My wife and daughter have been using Manor Pharmacy since they opened and have been very happy. They have helped my wife a couple times when she was out of refills of her seizure medication. At the Manor, TX location, there are condescending employees who use racially charged language in reference to customers. On the phone, the person acted like I was the one inconveniencing them for simply asking about a medication I need. No apology was received for not having the medicine I needed, they simply wanted me off the phone, and said "that's okay", as if I was the one wasting their time. I thought using a smaller pharmacy would be better than Walgreens, and I was wrong.

Yesterday, after receiving a text two days…read moreearlier from my doctor saying my anxiety meds that I was completely out of were ready, I went to pick up my prescription and they said it wasn't there. From his perch, Colin asked which meds and I told him. He said I'm not due for a refill for 2 more weeks. He obviously didn't get the update from my doctor that two weeks earlier I was instructed to double my dosage and now I was out. My doctor also made it clear that it was medically dangerous for me to stop taking those meds cold turkey. I tried to appeal to Colin's humanity and asked if it was possible to borrow a couple doses until we got it figured out, he suddenly became enraged, yelled at me over my weak pleas for understanding, got down from his perch and stormed towards me in a threatening manner, raising his voice all the way, then slammed a copy of my old prescription (instead of the updated one) down on the counter and began to turn to go back to his high horse. He was behaving like a petulant child. I have been patronizing his shop for 12 years, since we moved to Elgin, and it was always pleasant there. I kind of looked forward to visiting his pharmacy. My wife and I prefer to shop locally. But yesterday, Colin seemed crazed suddenly for no good reason. After several calls to my doctor's office, the prescription finally got updated at Elgin Medicine Shop. I called from my job in Austin to see if Colin had received the new 'script and he said he had. Then I merely remarked "you were a tad aggressive today" hoping we could find a way to smooth things over, but he doubled down, raising his voice again, saying I wouldn't listen to him earlier. It is true, I wasn't listening to him say over and over that the prescription he had wasn't the dosage that I was told. But isn't it part of a health care professional's job to listen to the patient/customer? I told him that after I picked up these meds I was going to find a different pharmacy from now on. He exploded "We can end this relationship right now! What pharmacy do you want me to send this to?" I just hung up, shaking. Boy, I guess those meds do work because I felt like I had been set way back in my wellness journey. Colin then called my wife, at her job, asking her which pharmacy did we want him to send the prescription because I had hung up on him, adding that I was going to claim that he yelled at me but he didn't. She said that he did say he was "stern with me". Since when is it remotely acceptable for a pharmacist to get "stern with" a customer trying to get their anxiety meds??? Seriously, Colin should be investigated, for the safety of our community. Steroids, maybe?

The floors were clean, and there were plenty of bags to place vegetables/fruit in. Towards the back, there's a rack with discounted pastries; we say baguettes (white and wheat, sweet potato pie, pumpkin pie, some cookea, and muffins! Would highly recommend checking it out to save some money! The self check-out was easy to use, and there was an attendant nearby to help customers if needed.

Right now I'm sitting in a chair, sick, because they somehow didn't get the script my doc called in last night. Of two, they received one. How is that possible? The ONLY reason I use this location is because it's a mile from my house.

(No call back). So someone went into a bin with my name on it and took the paid for medication to use for someone else because they had a "lot of orders"?! How is that okay? Is this place a scam? What if this was a senior or anyone urgently needing their medication and they are asked to pay again for the medication, that is already paid for, each time they call? How is this good practice?

Without even asking, they go above and beyond looking for the best deal on expensive medications. An example was my son needed a pediatric eczema cream that was $700 at Walgreens. We have pretty good insurance through Aetna but they weren't covering it. Guess how much I paid for it at Texan pharmacy with their help (that I didn't even have to ask for!). $10. They're amazing, caring and we all need to support local now more than ever.

Walgreens even has gift cards and greeting cards in case you forget. They always have a seasonal aisle for the holidays with cute stuff. Right now, it's full of summer items. The cashiers are always friendly and Walgreens always has some deal going on for Card members. Be sure to sign up if you haven't already so you earn rewards on your purchases. I have only used the pharmacy once and it was a pleasant experience. Nothing stressful and everything was processed via insurance like expected. Thank you Walgreens' cashiers for always being so friendly.
