When I arrived it was very busy, clean stocked with tons of spices and pastries. Right away I was asked by a gentleman if I needed help and was lead to the spices I needed and checked out. Whenever I'm nearby, I like stopping in to pick up vegetables and check out the large clearance section, where you can sometimes find some great deals. Like other 99 Ranch locations, this store has a huge variety of Asian groceries, including Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese snacks, sauces, seafood, produce, frozen foods, and pantry items. I usually frequent the 99 Ranch on I-10 and Bunker Hill, but this Westchase location has a very similar layout and selection. Inside, there's also a bakery with fresh buns and pastries, plus a small dining area where you can order combo plates with different meat and vegetable options. The shopping center itself is also convenient since it shares space with other popular businesses like Lady M and Paris Baguette. I also noticed a Daiso location coming soon, which should make this plaza even better for Asian shopping. Another nice feature is the rewards program. You can sign up with your phone number, scan your card during purchases, earn points, and redeem them for discounts later. Overall, this is a great one-stop shop for Asian groceries, snacks, and pastries in the Westchase area. I highly recommend it.

I was locked outside and another was locked inside trying to get out. We both stood there on opposite sides of the glass door in confusion until a short Hispanic male worker manually opened it from within. Tells me "No Mo" while shaking his head and waving his hands around to indicate they're closed. Showed him the time on my phone and he couldn't have cared less. Told him about the hours and uncovered he didn't speak a lick of English. I looked for security and none was nearby and clearly saw people still inside and some checking out. The next customer he let out, I walked right in and straight to the cashier while he kept saying, "EH NO MO!" I asked who the manager is and informed the pretty Spanish lady what he was doing. She confirmed store is still open and to go right ahead. I quickly grabbed my drinks and was checked out like everyone else. She apologized for his actions, and I thanked her for the great service. Was very disturbed by this encounter and odd how he's trying to shut store down before closing. I only spend 10 bucks but he's costing money to be lost from every customer he denies entry. I knew he was up to something shady, so I took his photo to warn others. I never had an issue with any 99 Ranch stores until that night. Really hope management will get on track to resolve this issue. Highly inappropriate to deny us entry during store hours just so he can bail early.

Just like anywhere else, you should check the expiration date of every product before buying. My cousin forgot to do so and bought two boxes of solar dried bananas that were expired. So we went and it indeed had everything. The longest line was for Grill City. In all honesty, I feel like Grill City is a bit overhyped. The kare kare didn't taste like my father-in-law's. He makes the best kare kare. But you can't beat home cooking. Too bad my FIL is in CA. The liempo was good, but how can you really mess up grilled pork belly? However, I did like Sizzle. Their bangus sisig on a grilled platter was so delicious! I was jealous of my husband's pick. I also really loved the items at Valerio. Reminds me of Panorama City in CA. Everything here was light and bright and it smelled clean. Would I come back? Only if I'm in town. Next time I'll bring a big cooler.
