I got the ($14) Pandan jelly with Mango & Durian (sago pearls & coconut milk). I ordered it to go thinking the dish would be too big to finish, but it's actually very light and refreshing, and not heavy at all. There were diners there sharing one large shaved ice and I assumed most of the dessert soups would be just as big. But usually Chinese desserts are not overly rich or heavy. The staff said that they could switch out the Durian for extra mango, but they were nice enough to pack a little bit of Durian on the side for me to dry - and no! The whole dessert doesn't smell like durian. Everything was packed extremely well - the liquid was in its own little dispensing pouch. Very nice attention to detail. Pandan is an herby vanilla flavor from Southeast Asian. I think The noodles were made out of rice flour? It was like a soft creamy pudding thick noodle. You can easily scoop into them alongside the mango, coconut milk, sago pearls. Every part of the dessert was very fresh and not too sweet! Had to control the late night snack, and save the rest for the next day. Don't think this kept well, there was a lot of liquid that seeped out of the tapioca pearls or noodles (delicious pandan flavor still!)? But it still wasn't too stiff the next day. Excited to try as other items like the ginger, milk, pudding, but I think I made an excellent choice with this dish, and the price point seemed high at first, but each ingredient to be made fresh on the same day. I'll be back! Curious about the hot café foods too.

Flavor profiles were hitting in all directions I didn't know which one to pick as my favorite! Durian mango coconut pudding - Durian wasn't overpowering at all and the mango shined in this dessert. The mango was nice and sweet, yet tart, soft and not at all unripe. The durian bits were creamy and custard-y, while the coconut pudding served as the perfect base for the dessert. Light and smooth Taro with mochi dessert- This was a taro sweet soup and had the consistency as black sesame soup. The taro was potent and the aroma was very prominent. The mochi was nice and soft, yet chewy. I was not expecting to like this one as much as I did. Ginger pudding - Utterly delicious. The ginger flavor and taste was insanely strong and the pudding was jiggly soft. Not too sweet and almost tasted spicy in a sense from the ginger. Super solid pudding. I'd come back just to get this again honestly.

She said 100% is very sweet so I ended up picking 30% but really had no idea what I was choosing . Thankfully it ended up being perfect for me but I wish that process was a little more clear. Otherwise, I'd come back and try the deserts too . They looked great

A 20% automatic gratuity was added, which I understood, although it felt high for the level of service. The bigger issue was the bill: the receipt stated 20% gratuity, but the actual charge worked out to about 24%. I pointed it out and was told the manager would fix it on Monday, but several weeks later, the difference still hasn't been refunded. I'm giving 2 stars mainly because of the billing issue and lack of follow-up. The desserts were great, but check your receipt carefully.

Shaved Ice with Mango milk (+$1 upgrade for the face): For the pic, we upgraded! The features were edible. The flavoring was tasty! Ice cream with boba: This one was my favorite! The ice cream was rich, creamy/heavy, and coupled well with the boba. The boba was nested below the large scoops of ice cream so a little hard to get to. (I wonder if they make the ice cream in-house as their fridge was stocked with whole milk!) Black sesame with rice balls (hot): This was my least favorite but still good. Forward black sesame taste, more congealed than I would have liked, not sweet at all! With tip, the 3 desserts landed at $50.

The menu is extensive, and every dessert looks stunning. I'll definitely need multiple visits to try everything. The ancient Chinese decor and dining booth had such a vibe, and you can even borrow hanfu (漢服) for photos. The names of their pastries are also very poetic. TLDR: The traditional dessert soups are must-haves, and the mochi definitely outshines the pastries. ＊Osmanthus Sweet Fermented Rice Milk Mochi 桂花酒釀水麻薯 $6.99 *** My favorite out of everything! The floral osmanthus notes paired beautifully with the sweet fermented rice wine, and the milk mochi was perfectly soft and stretchy. It's also the best-value dessert on the menu imo. ＊Pear Sweet Soup with Snow Fungus 冰糖銀耳桃膠雪燕烤梨 $12.99 ** This felt like a warm hug in the winter. Served hot in a traditional ceramic pot, it was nourishing with poached pear, snow fungus, peach gum, and goji berries. My mom gave her stamp of approval on this. ＊Mochi Combo 軟酪合集 $20.99 * I was a little sad they ran out of the persimmon mochi...it looked so cute...But the jasmine guava mochi and yuzu matcha mochi were both delicious and super soft. I swapped the third mochi for a matcha pastry (玉妃 抹茶奶黄), which was just okay. ＊Mousse Dessert Combo 珍寶格 慕斯合集 $36.99 These desserts were beautifully crafted, almost too pretty to eat. The peony mousse was my favorite, especially with the crunchy rice krispy base. The set also comes with your choice of tea (green, black, or milk tea), kept warm with a small candle.

I walked up to the stall and watched the cakes being made fresh in front of me, which is part of the appeal. The process was genuinely satisfying to watch. At around four to five dollars a piece, the price point is easy to justify, and the portions are filling enough that one cake makes for a solid snack. The custard filling is the standout and the one I ordered first. It came out warm and creamy with a crispy exterior that held up well fresh off the iron. The matcha is another strong option if you want something with a little more character, and the red bean is a reliable classic that does not disappoint. As a destination on its own, it is not something I would make a special trip for, but as part of a broader Flushing outing or a stop after a meal at Tangram, it is a fun and satisfying addition to the day.
