The second time, the fall was again because the floor was wet from a water drip while an employee was stacking food in the upright freezer. The fall was worse; my right leg became stiff, and I could not move. Asked the employee to call 911, who came and helped me walk to my car. HERE ARE SOME SAFETY SUGGESTIONS FOR THE CUSTOMERS. 1. Watch out for any dampness on the floor; alert the staff to mop the area. This store does not seem to have adequate staff to constantly monitor safety issues and take immediate "Corrective Action". If they do, they huddle around the office area. 2. Avoid baskets and use only shopping carts. The cart will provide support against any potential slips. Do not leave carts unattended. 3. Don't keep the upright freezer open too long. This will minimize condensation, maintain the require temprature range, and help food shelf life. You need to exercise your civic awareness. 4. Be very careful around the Produce Section. This is one area prone to having a wet floor. 5. Don't instinctively lift a fallen person unless he or she asks you to help. Let a professional Paramedic (911) handle it. 6. I will bring it to the attention of the City of Houston to request to carry out a diligent inspection.

They can also portion it out for you so it's easier to prepare when you go home. My husband loves the banh bao's that they have at the front. Their pickled daikon and carrots were good too! I've always experienced friendly service here, I've never been forced or felt pressured to buy anything here.

It reminded me Dynasty Supermarket before it closed. They both have resemblance from late 90's look and feel, just like the rest of this strip mall. I couldn't shop here because about 90% of packaging were in Vietnamese. It would take me days to translate with Google Translator app on things I might want. Couple of aisles were stacked with boxes. I considered myself skinny. But I couldn't even squeeze through them without knocking things off the shelves. That's a safety hazard. One corner of store has stacks of rice from Thailand, namely Jasmine rice. Lots of them in 25 lb sacks piled in the middle and smaller packages on the shelves. They seem to be fresher than Viet Hoa Supermarket. Another bad thing about doing here is the prices are marked. It could create a communication problem with cashier. I would come back if I can find someone speak same language to help me to translate.

They always have fresh snacks like vada, samosa, banana fry, and on weekends the variety of food and snacks is even bigger. It's also a great place to shop for fresh spices and South Indian ingredients. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and truly go above and beyond to serve customers. If you care more about authentic food than fancy ambience, this is the place. It can get busy and sometimes there's a little wait, but it's always worth it. I just got some apple bananas, curry puffs, a lassi, and samosa to go. Delicious! Good prices! Last time I got apple bananas, a spice, and a curry leaf plant. Also well priced. Everything is so well-organized and stocked adequately. They have a variety of goods from fresh produce to seafood to baked goods to household items to snacks. They focus more on Chinese specialty goods, but they have varieties of different cultural Asian goods, as well. If you want lamb or beef meat for hot pot, this is the best place to go. The lamb is so soft and not gamey, and it is also very reasonable priced for the amount you get. One whole box is quite dense and can last for multiple homemade hotpot/shabu sessions! I just really love how everything is so organized and clean. Their bakery also has some good stuff. My favorite is their bolo pork bun. The outside is sweet with a sweet custard crust top. It is essentially a pineapple bun filled with pork filling. I can literally eat five of them in a row. Last time we came, we cleared out all their pineapple pork buns! I also really like their produce. They have so many different produce, and it is fresh and reasonable priced. Their seafood area is also pretty well-kept and clean in a separate area. Welcome Food Center has become one of my go-to markets for hotpot meat, produce, and fresh seafood. They are very well-kept and have a lot of options!

Buns. Fruits. Veggies. So many snacks. Check out the seafood selection. Love the pomelos. Wish I had my kids at home for the jackfruit. Jackfruit rice is their favorite. I visited the Viet Hoa market last weekend and went to the fish stall. With a very unpleasant look on his face, he snapped, "Are you blind? Can't you see the price written down there?" After cleaning the fish, he scowled, slammed it onto the counter with a loud thud, and turned his back on me. I was truly shocked and terrified that day--the experience has haunted me ever since. I was a customer, yet he treated me worse than a dog begging for a bone. His attitude was insolent, surly, rude, and uncultured. (There was another woman working at the fish stall nearby who was much nicer.)
