    Hebert's Specialty Meats.

Missing authentic Louisiana cuisine and ingredients, have a dinner party where you want to wow your guest or just a big family dinner and you need a little help then Hebert's Specialty Meat has got you covered. They have a very big selection of Beef Satay, Stuffed Quail, Alligator, Crawfish Pies, DeBoned Chicken, Craklin', Andouille sausage, Stuffed Potato casserole, Rice dressing, Shrimp dressing, crawfish tails and more. If you need a little help they even provide cooking directions on their menu how to reheat or cook the meals desired. Do not forget about the deserts!!! Now all you need is a little zydeco music, refreshments and the party is on.

Deboned chicken stuffed w/cornbread dressing, corn, and green beans

Changed plans for winter break and swung by Hebert's Meat Market for a quick meal. The deboned chicken stuffed with cornbread dressing was good, but the dressing was too moist for our liking. Green beans and corn sides were not our favorites. However, the boudin balls were spot on with a perfect meat to rice ratio. Also tried the chicken Diablo by mistake and was pleasantly surprised. Will definitely be back for the appetizers.

No lack of chicken and sausage in the gumbo!! So good!!

This is the best Cajun food around! Frozen foods to go and hot lunches!! We always get the boudin balls, gumbo and a cornbread dressing stuffed chicken. It's amazing and leftovers are slim! Food is always seasoned on point. The location I go to is on Dairy Ashford just south of 10 in a strip mall across from Stafford High.

Fun shopping; perhaps the best cajun culinary shopping experience in the Gulf Coast. Great flavors - fair value.

Ask the Community - Hebert's Specialty Meats

Do you have cajun fried turkey?

We do not fry turkeys, but we have Deboned Stuffed Turkeys!! They are stuffed with your choice of Cornbread dressing, Rice dressing, Shrimp and Rice dressing, or Crawfish and Rice dressing. Thanks

Hi!! Is your Turducken Gluten Free? I know it had cornbread stuffing but that isn't always GF. Thank you.

No. Our standard turducken is not gluten free. You can special order a turducken with pork dressing (Sausage) between each of the birds. This will be gluten free. Just call the store that you would like to pick up from and place your order.… Read more

How are the turkeys for Thanksgiving? What are the favorites?

If I'm not mistaken, Hebert's created the turducken so that's popular for the holidays. I can't rave enough about everything from Hebert's!!

Hi - is your Boudin gluten free?

The pork boudin and cauliflower boudin are gluten free

Is the susage made from Pork?

We have over 15 different kinds of Sausage. Not all have Pork. Chicken Sausage, Chicken/Jalapeno Sausage, Turkey Sausage, Smoked All Beef Sausage, etc. Come on by and we will be happy to help you out!

Do they sell boudin made with cauliflower rice?

Yes. We do sell a pork boudin with cauliflower rice.

Do they sell pork belly with rind on?

I'm sorry, but we do not sell pork belly with the rind on. Try J&J Packing in Brookshire, TX. They are an actual hog slaughterhouse.

As winners of the Steak Showdown in Texas in 2023 for the people's choice for best traditional dish and the judges choice for best creative dish, they've garnered a respectable following as a pop-up with Houston foodies on Instagram. Their model for first-come, first-served attracts the curious and past fans of their work. Expect a minimum wait of about 2 hours and pray they don't run out of anything. We made the mistake of dressing moderately warm for the cold temperatures of January, but who would've thought that we'd be seeing 6 inches of snow--and in Houston of all places? Admittngly, the smells waiting in line are absolutely intoxicating. The folks are trying to be as accommodating as possible with how cold it's getting by setting up propane warmers around their setup inside the parking space at PARK BLVD in the Heights, but one can only endure waiting in a crawling line for so long--there can be better process management to attack the demand. It was especially upsetting seeing people jump out of the line just to end up 30 minutes in front of you ordering the last 3 available ribeyes. We ended up getting the LAST tomahawk ribeye that we reserved online the week prior and it was epic..! But talk about stressful... The team also gave us some laotian sausage for standing in line for so long but there's got to be some kind of fail safe in place so that you don't have people waiting hours just to buy up a plate of sides. All the meats should be counted prior and counted as theyre being sold, and maybe limiting 2 entrees per person would help mitigate the amount of empty mouths. Anyway, the food was amazing. I'm definitely coming back on the next pop-up!

Food: 3 Service: 5…read more We came here on a weekday for lunch and the place was bustling with people. I had originally wanted to come because I saw that they sold steaks for purchase you can bring home to cook. However, since it was lunchtime and we were already hungry, we decided to grab some lunch as well. We got the 3 meat combo with chicken, brisket, and ribs. It came with two sides and we chose coleslaw and chicken salad. I thought it was nice they had extra protein choices as sides. They also had a tuna salad and egg salad in addition to pasta salad, beans, potato salad and other options. The food came out quickly and the meats were all very tender. However, they just tasted salty. I had a hard time tasting any other spices/flavors which is what I'm accustomed to at other bbq places. The chicken salad was salty as well. It would've been tastier in a sandwich with some crisp greens versus just by itself. Coleslaw was average. Edible but nothing special. Husband thought it was too sweet. I do have to say the service was very friendly. The worker behind the counter gave us the impression that he really wanted to help and make us comfortable. When I found out they only sold bottled water, he offered to go to the back and grabbed us two cups of tap water, which was a nice gesture because he didn't have to. We ended up not getting any other meats because the unpackaged steaks looked dried out and sad in fridge. I wasn't sure if those were the pieces they would sell you or if they were just for display. But for $34.99/lb, I didn't want to risk them giving me the dried out looking steak. Overall, it seemed like people really like this place . The person in front of my husband said this place has the best burgers! And lots of people kept coming in and out. However, for us, this isn't our favorite.

As a person native born to Houston, but having lived and explored much of the world, one of my favorite things to do is to invite friends to go on a walking tour with me, of the area around the Houston Farmer's Market on Airline. Many years run by the Canino family, as a co-op with local farmers. And when they retired a group of Houstonians, committed to preserving it and making it as nice as possible for shopping. And it's a wonderful place to go shopping for fruits and vegetables and to eat one of the restaurants here. So I usually begin my walking tour with a trip to El Bolillo Bakery to show them the breads and then over to Granel Spices and then to El Rey meat market to show them the chorizo that I like and the freshly made chicharrones and to pointing out the most excellent Mexican restaurant just on the side El Rey. And then heading over to the farmers market proper and showing them the excellent flour tortillas that one can get at Alamo Tamales. A visit to LA Crawfish or other eateries. And also walk and talk about the different uses of the spices and maybe some tropical fruits that people might not be familiar with. It's a great half day and I love taking people around.
