The food court is a big bonus and something we look forward to every visit. With the live grill and multiple spots for comfort food, it's easy to eat before heading home. On top of that, shops seem to be renovating or popping up almost every month, so it feels like a new experience each time we visit. They also have fresh bakeries and desserts to take home, which is always tempting. Prices are great with a membership card, and every trip feels like a Costco-style stock-up run. Just remember to keep your grocery receipt handy since carts are checked at the exit.

So we went and it indeed had everything. The longest line was for Grill City. In all honesty, I feel like Grill City is a bit overhyped. The kare kare didn't taste like my father-in-law's. He makes the best kare kare. But you can't beat home cooking. Too bad my FIL is in CA. The liempo was good, but how can you really mess up grilled pork belly? However, I did like Sizzle. Their bangus sisig on a grilled platter was so delicious! I was jealous of my husband's pick. I also really loved the items at Valerio. Reminds me of Panorama City in CA. Everything here was light and bright and it smelled clean. Would I come back? Only if I'm in town. Next time I'll bring a big cooler.

When I asked an employee in the produce department where a scale was, he said, "No." I said that there HAD to be one as I needed a certain amount of white radish. He just stared back at me. The other employee next to him pointed to the far corner. Now, the "flank steak." As you can see from the picture, OVER half of the steak (blanched) is fat and membrane! It only comes packaged. I thought it had a thin membrane covering it, which would have been acceptable if it was over a long piece of steak. Didn't have time to go back. I arrived home at 6:30p and had to use it because the soup cooks for four hours and was being delivered tomorrow morning. (I hope that one star anise does not overpower the broth!) I should have had them unwrap it before purchase. Once, I bought a doong/joong/zongzi there that I unwrapped a few days later. It was moldy. When I returned it, no apology. Should have learned then to be aware. I will say that the cashier was friendly and smiled when she handed me the receipt.

The interior is extremely chaotic and messy; it is quite a large space but there are packing boxes everywhere and quite a few of the individually packaged items don't even have a price or sticker on them. Prices seem in line or cheaper than our local spots for a few items but in terms of organization and cleanliness, it doesn't seem to be the best. The seafood section here has quite a strong odor which is reminiscent of the early 2000's Asian grocery stores and there's a general dusty smell throughout. Overall, there's plenty of household items and fresh groceries here but you are missing all of the finer details as you would expect at a newer H Mart or Ranch.

I used to buy my months worth of groceries from here, but stopped and go a bit further, because I would rather pay for quality. I bought rice from them recently, only to find literal bugs crawling inside it. So I called the store and one of the ladies said to bring it back. When I bought it back, the salesperson was very nice about it. But another lady who works in the kitchen, Nadia, was extremely rude. She had the audacity to say it's not something we produce, I said I understand that and that she can at least exchange it with a same priced rice, so she said no we don't do that. The rice literally had bugs crawling all over it, and when washed even more light brown colored bugs show up. Imagine selling that type of nonsense. I have never been to a place such as this, the manager was not in, and she was just rude. Save your money and go somewhere else. There are 20 other grocery stores in this area.

This is no frills steam table/cafeteria style Vietnamese on the back of probably the largest Vietnamese grocery store in Houston and it is great. Pricing starts at $6.99 for rice and two entrees but goes up based on the rice/noodle type and the entrees selected. All of ours (3) were 8.99, but packed (the kids tapped out early) and delicious. I had this beef stew that you would otherwise only find at someone's grandma's house that was killer. Got some turnip cake on the side but everything looked good. It's not the most organized place, but if you take your time, you'll find what you need (and probably a few extras). Definitely a go-to for specialty items.
