Whenever I'm nearby, I like stopping in to pick up vegetables and check out the large clearance section, where you can sometimes find some great deals. Like other 99 Ranch locations, this store has a huge variety of Asian groceries, including Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese snacks, sauces, seafood, produce, frozen foods, and pantry items. I usually frequent the 99 Ranch on I-10 and Bunker Hill, but this Westchase location has a very similar layout and selection. Inside, there's also a bakery with fresh buns and pastries, plus a small dining area where you can order combo plates with different meat and vegetable options. The shopping center itself is also convenient since it shares space with other popular businesses like Lady M and Paris Baguette. I also noticed a Daiso location coming soon, which should make this plaza even better for Asian shopping. Another nice feature is the rewards program. You can sign up with your phone number, scan your card during purchases, earn points, and redeem them for discounts later. Overall, this is a great one-stop shop for Asian groceries, snacks, and pastries in the Westchase area. I highly recommend it.

I have never had a sauce that tasted this absolutely atrocious, it tasted like hoisin sauce, mixed with drippings and sugar. this is the only 99 ranch that I've been to that has had flavors that were this bad and they should reevaluate whoever's in their kitchen.

This market is one for the largest Vietnamese markets I've ever been to, offering a wide variety of fresh fruits, frozen foods, dry goods, imported sauces, sweets and more. I particularly love their extensive rice paper selections. My favorite is the "no water" rice paper, which doesn't require dipping in water to roll up like traditional ones. Unfortunately, this type of rice paper is available at every asian market so I'm happy Tan Binh has them. They also have a nice section dedicated to ready-to-eat and hot foods. You can grab and go with options like fried fish, tofu, and cooked meats. Customer service is usually pretty friendly. Just like anywhere else, you should check the expiration date of every product before buying. My cousin forgot to do so and bought two boxes of solar dried bananas that were expired. And during the warmer seasons, they set up a nice plant and herb section for sale right outside the entrance.

The other store is called Chợ Thanh Bình Market at a connecting mall. By looking at the sign inside and the shopping bag. The address says 11698 Bellaire Blvd Suite 11700. The location is checked out ok. Comparing those 2, I like this one better. But not the best one in Asiatown. I wouldn't want to drive all this way for something. I normally hit up Viet Hoa Supermarket on the other side of Beltway. The store is clean enough. Aisles are not always clear. Stuff was all over the floor and blocking the aisles. The shopping carts were all over the parking lot. It's not about what the business did but the customers left the charts wherever they want. I just wish there is a collection point. I have major issue of language barrier with employees here. All signs are in Vietnamese. I had to use Google Translate app for everything. That's too much. I added one star because they have breadfruit. That's a rare item in Houston.

I was in Houston…read morefor the weekend and I asked my friend who was originally from Houston where a good Filipino spot would be to eat. He immediately said "Seafood City! It has everything!" So we went and it indeed had everything. The longest line was for Grill City. In all honesty, I feel like Grill City is a bit overhyped. The kare kare didn't taste like my father-in-law's. He makes the best kare kare. But you can't beat home cooking. Too bad my FIL is in CA. The liempo was good, but how can you really mess up grilled pork belly? However, I did like Sizzle. Their bangus sisig on a grilled platter was so delicious! I was jealous of my husband's pick. I also really loved the items at Valerio. Reminds me of Panorama City in CA. Everything here was light and bright and it smelled clean. Would I come back? Only if I'm in town. Next time I'll bring a big cooler.

The Pancit and fried pork belly were my favorites, and I really enjoyed the suka for dipping. They give you plenty of rice, perhaps too much lol After eating, I walked around the store and was impressed by the selection of Asian groceries, fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, and just about everything you might need, with a strong focus on Filipino brands. There's also a bakery and dessert section with halo-halo (always tempting), plus another vendor selling soups. The food court has a good amount of seating, though it can definitely get busy depending on the day. Overall, a great place to check out if you're looking for something you don't normally see. Glad to have this as part of the local Asian grocery scene alongside places like H Mart, 99 Ranch, and HK Market..
