Here, There, Everywhere! A friend suggested I should try Trader Joe's for my grocery needs, never been so let's go. Con: Not many convenient locations. I'm in the 77478 area code and the closest is 25 minutes no traffic. Pro: Very large vegan options of frozen dinners, already prepared meals and GMO options. Con: Not your everyday local grocery store items where you can 1 stop grocery shop, unless you're 100% all the way boogie. Pro: Quality selections at a low cost. Would I return? Only if I'm in the area and yes I would recommend.

Always stocked / organized and have all the trader Joe staples. My fave seaweed chips and scallion pancakes are right where I left them and the staff is friendly as always. It's always a sense of excitement to see what new finds they have to get addicted to and then find out it's seasonal. They play a good selection of grocery store hits.

Since it's Fall season, I've been going to Trader Joe's to try out their Fall items, as well as other items that I've enjoyed or really wanted to try. Here's the breakdown below of the items that I've tried: Lobster bisque (3.5/5): Creamy enough, nice seafood taste. But, there wasn't a lot of lobster pieces in it. Coffee Blast ice cream (4/5): great coffee flavor. Creamy. But, there was less coffee bean flecks in it than I remembered. So, that was a bummer. Cold Brew concentrate (2/5): the coffee was too acidic and not as aromatic as other coffees I've tried. It's very strong in caffeine content, though. Sparkling peach black tea (3/5): this was pretty good. It tasted like a non-alcoholic version of the fuzzy navel drink. Strawberry ice cream mochi balls (5/5): the ice cream had such a beautiful strawberry flavor and melded well with the soft, chewy mochi. Caramel apple ice cream mochi balls (2/5): I didn't enjoy this one. It tasted more like an apple jolly rancher with no caramel flavor. I would rather eat the strawberry mochi instead. Vegetable samosas (5/5): these little bad boys were fire! The veggie filling had a wonderful blend of spices in it. It had a slight kick to it as well. I liked the texture of the peas and potatoes inside. Definitely air fry these samosas for a beautiful crunch on the outside. Great value at 12 samosas for just $4! Pumpkin flavored Joe-Joe's (4/5): I don't know that I would label these as pumpkin flavored, but they did have a pleasant gingersnap flavored creme filling with a graham cracker flavored cookie. Pumpkin spiced Joe-Joe's (1/5): I didn't know they also had a pumpkin spiced version of this cookie with an outer yogurt coating to it. I didn't enjoy this one. The yogurt coating was too sweet and the cookie cream filling tasted too much of cinnamon. Chocolate lava cakes (5/5): If you love chocolate, this one's for you. Aromatic, moist chocolate cake with an intense chocolatey ganache sauce in the center. Chef's kiss. Peanut butter filled pretzels (4/5): Beautiful peanut butter filling with a nicely salty pretzel exterior. This is a satisfying snack when you're just feeling peckish. Dark chocolate peanut butter cups (5/5): Think of a Reese's peanut butter cup, but instead with an aromatic, slightly bitter dark chocolate outer coating. The dark chocolate and peanut butter were both intense in flavor. But, they stood up to each other to make this snack delicious. Dark chocolate espresso beans (5/5): Love the dark chocolate coating with the aromatic, roasted coffee beans. Be careful eating too many of these beans, as they're strong. Spanakopita (5/5): Wow. This was delicious! We air fried these bad boys, so the phyllo dough was crispy and fluffy. The spinach filling was flavorful with a slight tang from the feta cheese. Now, I've had spanakopita in the past and normally don't like it. I think the spinach filling in the TJ version is milder in flavor than other spanakopitas I've tried, which is probably why I like the TJ version so much. Korean style beef short ribs (galbi) (4/5): Nice beef flavor and galbi marinade, although a bit sweet. It does require thawing and cooking on a pan. What I really liked about this galbi was that you can get a pound of meat (and bones) for $13.99. I mean, you couldn't get this much meat from a Korean restaurant. There's about six long pieces of galbi in the bag, which was pretty generous. Serve this galbi with some steamed rice, and you've got a complete meal. Speculoos cookie butter (5/5): Bomb! I ate this on its own with a spoon, which is THE BEST way to eat this. The only way I can describe the flavor is that of a more aromatic, nutty, and creamy version of a graham cracker. It was so good! I did pair it with some butter cookies, but it tasted way better spread over toast to let the cookie butter shine. I read that this cookie butter can be made into a milkshake as well. I will have to experiment more with this cookie butter. It's definitely different and in its own category compared to your typical peanut butter or Nutella. Chili spiced, dried mango (3.5/5): this was fun to eat. This definitely had a hefty amount of spices coating the dried mangoes. So, it tasted salty, sour, sweet, and only slightly spicy. I'm not sure if it was all the spices or the mangoes themselves, but the mango flavor itself wasn't very prominent. I got more of a fruity taste, but not that of mango. Customer service overall is great here. They'll go out of their way to locate an item you're looking for, and they're friendly as well. Come and check TJ's out if you want to stock up on some fun snacks, especially their seasonal offerings.

Love exploring at Trader Joe's. The Westheiner location in Houston was very clean. The aisles were tidy. The products were fresh and well arranged. The layout of the store was easy to follow with product placement that made sense. Products that complement each other were located in nearby shelves or aisles. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We've been to this location over the years the employees are always nice, however on this particular HOT summer day my kids and I came in. One of the employees Will was stocking the ice cream and he noticed my 6 year old daughter looking so he told her to come over and look at the different flavor/options he had then he asked if she would like to try one before making a decision! So my daughter and I got to try one of the chocolate chip mini cones and we decided to buy them. Thanks Will!! Also they have great deals on their beauty/face selections. I always buy my face wash (tea tree oil) and eye serum from here!

I approve of these addictive organic elote corn chips!
    Ly N.

Was told about these elote chips I HAD TO TRY. She was adamant about how great they were that it somehow influenced me to immediately go buy them next day. I planned to go by the Westheimer + Voss location as I had no clue this one near Kirkwood even existed. Only stumbled upon this location as I was driving by and had to literally bust a U-turn. This particular location is not that big but it packed all of the items I was looking for and I walked away with a couple items I couldn't wait to try. If I had to recommend an additional item other than the elote chips, I would say the corn Chile tomato-less salsa! ITS DAMN GOOD. This store is super clean and organized. Checkout counters are spaced out and not crowded by crap. Had a great experience with the happy person that checked me out today.

Trader Joe's is just the best. Employees are so helpful and nice. I was looking for the watermelon sticks and a young man found the last too for me. Always top notch service. Tried the key lime popcorn this time too and almost didn't even get it! So glad that my favorite employee ever, Mark, recommended it! I'll be back for my next snack attack :)

I love how close this Trader Joe's is to where I live! It's so convenient!! Trader Joe's is good for quick microwave meals that are somewhat more healthier than most and come in a variety of different ethnic foods. Most are very tasty with good portion sizes. They have a good variety of organic fruits and vegetables that are very fresh, jellies, honeys, specialty spices, and frozen fruits, grains, meats and veggies. This is not, in my opinion, your one stop grocery store. This a place to get items that you can't find in your local grocery store. They also have a good selection of well-priced wines and beers! The staff here are very nice and personable! It is never too crowded or busy which I like!

The parking was a bit of a challenge, but it was easy enough because it was a calm Tuesday morning. To get from the parking area to the store, you just take the elevator one level down, and then you're right inside. This place is surprisingly big, filled with all kinds of snacks, cookies, and coffee. The highlight for me was their shawarma breakfast wrap. It was top-notch and exactly what I needed. You choose between whole wheat or white pita, and it's filled with scrambled eggs, your choice of fresh or sautéed spinach, and they add potatoes as well. Then they top it with shawarma chicken, tomato, and a delicious sauce. For $8.5 it was worth every bite. Hands down, a five out of five. I also tried their coffee, which was just a standard brew sitting in ice for hours and nothing special. At $2.50, it was fine, but nothing to write home about. The real stars were the cookies. I got a coconut pecan cookie and an almond crunch cookie, and both were absolutely delicious. I didn't have time to explore the whole store, but there was a great selection of fresh produce, chocolates, and all sorts of small treats. Overall, the staff were really friendly, and the entire visit was smooth. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area. Five out of five stars!

Now, something that never fails to annoy me: one of the entrance doors is always locked. Every time. So you're forced to walk around to the main entrance. Minor, but annoying. Thankfully, the elevators from the garage always work, so silver lining there if you park downstairs. Today I was reminded of another classic Randall's feature: the smell. I stopped in on my bike to grab some veggies and, like clockwork, was hit with that signature aroma, somewhere between a porta-potty and a city park at noon in July. I think it was coming from outside this time... but I've definitely caught a whiff inside before too. Is it overpriced? Yes. Is it so conveniently located that I keep coming back anyway? Also yes. To be fair, the prepared food section and the bread game are on point. If carbs are a love language, this place is fluent. Bonus points: they've added EV charging for our green-driving friends. Unfortunately there's only one in the city, but it's "centrally" located (get the pun?) off Westheimer and 610 near the Galleria. We frequent this grocery store a few times a month, and though the products are more expensive overall than your normal Kroger or HEB, the selection is amazing and worth the visit. Here's what I love about Central Market: the produce, salads, sandwiches, meats, seafood, wine, cereal, yogurts, bread, coffee, ice cream, spices - actually pretty much everything. Even their flowers are incredible. Now here are some pro tips; listen carefully: - if you want the real, full CM experience, go on a Saturday or Sunday. You'll feel like you're at Costco waiting in line for samples and trying to push your cart without running someone over. But if you want a quiet, peaceful experience, go on a weekday during the day. You have to work, you say? Take a few hours of vacation or personal time off and head to Central Market. It'll be better than your last few vacations. - they have an app and it's amazing! You can save 20-30% each shopping trip with their offers and coupons. Make sure you add the deals in your app before you go to check out. (This part is a little annoying.) - ice cream section: buy the Hellenika Ube coconut. Just do it. Taste it and you can thank me later. It will change your life. If you want to overpay for it, fly to Seattle and find it at Pike Place Market. - stop buying spices like peppercorn and coriander seeds in bulk that are stored in bottles and jars. Go to Central Market and just buy exactly what you need for your recipe. You'll spend 24 cents for this and 58 cents for that, etc. Not $5 for a jar of spices that will lose its flavor or expire after a year. And the big question everyone asks: Central Market or Whole Foods? Whole Foods has way more locations, but CM takes the cake. It's just amazing. Trust me.

As for the brisket sandwich, I thought it was good in terms of the meat, however, I must say it reminded me of sloppy joes too much. If I had to choose, I prefer getting the brisket sliced over chopped. As for the coleslaw, it was fresh and not too overwhelming with the mayo, which I love. The ratio of cabbages and carrots were evenly distributed. Lastly, the pecan pie was not too sweet and really soft yet crunchy. Overall, I would love to come here again, it was honestly one of the best!
