sitting in a warm dead sea salt pool for an hour I think more than $40 is a little exorbitant ...Especially since it's really not mostly dead sea salt but maybe a cup full and the entire pool so they can claim there's some! read more

Absolutely the worst customer service. I was gifted a package and unfortunately I was not able to attend the for the date it was booked for. I phoned the same day to make arrangements for another time. I called about 4 times and no answer and no call back (I left a voicemail). I called the next morning (the day of my booked package) to let them know I would not be able to attend. They finally call me back about an hour before my scheduled time. The spa let me know they require 24 hrs to process a change and I would need to pay a fee of 50% of the value of my package as a penalty. I was never made aware of any cancelation policies and I never received a confirmation email. I was left a voice mail the day before saying I could call back if I needed to make any changes. I have called about 15 times now. Left voice mails, sent emails and NOBODY has bothered to contact me. They did charge the credit card of course. Zero customer service from this place. Is it too soon to refer to Body Blitz as my happy place having only visited once? I hope not, because I'm already thinking about when I can make my next appointment! I checked out Body Blitz East two weekends ago as a birthday treat to myself. I booked my appointment about 1.5 weeks ahead of time. They didn't have space available for me to have a scrub AND a massage, so I opted for just the scrub. It was admittedly a bit disappointing because if you add a massage to your treatment, you get it at a reduced rate That being said, I was bound and determined to enjoy a spa day for my birthday, so I settled for just a scrub. I arrived early in the morning (9:30AM on a Saturday), and I'm glad I did. When I entered the waters, there was only one other person present in the sea salt pool (and two in the sauna). When I readying myself to leave (post treatment, around 12:00PM) there were a few large (and noisy) groups getting ready to start the circuit. When I visit again, I will once again opt for a first-thing in the morning circuit. The room is large and echo-y, and I can imagine my experience wouldn't have been as stellar if I found myself in the pool with a large bridal shower party. There are signs everywhere asking patrons to respect other spa-goers, but I can imagine this isn't always the case with these larger groups. I really enjoyed the water circuit. I've done water treatments before at other spas, but I've never felt as relaxed as I did at Body Blitz. When I first stepped into the pool, I was a bit worried I'd be bored without my phone or tablet (I know, I'm the worst). Once I actually let myself relax, I relished being away from these distractions for 1.5 hours. The time flew by. I did the circuit as recommended the first time around and then adjusted based on my preferences the second time. I loved getting an iced tea brought to me poolside. I felt so pampered. There was a spa attendent overseeing the waters and change rooms, but I never felt her presence to be intrusive. As 11:00 neared, I rinsed off in the handy pool-side showers, and waited in the luxurious lounge chairs for my treatment. Brittany showed up promptly at 11:00 and ushered me upstairs for my body scrub. I will admit - if you're not comfortable with a perfect stranger seeing you in various states of undress, a body scrub is not for you. The room I was brought to featured little more than a large, vinyl-cushioned table, a stool, a hose, a heat lamp, and a disposable thong for you to wear. You CAN opt to have the scrub done in your bathing suit, but I'm not shy. Disposable thong it is! The treatment started with a full body wash down while I lay on the slab, face-down, followed by the salt scrub. After that half was finished, I was flipped over for the same treatment on the front of my body. My eyes were covered with a warm towel (protection from the bright light of the heat lamp), and I admit that there was a moment, as my mostly unclothed body was being hosed down, it felt a TEENSY bit like I was lying on a coroners slab. Having not treated myself to many experiences like this before it took some getting used to, but I just reminded myself that I was being pampered, not prepped for autopsy. After the scrubbing was completed, I was dried down (as was the table). Looking at the clock, I was curious how the next 35 minutes of my 60 minute treatment would be spent. I was delighted to learn that remainder of the time would be spent moisturizing my body from head to toe. Once my treatment was over, I wasn't as upset that I didn't get my add-on massage, because Brittany massaged moisturizer into every part of me, with special attention paid to my disgusting runners feet, and my office-job forearms. After 60 minutes I felt like a whole new person! It may not have been RMT, but it was relaxing and rejuvenating! I was so delighted with my first Body Blitz experience! From being provided with a robe, towels, flip flops, and a locker (so I could pack light) to small touches like the fresh lilies in wall-mounted vases in the washrooms, Body Blitz was just what I needed to usher in a new year. Some complain that Body Blitz is on the pricey side. My scrub cost $140 (before tax), but that included access to the waters (which cost around $50 on a normal day, I believe). As well, Body Blitz does not allow for tipping. I didn't ask why. So before tax, my 60-minute scrub could be said to cost around $90, and was worth every penny. For me, I can definitely see myself earmarking $140 every couple months or so to enjoy this experience once again. read more

What a great experience. I came here for a RMT massage but was advised I could come hour and a half earlier to "enjoy the waters" so I decided to check out what it was. I loved my experience in the waters. At first I thought the pricing was outrageous but then I went and it is totally worth it (still pricey though at $44 on Tuesdays or $54 every other day). However, it is complimentary if you book a service so mine was included in my service. Their prices for RMT massages are about $40-50 higher than other places though so they may as well be included in the price. If you book a service, take advantage of the waters. It is so relaxing and nice. In fact I think I enjoyed it more than the actual massage. The spa is very new and modern. The waters area includes: warm Dead Sea salt pool, hot Epsom salt pool, cold plunge pool (very cold, dip in and then get out!), aromatherapy steam room, infrared sauna (love this! It got hot fast!). They have a chart and a circuit for you to follow. There is also nice showers with great smelling soap and shampoo, lounge chairs, bathrobe, towel service and your own flipflop. It is also bathing suit optional. Reminds me of the hot spring experience in Taiwan. After the water experience, I felt very relaxed. Then I went to get a therapeutic massage. My therapist is quite gentle and gave me a relaxing massage. I didn't feel like she worked out the kinks in my neck and back per se but it was so comfortable that I fell asleep. (or maybe I was super tired that day) The only thing stopping me from giving this place a 5 is because it's really expensive and I feel it is slightly over priced. My RMT also did not provide me with any information about what she did to treat my back or ask me to come back for more treatment. She seems to be more able to provide a relaxing SPA experience as oppose to treat my problems. I've been going to Body Blitz for a few years now and it is a solid choice for a day spa in the City. I prefer the East end location because it seems to be less busy overall. Courteous staff, clean facilities, and the water features are all wonderful. Temperature of all the pools are just right. Every service I've had here has been relaxing and very enjoyable. My go-to drink is the Iced Chai Milkshake and it's fantastic each time. This was my first time at a spa, so I have nothing to compare this to, so I'll just write about my experience here. The booking process for groups is very simple and straightforward. I really liked the ease of it, booking my group of 5 in 4 weeks ahead. Upon stepping into the spa, reception checks you in and you pay for your services. You are then led to the pool area and introduced as to how everything works, and pointed to the washroom, shower, and locker room area. The locker room area is a bit smelly but I honestly think it's due to the environment of the waters too (I wasn't able to smell anything after being in the pool area and didn't notice the smell until after I finished showering). Upon entering the pool area, my group was 1 of 2 that were there. It was quiet, serene, and overall pleasant to hang out in the waters. The circuit is rejuvenating, and there's some strange relaxation after going in the COLD PLUNGE. As for my treatment, I was hoping I could just switch times with another girl in my party and was informed by the RMT that this would not be possible as this should have been addressed at the front upon check-in. That lack of flexibility was a bit disappointing as we had the same treatment so I figured it wouldn't matter. I then went on to get my massage. In hindsight, I think I should have asked for a different area to be massaged because I didn't wholly enjoy my back massage. I wasn't super relaxed, whereas all the other girls in my party LOVED their massages, and even fell asleep during the massages. I was surprised because I received mine first and just got a meh satisfaction level out of it. I suppose that is my fault for not choosing a better area to get massaged? After I finished my massage, I came back to the pool area and noticed at least 3 more groups had arrived to the pool area. While in the sauna, I noticed some flashes that went off and promptly informed one of the staff members who then spoke to the girls who somehow managed to sneak a phone into the pool area. Surprisingly they weren't kicked out of the spa unlike the spa policy that states that anyone with electronic devices would be kicked out. I didn't see any flashes or cell phones after that, but nonetheless, those pictures were taken and I saw at least 2 flashes so I guess those photos are still on that phone somewhere out in the world...a bit disturbing too because there was in fact nudity in the spa. I guess because the staff didn't catch the person in the act perhaps that is why they weren't kicked out? Nonetheless, still a disturbing thought to grasp when everyone else must adhere to these rules and then some rebels disrupt the peace. read more

I just got back from the new Body Blitz East and I must say I had a fantastic time. The service was great and the kinks (mentioned in other reviews - sauna and steam room temperatures) were defiantly addressed. Now that they have been open for a few weeks it seems as though they have found their footing as all around me I saw happy faces. I do have a few tips for people making there way there, especially those who are looking for a relaxing zen experience - don't go with a group of friends as this encourages discussion/chatting and takes away from your and other peaceful experience - if you can find the time to go during a weekday, do so. The spa is less busy and quite (that is how prefer it at least) Two things that would improve my experience include - slippers with some grip as the concrete floors get wet and slippery (unsafe) - the staff need to use a better mop to address the wet floors. While it is obvious that someone comes to mop the floors frequently (I saw the staff at least thee times while I was using the water facilities) the mop that is being used is not doing a great job. It think graduating from a household swiffer like mop to an industrial sized one is in order. read more

I visited Body Blitz East for the first time on Saturday. I booked a 60 minute massage which included access to the pools, sauna and steam room. Upon arrival, I was offered the opportunity to buy a healthy drink and given a tour of the facilities. The receptionist also gave me advice on the cycle for the pools/sauna. She provided me with flip flops and a key for a locker which contained a robe and 2 towels. My 60 minute massage which included access to the therapeutic waters came to $175. It's pricey, but it has the potential for that price to be worth it. The facilities are great, but the experience is what matters most. The RMT did a good job for my full body massage. She had very strong hands. While getting a massage, it sounded like someone was wheeling a laundry cart up and down the hallway and every time the RMT squeezed the massage oil onto her hands it made a super loud sound. Very difficult to relax when there was so much noise! Afterwards, the RMT provided me with a cup of water and my receipt. I was hoping for some feedback on problem areas - every time I've gone to see an RMT they've always given me feedback on tight areas, knots, stretches I should be doing, etc. The therapeutic waters could have been an incredible experience, but it was so loud! They do not enforce the "no talking" and "silence" rules at all. RMT's were coming in yelling client names, staff were yelling names for people who ordered juices, and all of the women in attendance were talking to each other and laughing very loudly. When I left the spa, my body felt good from the massage, but I did not feel relaxed whatsoever. I will not be returning due to the excessive and annoying noise. Hopefully this spa will realize that people want to go to a spa for peace and quiet. read more

Instant addiction to the therapeutic water circuit - 5 stars. I appreciate how this spa posts a short description of the health benefits of each circuit. It's fun, relaxing and you feel great when you leave. Most importantly, it is clean. Some things worth noting: 1) Since this is a women's only spa you may encounter some free-spirits who are half or fully naked 2) Do not come with make-up on or else your mascara will smudge down your cheeks in the steam room 3) Save the gossiping and updates for the pool area since there is a no-talking policy in the steam room and sauna 4) Do not worrying about bringing tip money since tips are not accepted here 5) Need extra towels to warm up from the cold plunge pool - just ask one of the friendly staff 6) They do not serve alcohol but have a great selection of blended juices The spa treatment was not as fantastic as the water circuit. I feel that the spa rooms were not very inviting or comfortable - in fact I was reminded of a scene from the movie 'Saw' or I was about to be autopsied. The therapist was great - she asked all the necessary questions about pressure and such, but did not talk to me much until the end of the treatment. 3.5 stars. Conclusion - Water circuit again? Hell ya! I'll see you there next Tuesday when it is only $44. Spa treatment? Meh. I think I'll go somewhere else. read more

I really enjoyed my spa day here in the summertime. I had a gift card for a massage and a "sampler" scrub. I upgraded to a 1-hour massage and added an extra shampooing as well! I spent about 1.5 hours in the therapeutic waters which were divine. So relaxing. I like that they have giant showers for you to use during the circuit and they have signs around telling you the recommended order of the circuit. You can access the therapeutic waters for free if you have a treatment, such as a massage, booked. When you walk into the building, you pay for everything up front first and they ask if you want a smoothie to be brought into the waters area so that you can relax on the chairs afterward with your drink. They call out your name and your name is written on the drink cup as well. It was so convenient! It was new to me so I had to observe a lot to really understand the etiquette and what people do. The website FAQ helped a lot though. Bear in mind, this is a women's only spa, and some women use the waters completely or half nude. It is clean though and there are staff members constantly cleaning and making sure that people don't slip on the water. You can also wear a one-piece or two-piece bathing suit. You get a locker, robe, slippers, and a key to lock up everything. There are lounge chairs to sit on at anytime and usually that is where you will be called for any treatment service you may have made an appointment for. Although, some people just go to the spa to use the therapeutic waters without any additional treatments. The scrub and massage were so relaxing. Good pressure and the staff were very attentive. The shampooing was very interesting as I hadn't experienced that before. It was also very relaxing and they used a lot of argan oil for my hair and scalp, so afterwards, my hair was still quite oily when I blow-dried it. There is a powder room area with blowdryers and large mirrors for women to do their grooming before they leave the spa. It can get quite crowded at certain times, particularly on Tuesdays when there is a discount for the use of the therapeutic waters. Unfortunately, I could only go on a Tuesday due to my schedule that week, so it was quite busy by mid-afternoon, particularly with younger girls who were probably on summer break. This would be a nice place to relax on your own, for a girls' day out, or for a low-key bachelorette party. read more

My first time doing anything like this before and I had a great experience. I am a naturist so I had no issues walking in the nude. And it was a last minute decision on going there so I didn't have a bathing suit on me. Not that I would have worn one! ha! there were about 6-8 other women in the spa/water area. Some topless some not. You have a robe and 2 towels plus flip-flops to wear. As a plus size lady the robe was too small and I asked the attendant if they had larger sizes. She did bring me a plus size robe and it was nicer than the skinny people's robes!!! haha! I really enjoyed the different types of water features, the steam room and the sauna. The sauna could have been hotter for my liking. The hot water tub was a little too hot for me so I knelt on the ledge to keep cool. The cold tub was FREEZING I went to my stomach once but the second time I only made it to my knees! haha!! I liked the jets in the main hot tub which isn't a tub because it is so huge! But I moved my back around on the jet as a massage feature which really helped my back. A girl was there and I thought she was a patron just letting ladies know about a face mask. She offered my friend and I some and I asked her: do you work here? She said yes: she does the spa services. The mask was very nice and effective as my skin is now reflecting the impurities coming up! ha! I stupidly went back. I will go out of my way now to NOT recommend them on the basis of their front desk staff not being able to think outside the box, not being intelligent in any way and not actually being able to listen. Standing there waiting for a chance to cut someone off when they are in the right is disgusting. I paid for my sister and I to go as a gift on December 1. She wanted a receipt for her RMT treatment for tax purposes. Agent argued with me for 10+ minutes, wasting my spa time and wearing my patience very thin, accusing me of yelling. She kept insisting I could not pay for my sister and submit it to insurance. I never asked for that. I never suggested I wanted to commit insurance fraud. I can't understand how I get accused of yelling if she wasn't even listening to what I was saying . She was a complete ****ing tool and eventually, after explaining my request to her manager, I was allowed to pay and my sister given said receipt. No sorry, no ownership, no offer of a hot drink even. $475 lesson learned. Very stressful encounter. I've never felt ready to slap someone before in my life. read more

I'm a big fan of the West location - so when my 30th rolled around, I figured why not pamper myself with a day at the Spa. I just happened to be visiting a friend in the east end that day - so it was the perfect reason to try out BB East. This location has more street parking then the west location, there is no lot near by that I found. If you're going early in the AM, you'll be fine, but as the day rolls on it will be hard to find parking. That being said, street parking is fairly cheap in this area. Before I even got to the spa, the staff member who booked my treatment was super friendly and very warm. She offered great advice as to what treatments were the best deals, staff pics, most popular and what would be best for my skin type. I settled on the Deluxe Sweet Ginger and Milk treatment - it was a great choice! I started by arriving early to use the waters - they have changed out the green tea pool for an epson salt bath - and it really doesn't loose the green tea effect. The circuit is the same, same times and same elements, just a minor change of that one pool. By arriving for one of the first treatments that day - I was able to enjoy the waters with out many women there. While waiting for my treatment and enjoying the waters, I did order a smoothie and even though I noted an allergy, they made it wrong - but did remake the beverage. I would have thought they would have offered me a free drink on my next visit to make up for it - but alas, they did not. Once it was time for my treatment, I was taken upstairs to the rooms....much like the west location - you feel slightly like a dog at a groomers - the tables are plastic and the rooms are a tad cold. My treatment was amazing! I ended up smelling like a orange creamcsicle! AMAZING! If you're looking to pamper yourself - this treatment is great! It might sound a bit pricy when you check it out on the site - but it's well worth it. You also have to take into consideration, that your treatment cost also includes the use of the waters. This was my first time at the east location. I didn't have the greatest experience at the west location, so I decided to try King st. The circuit was great. Water was the right temperature and it really enhances the entire experience. However, if you're looking for a quiet day at the spa, this is not the place to go. No one enforces the no talking rule and it can get very loud. My massage therapist was amazing. Kept the talking to a minimum and focused on my problem areas. I will definitely return. read more

It used to be my favourite spa. But now it's very hard to get someone on the phone. After calling multiple times someone finally picked up answering in a manner that told me that this person was on a personal call. Then she corrected herself she then took her time to book myself and my two other friends in. When she finally did and I got my conformation it was booked on the wrong day. Then they told me they were full and try to give me and my friends half of what we wanted at another location. Trying to book on their website is a nightmare everytime you book something and try to confirm it says the time is already booked. Not going to this spa again till they get their stuff together. read more

Location: On the south side of King Street East conveniently right off the DVP. Street parking is available for a cap of 3 hours on weekdays ($4.50). Quality, Service and Price: Massage rates a slightly higher than your typical spa, but I guess you are paying for access to the water circuit for that premium. When it comes to the circuit, I prefer this location over the one on Adelaide. The steam room is hotter with more eucalyptus (imo a little bit too strong actually), and the cold plunge isn't freezing (like the one on Adelaide). At this location, they ask you for your shoe size to give you flip flops, but they do not ask you for your robe size. It's whatever is in the assigned locker. However, I did stop a staff member to ask for an appropriate size and they did accommodate me. I need an XS but an XL was in the locker. Smoothies were delicious but pricey. I asked for it to be delivered to me half and hour before my massage so I had time finish up the circuit and relax while I sipped. The massage itself was okay. I had Trish who was laid back and kind. However, I felt that her pressure was uneven. She started off extremely soft, so I spoke up and said that she could be a little harder. But she focused mostly on my right side, very slowly, pressure was centralized for a prolonged time. Not sure that I liked that style. She never "walked me through" her thoughts or why she focused there until I asked when I left. I felt... lopsided LOL because both sides didn't get even attention. Even now a few days later, I don't feel particularly relaxed. As we left the room, I was lead right back to the stairs to head down to the locker room. Trish recommended that I drink some water. I would have liked if she lead me to a seating area and brought me some water so I could wind down from the entire experience before heading home. I asked for my insurance slip as I left and the receptionists had it prepared. Overall: I enjoyed my time at Body Blitz East, I prefer the circuit here over Adelaide's but I want to go where my preferred masseuse is. So until/unless I can find one I like more here at the East location, I will likely return to the West location next time. read more

This place officially just got too expensive for what you get. I've been going to Body Blitz for years. Since there was only one location. The services are meh. But the waters are pretty great and the circuit is rejuvenating. So I will usually go for waters only. I just received notice that the water therapies will now be almost $70 (68) for a single visit. Up $8. Might as well go to a spa. Like the ritz or the elm for those prices and have a luxury experience. Or maybe they will make Blitz more lux. I travel a lot so I go to all kinds of spa and water therapies in different cities. This simply is too much for what you get. read more

Love the first Body Blitz...great place for a hydrotherapy wellness day with friends, so *had* to try their newer East end location. This new location is still very central and the service was as friendly and helpful as the first BB... great to see consistency, and a second BB was needed based on the popularity of their first. The whole experience is unique and needed in Toronto, and love that smoothies are available and a host of other health treatments (like massage), but you can also keep it simple and just enjoy the water therapy treatments. A great business, and helpful to maintain my healthy new year's resolutions! Highly recommend BB for a therapeutic day to manage your stresses and treat yourself in a serene beautiful venue! read more

An RMT massage gives free access to the waters, which is a great deal for anyone who is covered by RMT services in their benefits. Make sure to check the details of your benefits, and book early because the RMTs get booked up more quickly than the other spa services that they provide. They have two locations in downtown Toronto and their booking staff is great. I came here to have a relaxation birthday with my cousins and we loved the clean facilities. They have various different pools at varying temperatures and different types of salt, as well as a steam sauna and a dry sauna. During my first time the front staff gave me a tour of the facilities and walked me through the cycle in which they recommend the pool usage. The massage therapists are professional and friendly. Body Blitz East makes for a great girls afternoon (it is a women only facility), great for catching up and relaxation together. I thought it was a genius idea to celebrate a birthday. I've spent too many of my past birthdays throwing huge barbecue parties where I get all worked up, and this was a fantastic change. I highly recommend Body Blitz East. read more

I am a total sucker for this spa - it's my go-to place for a little bit of (sorta) affordable relaxation, and also great for splurging for a special occasion. When you arrive at the spa for the first time, you'll be asked to fill out a health form just to make sure you don't have anything that may be aggravated by the waters. Then you pay the fee (I BELIEVE it's 65 + HST for just the waters, and the body glows are $175 + HST, but that price includes the 2 hours of the pools). If you've never been to the spa before, they'll have a staff member take you around the facility and explain how everything works. An attendant will give you sandals to wear during the duration of your stay, which is nice because the floors are super wet around the pool area. Towels, robes and lockers with keys are provided. A nice change from the Scandinavian spa is the fact that you're allowed to talk in the pools, and certain areas are designated as quiet rooms, so it's a great place to come with a group of friends. The spa is female only, and clothing optional, although I've only ever seen a few brave ladies actually go for it. The pools circulate in a cycle of hot-cold-hot, ranging from a large warm pool, a cold plunge pool, a steam room, an Epsom salt hot pool and a sauna. it's incredibly relaxing, although surprisingly takes a lot out of your body, so feel free to indulge in one of the teas of juices from the juice bar (I would recommend the strawberry protein smoothie) if you don't want to commit to a smoothie choice as you get ready for your water circuit you can always use the phone by the pools to call to the juice bar and have them add it to your tab. If you're feeling indulgent I would HIGHLY recommend splurging on a body glow - my favourite is the sweet ginger and milk glow. If you have an appointment for a treatment, you'll be asked to relax on the lounges by the pool 5 - 10 minutes before your treatment to the therapist can come and get you. Jeanine has done my last two scrubs and she's THE BEST, very communicative and gives an incredible massage. The body glow starts with laying on a table and being washed down with the spa's signature mint lime body wash, after which you're scrubbed with a ginger and sugar exfoliant, and then have warm milk scented with vanilla and oranges (it smells like a classy creamsicle tbh) poured over and massaged into you. after the milk, you're rinsed and dried, and then get a full body massage with a skin protecting oil. You leave the glow feeling soft, slippery and SUPER relaxed. I would highly recommend this place if you're in need of some budget-friendly relaxation! read more

Fabulous prices ($50 Tuesdays for the circuit!), delicious libations, relaxing circuit. People are very respectful of each other, and being noisy. May have been my first visit to this location, certainly won't be my last. That eucalyptus steam is incredible! Parking was easy and cheap, and right around the corner. Got a locker, towels, bath robe and flip flops upon arriving, and ordered a beverage from their refreshing, innovative menu of various hot and cold items. It really hit the spot after the extra warm bath. Afterwards, showers were incredibly clean, and the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are all sold there as well, so you can try them out, and buy them later. Also, lots of stuff to make wrapping up your day/evening easy...blow dryers, combs, brushes, gel, body lotions... Haven't tried the spa services, but as far as the price for doing the circuit, spent the afternoon/evening enjoying the waters, right up until they closed. For less than $60 for the waters and a cool refreshing drink, you can't beat the price for the services rendered. Highly recommended! read more

Went there early this week and my boots were stolen while I was getting treatment and using the spa facilities. They have a "boot cupboard" for you to leave your boots because the lockers are too small, however it is not locked and free for taking for whoever needs new boots I guess. Spa staff didn't seem too concerned or care much. I spoke to the manager and only got a hold of her because I called back twice. She went on to respond that I "could've made the boots fit in my locker, and we have a locked cupboard in the reception if you really wanted to lock them up." You shouldn't blame your customers for items stolen on your business property and not properly inform them about options for storing their valuables. The staff handled it very poorly which is very surprising and disappointing since it is supposed to be a "nice" establishment. At the end of the day, my expensive boots are gone and it's done, but just a warning to the rest of you ladies who are planning to go there, lock up everything. This place left a bad taste in my mouth to say the least and I will never be returning there. read more

I haven't been to the West location yet but I can't wait to try it. The East end location is 5 minutes from my house so I was suuuuper excited to see they were opening there. I have been twice now and I love it every time. I went once on a monday and of course it was very quiet which was super relaxing. My body scrub was fantastic, I had never been put on a bed and just showered on it. It's amazing. The second time was a sunday but it wasn't crazy busy, just a bit louder and a couple girlfriends' parties were taking a big part of the pools but honestly if you don't want to get that kind of atmosphere just don't go anywhere on the weekend... Again I had a fantastic scrub and massage and I love their chai iced drink! I won't be returning for a while as it stays a very expensive hobby and I would need an occasion. But next I will try the West end one and review as well to see the difference. read more

Body blitz has been my treat in the city whenever I really needed to escape, and I usually visit about 2 times a year. My most recent visit to the spa was terrible, for the following reasons (At the King Street location): Excessive levels of chlorine: midway through my spa visit, I started sneezing incessantly, my skin started to break into a rash, and my eyes started burning to the point that I could not read the reading material I had brought. As mentioned, I've been here many times and have never experienced this issue, leading me to believe that for some reason the levels were excessive on this particular day. These issues resulted in me staying for about half the time I normally do (at close to $70 dollars for entry, this is a real bummer) and went home feeling extremely sick. The effects (headache, runny nose, and other "cold-like" symptoms) lingered for 24 hours afterwards. Researching online, I found that these symptoms matched those of over-exposure to chlorine, and that they should pass in 24 hours after exposure. They lasted almost exactly 24 hours and I spent the entire time in bed. Excessive noise: There was a long wait time on the day I visited, indicating that it was a busy day overall, but the levels of noise in the facility were excessive. It is a social spa, but it's also located in a warehouse, and with loud conversations being had by most groups, you could barely hear yourself think. It was the opposite of relaxing and I had to use ear plugs when in the main area. There are signs around the facility suggesting that conversations should be in hushed tone, I mean this isn't a seaside pool in a vacation destination during spring break. But there was no attempt made by any of the staff to manage the levels of noise. Dirty facility: the facility itself feels old and like it's falling apart a bit. My locker was broken, which I only realized when I went back to double check. In addition I was looking to buy one of their facial scrubs (which have a very high price point at over $45 dollars) or other beauty products and when I looked on the back, they were expired! This is not the marker of a high quality spa using high quality products. In light of all of these issues and my normally positive visits, I assumed that the spa would want to properly address my concerns and would provide me with some kind of compensation for the experience, or some incentive to come again once the issues were resolved. I mean the spa made me sick! This was not the case. The customer service at Body Blitz is apparently non-existent if you have a concern. Not that the girls pay much attention to you when everything is a-ok, but they have absolutely no process for dealing with customer concerns. Buyer beware I guess. This is a very successful spa judging by the number of clients and their ability to open additional locations. But they were not willing to address a situation which they acknowledged was "outside of the norm". I would suggest saving your money for a trip to Spa Scandinave (awesome experience and customer service all around) instead of visiting this overpriced spa, with limited concern for their guests enjoyment or health, as evidenced by their response to my recent issues. The fact that they can continue to flourish as a business while not taking a genuine customer service issue to heart and indicating some responsibility and attempt to rectify the issue is really unfortunate in a city with so many options. read more

Went to Body Blitz East yesterday Sunday, 02 Dec 2012 at 12.30pm I was a fan of Body Blitz Spa (its first location on Adelaide). However, my overall experience at the East location was not a pleasant one and I would not go to this location again. CONS: - No parking - circled for 15 minutes still with no parking spot on the road - had to park somewhere else and get dropped off. Lucky thing my boyfriend lives nearby that location. - Waited around half an hour to get in - was informed that they have no spot inside and I had to wait for about 10 minutes to an hour depending on how fast the people were coming out. I spoke to another lady at the counter and manage to get in after 20 minutes of waiting. When I got inside it was reasonably empty and quiet. While I was waiting outside to get in within that half an hour, there were only 3 people that came out. - Water was all over the place - Sauna was not hot (lukewarm - was expecting a sauna to be a sauna) like the Adelaide location - Steam room was not hot at all (lukewarm as well - terrible) - Locker room was like a sauna - there was no ventilation at all - when I was changing into your clean clothes after my shower, I was perspiring profusely. It was a very unpleasant experience and it was rather stressful. Not a relaxing spa experience. - Bathrobe - L size in general - was made of a heavy cotton material and thick. I am petite. I prefer the nice kimono bathrobes at the Adelaide location. - Not enough lounge chairs around. Very noisy. I really felt that I wasted my money going to this location yesterday. Friends and I hit up Body Blitz's long-anticipated East location (King and Sumach) for some pre-Christmas togetherness. I made all of the appointments for everyone's services myself and because the East location wasn't actually open for business yet when I called in, I had to book through the West location. It felt weird and like it would eventually come back to bite me in the ass. AND IT DID. I love Body Blitz on Adelaide. I've been going there for at least 5 years. I have even reached a comfort level where I can deal with the nudity so that's really saying a lot. Body Blitz East is a different animal; it's all about the dollar there. It's way bigger and like a labyrinth. I get it, they did what they could with the space, but it's a mess. It was crazy-busy (like not conducive to relaxation busy) and they should probably consider capping the number of people in the waters circuit at any given time because it felt like a taping of "Girls Gone Wild: Spring Break Edition" and not what it was intended to feel like. While the services I had (massage and a scrub) were good, they weren't great. What I failed to mention at the beginning of this post is this; the appointments for the three of us were totally effed up. One friend actually ended up getting only one of her two services which, yes, is kinda #firstworldproblems but it's still a gigantic pain in the ass when you've been looking forward to a spa adventure for weeks and end up getting a massage you could get anywhere, in a place that feels like a frat party. Very disappointing second spa of the fantastic Body Blitz at Adelaide street West. Not worth 29.99 and it actually costs 54. 1. Most of the floor is covered with pools of water. Not very hygienic and unlike BB West. 2. One tiny bench in the locker room. 3. Bathroom robes so thick it makes them too warm to wear inside even for a short time. 4. Warm water pool: bench under water is too far removed from edge of the pool which means there is no comfortable reading or hanging position (if you're chatting with a friend). 5. Underwater jets too high in pool: difficult to get good massage. 6. Ceiling much lower than BB west. Makes the room feel danky and closed off. 7. Accessible lift opens right next to the mirror in the locker room. Dangerous and/or inconvenient. 8. Steam room. Not very warm. 9. Warm water pool is too small and has not enough corners for easy conversation with friends - again unlike the BB West end. The whole experience is disappointing especially since BB West is so well designed. Advice: wait until the BB in the West End opens again. It's your money, your time and your body.
