Vanilla and Chocolate cupcakes with plain white frosting.

The food is top quality, the employees are always so nice and ready to help in any way they can, and I like that the isles are clean and organized. I've ordered from their bakery so many times for any occasion, my guest enjoy it every time. They're always so surprised I say "It's from HEB!" I recent orders cupcakes for my sons birthday. Cakes were moist for days after, the frosting was perfect. Fluffy and not overly sweet.

what can i say? here everything really is better literally my favorite supermarket. a few things i love: the customer service, the heb home goods, you can sample the meat before you buy in the deli, the diversity and variety of products and lastly the locally sourced heb brand products.

We love H‑E‑B! Always great produce and meat. My kiddos(okay and me too) love going on Sunday for the samples. The bakery is our go to for birthday cakes! They are amazing at customization and take a lot of pride in their design. It's obvious they enjoy what they do because it shows in their work! I am always in shock when I pick up the birthday cake because it turns out so much better than I expect.

Attention Sugar Land: We now have our very own Central Market! They may have called it HEB Sugar Land Market, but that's because it is in the suburbs.... but it is the suburban Central Market! We went to the preview and Grand Opening of this HEB and knew it was going to be a big store but we didn't know it was going to be this grand. We had watched this store be built from the ground up and it is truly gigantic. It has the typical stuff like a gas station, produce, wine and beer area, etc.... but what sets this HEB apart is that it's like two stores in one. On the right side of the store you have a Central Market like experience called Sugar Land Market and on the left you have a more typical grocery store. The Sugar Land Market side (like Central Market) has some amazing features. There are central market pre-made food, Central Market Cafe on the Run, an amazing deli with tons of different types of fresh made bread, home made tortillas, fresh made sushi, artisan cheeses, and even live cooking demonstrations. As we made our way around the store, we found a coffee bean roasting station, health food / natural products, grind your own nutbutter, bulk dry goods, and all the typical grocery store items. I was very impressed with the number of managers on the floor as we walked around. You MUST go check out this place. Not only is it new, clean, and bright, but it is really attractive. The walls are color coordinated to each section. HEB has definitely spent some serious money into making this fabulous grocery store. This WILL be our regular grocery store from now on. --------------------------------------- Edit 11/27/11: I didn't want to update already, but I had to add this edit note. I dropped this place a star because they have really brought the class level down. They have now installed a Redi-clinic inside (there are clinics and hospitals all around this area) and are in the process of adding a nail salon and Gold store. Please... those "we buy gold" places are horrible and we don't want one inside the HEB. Ugh.

This store I visited today seems brand new but most of photos have been around for years. Has this store always been at 530 Highway 6 and University?

    Yes it has! Great store!!!

I trust their standards, especially when I'm trying to avoid unnecessary additives and preservatives. I'm a very loyal customer to their bakery, especially for special occasions like birthdays. Their Chantilly cake is hands down the best cake I've ever tried, and it's what I always come back for when celebrating. The bakery alone keeps me coming back, and I always rely on them for cakes. I also love their bread. It does expire faster, but that's actually a good thing since it has minimal ingredients. I just pop it in the freezer and take it out when needed and it tastes exactly the same. The quality is great, and the bread is pretty affordable for how clean the ingredient list is. The ambience is great and honestly one of my favorite parts of shopping here. The store feels clean, calm, and enjoyable to walk through, which makes the experience better overall. Service can be okay. Most of the time it's fine, but occasionally the cashiers near the beverage area can come off a bit rude. It's not a huge issue and hasn't stopped me from shopping here. Yes, it can be expensive if you grab the wrong items, but the 365 brand is usually much more affordable and still great quality. Overall, I really love shopping here and keep coming back for the quality, bakery, and atmosphere.

There just is nothing so overwhelming that the price per pound should be as high as it is. Salad bar items are 11.99 a pound. Olive bar, I would expect to be higher but not 11.99 as well. I completely understand and it's very well known that because of its organic food selections and quality that Whole Foods does selectively market to a higher economic demographic that is less price sensitive. However, I am in that upper demographic and I'm getting distracted by getting a salad and some olives and walking out of the store with a $35 bill. At this price, I can just eat at a restaurant, and a decent one at that.

So we went and it indeed had everything. The longest line was for Grill City. In all honesty, I feel like Grill City is a bit overhyped. The kare kare didn't taste like my father-in-law's. He makes the best kare kare. But you can't beat home cooking. Too bad my FIL is in CA. The liempo was good, but how can you really mess up grilled pork belly? However, I did like Sizzle. Their bangus sisig on a grilled platter was so delicious! I was jealous of my husband's pick. I also really loved the items at Valerio. Reminds me of Panorama City in CA. Everything here was light and bright and it smelled clean. Would I come back? Only if I'm in town. Next time I'll bring a big cooler.

They have an in house chat corner with two tables tucked away which I wouldn't suggest. Its a place to sit down for a bit, while I do appreciate the idea, it felt like I was eating in the middle of a warehouse , I didn't like it and did not even enjoy the bhel I bought. It probably was good I cannot say, I was famished and was so glad to find that they had my favorite chats, but once I sat down I just gulped down and couldn't wait to escape towards the better side of the store.... I have been going to Keemat Grocers since 1988 when it was on Settler's Way and Hwy 6. I bought products for the upcoming Lakshmi puja, but I dropped the bag on the floor and it touched my feet. I wanted to exchange four items ( a coconut , paan, bel leaves, and 2 suparies), and this staff initially wouldn't exchange the items and said so rudely and said to just wash them. I told him no and he very rudely asked me to get the items. I was shocked with his rudeness as if I was trying to get things for free. I would appeal to Bengalis in Sugar Land not to support Keemat grocers unless they train their staff to be polite and cordial.
