Great grocery market, I shopped there for years, no price increase and very fresh meat. This will very difficult for me. Other stores put less meat in their packaging at a much higher price. They even had a Masjid in the back of the store and an organic food section. The cashiers were very courteous and friendly, this is no lie this is the truth! This store is a gem!!! If you love middle eastern / Indian cuisine please swing by. It's about a block away from my place and it's a treat. They have a hot foods bar where you can order things like samosas and tandoori chicken. They have most of the items a regular grocery store would have plus some "exotic" stuff. They have an amazing dairy & ice cream section. Some of the best ice cream you will ever find can be found in the store!!! I love saffron & pistachio ice cream. I love the variety of plain yogurt's and dips. They have a huuuuuuge spice selection and every time I swing by the employees are always helpful and friendly!!! People must know how disgusting I felt when my wife text me a picture of the raw chicken legs box, there was alive fly and moving in side the clear rap plastic that is over chicken tray. The meat deli workers are CHEATERS. They weigh the meat before they clean or even cut the bone. No other store will cheat a customer on this way. I was really holding back on writing this review as I was giving them a chance. When I initially moved here in 2012 they actually I had some good quality control and usually gave customers good product. However since recently moving back I am so disappointed in their quality especially in the last few months. Every time you buy produce from here it's either really really dirty or going bad. Their tomatoes and onions are usually rotting as well as their chilies. I have literally seen nice fresh produce one time, when there were people visiting in fancy suits. I'm guessing investors but other than that instance I have not had the luck of seeing that again. Also, their mixed goat usually has more bones than meat. The thing that really hit a cord was making my morning tea. I bought a gallon of milk to save time as I don't want to go into another grocery store. I usually don't buy from them. The date read September 19, I made sure to pick the latest one. If you know, when oil gets into your tea it kind of floats on top, and that's exactly what happened. I understand sometimes when milk dries on the top of the milk gallon and you pour it out there's like those little white pieces but that's fine however, there was oil on top of the tea I don't know what the hell is going on with it but I was absolutely disgusted and it definitely ruined my morning. Being doubtful I didn't think it was the milk so I made it a second time and again the same thing happened. Also, when I had open the milk there were white pieces on the top inside of the milk. Okay, I did stumble into this supermarket not knowing what to expect despite them having a large sign outside saying that they sell Indian/Pakistani, Middle Eastern and Asian goods (by the way, it's largely Indian/Pakistani - the other international cuisines are only barely represented). And it's also a seemingly popular market, with a large amount of highly stacked Indo-Pak goods throughout their many long aisles (I feel like I'm speaking Chinese now, reading the palm of your hands or the tea lines in the cup - whatever they are). It's such a large market that I have no doubt that it is one of Houston's larger market catering to this ethnic group. They also have a chaat / samosa station at one corner of the store, a jewelry store, an Islamic store, and even a prayer room for the Muslims who have the sudden need to pray to Mecca. Granted, it's the first supermarket I've been into that even have a prayer room - and I did find this odd. But regardless, it does lend itself a hand to authenticity, and the Hindu/Punjabi/Pakistani shoppers here seem pretty happy about it. read more

I go here if I'm in need of nuts like raw cashews or lentils as well as paneer, basmati rice, yoghurt, spices, and my other Indian food needs when that's on my menu. I only come here at night about an hour or so before they close, so I can only base my review on those visits. They still have a pretty good amount of people there despite the hour but there are no real issues with parking, other than how annoying when there may be some large trucks or even 18-wheelers taking up large portions of the parking lot. Most of the patrons here are of Indian/Pakistani ethnicities so I always get weird looks when I walk in, but not for long. I like their rice selection though it gets confusing with all the choices. Their frozen section is pretty good too. Like I said - I go for the paneer and desi yogurt. I also love their Jain friendly samosas (I'm vegetarian but don't eat onion and garlic so I go for the Jain foods) that they have in the freezers. Browsing through the rest of the aisles is always an adventure as well! I love Indian food but there is still a lot I haven't tried yet, mainly due to my dietary restrictions, so it's always interesting to encounter new things. Going through their spices and grains section by the produce is needed as well when it's time to refill my stock of those items. The thing is that they come in huge bags and then you have some small bottles/containers, but not much. The prices are pretty good and the selection is great. The only thing about this market is that I'm not sure the quality of their fresh produce is all that good. The prices tend to be good, but the quality isn't guaranteed, so I only buy it if the food looks good on that visit. The overall cleanliness is okay - nothing great. I don't have much experience with their staff other than when it's time to pay and they tend to be young students just doing their job, but they're fairly nice and I have no complaints on that end. All in all, despite the questionable quality of their fresh produce, I still return when I need some items for Indian food. I haven't had any problems with the food items I have purchased thus far, though. read more

Although they do say that they cater to middle eastern and Asian foods, they do not stock much of these items. For Mediterranean you can always try out Phoenicia speciality foods in westheimer, they are hands down the best in business catering only to middle eastern cuisine. and for chinese /south east asian as always hong kong super market in bellaire. What this place lacks in customer service and sufficiency of staff and organization. it makes up in variety and price. although most of the stuff seems to be sourced from pakistan and india, their prices are very competitive and infact atleast 1-2 dollars less than the market price. especially for lentils, pulses and meat This is essentially a warehouse cum meat shop, the emat shop is clean and tucked away in one corner. Normally World Food Warehouse is a wonderful place which gives us the good feelings of back home. Having said that,however, some ill feelings do generate of which i have filed a complaint with Mr.Ali who seems to be a fairly responsible person. First, regarding the weight machine in the meat section which is obscured to customers ! Should the weight procedures not b in front of the customers ??? Second, I wished Mr. Babur,again in the meat section, could be educated with some norms of customer service. He needs to be realized that he carries home his wages because of the customers who have the right to ask for what they want as they are paying and that they need to be replied politely and justly to satisfy them rather then trying to throw his weightless weight on the customers, least realizing such norms & practices could b accepted in Lahore back home but not acceptable here in Houston !! By the way this is not the first time with me its the second such occasion with me. Plus the way he dealt another customer in front of me who just wanted to see his full goat that he had ordered was denied saying that he would see it on his turn after thirty minutes !! May be this is a procedure but the way he said it was appalling !! Terrible !! If you are seeking advice or expect the item to be on the shelves then forget it. Produce is sub-standard but then some hard to find south Asian vegetables and fruits (generally seasonal) make the occasional appearance. During its early days, the place catered to a distinct crowd but the diversity is now very noticeable and proper attention is being paid to keeping up with diverse tastes. In keeping with the times, the frozen foods aisles doubled in number over recent years. When management parks its S550 in a clearly marked NO PARKING wall of the store, you can clearly level set your expectation about the mindset in action. "Take the products, pay the cheap price and get outta here!" is the motto. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I love that it's different and it's not your typical indo/pak market. Every time I come here I come across something new and different. They have a clothes/fashion jewelry stand inside, they have a small home goods section, there's a mini cafe. I don't know 85% of the goods they sell here but I guess that's the fun part. I try a new item each time I swing by. This place is a one stop shop where you can get everything for your pantry and kitchen but my main reason of driving one hour to this store is to get Organic Halal meat. Although the staff is well behaved, but my first actual customer service experience happened today when I checked my receipt on my way home and realized that I was charged twice for the chicken price. It did not seem right to drive 30 mins back to get a refund of $60.00. So I called the store and they gave me the number of their Accounts Department. I talked to the manager, Mr. Kinjal Chheda( KC) and told him the situation. He took my info for refund and my card was credited before I reached home. I was very impressed on the quick response. This is best Indian grocery store that i ever saw in houston Area with so many items available. i can call this place as Mini India. I love the variety, and quality of food this place has to offer. I come here every Sunday afternoon for my weekly grocery run. Saturday's and Sunday's are definitely the busiest time to come here. And the Best part of all is the Meat section. I've been to this store a few times before, and while the service has never been stellar, this past week was the worst. I went to the butcher, Rashid, to get some meat. I had an extremely simple request, and instead of saying yes or no, Rashid was SOO rude to me. He was extremely insulting and started yelling at me. I've never seen such a bad attitude, especially because I was not even being difficult. I will not come to world food warehouse anymore because of the people like Rashid that they hire.
