This store is so messy. The manager is horrible. Rude and stupid. they should hire somebody else or they will lose a lot of customers.

Update on review: when I emailed corporate, I was given an apology and was advised that I would receive coupons in the mail to turn my experience around. That never happened, nor a follow up email. Clearly they do not care about the impression they make on the public. Disappointing. One of my friends needed to return something here, and as me and another friend we're waiting, the "manager" Ebony was training an associate on something. Another customer was calling out to her. Very politely "ma'am? Excuse me" about 3times, but waited in between each time. Finally Ebony turned around and told the customer "hold on a minute, I'm training my associate" then turned around and continued to ignore the customer. Then asks the customer what she needed help with. The cost had a mall stroller, with a bar going up, and couldn't get out because the gate was half way down. So as the customer is waiting for Ebony to lift the gate, me and my friends start walking out, mentioning how rude and unprofessional that was, and as we are walking away we here Ebony yelling something out about how that is policy and "okay, thank you" with the worse attitude. Although this unprofessional conduct was not directed to me, I will be filing a complaint with corporate. Her attitude is uncalled for. read more

You walk in this H&M and you instantly know your not in San Francisco or Santana Row anymore. It definitely looks like a Great Mall H&M. The selection is average and quality to me looks to be an issue. I walked in ready to spend money and walked out with nothing because I was unimpressed with their selection. It is ok. Definitely larger than the one in Santana Row, but every time I go in there they have a strange smell. It makes me want to walk out of the store. There are some good fines and reasonablely priced. Sizes are kind of off so make sure to try on the clothes. read more

i love this h&m. it's huge & there's always sales!! i went there last night and bought a party dress, a work dress, a nice blouse and a knit sweater for $75. the only thing i always find annoying here is the way they take care of their lines. they go on for days and there's usually just one cashier :P read more

AHHH!!! This store is such a mess I got a headache going through it. I hadn't been to the H&M outlet so I thought it would be exciting to check out... but the store is sooo messy!!!! It is half outlet, half real retail store, so not everything in the store is at outlet prices. That's annoying and confusing cause I didn't know which racks to look at. When I realized which racks were the clearance racks, I didn't even bother to go through them cause they were so unorganized. The cool thing about this H&M is that there is a body section for lingerie and etc. Besides that, if I ever have a need to go to H&M, I'll go to the one on Santana Row cause it won't be nearly as unorganized. read more

I personally love h&m. They've got great clothes for men and women. The prices are decent. If you're like me and can't get to the SF location everyday, this location is the next best thing. They offer a good variety of clothes for casual, formal, teens, working adults, and children. Whereas, the Santana Row location offers a much smaller variety. read more

SO i was like the 20 something person in line with my friends when it first open and got a freaken 25 dollar gift card. U think that sucked my friend got a 10 dollar gift card. For x-mas I got a 100 dollar gift card to this store. SO that makes 125 total in gift cards here. When I came here after x-mas I saw nothing intresting to buy or any nice clothing that fits my style. There was a lot of weird looking emo stuff in the back. I liked the walnut creek one better because when I go there I actually buy things and had a way bigger selection for men there. read more

I love coming into this store. It is a little messier than the one in San Francisco but it has a bigger selection. It also has a great selection for kids! The service here got extremely shitty. I just came in to buy some v necks. I couldn't find them so I asked the cashier "excuse me, you know where the v necks are at?" This fool be mean muggin like he has a problem with me asking for help. Same shit happened when I was paying. Another cashier was yappin away gossiping with the manager Nancy. i loooovee h&m!!!!!!! theres something about that place that makes me not care about how much money im spending. i dont know what it is.. i came here a couple months after it opened and i was soso excited! totally ready to go over my credit limit. but when i got there, there wasnt much of a selection?? i dont know if its cause it was all bought out, or there was never much to begin with. but i left pretty disappointed, with only one plain hoody in hand. a lot of the clothes were either business-y or club-y, neither of which i would buy to wear on a regular basis but i came here again last weekend, and i was pretty satisfied. they had a lot of their spring clothes out, which included lots of cardigans. exactly what i was looking for! still a lot of business-y clothes though. sf's h&m is so much better. read more

Besides the H&M in SF, this is probably the best one. It has EVERYTHING for EVERYONE. There's a more sophisticated/older section for men and women in the front of the store, then in the middle there's a junior section for men and women, then in the back there's a kid's section. Somewhere in the store there's even a lingerie section for women. What more could you ask for? I only knocked off one star because although the prices are decent, sometimes the prices for tops seem ridiculous to me because I can just get a look-a-like top for cheaper at Forever 21. The good thing about H&M is that they DO except returns, unlike Forever 21, who only does exchange or store credit. read more

I don't get it. My friends always talked about this place and how great the prices are. My shopping experience here was a disaster. First of all if you are not a size 0 you won't find anything here. And forget it if you have any curves (butt or boobs) nothing will fit. Also, the clothes are not made well at all! You really get what you pay for because the stuff is quite cheap. The prices are the only reason i gave it 2 stars b/c if you can fit into anything well at least you'll get a good price. But in final this place is not what is is cracked up to be. read more

This is probably the worst store with horrendous customer service. I bought a sweater which tore the first time I wore it, yes!! Doesn't bother me, defective pieces here n there, not really a big thing. I go to their store in great mall and tell the girl behind the counter DAISY was her name!! I gently ask her if they can give me a store credit since I had the receipt. I told her the sweater might have been too flimsy and it tore with wearing it the first time. This is what she said: IF YOU KNEW IT WAS FLIMSY THEN WHY DID YOU BUY IT??!!! This was in front of 20 other customers who were dumbfounded by what she said. I was so humiliated but managed to ask her why were they selling it if it was so badly made. Well. this is the best I could come up with despite the utter humiliation and lack of basic courtesy from her. A senior guy recognized that I was angry and came in to help. He said they cannot RESELL it, so he wouldn't give me a refund or store credit. I was OK with it, but the same girl kept sighing 'Jesus Christ'. Now I was offended!!! I told the senior guy that the girl had been wrong in asking a customer why they bought stuff from t he store that she works in!!! Cummon!!! who does that!!! At H N M they do!!!! I have told this to at least 100 people since yesterday who were so shocked listening to me that they decided not to go to H N M again solely for this reason. I have also complained to their customer care. But sorry, me and a lot more people will NEVER EVER EVER go there again. this is what happens when you hire high school kids without training them!!!! My wife bought a dress as a gift, when she got home she realized the dress was damaged. She went back to return it on Saturday November 12th, at her next visit 3 weeks later. She told the situation to the cashier who refereed her to the store manager "Joie" who in a very rude manor told her they weren't going to accept the return although she had a receipt. When she complained further they called in the Security Manager "Monica" who preceded to give her a list of excuses for not accepting her return from accusing her of stealing a tag, to destroying the dress herself... at that point she left the store and told them she would let people know the customers service they offer. All this for a $10 dress. :( read more

I usually come into this H&M since its close to my work place and my previous experiences have been alright.... So today I went into H&M to return one of my swimsuits because I bought a swimsuit that was a size too small and my brother had previously bought me a bigger size the day before. And so I brought both of my bathing suits into H&M and explained to the man at the register that I wanted to return one of them. The problem was that I lost the receipt for the smaller size bathing suit and I asked him to give me the merchandise credit for that one and to return the one I want using the merchandise credit (I didn't want to be stuck with merchandise credit) so that I could get my 20 bucks back in cash. It only took a few seconds until he started giving me bitchy attitude about it. He then proceeded to give me some bullshit saying that their policy doesn't allow for customers to do that and some shit about price adjustments. Now this is when I started getting ticked off. I asked him why the "policy" is like that when it is the same shit as returning both bathing suits and standing in line again to purchase the same exact one. I also asked him what the fuck he meant by not being able to return it by price adjustments because the prices for the bathing suit I got were all the freaking same which is $19.95 and that's when he started giving me more bullshit. He ended up calling the manager to talk to me. She basically said the same thing and looked like she was so fed up with me arguing back that she told the guy to return both my swimsuits and use the merchandise credit to repurchase the swimsuit I wanted. It was seriously a waste of my time when they should've just done it in the beginning because after I got my money back, there was already a long line. So overall, I like this H&M (which is why I gave them 3 stars) although the mens section seems like its shrinking every time I go there. I think SOME of the workers need to work more on their customer service instead of giving customers bullshit and attitude. I work in retail too but at least I remain calm and not show that I'm getting annoyed. If you're going to bs about stuff, at least say shit that makes sense. read more

Came here on a busy Sunday morning, worst mistake ever! The store was like a zoo!!!!! I purchased a few items and left as quickly as I could. I promised myself I'd return on a slower weekday so today I did just that. It was like crickets! I loved it. I didn't feel rushed, which explains why I left -$600 later. Most of the associates are helpful. They're there if you need them. With that being said, shoutout to Paul for taking the time to remove an item off of a manikin for me. This is a terrible H&M, and for many reasons, but I've been to many H&M's around the world so I tend to hold them to a certain standard. I agree with reviewers before that this store could be one hell of a hot mess, but on a weekday with few customers? That's no excuse. I found products lazily organized, too many placed on one rack, and price tags amiss. For such a big store, you would have thought you could find something you wanted, but unfortunately that's not the case here. Furthermore, usually I regard most people that work in a clothing store to dress according to the style of the store, and more commonly wear the clothes from the store. The ladies at the register were not only taking their sweet time, but the one that rang me up was just wearing a nike sweater. Talk about out of place. I might come across as a critical person, but being to many H&M's not only in the US, but also all across Asia, this store is quite a miss. read more

Remember what I said, about my girlfriend having negative customer service experiences? I experienced them first-hand yesterday. I was returning a shirt. The sales associate at the register was busy joking around and talking with a coworker, completely oblivious to my presence at the front of the line. When she finally noticed and said "next," she completely bit my head off about my receipt - which I told her I DID have, by the way, I was just rummaging through my wallet to find it. And it wasn't as though the shirt was from two seasons ago - I just bought it the week before, so if she was observant at all, she would have noticed that. By the way, the shirt was also on the fucking mannequin. She sighed impatiently and rolled her eyes. I mean, every shirt I buy goes into her paycheck, show some modicum of respect... and the clothes now look like shit, I can't believe what they're passing off as "fashionable" right now. Summer usually has uglier designs, but this summer is "speshul," I'll tell you that much... and the service is even uglier. I'd give them one star, if not for the fact that the price and convenient location still makes this particular H&M remotely appealing. read more

I've always pretty much just walked right by this place whenever i was exercising with bags through the great mall of china. It wasn't until i got a job that required me to wear all black that i decided to walk into it and give it a try. The store is set up like a mullet. Business in the front, party in the back. It wasn't long until i found what i call my "long shirts". The store seems to be pretty clean until you go to the "party" in the back where it gets pretty buck wild and poppin'. But on weekends, the entire store can get pretty messy as well by all out of town shoppers jumping at the sales, you dig? They have the best business attire that you would actually be willing to wear outside of work. They also have really cute children's clothing and an entire room for lingerie. The men's section can be pretty metro but they tend to also have nice looking clothes for guys as well. They're clothes are priced pretty reasonably, i guess... Or I don't mind them atleast. But sometimes you should check if there aren't any damages because i've gone home with some bad stitching and end up having to go back to exchange or return the damn thing. read more

Dude, I came here on a Wednesday night around 6pm. It was freakin mayhem! This isn't even considered an "outlet" store compared to other stores in the Great Mall. But dude... First, off, there was a good amount of people there.. constantly IN MY WAY, but I worked around it. =) Secondly, the front of the store was pretty organized, but once you got past the first section it was a bit disorganized, a lot of clothes on the floor in piles and what not. Thirdly, the line took FOREVER. There were 2 registers open, at least 7-8 people in each line. After maybe a 10-15 in wait, someone finally opened a 3rd register, of course after I was already at the cashier. The highlight of this was the girl who helped me out... I wish I remembered her name.. or had my receipt on me.. but I don't. She was super nice, and friendly. Usually people are in a bad mood w/ the line they're facing, but she was chipper and funny. Definitely made my shopping trip end on a high point. read more

out of the H&Ms in the south bay, this is my favorite. (i love the ones in SF and NY, but this one will do). i'm glad that they have a variety of fashions for each gender, as well as clothing for pretty much all ages! great kid's section in the back! i really love going shopping here for all the cute kiddos in my life; they have great hello kitty clothes for girls and equally adorable, yet unique clothing for boys. read more

I always try to avoid walking into this store when I'm at the Great Mall because I know I'll buy something. The employees are very helpful, regardless of how busy the store is. One thing I have noticed though is that they are beginning to have a shortage of Men's clothing and filling up with Women's clothing. read more

They make the customers do the work the employees are suppose to do ..the employees are so irresponsible they do not even know how to take off a security tag , and they will make the customer go and find the item again since they can not do their job. I was making a last minute effort to find a dress for a work party the next day so I tried my luck at this h&m. I actually found a cute dress that I wanted to try on only to find out they closed the fitting rooms along with half the store at 8:30pm even though the mall closes at 9pm! I was highly upset. I went to Greatmall location and was shocked when they said I can't bring my child to the fitting room. What kind of the stupid policy it is! How can a mother leaving her young child unattended while trying on the clothes? I asked to talk to their manger, and that's when I met the very very rude young man. Stepped into H&M today, and was frustrated due to the lack of mirrors, which really help if you want to just grab something and see how it looks on. Also this H&M seems a bit hard to find things and as others have mentioned, no employees really ask you if you'd like help looking for something, so you're kind of on your own here. read more

I work at the H&M in the great mall, as a visual merchandiser. We are facing totally hard times, just like everyone else. Our staff does the best it can, given the circumstances. If you had to deal with the great mall customers, you would feel for us. We try to maintain the store as best as we possibly can, but at times it almost doesn't seem worth it. Customers trash it, and always assume we will clean up after them. Which we will, its our job. BUT its not okay for you to dump where ever you feel like. As far as the long lines, we can't help it!! Sorry folks. We have only so much man power, but I agree our cashiers should shut the hell up and RING! Thanks for the support, and we will try to suck less. read more
