The store manager Alona completely contradicted the terms and conditions of the receipt. I had an exchange 2 months past the purchase date and drove 3 hours to the closest H&M to exchange (which I was purchasing quite a lot over the $ value of the return). She kept insisting it was her decision to decline the exchange, although the receipt clearly states store credit or exchange past 30 days. I wasn't mad until she decided to answer the phone whilst I was explaining I already knew the terms of returns and exchanges. If the area team reads this message, I strongly recommend you connect with her on how to appropriately address customer complaints and maybe let her read the back of the receipt so she knows what hill to make a stand on. Absolutely abhorrent service. read more

I wear plus size clothes (usually 16-18 depending on the store and brand) and like a lot of stores (see my review for Simons) I didn't think H&M had a plus size section. Apparently they do, and my friend and I went to the H&M in West Ed because we figured the store and selection would be better than South Common. There isn't a huge selection of plus size clothes, but there is a bit, and H&M always has nice basics and trendy pieces too. One thing I love about H&M, no matter what dress size you might be, is the accessories. There are a lot of fun jewellery, purses, scarves, etc and the prices being pretty low it's pretty easy to go overboard and buy quite a bit. Of course the prices being so low this isn't exactly high quality long lasting items, but I tend to break, lose, rip, tear, etc. any accessories I get anyway so spending $12 on a scarf that I'll eventually lose at H&M seems better than spending $100 for a high-end scarf somewhere else. Aside from clothes and accessories the other thing H&M has that I didn't realize they carried are home decor products. This section isn't as big as the regular clothing and accessory section, but there are a variety of fun home decor items you can get, from bedspreads to aprons. West Ed isn't a place I particualrly like to go to, but if I'm here I'll check out H&M again. read more

While this location is large and has homewares it is still my least Favorite location. It drives me bonkers that the only cash registers are ALL the way at the back. I much prefer locations that have multiple registers open like South Common. Today, I waited in a line of more than 20 customers with only 2 of 4 registers open AND there were tons of employees throughout the store including 2 in children's, 3 in the dressing room, and 2 in makeup/accessories. There are at least another 5 sections in the store that probably had employees yet only 2 registers were open... Ugh. read more

I had not been in H&M in years and went in to shop for my niece. When I walk by there just seems to be so much clothes to go through. And although there is, it's not like going through racks and racks to find gems like in other stores. Yes, some of the items are overflowing with the hangers being entwined in each other, but at least they are organized by item. While my niece was in the change room, I browsed in the lingerie section, and clothes for the office. There were many stylish blouses that were reasonably price and lovely. The quality seemed alright too. The lingerie section had matching bras and panties that looked cute. The accessories by the cash registers are filled with cute bright and flowery hair clips. Needs a pair of sock, or how about 4? You can find them here. They also have a bin to bring in your gently used clothing and you get $5 off your purchase. Cool! I didn't check out the home section but will have a look next time I'm around. Great place to find casual clothes, and also clothes for the office. read more

I always need to stop by H&M when I'm at West Ed, even if it's just to see what new stuff they have in stock. There's always something new, and the best thing about H&M is that it's high fashion for low price. They have the latest trends for men, women, teens, and kids, and it's all affordable. And when they have a big clearance sale, it's even better! I love the women's section at the front of the store, but it doesn't suit my current lifestyle, since it's mostly trendy business attire. The shoes and jewelry section always entice me though, and there's always something there. I got a winter toque here once that I still get lots of compliments on. H&M also carries women's undergarments, so a girl can literally get her whole wardrobe from here. I like that they have a wide selection in stockings and leggings, all kinds and colours. The teens section is closer to the back of the store, and is connected to the men's section. They call it the teen section, but I just see it as the casual women's section, as long as the sizes are the same. The dressing rooms are close to the undergarments section, and while there are a lot of rooms, there's still usually a pretty long line-up. That's the only thing I don't like about H&M. I get lazy sometimes, and just give up on whatever it is I wanted to try on. read more

I have been very excited for the arrival of H&M ever since shopping in their stores in Europe. They offer modern and trendy looks without hurting your wallet. In fact, some of the items are very well priced compared to similar brands. The WEM location offers a large selection for women (especially), men, and even kids. As I mentioned earlier, H&M strives to bring out the latest looks from Europe. It's not unnatural to see styles that haven't caught on yet. This can be a turn off for those who prefer to play it safe and follow the current fashion trend. They have over 15 changing stalls so there is usually no waiting involved. The sales staff are friendly and will even give recommendations if you're unsure on what you're trying on. Personally I'm a bit disappointed by the slowly decreasing size of the men's section. There used to be a lot of cheap (and good quality) dress shirts and ties, however those are gone now and replaced by discount shirts. As mentioned by others, there is a new H&M in South Edmonton Common, however that location has a significantly diminished selection than compared to the one in WEM. read more

This H & M has the best selection I've seen in any H & M store. They have stuff for men, women and even kids here. And a lot of it! This store is huge! I don't really like the layout of the store because there isn't really a set pathway to follow. There is just a mishmash of clothing racks everywhere. It looks like they tried to organize it but gave up. It's a little chaotic. I don't shop here often because the clothes aren't all they are hyped to be. It's hard to get help in this store too. The staff is often nowhere to be found. Usually the only staff I see are the 2 people behind the counter ringing through purchases. Not a fan of H& M. Love the fact that its on trend and affordable. Friendly staff - and available when its not busy. Register in the back and on the men's side. You could either go in with a set idea of what you want in your head but then get lost in the abundance of variety of clothing. Sectioned off by style and theme, not hard to walk around but sometimes there's just not enough of one style or size. They are accommodating in the fact that the staff help you look for what you want or able to call around. Goodness gracious, I haven't reviewed H&M yet! If I could, I would spend all my dollas at my favourite local boutiques. Unfortunately, some of my favourite boutiques are a little out of my price range sometimes. And for a girl who loves shopping regularly, sometimes I need to add a few more cute but affordable pieces to my wardrobe. When I was in H&M with Bridget G yesterday, I told her, "If I could have a shopping spree at any store at WEM, it would be H&M." (And I wasn't even trying to rhyme!) The clothes here are cute, on trend, relatively well-made (compared to, say, Forever 21), and within my budget. It might not be the best place to pick up a signature piece that you'll want to last you years and years, but when plaid is in season, it's the best spot to pick up a plaid top for $20. When I graduated university and started my first big-girl job in an office, I needed some business-casual basics. Pants, maybe a blazer, and a few blouses. H&M is the ultimate destination for a working girl who also wants to look cute, not stuffy, and is on a budget. My recommendation - swing by often, since they get new things in fairly regularly, and keep an eye for sales! I bought a dress from H&M at the end of summer, and it's one of the items I get the most compliments on. My secret? On sale for $10! Score! My one complaint - the staff aren't great. I am a cheap, so I keep trying to fall in love with this store but i for some reason its just not happening. I think its probably because there doesnt seem to be much rhyme or reason as to how the clothes are organized on the floor. This does not appeal to my slight OCD tendencies and if I spend to much time in the store I`ve found myself organizing the racks into the the proper size arrangements. I have found a nice t-shirt or 2 here but other then that anything else I have tried on just didnt fit right. I quite enjoy this H & M location, especially when contrasted with South Edmonton Common. The staff are very helpful and quite willing to help (on one occasion there was a mile long lineup at the cash out). A male blonde rep with glasses who was previously inquiring in the various areas if any customers needed help was more than happy to check my gift card balance for me and avoid the 20 min or so I would have had to wait in line. This is the commitment of the WEM location staff. Periodic sales, a wonderful discount/sales area where I pick up many $5 scarves, sunglasses are accessories, as well as striking like lightning when 50% sales on coats and outwear are on sale. Dress sheets in many colours (esp if Simon's is too pricey) are also a feature menswear item. Pants and shorts are one thing I do find to be lacking to my taste, but for hipsters that enjoy the American Apparel look - dig in! Women's wear is largely a geared at teens to perhaps late 20s, however signature neutral/classic pieces may be found in their 5X the women's area of merchandise. read more

H&M is a great store to stop in when you just feel like buying something. They have a HUGE selection for guys, girls and kids, and everything's priced pretty reasonably. They usually have the latest in fashion, and I always come across something eye catching. It definitely caters to the new trendy look of bright and energetic. The clothes aren't over the top though like the ridiculous Ed Hardy rage going around. As much as I like the H&M I have never gone to West Edmonton Mall thinking I need to check out H&M. I usually don't even remember it until I walk past it. Like I said before, it isn't a store to go into when you have something specific in mind because there are better stores for that but you can always find something you like here. H&M sells male, female and children clothing and is a huge store. I remember anxiously anticipating the grand opening of H&M inside West Edmonton Mall ever since I saw the ads for it in local newspapers. When the day finally arrived, as I entered the store a sales rep handed me a coupon giving me a certain percentage off and I prepped myself ready for a full on shopping spee packed with trendy European clothing. What I found (or rather didn't find) was nothing that met my expectations. My initial reaction was that the clothing styles are very similar to GAP and Jacob. Overall very generic/blah and nothing special. The prices were relatively pricey for the quality and lack of unique-ness for what you were buying. Basically you can buy the same style of clothing at any other store. Needless to say I didn't purchase anything that day. Since my big disappointment, I drop by every so often just to see whether or not they have gotten anything in thats new and exciting to the world of fashion. I have purchased a two-piece bathing suit for under $30 for the set and it was a good buy. But other than that, H&M has yet to still impress me with their supposedly ultra chic European styles and clothing. I have talked to friends who swears by the store and finds cute dresses and blouses every season but I either find the prints too distracting or too plain and not enough trendy for my taste. I will still go in if I pass by the store just to try my luck in finding that hidden gem, but like many reviewers before me, maybe H&M just isn't my style. The worst customer service ever I can't even believe what I witnessed today at H&M at west ED I had a baby with me and I was in the store looking around when all of the sudden my shopping bag from zara ripped and my items fell on ground. I went to the cashier and asked this employee named Karen if I can have a bag and she was like no we can't give out bags I was like ok I will buy a socks just to get a bag cause everything was on the floor and she said no I will give you the smallest bag. I was like I have jackets on the floor like I can't walk all the way back to ZARA to get a bag when I have a baby with me and I can't carry all these stuff with me, she kept on saying no is company policy and we can't give you a bag. I was shocked to the point like what am I going to do I shop at this store all the time and was willing to even buy a socks just to get a bag. I asked her for a manager and she was like I am the manager even more shocked at this point how could a manager do such thing.. This is my go to store when I need cute skirts. They always have something I like,a do the prices are are great. I've also started investigating the kids clothes, and I'm impressed. They have a great selection of trendy clothes for little ones at great prices, just like the adult sections. The store is big and can take a long time to navigate if you're not familiar with the layout. It looks like it has no rhyme or reason, but it does. Maybe you just need to be familiar with merchandising. I've gotten a lot of things from here over the years, and I've never been disappointed with anything. The fitting rooms in this store, as compared to Kingsway, are lovely. They don't keep the ac set to arctic all year round! The service is there when you need it, and cash is always friendly and efficient, even for returns. read more

One of my friends suggested that I check out H&M. She said that I would absolutely love this store, and that the prices are super cheap. So I trekked my way over to West Edmonton Mall to scope the place out. Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I didn't think the fashion here was that great. It did sort-of seem like high-fashion, but at the same time it seemed really bland. The fall jackets were extremely plain and genetic--I've seen those styles a million times before. I was hoping to find some clothes that were really funky, but I didn't really see anything. I kept looking all over this huge store, hoping that I would find a reason to love this place, but I didn't. I also came back about three weeks later, and I had the same experience. I might try it just one more time, just to make sure! But I'm already thinking that H&M just isn't for me. read more

Although as a rule I am an H&M fan, I've gotta agree with Jeanette about the H&M location in West Edmonton Mall. Like her, I was super stoked about it and paid it multiple visits before pretty much writing it off. Maybe it's due to the market that the head office envisions exists in Edmonton; they just seem to send all the crappy fashions here, concentrating mostly on tenth-grade hipster and cheesy career woman with nothing existing in-between. Even the baby clothes are mediocre! There are a few exceptions, though. H&M had their 'Sqin' style jeans in a really nice, heavy dark denim that wear amazingly (literally - I wore a pair almost every day for a year till the knees were so busted out they had to be retired); I picked up a new pair at this spot not too long ago. And plain t-shirts and tank tops in a rainbow of colours are super cheap and come in a variety of different styles, some super nice, flattering and comfy, others not so much. H&M's socks are also a good bet, as are their hoodies, which I now purchase exclusively. They fit tight and have the elusive silver zipper, a key ingredient in a nice hoodie. For guys, H&M's I've been to in other cities can clothe a man into a total dreamboat. At Edmonton's, as for women, this doesn't seem to be the case. One final note, regarding the sizing: H&M seems to partake in that silly trend of vanity sizing, so make sure you try stuff on if you don't normally shop here. Shopping assistance is nonexistent. Even if a staff member passes by, at most they acknowledge you and move on. I was hoping at the checkout they would not ask me if I found everything okay, because that would get me started. I asked fellow shoppers in line, and I understand that such is the norm. The fitting room was closed, plenty of staff walking around talking but only one register working a line that I waited in 20 minutes for twice. Cashier was rude, didn't explain a promotion I was inquiring about which lead to me purchasing items and then returning them. Asked for the manager because I couldn't possibly believe the service and needed someone to explain without being rude and frustrating, turns out she was the manager and oh boy was she spiteful. I hope her treating me the way she did solves all her life issues because I would hate for someone to go through what I went through and waste 2 hrs of their life. read more

I think that H&M is a great place to shop for wardrobe basics such as basic T-shirts, blouses, skirts and pants for the ladies, and tops and pants or the guys. I love that H&M in West Edmonton Mall is large, neatly organized and easy to navigate. I also love the fact that the majority of clothes are made of natural materials and look well tailored. I am always on the hunt for slim fitting tops for my husband and myself, and H&M has a nice selection of tops that fit close to the body. Additionally, the store carries small sizes for both pants and tops, and that makes my slim self extremely happy. H&M section of ladies underwear and swimwear is equally impressive. Low cut bras are something worth looking into; and swimsuits appear to be a lot more expensive than they actually cost and look flattering on. read more

Love H&M! It is a bit more expensive than F21 as clothing can exceed $60 but it is worth shopping here! Everything is so cute and the quality is better than forever 21! You also can get refunds here after 30 days so that nice! They also have great sales every now and then! I buy about 50% of my wardrobe from H&M (the rest being Jacob, Aritzia, Zara, etc) and to be honest, I never had a problem after I wear it. It's still in good condition after several washes, and the price is AWESOME. read more
