The entrance is at the new traffic signal corner of W 42nd St and State Hwy 302 (Kermit Hwy). There are about a dozen of fuel pumps for autos and diesel lanes are to the back. This Pilot includes a self serve Dunkin (NOT Dunkin Donuts) with day old donuts, PJ Fresh serves all the pizza (2/$7 or $3.59 ea), chicken strips, wings, roasted chicken ,sides and more. Inside the store is very spacious, clean and new restrooms and showers for drivers. Overall close to the in laws, I'll be stopping here more often!

I walked behind the counter, grabbed my pictures I'm headed to check out. Then magically a Store employee appeared telling me I can't be behind the counter. She said something about passport, photos, and federal protection or something. I informed her that if I didn't have to wait and someone had acknowledged me, I wouldn't have to go behind the counter to get my pictures. (I guess they think someone's gonna go behind The counter and search through all Those envelopes of pictures looking for passport photos. Not sure what they would do with them if they found them but anyway...) She said something else and I just blew her off. Then this woman tells me that they can refuse service to anyone. I threw my stuff up on the counter and left. It's good to know that they can refuse service to anyone because I can take my prescriptions in my business elsewhere.

You order at the counter. The menu on the wall has plenty of options from lunch plates, tacos, burritos, tortas and the like. The burritos come on homemade tortillas, and beans are a staple. They make them in front of you scooping up whatever goodness you have selected. We got the chile verde (my favorite) and the asadero which was a saucy, red concoction. The burritos are $3.50 each and very filling. The salsa they give you is hot. I will definitely be back to try some of the other offerings. One other note, I could not find a single diet soda in the joint.

I find it quite humorous that Baby Boomers talk so much smack about "why do I have to check myself out? Do I get to claim this on my taxes?" I get it and I am annoyed by these comments at the same time. My youngest daughter noticed that the snack sections were lit up. While Texas schools are requiring teachers to remove their mini fridges and microwaves from their classrooms, quick shops are adding even more lights. They got it all: An abundance of fuel pumps.
