The house sausage is great. It's our house favorite. Can't wait to try the beef fajitas.

They have freezer sections, fresh cuts, vacuum sealed items, I'd even go as far as saying that if you needed something off-menu, they might be able to hook you up. The folks behind the counter were very patient, and super efficient. We ended up leaving with two maple blueberry breakfast sausages, two decent sized New York Strip steaks, 2 girthy Who Dat Balls, 2 giant stuffed chicken breasts (one Italian, one 4 cheese), a dozen boudin stuffed tamales, and two thiccc vac-sealed brisket burgers. Even so, there so much more to go back for. Luckily this joint sits right along the route to family, and we will be back for more. They have an array of your usual meats, plus a plethora of exotic and wild meats, and accompaniments. Some of their items can come pre-seasoned or pre-rubbed. Parking is easy on a weekend, but could be tight during rush. They also have a customer service reward program, so get your stamp on. I'll update after I have cooked some of the foods, and sampled more of the inventory.

Most people were in jeans and a polo but some people had jackets, saw one guy in gym shorts so a fairly wide range Food 5/5: we got the prosciutto and burrata and the steak salad for apps, the filet and pork chop for mains and the carrot cake and chocolate cake for dessert. Everything tasted amazing, the filet was perhaps a little over salted but still delicious. Service 5/5: very friendly and professional with good recommendation and prompt water refill. Ambiance 3.5/5: very beautiful location but a bit over crowded and quite loud. Felt like people walking past kept kicking into my chair leg even when I was tucked in Value 4.5/5: Imo this is one of the best values part of houston restaurant week, actually better prices for the same dish Overall: good food and good service, one of my fave steakhouses in town, will be back Parking: 6$ valet or paid street parking or can be free parking in the back past the lot

So imagine my disappointment when my beautifully cooked steak came finished with olive oil. Thankfully not much but enough to make me immediately say 'ughhhh'. You don't need oils to enhance beef!!! Bread service was amazing. Mustard butter incredible. Mashed potatoes were fine. Corn soufflé I took one bite of and gagged. So not good. Raw barely cooked mushy corn bread with wet corn, slimy peppers and cheese on it. HURK!!! Not good. Dessert however was sadly the most disappointing. A baked pecan dessert with ice cream. Ummmmm. It was a ball of ice cream baked Alaskan style with basically no pecans. Just some odd cookie pieces in it. Had they kept the steak plan I would say this was the best steak in Houston I've had so far but I can't even say that. Sides didn't save it. Service was fine.

Straight up buzzing with energy. You can tell it's one of those neighborhood staples where everybody pulls up. They had er'thang. I'm talking wall to wall options. And let me tell you what made me grin... ready made cowboy beans just sitting in the fridge like a hidden gem. Say less. The BBQ side... whole situation. Line out the door. Always a good sign. Folks don't queue up like that for mediocrity. Service was friendly, quick, no weird attitudes, just good people handling business. We even snagged a few desserts to haul back to Florida... because why not live a little Overall vibe... warm, community driven, felt familiar in the best way. They have security so don't try nothing... you can conduct your business and feel safe... Honestly gave me flashbacks to Moo & Oink back home in Chicago. That same lively, everybody-knows-this-spot kind of feel. If you're anywhere near Bud's... pull up. Easy recommendation.
