We've all seen the commercials. HEB headquartered in San Antonio, supports local Texas produce, as well as, in no small part, the local sports team with constant advertisements (especially during major sporting events). The store that used to be closest to us was the one on Highway 6 and Austin Parkway, then came the one on US59 and Grand Parkway. This one opened up a few years back. Despite seemingly closer than the one on US59 and Grand, it is actually a little farther. Weird, but at least that is what Google Maps seems to indicate. My wife and I is scared to shop at this HEB, not because it is not big (it is, quite), not because it is not clean (it is very clean), but it is really the placement of things that made it a bit confusing to navigate around that I always thought I am seeing similar products being placed at two different places. There is definitely a larger selection when it comes to the variety, and that's why it is very easy for us to over-shop and spend way more than what we already intended on shopping, just because we find something we new each corner we turn. I suppose to golden rule is right, don't go grocery shopping if you are hungry, you will only shop more than you want. HEB frequently has the coupon deals where they package together free, complimentary items together and if you get one, you get the main item, you get the complimentary item for free. Like if you shop for Fajita beef/chicken, you get a box of Pico di Gallo and some fresh tortilla for free with the coupon. You can also find these yellow coupon with black print throughout the store close to the items they are discounting, or all together in the back. I don't particularly like this coupon system, mainly because there are no pictures to show you what the products look like and the complimentary item can sometimes be hard to find (especially if they go brand specific) and often times they aren't placed together with the main item. Unlike the store on Highway 6, this one does not have a self check out kiosk, so everyone gets in line to a cashier. I am slowly finding myself utilizing self check outs more if they are available, especially if I do not have much items or they aren't heavy on produces. Not sure why, but there are some produces that are just a bit more expensive in HEB than Kroger, where we normally shop. One good part about HEB is that it does have a Gas Station and the gas prices are generally cheaper than the big name brands (Shell, Chevron, Valero, etc.) and you don't need to be a member, hence another reason it does attract a good amount of shoppers. All in all, we like this one more than the one on 59 and Grand, because this one is larger, cleaner, and newer. read more

Man oh man. I just moved to Sugar Land and I am a HEB fan, but I'm not feeling this location. It's overly crowded. I've never experienced having to stand still waiting for people to move on in each aisle. Each time there is a line of people with carts because it's so crowded on weekends, which unfortunately is the only days I can shop. First visit: Crowded but the sacker placed flowers on the bottom of the bag Second visit: I bring my own bags and I have one specifically for cold items. The sacker handed it to me empty and I said, "These are for frozen items." He says: "You have frozen items? My bad." Third visit: same issue. I said to the cashier, "How are you today?" He shook his head and kept scanning. Never complained with each visit and stayed polite. The straw that broke the camel's back was last Saturday I purchased Light Soy Milk and it expired in February of 2017 I will take my business elsewhere. Loyal shopper for ages and this is disappointing to deal with such unfriendly and uncaring staff. read more

Always clean and nice staff. Reasonable prices and I like the variety of foods. My favorite thing is the bakery and seafood section. I got some salmon last week that was delicious. The Guy was even nice enough to tell me how to cook it! I'm glad they are here. I wish they had more evamore water on stock. read more

This HEB is one of my favorite HEBs, if not the favorite. I like it even more than the packed Bunker Hill HEB. This HEB is clean and open. It has an extensive selection, the typical low HEB prices, and a nice vibe. I went on a Monday around 1 pm and the parking lot was only about half-full. Usually when I drive by, the parking lot looks full. Many checkout lanes were open but few had lines. The Pet Food aisles are well-stocked. There is a nice selection of wild bird food. I was in awe. I didn't expect to find that many choices of wild bird seed. They have a Cafe-on-the-Run with lots of prepared food near the north front of the store in front of the produce. The Sugar Land HEB is located at the intersection of Hwy 6 and University Blvd. It's a block from Hwy 90. read more

I ordered curbside pickup. The young man who brought me my order was wonderful. Upon opening and marinading my chicken, there was no issue. After beginning to cook the chicken the meat was obviously foul, no pun intended. Upon contacting the store I was hung up on twice. After I was able to get ahold of the store manager, again, after being hung up on multiple times, I was made out to be in the wrong. Just wanted an admission of fault over a bad bird, instead the young person who was the manager on duty continued to argue the facts about said bird, without taking responsibility, instead insisting that the 7 dollar refund was worth my time. This has now become my favorite HEB. I am very pleased with the variety of products they carry. HEB carries some high quality brands and even their own HEB brand is very good. Much of the products are from local resources. I adamantly refuse to buy cheap, "value" type off-brand anything. No way. So, yes, HEB has some good stuff. A favorite item of mine are the HEB sodas, regular and limited edition/seasonal varieties made with pure cane sugar. The stock is plentiful and items are fresh. It is rare that items are out of stock. Produce is available in organic and local. I'm very picky and yet I've never been disappointed with the quality of the fruits and vegetables I've purchased here. I still love the soft tortillas that are made in store. Whether corn, flour, butter, wheat or the puffy type, they are always fresh and perfect. The seafood department often has good deals on shrimp, oysters and catfish as well as other locally caught fish. The deli meats are another great option as there are many varieties including imported prosciutto and pancetta. The store is consistent in being clean and organized with items easy to locate. Cashiers are friendly and have improved in efficiency and ringing up items without missing any. The parking lot is huge and with angled parking it is very easy to get in and out with bigger automobiles. This place can be crowded on Saturday afternoons and somewhat on Sunday afternoons. Crowds are easy enough to maneuver around and the aisles have plenty of space. Employees are very good with gathering carts left by lazy people can't seem to put their buggy in the cart return. What is it with these trifling people? Just watch out for the ever present dummies that cannot understand what directional arrows mean. These people are, sadly, everywhere. I have two grocery stores I shop and enjoy. This HEB is definitely one of them. read more

Aside from being ginormous and clean... I love this grocery store because they have an extensive selection of cheese and wine compared to many other HEB. One time while I was shopping they were handing out wine samples like teasers that simply sold me! The FRESH squeezed juice station next to the produce is another plus. Who gets excited about a grocery store? Who gets a thrill over one of the most mundane tasks known to man? (Felicia steps forward) Perhaps it's because I don't have lots of kids and don't visit the store but about twice a month, as my goal is to stock up and then only return when I need replenishment. But I really like grocery shopping. Heck. Who am I kidding? I love ANY shopping. Except tires or hardware. Both give me a case of the Migraines. Back to the food... This HEB is top knotch. It's sprawling and bright. It is one of the few grocery stores in which employees are easy to find. You know, in case I have a question about a kumkwat. Adding to the stellar-ness (it's a word because I used it) are the samples. If you aren't inspired to cook or buy HEB products after a few tastings, just go home. Produce and meat are always fresh and they carry random things like swimsuit cover ups and flip-flops. I've never bought any of those items but you just never know what you may need when stopping for butter. And speaking of things you may need...Get your hooves polished in the nail salon inside the store. I giggle each time I see it (Toes! Nail clippings! Bread! Ground Beef! Cuticle Remover! - These go together, right?), but it is contained behind glass doors and is very posh looking. I'll be trying it soon and will crow about it when I do. read more

This is the best HEB in Texas. The seafood department has the best salmon and lobster . Just ask for mason and David they are amazing. You can buy 5 pounds or in my case 50pounds at a time. So fresh and always excellent quality. The produce is always nice, clean, and has a lot of organic choices. The juice is freshly squeezed daily. I love their OJ. The bakery I always found Monica there really nice. No matter if it is a cake order or just feeding my cupcake addiction the service is amazing. Sometimes I looking for an odd item or or larger quality. The store manager Hugh is just the best. He helps the customer order the items they need. This store is always going above and beyond. Even the sacker try hard to keep your fruit from being smooshed and your chemicals in a separate bag. They are so friendly and helpful! Overall it is worth the extra drive there! read more

I love this HEB. Like all HEB they're clean but this one is extra clean and extra bright? LOL. I don't know but it feels like it. Everything is usually fully stocked at all times. For all of you that is on a budget, they have a pretty big selection of meats that are discounted. This bakery is so AMAZING!! I had both my wedding cake and grooms cake made by Pat in the bakery and the were delicious and absolutely beautiful! The cost was very reasonable and delivery was even early. Which I was so happy about. They delivered to the church, the cakes and the 8 trays of food I purchased. I am so grateful and satisfied by this HEB and Pat the bakery manager, as well as the manager who helped me order all my trays. read more

I've going to HEB for years. I first started with HEB when they opened the store down the freeway (near Gander Mountain). I drove past several other grocery stores to go to this HEB. When a hurricane passed thru, most stores shelves were bare. HEB was the ONLY store I found that had their shelves fully stocked two days after the storm. The manager said they are based in San Antonio and they had trucks loaded with food. Once power was restored to the stores HEB sent the trucks in. Too bad our government isn't run as efficiently. I was really glad they opened this store close to my house. I like the way this HEB is laid out better than the other store. Maybe it's because I've been going here for so long now and I'm accustom to it. Most of the employees are friendly and helpful. The guys in the produce section are always nice. The same is true with the guys in the seafood department. The store is clean as well. However, there are some people who are not as friendly and this is why I give them 4 stars and not 5. The people in the bakery aren't very friendly. Whenever I want a loaf of bread sliced, they all look at each other like it's not their job. Finally, someone succumbs to the task of helping me. I've been ignored several times as well and had to say something to get them to help me. I've asked for a certain bakery item and I'll get a, "We don't have any." If they say this, then ask the employee to look on the cooling rack and to cut the attitude. It's so bad I thought about talking to the manager about it. The bakery is the only department that needs to improve. Other than the bakery, the store cashiers and other employees are nice and friendly. read more

I love the Sugarland HEB! I've driven by this stores several times on my way in and out of Sugarland, but never really bothered stopped by. Let me start off by saying this store is HUGE and super clean! It's pretty much comparable to the HEB at Buffalo Speedway, but I feel it's better and it's on my side of town (YAY!). I love the muffins, fresh OJ, and oh yeah HEB sushi is awesome. And they also carry refrigerated pet food (Fresh Select brand). I don't know why I always get so excited to go to this HEB. It always puts me in a good mood to shop around in a clean, well-organized store with such a large selection of produce, deli, meat, bakery, and just about everything else. read more

I love this HEB. When I lived in Sugarland and whenever I'm back in the area I come here for my grocery needs. They are usually always reasonably priced or having a sale on something. I especially love to come during the weekends to indulge in the yummy samples posted around the store. This store is the King of samples! This HEB is bigger than most and if you don't shop here often you may find yourself getting lost or going in circles trying to find whatever you need. But don't fear. Just read the signs on the aisle or ask an associate. I love the extensive selection of fruits and vegetables and the cosmetic section has a pretty good selection as well. The seafood and meat department have a great selection. This part of the store probably has the most expensive items. Try the prepackaged seafood entrées. They are so yummy. My favorite is the salmon. The artisan cheese section also deserve to be mentioned! The checkout stations are usually all open but be advised during peak hours/and or the weekends, this big store can get packed! And....they have wifi. Heck yeah, HEB! read more

Ordered a product via curbside service 8 days ago and went to pick it up today at 4:30, AND GUESS WHAT, THEY DID NOT HAVE IT!. Yes this is a hard to find product, THAT IS WHY I ORDERED IT EIGHT DAYS AGO!!! and DO YOU THINK THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT GIVES A DAMN, WELL THEY DONT. What stands out here against the other HEBs I frequent is the variety of the produce selection. They sell dragon fruit and guava?! Lol. I find that to be pretty odd that they have stuff I've never seen at other HEBs. It's definitely more exotic here. Plus they sell more outdoor stuff too. My bf bought a nice little patio table made out of stone for his dining room, and we bought a colorful pot for a plant we're going to transfer. This HEB has everything and more. Love this place! The set-up is very inviting and aesthetically appealing. Their fruit is almost always fresh, and there are TONS of samples all around! They have everything you need in a grocery store, and more. They have a dining place inside and the food looks delicious! However, to save you from disappointment, I will let you know that it's all cold and you have to utilize the microwaves on the side to heat the food up. Tip: Don't go on a Sunday afternoon unless you want to end up stalking people for a parking spot! read more

Definitely recommended, especially on an afternoon in the weekend. WHY: 1. Samples are abundant and there's a great variety of samples provided along with recipes available to take home. (freshly squeezed orange juice++) 2. Reasonable sales 3. This is probably the only supermarket I've come across that has a machine that freshly squeezes orange juice in front of you! 4. The HEB Sugar Land Market is huge! I came in two weeks ago, during opening week and it was packed! Yes, the store has so much more to offer than the regular HEB'S I have visited, but it is still no Central Market. The store was lively with customers and friendly staff that were kind and courteous. This new market contains a great variety of quality items. I enjoyed the selection of ingredients such as the butters, yogurts, and chocolates. The cheese display is marvelous, and offers a wide and global array to choose from. For someone who is fond of gourmet food, I would definitely recommend checking out the new HEB. The fact that you have more to choose from makes this place worth visiting. read more

Best HEB location in Houston. Huge, not busy (except on Saturday afternoon), lots of parking available, endless free samples, amazing variety of products. Clean and new decor. Even if you live closer to another grocery store, it's worth driving a distance to get to this one. Normally at a grocery store I'd shy away from store brands, for fear of them being a "cheap alternative" to name brands. Not so with HEB! When in doubt, go with HEB brand - for everything! This is still the best grocery store in the area, sad to say. Selection and cleanliness is good. Checkout continues objectionable. This time, I was unloading my basket onto the conveyor, not looking but simply plopping. After a while, I hit another can instead of the conveyor. The checker had been doing who knows what, but certainly not running the conveyor, so my cans were all piled up on the loading end. She had not scanned a single thing. So I picked up the cans two by two and carried them up to the cash register end of the conveyor, slamming them down with increasing force. The checker never noticed, or wanted me to think she didn't. The bagger put onions on top of my broccoli slaw. She put my bag of kale next to the onions as well, so it could get thoroughly bashed. I had two bags of onions, due to realizing later that I needed more, and where did she put the second bag? On top of the eggs, of course. And she did not zip any of the insulated bags. The guy at the prepared dinner counter is still a bit of a jerk. read more

This is my go to grocery store now since it is the closest. I've never liked the layout of HEB entering through the produce department and winding through the crowded section of produce then meat. You have to go during the week or very early in the morning to be able to get through. There's usually a traffic jam by the milk also. It gets 4 stars because the cashiers are always super sweet and have great customer service skills. read more

I don't particularly like going to grocery stores. They are crowded and it's hard to track down what you're looking for and I always end up in a mile long checkout line behind a crying baby. However...this heb is nothing like that. Oh no no no. This is probably one of the most pleasant grocery shopping experience I've ever had. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon to accompany a friend who needed to do some grocery shopping. Right when you walk in there's pretty plants and nice decorations and of course the free samples...who can forget about the free samples. The day my friend and I came we basically hit the free sample jackpot. We left the store with our belly stuffed with two different types of steak, yummy chicken, a small salad, bread, sushi, and lots more I can't even recall. Having samples to stop by in the middle of shopping really made our trip a lot more pleasant and fun. I took my mom here today and she loved it as well. The staff is very nice and helpful, the store itself is huge, and they even have fresh tortillas they make right in front of you! This might be our new fav grocery store! read more

I'm already a fan of HEB and this one is on the way home from my mom's house, but HEB Riverpark is closer to my house and on my way home from almost everywhere except Rosenberg. I loved the store. It's so roomy and you don't really feel claustrophobic, but when I heard that Central Market has made it's way to Sugar Land, I was excited. There's a more selection here, but I was disappointed by how small their Asian foods section was. Since I'm Filipino, I was hoping for a bit more. I was happy to find my shu-mei here, but I can go to Wel-Farm or 99 Ranch for that and more. The other thing I was looking for was Delaware Punch. If I happen to be in town, I'll stop at Central Market inside the loop to pick up a case. When I asked here the employee asked if it were like Hawaiian Punch. I can forgive that because I never heard of it until last year when my husband told me all about it. The bakery is a lot bigger than I expected and they have ice cream cakes, a WIDE selection of ice cream cakes. Always a plus in my book (and my hips). Will I drive here to do my grocery shopping? If it's on my way home, but I'll be able to find what I need at the Riverpark store too. Now for special occasions, this'll be the one I visit. Hands down. read more

This is my local HEB, and although the selection is not quite as large or varied as other HEBs I have previously frequented, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff here more than make up for it. I have never had a single negative experience at this location, and I am always happy to shop here. Whoever handles the hiring here does a great job! I would also like to note that HEB and Wal-Mart are virtually neck and neck as to which grocery chain is least expensive, and considering that HEB is Texas-based and offers a huge selection of locally grown and produced items, it really makes the most sense to me as a consumer to support HEB. read more

If you have coupons don't go here I had a welcome offer and supposedly it was a "double coupon" really isn't because you can pretty much use it on anything. Can I say wow? People weren't lying when they said the staff is ALL over the floor. This place has baller restrooms! I always joked with my boyfriend that cheesecake factory thinks they're so cool for doing motion sensor sinks, soap, paper towels, and bathroom doors...they have to work on making the stalls automatic too. Came here with a friend to buy things to prepare for a house party (so pretty much that meant 90% alcohol and 10% food). We found everything we needed all in one section. An extra star for having two different brands of Ace Cider. Didn't know which flavor to get so I bought both. Store was nice and clean, spacious. Things were pretty much easy to find and it was easy to check out. Parking was not crowded at all. read more

This is my HEB that I go to all the time now... the store is huge with lots of selection. I like to call it a hybrid between a Central Market and HEB. I usually come here at night because it's less crowded. The only thing I can say about this store that really stood out to me was the staff. They're always really nice and eager to help, when you can't find something. Numerous times the cashier would help me get my stuff out of the cart when checking out - I've NEVER had this done at any other grocery store before. Overall I love HEB as a grocery store. There is a lot of value and they push local products. This location has a few great extras you will not find at others store, Fresh Tortillas, anyone? They seem to have stopped the fresh squeezed juice (beside orange). They usually have one item (meat/fish sometimes produce) that has such a great price I am lured in. HEB has the best cooking demos and samples, awesome products and good service. I wish they had a good variety of Panderia style bread but they do try. This location can get really busy. Although this location is great there is something lacking, I can not pin point what it is. The parking layout is strange and seems lacking. The store layout is not the greatest. Dairy and meat should always be near each other with frozen near by. I am very OCD with store layout and this layout does not make sense. I do not think there is one HEB that has a good store layout. HEB is very loyal to Texas and supports the communities they are normally in. Whatever is lacking in this location is not lacking in the Riverpark 59/99 location. 59/99, by far,the music is excellent. read more
