I love heb but this location needs a little more attention i was in there yesterday and one of the packages of prepackaged sliced cheese was supper moldy and i came across way passed expired deli meats i just wanted them to be aware so it can be fixed read more

HEB is the best grocery store in texas. The veggies are fresh and the sushi is awesome.

They now have pita bread, but quit carrying the Fage Yogurt in the larger tubs. Why can't you make me happy Howard E. Butts?

I love this HEB. Not just because it is close, but they have just about anything you could ever want! Even an electronics department!! You can't go wrong with this HEB. Unless you want bean sprouts...they never have bean sprouts... read more

Had never been to a HEB before this store. Just relocated to Austin about a week ago. Must say this place is awesome. Very well organized and seemed clean. The prices on produce and meat are pretty darn low and stocked full and organized very efficiently, and the girl who helped us at the deli was ridiculously helpful on getting the meat the right thickness and letting us try samples etc. The guy at the meat counter was super helpful as well. This isn't the closest HEB to me, but this will be the one i frequent until i find a better one. read more

I enjoy going to this location better than the William Cannon/ I-35 location. It's much nicer, cleaner and bigger. And wow, they sell TVs here???? read more

I hated the old HEB. I would take a much longer bus trip to any other store then go to this particular one. I moved away from the Riverside area for a while, and upon returning to this area of town, I had high hopes for the new HEB Plus. Wow. I was so wrong. The food selection sucks. I don't think there is a nice way to put it. The shelves aren't stocked frequently enough, the produce & meat selection is pretty nasty and very underwhelming, and and why is there so much unnecessary crap being sold there? I would never by a TV from HEB - I just want food. Also-90% of the other customers are beyond rude, there are children running unattended all over the place, people just leave their carts in the middle of an aisle and walk away, or stand there talking blocking the entire aisle. I watched some lady yell at this poor guy in the deli section yesterday because he was waiting for the cheese slicer to complete her order and wasn't moving fast enough for her. Sorry lady - it's pretty impossible to use a machine that is already being used by someone else. Chill out. I will say the the staff at the check out lanes and deli counter have always been very friendly and polite. However, that is not enough to keep me coming here. I am going back to shopping at a different HEB, where I can actually find what I need, or heading to back to shopping in the '04 area. read more

I had to go here in fact that it was an HEB + and the regular hebs wouldn't carry a certain USB cord that I was needing. The parking lot like other reviewers say is a mess and is like a fast and the furious meltdown with burning rubber and moronic teenagers trying to impress everyone. on second note, the lot is covered in motor oil as it would be nice if they put some yellow mop slip caution signs around the parking lot. I would hate for a friendly Texan to sue HEB for getting hurt or injured while walking into the store! As I was checking out I really needed to go to the restroom and it's as bad or if not worse than the parking lot! The stench is awful and looks as if it hadn't been cleaned in 4 years! usually HEB is know as a very clean and respectable environment but if you're in the need to go to a plus store I recommend the one in Buda or Cedar Park at Lakeline. read more

I have to mentally prepare myself before going to this H.E.B. Parking is always an issue. I usually circle the parking lot for about 10-15 minutes before resorting to the parking spaces by the H.E.B gas station. And of course, a full parking lot means overcrowded store. Screaming kids, long check out lines, and we often leave the store without what we came for because the item(s) was/were sold out. Honestly, how can you run out of 2% milk? I try to shop at the H.E.B off of Congress. Even though their selection is smaller, their shelves are normally stocked well. read more

Very clean and organized, staff was amazing, they over charged me on an item. Made it all the way home and notice it. They apologized and was very helpful . read more

Managers here are comfortable hanging up on customers when they are unable to gain agreement. Despite being polite to him, the manager obstinately refused to hear what I had to say, and refused to tell the manager of a different store what price of said item was. HEB is no longer a customer oriented business. Enjoy the race to the bottom Butts. read more

I love H-E-B! The wide selection of fresh products, semi organized isles, helpful emplyees, and a wide variety of food...except this one. When you look up the defintion of mayhem, a picture of that guy from Allstate commercial shows up as well as this H-E-B. You would think this place is a mexican food market. Most of the people shopping here are Hispanic and that's all dandy and fine except when everyone brings their whole family to the store and lets their kids run around and people are just standing in the middle of the isle talking or texting and then get mad at you for going around them or saying excuse me. Look, I just need milk and eggs and have had a long day. The last thing I want to do is dodge people and fight for parking spots. The asian food selection is unbeleivably small. The only thing nice about htis place is it's decent car wash and the proximity of this location to my apartments. If you live around Riverside/E. Oltorf/S. Pleasent Valley, drive a few extra minutes to the H-E-B on S. Congress and W. Oltorf. read more

Never enough check out registers open and especially dying peak ours. Trying to find what you need is hard and asking for help if you can find someone. They're rude and either walk a way or acted like you bothering them. I don't think I'll be back to that one or I may start going to Walmart,Randall's or Fiesta and that's sad. P.S Let me here back from you if you. www.millerkenneth49@gmail.com read more

mmmmmmm...Aguas Frescas...Also there are always grackles inside on the celing rafters. Kinda like Texan bodega cats, but birds.

I love H-E-B in general but this one is always a disappointment. It's not a very nice facility, mainly because of its location and I never feel safe walking into the parking lot at night. I purchased sour cream on 03/20 and it is now 3/23 and I just noticed that it expired 03/16. I should have checked before I purchased it but H-E-B should be more cautious about selling expired perishables. Huge inconvenience! read more

This review is for the amazing employees working H-E-B's curbside. I had to call three times to add additional items to my order today. Different employees answered each time and ALL were extremely helpful!! I didn't feel like I was a bother and they went out of their way to get me what I needed. Good customer service is so hard to come by these days! You guys are awesome and I truly appreciate you all making my day a little easier! read more

This HEB absolutely sucks! My roommate and I stopped in to get like 5 things and spent over an hour inside. Besides the store being unorganized, it was so crowded it was a battle to get down any aisle. The customers there are rude and ticked off, the produce looks rotten and has little bugs flying around it, they didn't have any 2% milk (which was one of the 5 items we came to get so we had to settle for whole) and some hoodrat almost ran me over with her cart and when I politely said "excuse me" (even though SHE almost hit ME) she snarled at me and says in the rudest way "yes EXCUSE YOU". Really? This place also smells really bad and the parking lot is a nighmare. It's a legitimate place to get ran over, cussed out, or mugged by a crackhead. I've seen actual police officers doing the security here. If that isn't a big red flag I don't know what is. Then there was the cashiere that checked us out- he looked like he hated his life and his job and everything in general. This HEB is a LAST RESORT stop, like if it is almost closing time and it is the closest one . If you are ready to deal with crappy parking, screaming, wild, out of control kids, large crowds of rude people (and maybe they aren't TRYING TO BE RUDE, perhaps they too hate this HEB) then by all means, shop here. read more

Positively one of the WORST shopping experience I have ever had in my entire life. Today my girlfriend (who is preggo btw) was taken by security as we left and accused of stealing $8 worth of makeup. When I asked the security person where my GF was after they apprehended her, all she said was, "oh, you mean the shoplifter?" with a smirk to add. This was all before my GF was led out in handcuffs to the parking lot (procedure) in front of me and her son and released by REAL COPS. The only makeup that was found was makeup that can only be purchased at Target. And one half used compact purchased at HEB on Oltorf and Congress 3 weeks ago. In addition as I was waiting "Upper Management" came out because I was obviously upset by all this...these bozos were NON APOLOGETIC and even asked to see my receipt for the items I had. GOOD GOD. there's something definitely happening at HEB on Riverside and Pleasant Valley and it isn't courtesy, friendliness, empathy or solid management. Worst experience EVER. *Even the police offered assistance on where to go and who to speak to to file a report. We were told to not talk to HEB management because they would just accuse us of harassment if it went to court. No charges were filed and no apology made. Unbelievable. read more

the GIRL AT COSTOMER SERVICE was SO RUDE the "error with my money transfer" was a mistake on her end . they treated me like a criminal for having my wallet stolen ! Dont shop here read more

So this is the closest HEB to our house but seriously I'd rather drive across town, or go to Whole Foods cause there are flies everywhere on the produce, the avocados are always mush, the store disgusting, the staff can be helpless and HEB has started replacing better national brands with their underrated brand. The stores from area to area are so different and East Riverside gets all the crap! Arugula and produce goes bad fast, way before the expiration date, just coughed and spit up their thin sliced chicken as did my husband as they are throwing in some disgusting chewy portions that are totally gross. Really disgusting, and I would rather pay more and eat clean food from a clean store than buy this shit. Honestly HEB this is what you think of your residents on Riverside... give them all the leftover crap. Too many homeless people to fix the store up? The other day they were stocking the shelves and had the bread on the floor. I spend an average of $250 a week but no more. I rarely write reviews like this but it's a dangerous store with dangerous food. You have made enough money and become enough of a monopoly to put some money into this store and give a damn!!!! read more

Purchased hamburger which was pink and fresh on the outside, dark and grey on the inside. I spoke with meat man, he said " it turns dark when the air hits it" REALLY? I gave them another chance but turned out the same, dark meat wrapped with pink. No more meat from HEB. 2 stars for good stocking and pleasant employees. read more

Have only lived in the area a month. The cashiers do not bag groceries, I have to bag my own groceries as they stand and watch me. Whether I go in daylight or darkness there is always someone in the parking lot asking for money. They will only receive a lecture of getting a job from me. Traffic is hazardous in their parking lot. Selection is small for someone who does not eat Mexican food. I was told HEB is a Texas owned grocery chain, I guess they only want to serve one part of the Texas population. It is disappointing that management doesn't seem to want to improve customer service or safety in their parking lot. Sadly, I will have to travel a greater distance to buy my groceries. read more

The management here really needs some help. There was absolutely no manager at the registers to realize how busy it was. Every lane was open but no baggers. It's a shame that these cashiers are only paid so much then they have to deal with lazy folks who can't bag their on groceries. Sorry lazy folks, it's not the cashiers job. It's their bosses job, to staff accordingly. But unfortunately it looks like another case of the privilege getting by with whatever they want while the lil man (cashiers) get stuck with the bull. read more

This is one of the worse HEB in town! They do not have good costumer service, them when you you to the front to ask the just said sorry. Just because is in e riverside they donor take care of you ? read more

I usually have an ok experience with my previous trips. But today was really bad. Chicken was $1/pound, so I was hoping to buy some. Unfortunately, the cooler where they had the chicken (not the island cooler) but against the wall cooler was emitting 'very bad garbage smell'. I thought I stepped on something nasty. All the people who were swinging by the area had to cover their noses. I took the liberty of notifying the guy behind the meat counter. He did come over and smelled it for himself. Hopefully they've done something about it. I ended up not getting any chicken, afraid my family might get sick. Better safe than sorry. read more

I go here because it is cheap and has a good selection. However, do not expect a quick in-and-out to get one or two things. It will not happen. It is SEVERELY overcrowded and they do not hire enough people to man as many registers as needed. Usually there will be about 4-5 checkouts open, no matter how packed it is. I would go here to buy pretty much anything, but NOT BEAUTY PRODUCTS OR COSMETICS. I had a very bad experience here recently. First of all, the prices on their cosmetics are not a good value (you are better off going to Sally's across the street). They say that they raise the prices due to high incidents of shoplifting in that particular section, which I don't understand. It took me awhile to find everything that I wanted and the associate was not helpful at all when I asked her questions, yet she did make a point to stand there and breath down my neck the whole time. When I was done, I headed over to electronics to meet my boyfriend. I got to electronics, and turned around. The lady from cosmetics was standing RIGHT behind me, staring at me very intently and making me uncomfortable, to say the least. She had followed me, for no reason, I did not steal anything, and if she is trying to prevent theft, she did the wrong thing in leaving the cosmetics section to see where I went. \: On top of that, I went to purchase the items (1 lipstick and one concealer was 22 dollars total - on sale). When I opened them later, they had clearly been tampered with, and the lipstick was already used. read more

Worst HEB I have ever been in. I now travel to the S. Congress/W Oltorf location, even through it is way out of the way. The is a HEB plus store. It has less choices than most HEB's. They don't take advantage of the extra space. Horrible meat market with limited choices. Don't expect any premium steak cuts. They don't offer it. But the MAIN reason I stopped shopping there, the shelves are NEVER stocked. Every time I went, there was always things I had to substitute or not buy at all. If you are happy shopping there, good for you. I will never step foot in this location again. read more

Everyone on here is pretty spot on about the parking lot. I've had a couple of homelesscome ask me for money. Would suggest watching out for that. Lots of kids inside, and I'd recommend headphones. There is a gentleman by the name of David G., that for some reason likes to not scan an item or two every time I have him as my cashier..items like zip lock bags or if I get frebreeze he just doesn't scan it and puts it away. Sounds weird but this is the third time he has done this. I get home and know it was the last item I grabbed too! Anyway, just watch you items. Bakery is pretty good and produce isn't bad. read more

I love how when your in the business center line and its more than 15 people waiting to get help and there's on two employees working and a manager walks past behind the workers and looks at the line and walks away, without getting more help. So many employees that work here and they can only get two workers in the business center. read more

HEB is awesome! This one closes at midnight now, used to be open 24 hours. Large store, selection caters to the neighborhood- Hispanic and college students. Always busy, so be prepared to park across the lot. If you're looking for a larger health food selection and 24 hours, the red river store has both. HEB has the best prices in the area for groceries, though some ethnic and natural foods grocery stores are cheaper in their specialty area. Gave it four stars because it is no longer 24 hours, and I have to go to other stores to find some of the foods I eat. read more

i went to buy some lemons. i had noticed that the price and availability had been changing from week to week. this week there were only 2 choices: limes @ 5 for $1, and lemons @ .48 cents each. the bin for large lemons was EMPTY at 6:30AM (the large lemons were UNAVAILABLE), so there was ONLY ONE CHOICE OF LEMONS. i put 3 lemons from the .48 cent bin in a bag and went to the checkout. after i paid i looked at the ticket and was surprised to see that i had been charged for 2 x .48 cent lemons and one large lemon @.77 cents. i informed the cashier that the price ADVERTISED by HEB was .48 cents each and that all 3 were from the exact same bin. the cashier (@ checkout lane #11 on 0ct 30, 2019 6:40AM) told me i was wrong, and that because one lemon was bigger than the others, i must have taken it from another bin- meaning i was trying to defraud the store. so one, i am overcharged, two, i am accused of trying to steal, when in fact i was the one being ripped off, when all i did was take 3 lemons from the .48 cents bin and try and check out. it is false advertising on the part of the store to have a sign for .48 cents and then charge .77 cents. add to that the hideous customer service from the checkout troll, and you get a negative review. you happy with your employee HEB? because i am NOT. i hope they replace you with a ROBOT. read more

Horrible..absolutely horrible customer service...Goods Expired over 5 months!!! I have never had any cause to need a manager or had any customer service at this store but I had issues this Thursday night that required a manager. I had decided after working late over the spring break holiday all week that I would treat the kids and we would make some homemade pizza at the house. The usual would apply here...crust, Mozzarella Cheese, Pepperoni. I decided while picking up some lunch meat that I would try out some Boars head pepperoni as the lunch meat is always so good. I also decided to go top shelf and get some all natural pizza sauce from Italy. While I was on my way to check out I looked closer at the Boars head pepperoni was grey and moldy on the inside and looked really disgusting. I hustled back over to deli and got a replacement package and left the bad package in the cart to bring it HEB's attention. Me and the kids hustle home and put together our pizzas and got them into the oven. I picked up what was left of the pizza sauce and when to put it in the fridge only to discover it was rancid. Veeerrrrrryyyy Rancid smelling and dark I just didn't catch it being in a rush to get dinner together. I get back into the car...drive back to HEB go all the way to back of the store grab everything I had bought before and grab extra sauce to put in the cupboard as I usually have back up and discovered I had none. While standing in line I look down at the sauce just reading the package only to discover the container of sauce.....all 5 of them mind you...HAVE BEEN EXPIRED SINCE OCTOBER OF 2014. I walk back to the sauce isle look around everywhere only to discover no sauce on the shelf.... I notice on the very top of the shelf there are replacements for whatever they restock with at night. I move some stuff around and discover a new case of the sauce I purchased that is expired since OCTOBER 2014. All of the containers in the box are brand new and good till march of 2016. I grab five new ones and the ones I was in line to buy...and the stuff that was ruined and head back up front to talk to a manager. Mind you this is now more than an hour since the failed attempt to make pizza for kiddos. I ask for a manger from a yellow shirt employee 4 times she ask 4 times for what but I am not in the mood to elaborate to her...and then again to a manager. After explaining the whole thing to the manger he reluctantly offers to replace what I bought but not the sauce I was in line to buy.... to go home again... only to find out it was bad again.... and expired since OCTOBER OF 2014. Seriously... I almost burn up another hour... hungry kids at home.... or worse have them eat some rancid stuff on your shelves that should of been taking down 6 months ago... your best case solution to preserve the shallow level of customer service is to offer to replace only what I bought...not what I was in line to buy. The manager didn't even accept any blame but rather push it off to the side and say it must be a mistake by the distributor or manufacturer. The parting shot was as the manger scurried off to the furthest possible register...out of sight... He takes an additional 20 minutes to come back with the items and money. My time is worth more than this and this... and this not the way a manager...at least one that has any customer training at all...should have handled the situation. Just a.."I am very sorry for this is obviously and oversight by our stocking crew...we are going to get it corrected. I am sure you have wasted enough time with this tonight.. Please let me replace all the items you wasted on dinner and the sauce you nearly walked out of the store with a second time...try and have a good evening. Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention.. we take our customer service very serious and value our customers. "....NOOOOOTTTT...THHHEEE CASE. Tired of companies thinking I owe them my business.. I spend over $1000 a month on groceries and probably at least another $500 during football season. Which I mentioned to the manager and lady in the yellow... who both smugly looked at me and said... ok. Well... No problem.... Hasta Luego HEB.. I'm frig'n out. read more

Went to go cash my tax refund check becuase HEB advertises that you can cash a tax refund check up to $3000 for $3.00. When I got to check cashing services at HEB they said "oopps soory we can not do that becuase it is past May 1st" No where on there ad's, web site or posters even in the fine print does it say up until May 1st and this check that was far less than $3000 and I tried to cash on July 2. I called HEB customer service line and the woman on the phone just had a bunch of excuses like "HEB does not carry that kind of cash" which makes no sense when you offer a cash checking services!! Having a policy I understand and that is advertised is fine but having a customer service rep come up with bad excuse like "cashing a tax refund check after May is not normally" is just plain bad customer service. I had to go to Money Box and pay $20.00 and yes I am pissed but that is the price I paid to well go to Money Box. If HEB offers bank type service then please do what you advertise and train your customer service rep better to please, thank you. Whole Foods maybe pricy but a least they understand customer service. read more

This location is always dirty. I have had several issues with this store and finally I had the last straw and am traveling to Kyle HEB when I live in South Austin. I was over charged on my bill $85 for 4 lbs of chicken had to make an extra trip to get my money back only to waste $10 worth of gas and an hour of my time and I was reimbursed for the overcharge and was credited $4 for the chicken but it did not cover my gas nor time. Then I purchased Kale and it was full of worms. Then 2 packages of meat were bad and once again 30 minutes and extra gas on my time to get it exchanged. Then the lady (employee that does the samples) was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional I spend almost $1000 a month and not I had all 6 kids with me we were sampling the items and she threw an insulting comment to my face - I complained about her but do not know what transpired. Then 1 cashier was lacking customer service skills and was unhelpful and I had to get assistance from a manager. So after all this I travel to Kyle where is it cleaner, more customer friendly and they have bags and the produce looks fresher - the staff is accommodating and helpful SO ADIOS RIVERSIDE you lost my business and HEB Kyle you have my business.
