Albertsons in Hobbs is one of the most busy stores in this area. The store is always stocked up and the customer service is top notch.

The bad: The deli section w the seafood next to it has an awful reeking smell. I can't even describe the smell bc it is not rot but some disgusting plasticky smell if there was such a thing a rotting plastic mixed with spoiled food. It is so strong and gross. OSHA needs to intervene. Unbelievable The organic selection is mixed in w GMO and it's like a treasure hunt to find those food items. I requested goat butter at the courtesy counter to see if they could order it. I was told they'd call back and never did. The entrance is a death trap if there were a fire. The carts are huge. Where is there a health food store here like a co-op or Whole Foods. The only glass bottled water is Voss water and they place it on the top shelf- hard to reach. I cannot be the only person who wants to drink bougie water and avoid microplastics. They don't have an alkaline water dispenser. They hand out plastics bags which break easily. I haven't seen anyone bring canvas recycling bags. Average selection as far as teas... mediocre coffees. The good: very friendly people read more

Albertsons Market has always been the absolute best grocery store in Hobbs, NM. There are definitely cons, but the pros far outweigh those annoyances. So I'll start with the CONS: - parking lot gets crowded - pedestrians walk at a snail's pace - look out for crazy drivers & terrible parking jobs - the baggers sometimes cram my cloth bags too much - sometimes prices are on the high side - the days leading up to and on holidays are super packed - the plaza this store is located in is fairly popular, hence, crowded PROS + I've found more items in stock here than NOT before the COVID-19 pandemic, during, and after. + mostly friendly staff + fresh flowers in floral department + ready made items are usually good - except the jalapeno poppers! They've never spicy. Lol. + the meat department crew always tend to me quickly & efficiently + they roast Hatch chiles and have a few displays inside set up during season + affordable pricing on beer/liquor especially if you're a rewards member + their rewards program is free to join + the rewards app is easy to use with good coupons and chances to earn items like free packs of bottled water, etc. + the staff keeps the shopping carts in order most of the time + the baggers still assist people in need to their cars + their produce is pretty good (contrary to "No T.'s" 7/15/2020 review) + they try hard to keep the place clean and organized + self-checkout area (older folks generally think this is stupid, but I love it when I don't need to purchase booze) I still often shop at all of the other grocery stores in town. Like I stated earlier, this one's pros far outweigh the cons. TIP Although I am not at all a fan, I understand when folks need a coffee fix... There is a Starbucks inside. Nice grocery store. Clean. Bummed that "ready to go" hot food was not available (was just emptied). But then again it was 8pm.

This is my favorite grocery store in town. It's friendly, clean, and with great variety of products.

1) The store on Grimes St. in Hobbs, NM is not listed on the Albertson's website for the zip-code 88240 2) The produce department is full of rotten produce. Examples follow: - Organic avocados are rotten, mushy, and literally deflated. Sometimes they are so bad, the skin breaks when picked up - Rotten cherry tomatoes turn to liquid, and ooze from the bottom of the box. - Organic tomatoes have white, green, and black mold growing underneath - The produce is so bad at this location, it is ABSOLUTELY necessary to examine every item in every package - Apples so old they are wrinkled and dehydrated in the bag - Packaged organic salad mixes can't be trusted. Expiration dates seems to be non-existent to employees - Organic herbs are brown and wilted, or white and fuzzy inside. Fresh undamaged organic basil is very, very rare - Employees INTENTIONALLY put rotten produce on the shelves. I asked one employee why he put it out? "That's what came in on the truck" WHAAAT? - Organic raspberries on the cooler shelf are 99.9% likely to be moldy on the bottom - I once grabbed a bag of "riced" cauliflower that was so old it was half liquid. - Broccoli should not be dingy yellow and brown - Grapefruit should not be hazy white from some type of fungus or mold - Bagged lemons and limes should not be splotchy brown or crusty - Leafy greens should not wilted and yellow - Cucumbers should not have squishy black ends or moldy white spots - Bagged lettuce and celery should not have slimy brown liquid in the bottom of the bag - Stalks of parsley and cilantro drip with stringy mucus from the cooler shelves - Onions shouldn't have moldy green and black areas under the outer surface skin - Packaged mushrooms shouldn't be slimy or fuzzy 3) Why is the produce section so frequently out of so many items? - Item locations are often filled with items other than what is supposed to be there. If an item is out of stock, the place on the shelf is often filled with an adjacent item. It may stay that way for weeks. No one notices, no one looks, no one cares - Conversely, there are frequently empty spaces on the cooler shelves. - It is almost always necessary to go to another grocery store, because of un-stocked, mis-stocked, and rotten produce at this Albertsons store. 4) This produce department is NASTY! Shelves are so dirty they grow green and brown slime - Does anyone ever clean the cooler shelves? - Does anyone ever clean the produce bins? - When slimy rotten produce is removed from the bins, trays, or cooler shelves new produce is simply placed on top of the slimy rotten juice! 5) Talking to staff is utterly useless. They do not care - Complaints and questions are met with an attitude of resentment and indignation. - It's clear some produce department employees hate their job, and do not want to be at work. They appear to be annoyed or uninterested when asked for assistance. - Do you have any organic potatoes in the back? "I don't know." Will you be getting some anytime soon? "I don't know" - Another common excuse is "that's all we have." Is stocking rotten produce better than no produce at all? - Other excuses: "the truck is late", "the warehouse is out", "it wasn't on the truck", or "that's the way it arrived" - Some days may be better than other days, but overall nothing changes, nothing ever really improves - Do you have any fresh cilantro today? "Sorry, no English" pointing to someone else - Do you have any organic strawberries? Come back tomorrow. Day 2 - Do you have any organic strawberries? The truck is late, come back later. Day 3 - Do you have any organic strawberries? They were not on the truck - Employees routinely stock packaged items that expire on the same day! - Employees put out packages of salad greens when the contents are yellowed and slimy inside. They have NO idea the contents are spoiled. Is there any supervision or training going on here? - Earliest expiration dates are usually on the bottom of the stack or in the back of the shelf. First-in, first-out stock rotation is a foreign concept. Old items sit on the shelves, and go bad underneath or behind the newer fresher items. 6) Most of the employees at this store seem to take pride in their work. Some of them stand out; truly striving to be professional, and go above and beyond to help the customer. Unfortunately, the employees in the produce department are often as rotten as the produce itself. I am SO FRUSTRATED with the produce department in this store! I truly wish someone from the Albertsons corporate office would do something to address these issues. read more

yes it's more expensive than walmart but you also don't have to wait in line an hour to check out. They always have plenty of registers open. There shelves are stocked. It's clean and the employees are friendly. That is why we go- we are to the point where we will pay a little extra to get in and out in a timely manner. I find their produce dept very fresh and we've never had anything bad. I also enjoy their meat selection. The deli is - can't really speak to it because we don't use it often. I did get mustard potato salad there that was a huge disappointment. It was honestly the worst potato salad I've had in my life. I think someone was distracted while adding dill. If you are stuck in Hobbs, this is the place you want to get groceries. It is way better than walmart, and i'm not sure they cost any more. Walmart is expensive her. They speak more English here also. It's a fairly decent place. Very busy like all stores in Hobbs, now. read more

Overall an OK store. Forget about getting good seafood here; it's going to be at least 2 days old at best, but he beef is usually excellent and they will make special cuts if you ask. Produce department is hit and miss; sometimes it's great and other times it's horrible - same for the cheese selections. A very reasonable selection of foreign foods, considering the location of Hobbs. Also, it's nice having the liquor store adjacent to the main store. Overall not to bad. Wish they would put in self check out though. read more

My favorite place to grocery shop in Hobbs. The employees are very friendly and often helpful. The lines don't take a year to check out and the produce is better than anything you'll find in town. I really like the organic options that they have made available lately. They are out of items sometimes, but I'd rather wait for the item to come in then to go to Walmart. read more
