This is my Hood's HEB and we like it. My wife and I are loved by this team. The free sample lady gets mad if she does not see us in a while. This is not the nicest or most complete HEB, but it is my HEB. These people treat us like family. read more

It's an alright H-E-B much smaller than the Stone Oak one off of 281. This H-E-B is better for when you're in the area needing to do quick shopping and such. Don't like that it's full of a lot of immigrants from Colombia, Venezuela and other countries that are yelling all over the place, it makes the shopping experience less enjoyable and the men from those countries will harass you if you're a female by saying obscenities when walking past you and staring you down, even following you in certain occasions. I feel like this H-E-B has gotten downhill and is becoming very ghetto. read more

This H‑E‑B is very small, but very clean, and customer service has always been good every time I go. This location is close to my job so it is a quick in and out for me. Prices are great like always. And they are always very well stocked on the food items I need. read more

This location does a good job at keeping everyone at a safe distance. They also seem a bit more pleasant to interact with. With that being said I know there is a lot of stress being put on the larger stores and I've witnessed a lot of employees getting treated pretty badly because they don't want to follow the rules. That could ruin anyone's day in the service industry. Just so grateful we have a safe place to purchase groceries and other necessities. read more

Small, neighborhood grocery store. HEB at West Ave and Blanco is in a weird location, where two major roads intersect at a strange angle, making a large, sweeping and treeless parking lot that extends on and on and on, but with a rather small building on the property. This store isn't as large as other HEBs. But it's been recently updated and remodeled with new coolers, wider aisles, and a new produce area, which is nice. Their beer selection left some to be desired. They have a single row of coolers, heavily leaning towards macro-brews. It's weird- when you buy Lone Star Beer, it's cheaper on a per beer basis to get an 18 pack than a case. What gives? Go figure! They had plenty of snacks and pre-made food. I was unable to locate the "clearance" section of the store. It's gotta be around here somewhere... read more

Oh no no. TALK ABOUT EXPIRED.I love Texas squeeze and saw they had a 3 for $5. So I got 3 of course. This was couple days ago and finally decided to drink one of them. Figured it tasted funny because I had just brush my teeth so I took another sip but I was like noooo that ain't it. Checked the expiration date and what do you know..it's expired IN MARCH. Just got off the phone with a manager but Honestly he seemed like he could care less. His first reaction was that I should bring it in with the receipt to get a refund and they'll take care of it. But I kept going on how I was wanting to let them know HEY, y'all are selling items that are wayyyy past expiration. Initially he didn't even ask me what brand or anything. Just to bring it in with a receipt which is long gone by now since washed and cleaned out my car. Anywho he then finally started asking about the product, what's the name, did you find it in the cold section or in one the aisle. Told him in the juice section aisle 4 to be exact and said ok. But again he didn't seem concerned At all that somehow that this item stayed on the shelf 8 months going bad. Fellow shoppers please make sure you double check the dates on this item if you're going to buy it that way you're not drinking nasty @ss what use to be Apple juice but now it taste like fermented I don't know what read more

This HEB is small, but it gets the job done! There is a nearby HEB that is much larger on NW Military Hwy called the Alon HEB and if you want a larger selection, I would go there. However, if you want to get your items and go i a hurry then this smaller HEB is key. The cashiers and employees at this location are as Texas friendly as they come and the selection of items is right on no matter what you need. This HEB has a Pharmacy, Bakery, Deli, and great parking, in addition to all the other aisles and departments offered by all HEB's. This one does not have a gas station, however. For that, there is an HEB right down the street on west Avenue and 410. This HEB has undergone a little makeover, so if you haven't been in a while, its time to visit. read more

I have lived around San Antonio for many years and have always shopped at the neighborhood HEB's. This location is one of my least favorites. Jackie was my cashier when I first shopped there and was extremely rude. She scoffed, rolled her eyes, ignored my questions, and did not say thank you. I complained to a manager and corporate and I never heard back from them. Aside from the customer service, this HEB lacks a lot of food others have. read more

I love my H E B grocery store. You can purchase just about any edible food item and beverages. The fruit is always fresh and beautifully displayed. The pharmacy area has many medical OTC items to choose from. read more

This used to my HEB a few years ago. Around that time it underwent some renovations and upgrades. It is set up better and can now offer more of everything. It is a not too big, not too small size store. Which makes it perfect if you need to get all your grocery shopping done or just need to pop in and grab a few things. I use this HEB in the mornings after I do laundry. The laundromat is across the street so I just walk over to shop for food, kill two birds with one stone. This place needs help and a lot of it. Every time I go there they always have spoiled fruit and salads on display. This morning I go over to pick some fresh apples and, of course, I see a bunch of spoiled apples right there front and center. I come from San Diego and I never had problem finding fresh fruit but in San Antonio it seems like a challenge. This HEB had lettuce that was obviously past it's prime but they still put it out anyway, it had a pink color to it...SERIOUSLY!!. I have to start shopping for a better HEB because this one sure ain't it. The employees are very good at ignoring you so don't even bother asking them for help finding something. Robots have better personalities. i was in one of the rows shopping for something and a good song came on and I was nodding my head to the music. I turned around and saw one of the clerks staring at me. It looked like she was about to tell me no fun was allowed on the premises. read more

This location is small, especially when you get to the checkout it felt overly cramped with the checkout lines overflowing. The main issue I have is that one of the items I bought was never bagged by the cashier and I didn't realize that the item was missing until I got home. It was a small item so I guess the cashier and/or bagger just tossed it to the side and lost it somewhere after scanning it, because it was on the reciept. Moreover, after I had checked out and started to move my cart to leave the store all the items in the bottom level of the cart (a few boxes) fell out onto the floor, and this was after the bagger had packed those items down there himself. It just feels like they do not take any proper care of handling items that customers purchased. read more

I have lived in this area the majority of my life and this use to be my HEB, but in the past few years it has gone down hill. Not only is the store dirty and the employees unhelpful, I cannot find what I need. Ever since they remodeled the store, I cannot find the simple stuff that I have been buy at this very location for years. Because of this my alternative is to go down the street to Walmart. I am all about shopping locally, and giving my money to Texas companies that support our community like HEB. I hate that a large corporation like Walmart is now my grocery store. HEB needs to step in this store and fix it before it is too late. read more

For my cashier Alexis, I don't understand why you were so friendly with the customer in line ahead of me but I didn't even get a hello. The only thing told to me was how much I saved when I was handed my receipt and not another word. This seems to be happening more and more often at your store. I experienced the WORST customer service here on Sunday 5/22/16, my local HEB I spend on average $500 a week at. I went early this morning to cash a check and the woman at Cust. Service took one look at it, and asked if it was a rebate check. I told her no, it was a payroll check I received for my freelance writing. She continued to inspect it, then said she would need a manager to approve it. I told her, it's just a paycheck, and said no, this is a paycheck and pulled one out of her drawer. I said, Really? Do all checks look exactly the same?? She ignored me and continued to call for a manager. I advised her that there was a number to Wells Fargo on the check she could call to verify, but she continued to ignore me and wait for the manager. After about 5 minutes, 'PAUL' finally got there. I tried to speak to him to explain what the check was, but HE ignored me, only whispering to the cashier as she pointed to this and that on the check. I finally said EXCUSE ME! loudly, and he put his finger up and said, "I'll be with you in a moment". After a few more minutes of whispering, he came up and advised he would not be able to cash my check. I asked why. He said because the address on my DL and the check didn't match. I said, Really??! Because I know for a FACT that is NOT an issue when it comes to cashing checks. He quickly dropped that baseless argument and just shrugged his shoulders and said he just couldn't. I told him, I am here in this H-E-B at least ONCE a day sometimes TWICE and I couldn't understand why he was refusing to cash my paycheck. He continued to avoid eye contact with me, shrug his shoulders and mumble under his breathe. I even told him, I know I'm being "that" customer and I'm sure that is why you aren't even going to cash my check NOW and he just smugly pushed my check back to me again. At this point, I was boiling mad and Yes, some curse words came out, but it was beyond ridiculous as to how he could not come up with ONE legitimate reason why they couldn't cash my check. So I left, went down the road to Walmart and the cashier there cashed it in the blink of an eye, even asking politely, "Is there anything else I can help you with today, Ms. de la Rosa?". It really wouldn't mean much I guess if this wasn't the SECOND time I go through this with this exact cashier at this exact HEB with this exact "MANAGER". I even asked him to speak with another manager, and he advised there was no one else but him. What a sad sad state of the HEB on Blanco and West if "PAUL" is the best manager they have in charge on a Sunday morning. For absolutely no reason they refused to cash a paycheck for a daily loyal customer with absolutely no reason to justify why. I know one person cannot make a difference to a corporation the size of H-E-B but I just wanted to vent my frustration at this total lack of respect for someone who helps ensure that location remains in business. I know it ain't much, but me and my money will be visiting Walmart from here on out. read more

this is a good heb... dont get me wrong, it could be alot better, but for what it is, it works just fine. has everything you really need and acouple of things you dont. sometimes they have nce sample days, where there are samples aplenty, especially sushi!! and it stays open til 1 am, which is a huge plus for those things you need in your life late at night. read more

Don't let the recently improved exterior fool you. This place is not what it used to be. There is an aisle dedicated to tortilla's but the larges bag of flour is by no means adequate. This HEB barely stocks anything, and if it stocks it, the item won't be in normal sizes or quantities. Save your time and shop at a different HEB. Don't waste your time like I have! read more
