I can find things for my mom or my dad, my sister and often times just myself! The thing that I particularly love about Brown and Hawkins is that they stock items that I would want. Not everything says Seward Alaska on it. They actually have really cool items from pottery to jewelry to clothing items that anybody would love! It's not just a tourist shop. It's a great place for people to find gifts that will bring them joy beyond the experience of vacation. On top of that they have amazing customer service and everyone there is incredibly friendly and helpful! The owners of the shop have made a major effort to stock great items and to set up a really cool atmosphere that makes shopping even more fun.

Took shoes out to the car for him to try on after purchasing and they were too small. Took them back in immediately and they refused to return or do in store credit. The two ladies made excuses that the owner was home sick. Now we know why they are selling what a crooked place. Looked forward to swinging into this store every-time we were in town on business or with friends and family not anymore. As business owners ourselves this is not a way to do business!!!!

Always love picking up some national park souvenirs on our adventures and was disappointed that our go-to shop was closed. However, we found nearly everything we normally buy here! And there selection is massive - so much to choose from, all at affordable prices. Souvenirs from Alaska, Kenai, Seward... you name it, we found it. If you're looking for a good souvenir from your trip, this is a wonderful place to stop.

In a small town that struggles to survive through the long winter like Seward, this shop does something remarkable. They also sell Native Made goods CHEAPER THAN ANCHORAGE. I am an advocate of selling as much local, native made goods as possible. I had a conversation with the buyer at the store and he was telling me with each passing year there are less native carvers and artists because elders are passing away. They have some incredible pieces of art in the store. For people that don't have large sums of money to invest in art pieces, they have some local pieces of jewelry, Alaska themed shirts and hats, stickers, mugs, magnets, books and cook books, etc. They have also have a whole aisle of toys for out-of-towners who are desperate to satisfy a whiny kiddo during a trip. They even have ponchos, backpacks, umbrellas and other immediate need items that are often very hard to find in a town this size. Honestly, don't judge and book by its cover. This place has you covered.

This coffee shop was the most recommended and talked about shop by guides, locals and other shop owners. It obviously is beloved by its community and the line to get coffee spoke to that fact. The coffee was good, the line long, but service was quick and we even got a few take-aways. The ambiance is cute... Is the line worth the wait? I'm torn here. Coffee was good but not necessarily the best, lots of herbaceous drink combos if you enjoy that, other coffees balanced and delicious and the team takes care. However, the space seems overwhelming there are so many people that want to try it and I get why, but the line winds through the tables and there's lots of bumping and crowing in an almost uncomfortable manner which kills a chill morning vibe unfortunately. Baked goods are acceptable but not to die for- though I think maybe this leads back to your & my personal preference, geared toward an earthy pallet. 4 stars for Asthetic and product. They could benefit from an online ordering system or a counter persons who's only job was to get the order quick so guests could wait away from the service area. Too bad the counter for order wasn't near the back, that would fix the flow of the whole store, make it more enjoyable for guests and probably increase sales dramatically. Just a thought. Definitely go, avoid peak hours and order according to your preference so you can enjoy every drop.
