I like the variety of items, tacos, and the convenience. Check expiration dates! I've purchased expired tortillas and chips in the past. And get a receipt in case! Now I know to look for dates. Look at the moldy empanada in the photo. Those baked good have been there for a long time. :( Also, there is a lazy cashier. She was there on 2/15 and again this morning 2/1/19. The breakfast tacos are always packed and delicious. It was a little awkward the first time as we didn't see the sign to order at the cashier and then go to the counter. Nice new grocery/convenience store in the hood. Includes a meat market, produce/dairy area, bakery goods, and a good grill. Pretty good variety of coffees to boot. When they opened they had a killer deal for 3 carnitas tacos for only $3.99. These tacos are jammed pack traditional style. They have all the sauces you want as well. They have increase the price to $4.99, but it is a pretty good deal still. Breakfast tacos are$1.99 with many varieties. Service is friendly and location is always clean. FINALLY. We needed this here so badly. Finally something that only takes me 3 min to drive to and get pretty fresh vegetables. The only problems that I have is that I am predominantly an English speaker, and some things definitely get lost in translation around here. I am cool with it, it is even a little fun, but hard some times. They have specials sometimes and even clearance, which is neat, and a great deli/market thing that is pretty much a restaurant, which is awesome. I really like their breakfast tacos. Friendly people, large grocery selection for a convenience store; fresh fruits and vegetables, a carnicería, tortillas and pan dulce brought in from San Antonio (!!!!), 2 walls containing tons of spices (especially those used Mexico and further south)m, a good beer and wine selection, two different restaurants running during the day (a taqueria) and evenings (a burger joint), ...the list goes on here. Moreover, the gorditas at the taqueria are legit. So much to say about this store but I go here just as much as I go to HEB. read more

This place is a GODSEND for those of us who live in the McKinney Heights area. Before, the only thing even remotely near is a Texaco - now located almost directly across the street. For the better part of a year (though it felt much, much longer than that) we watched this thing being built and wondered what it would be like inside. The answer? AWESOME. This Shell completely eliminates the need to ever go to the Texaco. Featuring a little bit of everything, this Shell Market it perfect for when you need just a few things (sugar, milk, eggs, tortillas, that kind of thing) and don't want to go all the way to an HEB to get. Seriously, I have found myself needing everything from cooking oil (they have it) to fresh vegetables (relatively fresh, depending on when you go) to getting my check cashed (which they can do) to wanting breakfast tacos (they can do, but only before 11) to wanting ice cream (which they carry not only the standard Blue Bell but also a wide assortment of Ben & Jerry's! Incredible for such a store). If I were to inclined, I could grab a beer from their BEER CAVE. My only knock on it (besides the breakfast tacos - I want those things for dinner) is that they'll first address you in Spanish. English is not the norm here, so come prepared for a possible language barrier. However, it has not been a big issue for me in the past and I visit almost every other day. read more

We live in the neighborhood a stopped by for tacos. Bad idea! I think they were al pastor or barbacoa. We ordered both and couldn't tell the difference when we checked them at home. They were missing at least one thing like cilantro, onion or lime wedge. Even if they added all that, the meat was not good at all. We are just gonna stick to La Moreliana on William Cannon. Their agua fresca at the self serve was watered down and tasted more like slightly carbonated fruit juice. Don't fall for that one like I did. The grocery side of the store is pretty good, a little expensive but very convenient. They have a decent selection of everything. Cashiers are always nice and quick to check you out. A little bonus tip, if you use your credit card to earn points on groceries, this store qualifies for that. read more

Great place to stop in and out. Gas is not too much higher than other gas stations. They could do better on their produce, sometimes the produce is a little older than desired. The taco place in the store is good too but its only open until 2pm so that's a bummer. read more

This place is a life saver. So many days and nights I get the craving for some tacos and this place is right around the corner of my house. Expect a higher price that your regular HEB or Walmart, but it is very convenient (as it is called a convenient store). Wife's pregnancy cravings gets fix with tacos, ice cream, and powdered donuts. I have shopped here many times. Today I was charged for 4 items when I only had 3. Luckily I caught it in time and her remove it. This isn't the first time that this has happened here. The employee was angry when I caught the mistake and tried to make it out like it was my fault in the first place. Getting sick of it and won't be shopping here anymore. Best breakfast tacos I've had. Also one of the top burgers I've had in Austin. I get the breakfast tacos with corn tortillas, mexican eggs, mexican potato, and a small amount of refried beans. The tortillas are amazing because they flash fry them to get them just the right amount of crispy, so you aren't biting into crumbly moist (yes I used moist) masa like EVERY OTHER TACO PLACE in Austin. All for $1.99. I've seen them make their salsa in a blender, this place is legit. The burger is amazing too, I suspect they grind their own chuck. The only thing you have to do, especially if you don't speak Spanish, is REALLY make it clear what you want. Otherwise they kind of do whatever. I recommend the burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, jalepenos, and mayo. Don't get the fries. This place really doesn't understand how to do fries. read more

I've never had any issues here. Love having this corner store near home when I need just a few ingredients and I'm not due for a grocery store shopping visit. I speak Spanish but the employees usually talk to me in English. I mention this because I read someone say that you have to brush up on your Spanish. Sure it's nice if you know Spanish, but not a necessity. I see a diverse group of people come in and out of this store and I love it. No complaints other than I noticed when we first moved here summer of 2014. The meat section was very slow but probably due to not having regular employees. I've gone to buy meat here versus buying at the grocery store and i have had no complaints. I liked that they informed me of their upcoming advertised sales for chicken on certain days of the week. The employees at the register are always friendly and I like that if they start getting a line they will open both registers sometimes they'll have 3 people up there which is nice because it's never a super long wait.
