Thee best grocery store on my list! I actually have a decent roster AtL to the true MIdWest. I like the variety of the grass fed meat & poultry, the cleanliness of the stores & the knowledgeable employees. I also ofc like the sales which the prices are fair always & it's not crowded of bandwagon health hunters. So it doesn't come off a a performance. The salespeople are also friendly so that's a plus as well. Allin all I will be back whenever I'm road-trippin the area again. read more

This is one of my favorite stores in Midland, I love their products, the roasted pumpkin seeds, the Dalmatia fig spread is my favorite! Also, I love the beauty and health department, they have a great variety of vitamins, everything natural, I recently bought the Avalon volumizing shampoo, and I'm loving it, also they sell an amazing Himalayan toothpaste, cinnamon is my favorite, I highly recommend to visit the store, the employees are very friendly and helpful! read more

Came in looking for an item I used to get at Whole Foods which I have been unable to locate in Midland... unfortunately, I did not find it here either. The store carries products from the same brand so *maybe, just maybe* I can get them to order this particular product for me??? Other than that disappointment, I was impressed with the rest of their selection. I have been wanting to find some nondairy cheeses (dang lactose intolerance) and discovered a pretty good variety here! The main downside of Natural Grocers (and pretty much ANY "health food store" is the PRICE. Gosh! How is it so expensive to eat REAL, HEALTHY, NATURAL FOODS?!?! Luckily, they have sales! The sale prices make it more manageable to shop here. For instance, the nondairy cheese I mentioned earlier is usually $4.49/8oz package, I missed a sale on it for $2.99/8oz package. (Their website listed a sale that ran through Sept. 1st) having never actually tried non dairy cheese, I was nervous to spend that much on something that *might* be gross... so I kind of would want to wait for another sale. I did buy some non dairy sour cream for $3.19... and it was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! Didn't taste anything like sour cream. Wonder why they could actually call it sour cream??? Blah! Love this store! We shop here often. Only downside is one of the cashiers CONSTANTLY is negative and talks politics every single time we go into the store. Everyone has their own views but no one wants to hear that all the time. We are there to shop for our families and not there to hear someone complain about politics. Even our 15 year old has pointed out how negative she is. Sad! The store would really do better without Karin there. read more

I don't write a lot of reviews on Yelp but I thought I would for this place. I visited today and am glad I finally did. There aren't a lot of options for health food stores in West Texas and after visiting here it's the best one I have found yet and the only one worth going to in Midland/Odessa. Pros: 1) Employees Are Super Helpful: I think they had 7 employees working the afternoon I was there and out of them, 6 of them asked me how I was doing, if I needed any help finding anything and gave me a genuine smile. Pretty rare for this area, not to mention unheard of for places like Wal-Mart or HEB. Seriously, they staff was Exceptional!!!!! 2) Small store but contains many different products: They cover just about everything you could want from vegan cheese and meats, health and beauty to chocolates and sweets. The layout is easy to move around in and find things as well. 3) Prices: not the cheapest but not over the top in anyway either. In general you can do well here as long as you don't buy lots of the prepacked stuff (ie: vegan frozen pizza etc) Cons: 1) No Bags: bring your own because they do not have any for free but they do offer boxes at the front of the cash registers for free to use and sell reusable bags. I'm ok with that but if it's your first time going there, bring some bags with you or at worse if you forget, just fill up your cart, put everything back into the cart and haul it out to your car. Once you get home, you can get a few bags to carry everything into your home. 2) Lack of Bulk Goods: they have bulk goods (and a good selection at that) but they are all prepackaged already. Again I don't mind that but I'd like to see some things not in this format. It's just to easy to not to and I'd buy and try more new things if they did. I don't always want 1-2lbs of something when trying something new or making a special dish. 3) Larger Produce Section: while the produce was stocked well with many different things, I think the section needs to be at least double of what it is. It's one of the biggest draws for the store and it's chocolate stand is 3/4 the size of the produce section. Love chocolate but lets be honest, it's the produce that gets people into the store. read more

I moved here directly from Austin. I experienced serious Whole Foods withdrawals. While this cannot be compared to the flagship Whole Foods I frequented, it is totally acceptable and MUCH better than HEB. Pros: all organic produce and people are helpful. Good options for the vegan and vegetarian folks. Easily the best health food store option in town. Cons: they are not very good at keeping their inventory stocked. It is actually a very frequent problem for the things I am looking for. Their hours are not very good on Sundays. read more

This could be a really good store. There is a need for a good health food store in Midland and Odessa. It was run better several years ago, but it has really gone down hill. The selection of groceries reminds of grocery shopping in a communist bloc country before the wall came down. There is always lots of empty shelf space in the grocery, meat and dairy sections. Possibly the best natural foods store in Midland! They have a lot of organic products, including vegetables, fruits, and meats. They also have a wide selection of vitamins as well as body care products (soaps, lotion, lip balm, shampoos, etc.). A nice variety of nuts and flours are in glass fridges to keep fresh. Worth the drive from Odessa! Finally, a health food store that actually sells real health food!!! Lots of it! It's also a great place for low-carbers. Great organic meat section (albeit frozen) and lots of dairy. The produce looked fresh and well presented. A bit of sticker shock since it's organic, but that's to be expected. Great bulk selection, both pre-packaged dry & refrigerated. It's nice when don't have to grab a scoop and weigh it yourself. Lots of sale endcaps when I was there. Great price on Gluten free crackers. $1.99 a box! Huge supplement & personal care section. Can't wait to spend more time checking out the soaps. Lots of selection to choose from. Over four years ago, when I first began to shop at this store, I really liked the environment and found the employees to be very hard working, pleasant and knowledgeable. I had some very bad news about my health back then and was looking to restore my health knowing it could be years before I would see results. I was relieved to find such knowledgeable, dedicated and caring employees and began shopping there almost twice a week for the last few years. However, since then, management, slowly but steadily, has seen their way to fire some of the best people that have worked for them. I don't like the young man that's in charge. (He stays in the office with his idiot, blonde side-kick most of the time) I spoke with him on a couple of occasions and found him to be very arrogant, distant and bothered that I asked for his help. It wasn't anything about me that he was being arrogant or distant about, it was his attitude in general. Over the last year or more (2016-2019) when I knew the third to last handful of people had been fired (thankfully they work for a competitor now who knows their worth) I almost quit shopping at this place because I got fed up with what I felt was him firing people just for the hell of it. I haven't shopped at this dump like I use to and if I shop there it's only to buy .25 R.O. water. I wouldn't recommend this store. read more

I go here since midland has very limited options, i really liked the place until I picked up a soda box and the handle broke on me. I caught all of them but one and it shattered, the girl looked at me like I was a child and went back and started talking about it to the other employees in which I got stares from them as well. Not sure why this caused such a fuss. I was then frustrated so I left, I went back a few weeks later and put some Zum cleaner in my basket, continued shopping when I hear "ma'am are you leaking something". I look around and see the Zum cleaner top was loose and leaking a trail as I shopped. She took it out and was like "well.... I guess I'll put this I damaged and you can get a new one....". I am guessing she expected me to pay for it? I don't know but I just think some of the staff are rude. Some are great but I have to be in a good mood to go in here or I'll leave annoyed. read more

I like this place, great little secret that is sure to get out. Yes, sometimes they are slow to restock Vegetables pricing is extremely hard to understand, but it is like a true neighborhood store. I love shopping at Natural Grocers! They have better prices and a better selection than many of the other area health food stores (but Natural Grocers can still be pricey!). The employees are so nice! They are always stocking, cleaning, and are friendly and always looking to help. They have a small, but well stocked, organic fruit and veggies section, lots of great organic frozen items, organic pet food and more aisle, lots of vitamins and supplements with a dedicated employee to help you in that area, a book corner, and a pretty good selection of natural beauty products and essential oils, best in the area (that I have found). I shop here several times a month. I don't live too close to the store, and I have had to call them a few times to see if they might have a hard to find item, and they always take the time to go look for me, and are so nice about it (I know that it's a bit of a pain). Natural Grocers just implemented a program, so you can earn points when you shop there. Just sign up online and always give your phone number at checkout. They also usually have coupon books at checkout, you can ask for one when you go in the store. They don't have plastic or paper bags when you check out, so either bring your own tote to carry your purchase out in, or you can use their boxes, they have plenty of those. The Midland Natural Grocers is always clean, has the nicest employees in the area and is the best health food store within a hundred or more miles. read more
