I use to love this HEB until now that they've remodeled. The other reviewer was accurate when she said that they have gotten rid of alot of products I use often. In addition, their prices have gone up ALOT! Overall, it looks like they've gone up 10-20% on all their items. I spend on avg $900-$1,000 a month there and I will be moving my business to Walmart with exception of my meat purchases. I hate Walmart but I can't pay the prices that HEB is offering anymore. BEWARE of scale problems! Twice in the last three weeks I've purchased grapes using different check out lines and both times OVERCHARGED! By almost 1 pound. With grapes sometimes @ $2.89 a pound that's being overcharged almost $3.00! My bananas were off also, but not as much. I have notified management, but just wanted everyone else to be mindful of the way they are stealing our hard earned $$$ from us the consumer. read more

I agree with the other reviews that this HEB has a great selection of groceries, but oh my God this place is always packed. If it is open, then the parking lot is full and you will have to weave your way in and out of the throng, taking twice as long to get that bag of chips and jar of salsa than you thought it would. They also always seem to be stocking, so add giant carts full of groceries in cardboard boxes strewn through the aisles to the equation,and you have yourself a gauntlet of grocery shopping worthy of the last ten minutes of an episode of American Gladiators. If you have any sort of claustrophobia or fear of crowds at all this place will play on your nerves like a pot-banging toddler set loose in a William-Sonoma. This location is closer to where we live than the Main Street location near Brookshire, but we always end up shopping there for our weekly groceries because it's never as crowded. We only use this location for short trips for things we need in-between. The way they have their produce section set up at the entrance of the store doesn't help anything. It's like being lost in a maze on the Chiquita Banana estate. read more

Everytime I shop there, I pick up items on sale and they always ring up at regular price and that is why I don't shop at HEB no more. When you ask employees where something is at, they send you on a wild goose chase. Kroger is where I shop now, they have better sales like their mega event sales and you can mix and match and save on every item. read more

Had a weird experience here the other day lol. I'm in the checkout line and when the customer in front of me left with her groceries the clerk started replenishing his coins in his cash box. I'm a pretty patient person so I didnt mind but he didn't bother to acknowledging my presence. A simple, "one moment sir" would have sufficed. Anyways no big deal, he proceeds to check me out and still has not said a single word to me nor did he even look up at me, he was in his own zone it seemed so I let it slide. Eventually he had trouble scanning an item and needed assistance. So we both awkwardly stood in front of each other waiting for assistance. Once again, no words spoken. A simple, "I'm sorry sir, give me a second so I can get the code to scan your items" would have made things a lot less awkward but nothing was spoken at all. Finally he finishes scanning my whopping three items and I'm standing there with bills in my hand waiting for him to give me my total. Instead of telling me my total he just grabs all my cash out of my hand (I was holding it on my side of the little table thingy you sign your checks on). THIS is where I lost my patience, so I asked "so what is my total?". STILL, no words from the dude! He POINTS at his monitor. There's a bunch of stuff on the screen not to mention I have shitty eyesight (not his problem, I know) so I told him "bro I can't see it. What IS the total?" Finally homie spoke up and told me verbally what my total was which was just under twenty bucks but he had already snatched all of my cash from my hand. So I was like "okay, well that's like 40 something bucks" so keeps a $20 and give me back the rest of my money. Just when I thought I was home free he had trouble opening his drawer. AGAIN, the dude does not say anything like "just a moment I need a manager to open my drawer" we're just standing there awkwardly in silence. I lost my cool at that point and didn't wanna look like an asshole so I just left and told him he can keep my change. In the end I understand that things happen and it's not always the employees fault. HOWEVER, handling the situation appropriately IS the employees responsibility. I'm not upset that he needed to refill his register. I'm not upset that he had trouble scanning an item. I'm not upset that his drawer malfunctioned. The problem I had with it is I was there for more than five minutes and the only things that were spoken on his behalf was him giving me my total (after I asked him twice essentially) and him responding with "you sure?" After I told him he can keep my change. No "Hello" no apology for the wait, no explanation as to what the hell I was waiting for, and not a single "thank you". Pleasant words go a long way buddy. read more

I have been to the HEB bakery FOUR times in the last week trying to order my sons birthday cake! The first evening I went they asked me to come back the next day because the decorator only works until 6pm so at 3pm the next day I go by the bakery and they said the decorator left at 2pm I waited a day and tried again... this third attempt I spoke with a manager and showed her the printed out photo of the cake I was needing in a week and a half and the manager said they could d the cake but I do need to wait to speak with the decorator for exact details of the decorating. I went back for the FOURTH time this morning and was told that they can not make this cake. " they do not do custom cakes and they must be out of the book" When talking with another HEB bakery location they could do this cake with no problem! I will NEVER go to the HEB bakery on Fry Road again. The staff is just WORTHLESS. read more

I love HEB and once upon a time I loved this location but since the old manager left and the new one took over this place has been a terrible place to visit. The new manager is too important to interact with the people playing his salary...ME and other customers. One service I enjoy is the steam machine in the seafood area, the machine was broken for more than five weeks and then once it arrived could not be utilized for another two weeks. The produce has gone downhill, the music went from great family friendly music under the previous manager to music with inappropriate lyrics, staff members in general at the registers and front area are not helpful, they are smiling but engaged with either other staff members or they are uninterested (I am certain this does not apply to every single member). The list could go on and on but clearly our former manager was promoted for running a great operation and we were provided someone that could not cut it at a big store such as Bunker Hill. No thanks HEB my life has enough stress without broken equipment which turned into broken promises, a manager that does not return a call and plays inappropriate music. I have never had a problem with HEB until now. So my husband went grocery shopping on 9-27-18, he bought our usual meats. Once home I unpacked everything and froze it all. Now the sell by dates were all in early October so it should all be good. Today 10-1-18 I open up our chicken breast and start cutting it just to find out it has a foul smell. So I call this location to tell them what happened. Now I don't have the original package because I split the chicken breast into two days of food, which at the time you couldn't smell unless you cut it open. I also don't have the original receipt because the cashier gave my husband the wrong receipt which he didn't notice until I said something 2 days later. The lady at customer service basically tells me they can't do anything since I don't have the receipt nor the original package. I ask to speak with the manager and began to tell him the same thing. He tells me I can come an exchange it! Great! So I get up there and now it a problem cause I don't have the receipt nor the package. Luckily he let me exchange however the chicken he lets me get is one with a sell by date of 10-3-18. All the chicken breast had that sell date. I told him I didn't want that one because it probably has a foul smell. He assured me it wouldn't. So I come to finally start dinner. I open my chicken and guess what.... IT SMELLS BAD! My husband then goes to resolve this issues and the manager tells him this is the only time he will do another exchange. I'm glad the exchanges our bad chicken twice but the second time the chicken shouldn't have been bad if it's still out to be sold and the manager shouldn't have made the comment he did about exchanging it. I'm very disappointed in the customer service that was provided to me. read more

I come to HEB because the lines ( if there are any) are managed quickly due the supervisor on duty and the fact that they actually have the registers staffed ( unlike Walmart). I also like that the store looks clean and well-loved. When I am in a hurry, I come here. When I need meat, I come here, not Walmart. When I am strapped for cash and need to save every cent, I go to Walmart, but kicking and screaming. Also, when I have my kids with me and they inevitably have to use the restroom, this bathroom has been recently updated and is pleasant. read more

Even one star is being nice based upon my last visit. This review pertains to the pharmacy and while it may be convenient to pick up your medicine while shopping, I hope this makes you think twice about it. I dropped off a prescription at 3 PM and was told that it should be ready in an hour. That should have already been a red flag to me because the medicine I was getting is for my dog and comes prepackaged by the manufacturer. All the pharmacy literally has to do is verify that the prescription is legit and put a label on the box. I respect that retail can get busy especially during the holidays so I decided to go pick it up at 6 PM. I was greeted by the pharmacy cashier and she did not seem one bit apologetic that it was not ready and told me to go in the drop off lane while it was being prepared. Up until there I remained calm but then I realized thirty-five minutes had gone by with multiple cars coming and going after picking up their medicine. Over the course of the time I waited the cashier told me three times that they are finishing up but obviously not. I pressed the call button for assistance and was ignored until after yet another car had left after picking up. She told me again it is almost done. At this point I began questioning what could be taking this long, are they making it back there? Jokes aside as I had said this is prepackaged. i was frustrated after not being told what the delay was and asked for my prescription back so I can take it elsewhere. They then proceeded to say that it is ready but I refuse to give business to an establishment that treats customers this way. I said that I will be going in to the store to speak with the highest manager and sure enough the guy that claims he is the store manager is waiting. I sure hope he is not based on his attitude towards customers. He did not say sorry once and told me that I should understand that delays are possible on a day this busy. However, it did not seem busy at all compared to the nearby pharmacies nor from the empty waiting room that I saw. There were two cars at once in the drive thru but that is not busy. In the end the conversation with the store manager went the way I did not expect as he told me I have the choice to take the prescription and leave. Last I checked that is not how a manager should act. There was a relief pharmacist who was of old age and not to be rude but if you are that slow at doing your job you should retire. She was explaining to the store manager that she was verifying the prescription and I am deeply concerned if it takes her that long to do so. To sum up the review, PLEASE save your time and go to the many other pharmacies. This store is not hurting for business when the store manager is saying take it or leave it this is the service you get here. read more
