    Falafel Appetizer Plate
    Anshita S.

Had their Falafel Appetizer Plate to go last week. It comes with a dip, salad and 6 pieces of falafel. It is not on their menu but you can order it for $14. The salad was meh but the pickled cabbage was delicious. The falafel was crispy on the outside and soft from the inside. It can be a little dry to eat on its own, but we had it with the babaganush and it tasted great together. The star was the Babaganush - smoked eggplant with tahini, yogurt and garlic. The flavor, texture and smoky taste was perfect. Also tried Pistachio Baklava. It was way too sweet with for us with too much syrup, but the flavor was fantastic. It is pricey at $2.20 for 1 piece of baklava. I love their eggplant in tomato sauce and pair it with their freshly baked, you will be in heaven!! Now this one is more of a quick take out location, if you want to dine in, you can visit their Norwood location.

Very expensive for the quality and quantity. Food was mediocre as was portions but store is clean and service is friendly.

Very average food, slightly overpriced. The guts working behind the counter seemed pretty nice. One said he was from Istanbul turkey and another was from Azerbaijan. I ordered the lamb and it was pretty good. The tzatziki sauce was fresh and tasty. Not the best but not the worst.

Best rice pudding ever! Food here is wonderful. Nice service. Meat is delicious. Definitely recommend the gyro

We always order take out for this place especially for large parties at our house (6-14) people ! The food is always delicious and everyone is pleased. The family style dinner is a great option ( for 4 people ) or if we order individually! Highly recommend . I've been loyal to another Greek food place nearby for the last 20 years, but since we discovered Gyro and kebab house last year, I can't go back .

Over priced and not flavorful. I love Mediterranean food and frequent other similar restaurants with a much better experience.

They look like they've changed their menu to be more Mediterranean focused, to cater to more communities. I'll say, among the Persian community in Boston, no one really talks about Stardust, which is strange because they're pretty legit. The quality, taste, and delivery timeliness were all top-notch. I'm thinking maybe their location isn't as accessible, but I'd definitely recommend them as a Persian food option for delivery or takeout. It seems to fly under the radar and it definitely deserves more attention!

The space is small and intimate but the portions are large and the flavors "inspired." You can order off the menu or create your own. We came for the Gyro experience - but the menu is quite expansive and worth returning to explored more fully. I asked for my lamb-tenderloin gyro "Greek & Spicy" - which is laden with both Tzatziki (strained yogurt, cucumber, garlic) and a red spicy sauce. Normally, I prefer my gyro enclosed in a thick soft warm pita, but Stardust uses a thinner pita - which appears to accommodate a larger serving size while holding it all firmly together, without it falling out in a messy puddle. So I'm willing to overlook this bread issue. All in all, the star is the food, as it should be, and it doesn't disappoint. Allen is a very well-read and international citizen, who is engaging on all things Persian culture and cuisine. Strike up a convo and see where it goes.

This price range is more close to the city price range. The lamb shank is flavorful, the salad that comes with it is fresh and the dressing is on the sour side, which is appetizing. The conch fritter came out hot and the batter is nice and not greasy. The ambiance is ok, with some jazz music playing in the background. I appreciated how much this place leans into both cultures from decor showcases both cultures to their balanced menu featuring dishes from both. There is ample seating at this place and dont let the construction outside deter you because they are open. We ordered the cheese manakish to start, and this might have been my favorite dish. Balanced with two types of cheese with a light airy texture to it kept it from feeling too dense. The pita its on is crunchy and thin, and theres a drizzle of sauce, likely some form of pesto, that cuts the flavor making it a truly enjoyable dish. We also ordered the chicken kebabs and roasted jerk chicken. The kebabs were a great portion with tender chicken, some greens, and grains. I personally could have used more tzakai, but thats a personal preference. Overall though, the meal did not feel heavy and I left feeling full but not overtly stuffed which I was happy with. My husband's jerk chicken was a sizable dish. The chicken was tender and fell right off the bone, and the pilaf had a nice flavor to it. Overall we really enjoyed our meals. The service can take some time, but its a super small staff so just be patient.

I would recommend calling beforehand to ask about the wait. Although we commuted from Cambridge, this meal was worth it. For two people, we got: - Black Seed Cornbread: it's soft, sweet yet savory. I've never had cornbread like this, and the first bite into this was unforgettable. You must get this. - Honey Nut Hummus: this was honestly fine and I'd probably try a different dip next time. - Warm Gyro bread: well seasoned and great to share between two. I normally don't like gyro but I enjoyed this. - Lamb al pastor: this was a favorite. It was sweet and the lamb was tender. We were really impressed with the sauce. - Brussel sprout bravas: this was okay. I liked the crunchy nuts and the star of this dish was once again the sauce/seasoning rather than the brussel sprouts. With all of these dishes, we ordered enough for two, with a few bites leftover. If you have a smaller appetite, you could get away with ordering a plate less. Overall, I loved the dining experience here. Even though I'm not typically a small plates mediterranean person, I appreciated Sarma - from its beautiful interior space and open kitchen concept, to the liveliness of the restaurant on a random weekday night. Definitely come here if you're in the area (or even if you're not!)

The food was overly salty, and the portions were very small.... even for tapas style dining. The flavor profiles just weren't there. The only thing that I would say tasted good was the cornbread and lamb skewer (which was definitely overpriced still). The cornbread was impressive and the ingredients made for a unique flavor. Service was also underwhelming. While the staff did their job, there wasn't much warmth or attentiveness and we didn't feel welcomed. We left feeling pretty disappointed given the hype and effort it took to get a reservation.
