Great food, good variety and good service. It's amazing to have a kosher grocery so close to home.

Welcome Food Center is an Asian market on Bellaire Blvd next to Tan Tan…read more Welcome has become one of my favorite Asian markers in Chinatown. Everything is so well-organized and stocked adequately. They have a variety of goods from fresh produce to seafood to baked goods to household items to snacks. They focus more on Chinese specialty goods, but they have varieties of different cultural Asian goods, as well. If you want lamb or beef meat for hot pot, this is the best place to go. The lamb is so soft and not gamey, and it is also very reasonable priced for the amount you get. One whole box is quite dense and can last for multiple homemade hotpot/shabu sessions! I just really love how everything is so organized and clean. Their bakery also has some good stuff. My favorite is their bolo pork bun. The outside is sweet with a sweet custard crust top. It is essentially a pineapple bun filled with pork filling. I can literally eat five of them in a row. Last time we came, we cleared out all their pineapple pork buns! I also really like their produce. They have so many different produce, and it is fresh and reasonable priced. Their seafood area is also pretty well-kept and clean in a separate area. Welcome Food Center has become one of my go-to markets for hotpot meat, produce, and fresh seafood. They are very well-kept and have a lot of options!

Do you love to explore grocery stores? I do!…read more Was in the neighborhood to pick up a Nian Gao sticky brown sugar rice cake for my brother and sister-in-law and decided to check out the Welcome Food Center. So many options. Noddles. Buns. Fruits. Veggies. So many snacks. Check out the seafood selection. Love the pomelos. Wish I had my kids at home for the jackfruit. Jackfruit rice is their favorite. Lots of parking available during the week. Went two days later and still parking was available on the weekend. Happy Chinese New Year! I'll be back.

I can't believe I've never written a review for Seiwa! I've been here numerous times over the…read moreyears, before and after Covid. There's ready made meals, sushi, sashimi, sides, snacks, sweets and drinks. For the chefs out there, they have premium quality meats and seafood too! Pretty much anything you'll need to complete a dish. The produce section may not be big, but it's satisfactory. On some occasions they'll have weekend pop-ups with tastings. The employees are helpful, and the store itself is clean. Something to be aware of, the line to checkout can be very long and hectic. Especially on weekends and during peak hours. If you're looking for a delightful Japanese meal, snack, or quality ingredients to whip up something magical, this is your place!

They still have a great selection of seafood, and I was also impressed by the variety of Japanese snacks. Since it was a weekday, the store was pretty quiet. There were also several promotional items near the front, and I was able to pick up a few candies at a good price. With tariffs and rising prices these days, everything seems to be getting more expensive, so I was especially happy to find a couple of good deals. I'd definitely swing by again if I'm in the area.
