The service is always friendly & the ambience is set up so well it's so easy to find everything you are looking for. They have the MEATS! I received a gift card from family and finally got my rear in gear to check it out this last weekend. They have quite a selection of everything here. They have freezer sections, fresh cuts, vacuum sealed items, I'd even go as far as saying that if you needed something off-menu, they might be able to hook you up. The folks behind the counter were very patient, and super efficient. We ended up leaving with two maple blueberry breakfast sausages, two decent sized New York Strip steaks, 2 girthy Who Dat Balls, 2 giant stuffed chicken breasts (one Italian, one 4 cheese), a dozen boudin stuffed tamales, and two thiccc vac-sealed brisket burgers. Even so, there so much more to go back for. Luckily this joint sits right along the route to family, and we will be back for more. They have an array of your usual meats, plus a plethora of exotic and wild meats, and accompaniments. Some of their items can come pre-seasoned or pre-rubbed. Parking is easy on a weekend, but could be tight during rush. They also have a customer service reward program, so get your stamp on. I haven't bought anything from Kroger or HEB, it's gross. Only meat and proteins from STONE Cold. I purchased the brisket hamburgers, merguez sausage, and bacon wrapped filet. The bacon wrapped filets were excellent; beef had superb flavor.The brisket burgers were life changing for me... so extremely juicy (I grilled them to medium rare, with only salt and pepper. The butchers are SUPER helpful and accommodating; just tell them your preference, cuts or simply how you like your meat at a restaurant- and they'll walk you through it. I've tried to visit other meat markets closer to my house, as this one is approximately 15-20 mins away, but none beat this place. My wife and I have gone several times and we've gotten steaks (filets and ribeyes), street taco meat, Nilgai cutlets, pork loin, pork shoulder, and more! Every piece of meat we've gotten there has been awesome. They also have a wide variety of sausage, whole chickens, boudin, and spices. Excellent brisket burger meat Highly recommended, great customer service and quality

This review is based 100% on deer processing. I came here based upon what I had heard from others about the quality of their meat. As any deer hunter knows, personal preference in the taste of deer sausage can vary widely between hunters. However, my review is based primarily on value for the money. Please allow me to explain. I brought approximately 27 pounds of deboned deer meat to be processed. They told me they have an $85 processing fee for ANY deer/hog under 100 pounds. I explained that I had already deboned my deer. They agreed to reduce my processing fee down to $40. I have found that most other processors typically don't charge any fees for a deer that is already deboned. Personally, I feel that $85 is very high compared to what I have seen in the past at other places. Again, I always debone mine myself so I never pay a fee. I chose the jalapeño & cheese option for 70% of my meat and cheddar & bacon for the remaining 30%. The cost to have this sausage made is $3.75 per pound. I typically have my venison mixed with pork at a 50:50 ratio. Adding pork to your sausage here is $3.99 per lb. I am now looking at a price tag of $7.74 per pound for venison/pork sausage. They processed the meat quickly. I was called to pick up my meat eight days later. That is really quick compared to most processors. Be warned they will charge an additional $20 per day storage if you wait longer than 48 hours to pick up your meat after they call you. I picked mine up the same day they called. However, I was very disappointed when I picked up my meat to find out it is still raw. They do not smoke the meat. Granted, the price sheet does not say they smoke it. However, until now, I have never picked up venison sausage that was not smoked when I picked up it. I was utterly shocked. When I dropped my meat off, I made the mistake of assuming it would be smoked when I picked it up. They admitted that Daniel should have explained it to me when I dropped it off. They also failed to reduce the price of the processing fee and attempted to charge me the full $85 processing fee. I told them that Daniel had agreed to reduce the price to $40. The cashier stated that he failed to write it on the order. Needless say, I personally think $7.74 per pound to grind venison and pork and encase it into a sausage skin and not smoke it is a little outrageous. I spent around $240 for raw processing. This included the sausage being wrapped in freezer paper. If you want it vacuum-wrapped, that costs an additional $1.00 per pound. My photos include the price sheet I was given (Feb 2019). I also included two photos of the link sausage. The photos I included are ones that I took after I took the meat home and cooked it on my smoker. The pink smoke ring that is on each piece is from my smoker, not the processing. I think the taste of the sausage is average. Again, taste is a very personal thing so my review is based solely on the cost/value of processing. Bottom line - Fast deer processing but in my opinion is higher cost/lower value because of the lack of smoking. For the price I paid, I expected more for my money. When it comes to deer processing, I'll go elsewhere in the future. read more

I stopped in to see if I could purchase some suet (fat trimmings) to mix with some lean deer meat. The guy behind the counter didn't even know what I was talking about, which is odd because that's a common term in the meat/butcher business. I explain, and he tells me they're about to cut some ribeyes and he could get me trimmings. I ask how much they charge and he proceeds to tell me "the same as ground meat" which was $4.xx/lb. I ask the question "over $4 for fat"? He they says, "I'm not going to bargain with you dude". He was pretty much an asshole about it and all I did was question the price of plain FAT trimmings, no meat. I said I was disappointed in them for that and walked out. What I wanted to say was, you can fuck right off for that comment. As someone who buys meat from there several times a month and typically buys roasts/loins for holidays, I will never go back. They're conveniently close to my home, but Chopping Block in Webster is closer to my office and they've always been respectful. They just gained a new full time customer. Sancho behind the counter at Stone Cold has no business being in customer service. I guess Stone Cold goes for their attitudes as well. read more

We needed two pounds of center cut chuck (chuck eye) for our special chile con carne recipe. It's a hassle getting it at the grocery store because they are not generally in stock.
