My move was easy, only 5 items, but Mark (& crew) was careful and wrapped everything and took care that the move was done right.

These guys are incredible! I booked them about a week out, when other options were initially unable to accommodate my request. They moved me out of my one bedroom apt in SF into Daly City (both with narrow stairs and no elevator) and we're done loading/unloading within 5 hours. The wrapped all my furniture and I had little to no scratches (I'm pretty sure I did more damage moving my stuff around after they left). Can't recommend them enough! read more

Very nice people great reasonable price and the movers are very nice and kind and not greedy and lazy like other moving companies This is the second time I used this company to move and they are awesome !!! read more

I specifically requested a big truck for moving my 4 bedroom house, they sent a medium size truck and have to run 2 trips, which cost extra 2 hours on the road. Other negatives: 1. One worker is an hour late, and they charge me on the same rate! 2. They are not experienced in moving furnitures. They don't even have electric tools to disassemble my bed, took them hours to do that. 3. Even without any sofa, washer/dryer, refrigerator, they took 12 hours to move a 4 bedroom house. I've packed everything in boxes, and it still takes them that long! At the end they charge me over 2000! I'm very disappointed with the experience. I will never hire this company again and you should think twice too, especially if you have a lot to move. read more

They were great. Very professional and weren't pushy for anything, like lunch or extra tips, like other Chinese movers I've used in the past. Yes, you read that correctly. I've had other movers demand I buy them lunch, and then got very pushy when they didn't think I gave them enough tip even though I had given them a 33% tip! These guys didn't even ask for a tip at all, which made us tip them more. Vs another company where the guy wouldn't leave my house and it got pretty aggressive. These guys were a breath of fresh air compared to those other ones. They've helped my parents move twice now and helped me move once. Highly recommended. And you don't have to speak mandarin. Don't worry. I don't speak mandarin and it was fine. The younger guy (the son of the father son duo?) speaks perfect English. But they all do speak fluent mandarin if you're more comfortable with mandarin. read more

These guys are an exceptional moving crew. Friendly, efficient too.The lead guy, a wiry little guy who can lift incredible weights, is very cheerful. His team is unusually cooperative about placing stuff where you want it. They take great care with furniture, wrapping it well to avoid damage. This is by far the best move I've had in terms of my stuff coming through in good shape. And at their (reasonable) prices, the bang for the buck is exceptional. Be ready for a mix of English speakers and non. The office guy, Mark, was even surprisingly understanding when I bounced two checks... Ulpp. My wife and I would recommend H & Y without hesitation. read more

The movers were first late for 45 minutes. In terms of the moving speed, we've bagged everything ahead of time and placed them outside of our apartment. It took them 15 minutes to come up each time with elevator and it took about 3 hours while we only have a bedroom. One of them whined about us living in the second floor equals to the third. The worst is yet to come. After paying tips, they demanded $100 of tips, claiming they would've received nothing from the $80 per hour rates. One mover busted into our apartment and claimed if we wouldn't pay him more tips, he threatened us and claimed that he would come back to our apartment and demand. However, later my friend told me one of the movers was the owner of this company. Should've called the police on them. I would definitely contact local department on this company. A total fraud. read more

I could not be happier with the service I received from H & Y Moving. The guys were careful but efficient. I paid them by the hour, and they could have easily taken their time to get paid more, but they finished in record time. I would highly recommend them to anyone, and I am looking forward to using them again in the near future. read more

H & Y Moving is great! I used them to move from San Francisco to Sacramento recently. They provide me excellent service on a short notice. I shopped around for a while before I decided to go with them -- the price is pretty low and fair and it turns out to be just what Wendy said, no any surprises! They arrived just a little later than the scheduled time, the driver gave me a call in advance though explaining that there is traffic and they will be at my place soon. It is acceptable and makes me feel that my time is valued. The movers are very efficient and couteous, and they were very careful with my belongings. Since the driving distance is around 2 hours, they wrapped up my furniture very carefully with blankets, plastic wraps and the materials on their truck. They also disassemble my bed and help me assemble it at my new place in Sacramento at no additional cost. I highly recommend H & Y Moving and I will definitely refer them to my family and friends when they move in the future. read more

Very professional moving company! Just moved two weeks ago and I've given their number to one of my friends who is going to move within next week. The dispatcher lady was very nice and we communicate very well to verify the time schedule. Two workers were quiet and did everything well and quickly. They have huge track which could hold staff for an entire house. And the price was reasonable. I'll definetly recommend them. read more

One room to one room about 10 boxes without any furniture. A friend recommended them to me. They did good job, nothing was damaged, but they ask me for more tips at last, 15/per hour for each person as they said. read more

There is just no reason to use any other movers. Wendy responds ASAP to the request for quote and they were ~30% cheaper then any other quote. Their price is their price - they don't nickle and dime you for tape, boxes, blankets etc. At the end of my move they charged me X hours times Y hourly rate (plus the $20 fuel surcharge) and that was it. These guys don't all speak the best english but communication was no problem at all. Anytime a piece of furniture was damaged or looked like it might be damaged they showed me the piece _before_ packing and moving it. I am still unpacking but have found 0 damage from the move so far. I had a huge move and they worked absolutely non stop the entire time for 6.5 hours, I was certain they wouldn't have fit all our stuff in their truck but they fit absolutely everything! I can't say how impressed I am with H&Y moving and I would never choose another moving company (but hopefully I won't need to for a while!), I tipped them 35% they were so amazing, and you will want to too! read more

I used H&Y moving twice in the last 2 months and I'm very satisfied with their service. The movers are very professional - they wrap all my furnitures carefully and moved very fast. Their quote is the most competitive around the bay area. I searched on Craigslist for several moving companies, and Wendy from H&Y company provided me the best quote. I highly recommend H&Y moving company to anyone who's looking for a moving service. read more

An overdue review. Got recommended by a friend and was really impressed by their competitive price for moving. Wendy, the coordinator, is very friendly and helpful, quick to respond and flexible on customer's need. read more

I have used this moving service twice. They provided the best service I have had. Very professional. I definetly will recommend them to family and friends. read more

Hands down the best price and excellent service. I first used them to help me move from SF to the peninsula. Wendy gave me a quote with detailed explanation and the final price was exactly the same as her quote. The movers were on-time, professional, and were working non-stop. Not a single minute wasted. Most importantly, they were very careful with the fragile furnitures and provided extra protection. I used them second time to move within the peninsula, only this time with more stuff. They were again professional, efficient, and hard working, not to say the price they asked was probably the cheapest in the area. They also helped me move my piano this time, just like the pro piano movers. Would totally recommend to my family and friends. read more

Fast, reliable, friendly. Called them on a Monday and they were available the next day.

I had recommended them to my friends, my cousins, but they really disappointed me this time. I made the appointments two weeks in advance on Saturday 11am, at the moving day I prepared everything and waiting for them, Then I got a call from them on 12 pm told me that they can't be there until 3:30 pm. I was so upset, at last minute I have to got someone else to help me on moving. read more

Be warned about their tipping. The dispatcher will first ask you to tip then the movers will ask you directly if they think they didn't get enough. I wound up paying a 30% tip because they demanded it and I didn't want to get into a fight with them. This was with the San Mateo branch. Clearly the company doesn't pay its employees enough. read more

H&Y moved me a very short distance from San Mateo to San Carlos - they were excellent. I was sick during my move, so I felt horrible and was not much help - they took care of everything. They were fast, thorough, and incredibly strong. Getting movers to move me was the best decision I've ever made - I will never ask my friends to help me move again. These guys were professionals and made the move so easy. read more

Ours was a local move and everything went very smoothly. Mark was awesome during the move - really careful yet quick. Definitely recommend him and his team. Wendy was super helpful and polite. Absolutely glad we picked H&Y. read more

A great experience!! First off, Wendy the dispatcher was so nice! She worked with me at the last minute to find time for me to move the next day! The movers actually arrived a little early. They were very good and actually made it a fun move! No surprises at all once they were done, the price was EXACTLY what Wendy said it would be and that was so refreshing!! I highly recommend this company!!!!! read more

The movers were very professional and fast, and super careful with wrapping our stuff to make sure they dont get dirty or damaged. It's also super easy to schedule and communicate with Wendy though emails. However, they came 2.5 hours late. Although we were given a headsup that our move, which we scheduled on an afternoon, might be delayed by morning appointments, I did not expect THIS long. Wendy called several times on our moving day to keep us updated on what time the movers might arrive, and explained what happened in the morning that made them so late. I guess it could have been a five star experience if we moved first thing in the morning so that no other customers were ahead of us. read more

Solid moving company with very reasonable rates. Setting up the move with Wendy online was fast and efficient, even though I made arrangements at the last minute. The moving team showed up on time and worked quickly and efficiently. One of the guys spoke English so communication wasn't a problem. All my stuff was moved from start to finish with no issues. Would definitely recommend and use H&Y Moving again. read more

Great service. Workers were prompt, careful and efficient. They had all the right tools, boxed my cushions, wrapped and padded furniture. Reasonable rates. I would definitely recommend them. read more

H & Y did an unload job for us. 2 guys, 2 1/2 hours for a 2 bedroom, with TONS of boxes! Very courteous and careful with our belongings! Really hard working guys! Definately recommend them!! read more

I used H&Y Moving to move from Oakland to Fairfax. Wendy was super responsive, flexible, and helpful every step of the way. The movers were careful with my items and open to my giving them direction. I was very happy wit the work and would use H&Y again. Highly recommended and much less expensive than the other movers I checked into. Bottom line: Great value, responsive and professional. What else can you ask for? read more

Wendy the dispatcher was very nice and accommodating, but the movers were very unprofessional and rough with our belongings. One of the movers, after discovering that my mom and I could speak Mandarin, started whining about how they're paid very low and it's very hard work; basically, he was asking for a large tip. During the move, they knocked off a huge chunk of paint in my apartment and had no respect for our belongings. They just kept shoving and stuffing things in boxes, to the extent that they dented our metal rice cooker. When we got to our new house, they pulled our screen door so hard that the spring broke and the door can no longer close properly. After the move, the same guy who was whining about his low pay flat out asked for $10 more even though we gave each mover a very generous tip. In addition, they stood outside to smoke after they were done with the move, and just threw their cigarette butts onto our lawn after they were done. read more
