I'm tired of both HEBs allowing people to bring in their pets that are NOT service animals. Twice now, once at Andrew's Hwy location and now at the Wadley location I have encountered customers bringing in their pets posing as service animals. I am aware of the qualifications a service animal has to meet as I have had to contemplate using one myself. A service animal can not be placed in a shopping cart or buggie, it has to walk on a leash, it cannot be held it has to be on a leash. I was rudely spoken to by a HEB representative who said they don't have to ask for credentials of a service animal. B. $hT! Anyone who has an official service animal will be glad to show you their credentials as long as the inquiring party isn't offensive. I'm tired of HEB allowing people to bring their pets in. Do you feel it's ok to have animals in the produce section of a store, I don't and I'm tired of people bending the rules. If it's too hot or too cold to leave your animal in your vehicle, take it home and not inside the store! I do have other choices as far as shopping, but I may need to contact the Health Department and have a little visit with them. Do better HEB! read more

First time in Midland, TX and the locals recommended this BBQ place attaches to this grocery store. HOLY SHIT. It's damned good. I haven't written a review in a while and I travel a lot and eat at a lot of places but this place deserves a write up and a good one. Brisket, Ribs, Mac n Cheese were fantastic. I lived in Texas for 7 years while my husband was in the army and when he got out he said he wanted to live in SA where he was born. I loved every second of HEB in SA. So when I came to Midland to see my sister who moved here with her babies I wanted to show my dad how wonderful HEB is. Great shopping experience, found everything that we wanted, but our cashier was so rude. I've never had a bad time at HEB until today. It made me never want to go back. HEB is like Disneyland in Texas. The store is so amazing and people are so friendly. But she was not. My dad tried to make friendly conversation and was shut down. And then she didn't even make eye contact as she handed the receipt. It felt like why am I shopping here if I'm not wanted here. I'll go somewhere else next time. Maybe I came at the wrong time on the wrong day but I was not a huge fan of this H-E-B. My first and only visit was on a Sunday afternoon. It was so dang crowded I nearly lost my mind. From practically all the parking spots taken, to either being in someone's way or someone being in my way, to emptied shelves, to long checkout lines... No thank you. I think because it's so big and so hectic, I didn't have any interaction with any employees. Even if I needed help, I never even really saw any. So I can't even comment on how the staff is. Prices are HIGH. I mean, for example, a bag of Dole coleslaw was $2.49 here... same exact brand and size at Albertsons was$1.69. That's a HUGE difference!!! The positives: I did like how new and modern the store was. It kind of reminded me of my beloved Wegmans from up north. I also liked the carts. Anyone with multiple kids knows that double-rider carts are CLUTCH! There are also cup holders, a PHONE HOLDER and a shelf for fragile items. Neat-o! I do like the in-store coupons. I like the option of curbside pick-up BUT I don't like that the service isn't free all the time. Sat-Monday they charge $4.99. Lastly, I did like that they have gas which is a few cents cheaper than other places. Unfortunately I don't know if I'll be back any time soon. After leaving empty-handed because they were out of 3/4 items I came in for, I decided to go to Albertsons... where there were only like 5 cars in the parking lot. Personally, I get anxiety in crowds and I will give up the bells, whistles and fancy modern surroundings to not have half of Midland suffocating me in the grocery store. My tip: avoid coming here on a Sunday afternoon! read more

Had their chopped brisket SW. way too spicy, loaded with black & white pepper, cannot see the meat as it's doused in dark sauce??? When HEB first started you could see the meat now it's mixed & cannot tell what it is. Suggest go elsewhere. Plus service at front counter way too slow & their soft drink machine never working. read more

Beautiful store. Would rate higher if they were abiding Governor Abbott's state mask mandate. Saturday morning and half the customers don't even pretend to wear masks walking in. Really makes you wonder about that fresh produce department. read more

This place is awesome. How anybody could not recommend at minimum 4 star is baffling to me. This store is clean, stocked full of great food. Staff is all over to help answer questions. If I had to complain about something it would be them not having enough registers open during peak hours. They get hammered at times and there will be 5-10 people each checkout line. read more

Great prices, great staff and plenty of options! Open until 1 AM, yelp shows 12am close but it's wrong. I asked Simon the security guard if they had any to go silverware and he quickly went and checked but the BBQ place was already closed so he apologized. Oh HEB, how you need to invade North Dallas. Beautiful, relatively new HEB. Huge store. All the usual HEB trappings - great selection, great prices, lots of local (Texas) products, nice setup out front with plants and pots... you know the drill, unless you're a rare HEB virgin. If that's the case, you need to check this place out! Nice staff, too. One gentleman was happy to get more of an item from the back that was out on the shelves. Our checker was super sweet to our son, being goofy to him and offering him a sticker and HEBuddy bucks (or whatever they're called). Man, HEB is like grocery heaven, I swear. Grocery mecca. When, oh when, will you grace DFW with your presence? Whenever I'm visiting a town with an HEB, I make it a point to go, even if I don't need anything... because I will find plenty of things I NEED and can't live without. Normally a great place to shop. But avoid the pre made salads. Picked up 2 today and was very disappointed. Inedible due to the absolutely horrible greens. They need to rotate these for more often or just quit selling them. Absolutely the worst purchase I've ever made there. read more

I've visited nearly every HEB in the Midland-Odessa area and this is my favorite. Although it can get crowded at times, it's very spacious and I've never had trouble finding parking or having to wait excessively in line. You can also plan your grocery shopping ahead of time on their website and find the aisles where everything you wanted before you come to expedite your shopping; I often do this and I've only rarely unable to find anything in the store that was listed on their website. However, if you come here to fill your water jugs from the vending machine, there's a much higher chance of it being down compared to the other HEB in Midland since they only have a single machine. read more

I use HEB curbside a couple times a week and always have great customer service. Usually if I make my order in the morning there are available time slots to pick up in the early afternoon. I've never had problems with missing items and they are always good about checking if the substitutions they picked are okay. I still go in occasionally if I just need 1 or 2 things but curbside generally saves me from a crazy shopping experience with my toddlers. read more

I just added up how much I've spent at H-E-B over the past 4 years and it was 40,000. Today I 02/03/19 I went to shop for food at the Midland location 5407 Andrews Highway. I've been to H-E-B so often I feel like a part of the family. I make conversation with people. I talk to the workers. I complement them. I ask them how work is going. I tell them they are doing a good job. I know half the workers by name. I am a member of this community. I'm short handed at my business so I though while I shopped I would ask people to spread the word to there friends and family members that we are looking for labor workers(completely different than what H-E-B employees do at work). As I shopped and had questions I told a few workers. I get approached by Khalil Salem(head of security). He made me feel like a criminal. He puffed his chest out and got uncomfortably close to me and said he's gotten reports of me trying to steal H-E-B employees away to my business. I told him that's not true I just asked them to spread the word to there friends and family. I told him I wouldn't do it and tried walking away because he was making me feel uncomfortable. After I tried walking away to pay for the 100.00 worth of groceries I had. He stood in front of me.l and stopped me. He kicked me out. He imposed his will on me. His assertiveness was uncalled for. He talked down on me. He made me feel unimportant. He made me feel like a criminal. His punishment did not fit the crime. I was embarrassed l. Apparently I broke an H-E-B rule. I am sorry for that. I won't do it again. But you know lost a customer because of the way it was handled. I'm not looking for an apology or to get anything. I am a business owner and for what it's worth I think you should know how your customers are getting treated. When I was being walked out I asked to speak to the store manager. Khalil complied and brought me to Andrew-2 yrs. I explained to Andrew what happened. He told me he appreciates me as a customer but told me I'm kicked out. ????? "He appreciates me as a customer but leave". I asked for everyone's names. Even though everyone was wearing name tags for customers to see Andrew said he is not allowed to tell me people names??? Did he not tell me because he knew in his heart he was handling this wrong? Everyone had name tags on. It didn't make sense. I was separated from them so I couldn't read them. As I was talking Khalil told me not to talk and that he is going to call Midland PD on me. I looked at Andrew and asked him if it's okay to talk to customers like that. He shrugged his shoulders like saying oh well. I called them both jerks and walked away. I did not get physical, I did not threaten anyone, I did not invade anyone's space. I did not yell. I was calm. I was just trying to be heard but it was a different opinion than Khalil and Andrew. I have never been so embarrassed in my life. I am a practicing Christian, a father of 4 kids, a husband, a business owner, I donate to charities... This was handled all wrong. If the approach was, "don't do that again" I would have complied and not done it again. I did not know of this rule. There was no warning. I am not a repeat offender. This is the first time I have ever done that. In my head I was going about my day shopping for groceries and being a people person as I am. My family is growing. My wife is pregnant with our fifth child and I am going to be spending more money than before on food, diapers , etc. I think H-E-B has good intentions this message is intended to help you guys run your business better. This HEB is legendary. Coming from Houston, I had fairly low expectations for the food scene in Midland. My expectations were appropriate, but that's where HEB came in to save the day. Praise god for this monstrous store that is a testament to how amazing HEB is. I'm not a big fan of a lot of over hyped Texan things like whataburger or blue bell, but HEB is God's gift to Texas. This is literally the biggest and best store I've yet to see; they have everything, and a killer produce and meat section that includes dry aged beef. Always a 5/5. read more

I have used the curdside pick up 3 times. The first time it was outstanding. The last 2 times. Not so much. They dont let me know if the item isnt in, or if they substitute, its a surprise every time i unpack. I ask for double bagging because they cram everything into the bags and they break as im carrying them it. That request falls on deaf ears. Today i ordered 48oz of meat and was given 16 oz. Thank god i discovered it before i left the store. When i asked the employee to get me the correct quanity she gave the dear in the headlight look. She could not calculate the difference between 16 and 48 to give me the correct quanity. read more

This is definitely my favorite grocery store in town. This one has a different vibe than the older HEB. It's so much cheaper than Albertsons and Walmart. Plus they always have good deals with their coupons as well! HEB staff is always friendly and helpful. They recently moved things around so it's hard to find things when you're used to the old layout, but staff makes sure they help customers. read more

I'm reviewing the grocery delivery service. This is yet another weekend that my order was delivered late. What is worse this time is that my order was delivered incomplete. NONE of my frozen items in my order were delivered. NONE. What makes it worse is when I was emailed my final receipt, it was for the full amount including the frozen items I did not receive. So this HEB is essentially stealing from me. When I called to get the issue resolved I was told I'd have to wait an hour to be able to speak to someone capable of resolving the issue - and was then hung up on. You just lost a customer. From now on my shopping will be at Central Market, Albertsons, or Walmart. read more

I've tried the heb to you website. That's when you can order online and pick up at the curbside location. Everything was fine when I arrived and they seem pretty efficient, but they wouldn't fullfil my entire order and exchange items when I specifically asked them not to. They also didn't refund me for the things I didn't received. I don't plan to use this service never again. read more

Great store here in Midland. Selection is great. The floral shop is wonderful. Lots of oilfield folks here because it is well stocked. Lots of smiling team member faces here. The price is not bad but because of all the traffic I bet that is why most things are higher than Dallas. Lots of fresh produce here and a large section of the store. The gas price at the pump is great also. Can get really busy late in the day. The restrooms are clean and nice. Did not check out the wine selection, that will be another day. Lots of oilfield and they help the economy, they are shopping here and the money they spend locally goes around average 9 times in local shops. Clean store and they keep the shopping carts out of the parking lot. Management is well engaged to keep this place organized , clean & stocked. read more

This review is for the Andrews Highway Location in Midland, TX. I initially sent this directly to their H-E-B corporate office via their website and it got kicked back a couple of times with a message to my e-mail that their mailbox was full. This, I'm putting on Yelp. I believe my shopping trip to this H-E-B TODAY WILL BE MY LAST. I frequent this store several times a week. Every time I come in this is what I deal with. 1. When help is needed at the meat or fish counter I wait a minimum of 5 minutes for anyone to help me; however, there are always several employees filling up the shelves with meats and fish. Anyone waiting for service comes last. One time 3 'manager-types' were standing in a circle talking and not one took note that there were people waiting for someone to come help. They offered no help until we all started to walk away. The cheese and deli meat area is the same way. When customers are waiting to be served there will be 3 employees busily slicing and packaging cheese to go in their display case. Employees at this store are hard working but their focus should be on the waiting customer first. 2. You HAVE GOT to start stocking your shelves either late at night or early morning prior to opening. Stockers are ALWAYS in the way. 3. Today, Monday before Thanksgiving, was so bad I will not be coming back to this store. I had to go to Market Street to get BASIC items, that everyone should have not only on a daily basis but most definitely during Thanksgiving. No fresh thyme, rosemary or sage. HELLO! These are standard herbs for the holiday and you don't have any. A kind gentleman spent 5 minutes looking for some in back to no avail. Then, no turkey necks. Was told you normally carried them for Thanksgiving but you didn't have any in stock. 4. Was in the store yesterday to buy a particular brand of OJ (H-E-B brand actually). The orange juice racks were all but empty. Noticed today still not one carton of OJ had been stocked on the racks. Still empty. 5. This last instance I will share is regarding your curbside "shoppers" in the store with their ginormous racks that prohibit real shoppers to maneuver through your store. I was standing in front of the butter getting ready to select a pound of butter and a Curbside shopper actually came around my right side, stepped (literally) in front of me, said "excuse me" and grabbed 2 or 3 boxes of butter. When I say stepped in front of me there was approximately 10" between me and the display case and she still stepped right in front of me. Throughout my shopping time today I heard numerous comments about the stocking carts and flats being in the way of getting to products on the shelves as well as being out of items that are normally stocked in the store. Thank you for providing me the time to share my frustrations with you and I hope you are able to resolve some of these issues. This HEB is probably one of the cleanest ones I've been to. They even have a BBQ little food joint inside the store if you are hungry. I like the layout of the store. I went early morning on my way to work to grab something really quick and when i was walking towards the check out line the gentleman greeted me and escorted me to his open register. read more

Good food selection and great prices. Their store brand is top notch. The employees have been proven to be mostly rude and abrasive. I always try and bag my own or have my husband do it because half the time not all my groceries make it home in one piece or at all. They insist and telling you what line to stand in when I'd rather be checked out by a checker that hasn't burned me in the past with either checking out or being straight up rude.
